Jack Jago Thriller #3

Lethal Promise: Revenge is the only option

Rate this book

A deadly cocktail of business and ideology, where revenge is the only option.

Disaster strikes while Jago is enjoying a holiday in Australia with his friend Hunter and their respective partners. A well-orchestrated and merciless attack on innocent civilians results in multiple casualties, some of whom are close to Jago. Now he wants to know: who did it, and why?

Jago’s immediate pursuit of the culprits is the tip of the iceberg, and the authorities enlist him to track down the ruthless attackers. Governments often hire Jago to undertake risky contracts, but this time it’s personal. And for Jago, revenge is the only option: he’s made a ‘lethal promise’ to bring the perpetrators to justice – his justice – and he intends to keep it.

The hunt is on, and it tests Jago’s investigative and military expertise to the limit as he travels along the wild coast of Australia, to the exotic Maldives, and to the paradise island of Mauritius.

The question is, can Jago fulfill his promise before the attackers strike again?

If you've read and liked Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, Lee Child's Jack Reacher, Mark Dawson's John Milton, Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp, and Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne, you will love Jack Jago

Another amazing thriller well-penned to keep you riveted as you swipe away at your Kindle. No spoilers here, the blurb for the book gives you the perfect explanation as to what you can expect. Twists and turns and plenty of action will make you glad you made the purchase and satisfy your itch for a good thriller. Bonus: The characters and story are so well developed you don't have to read the other two Jago books to love this one (but you'll want to!) I initially received an ARC of this book, but loved it so much I made the purchase, and this is my honest, unsolicited evaluation of this fab book!

Jago is enjoying a holiday in Australia with his friend Hunter and their partners. Then a well-orchestrated and merciless attack on innocent civilians results in multiple casualties. Hunters wife is shot and in bad shape but Jago’s girlfriend is killed. They both set out to see what is happening and if they can find the attackers. They see a drone and know there has to be an operator nearby. Hunter also gets shot and he and his wife are take to the hospital while Jago goes on the hunt for the operator.Lots of action, twists and turns that really keep you on the edge of your seat. So if you enjoy reading books that keep you involved in the action this is a must read.

as Jago's story continues, he becomes a little more screwed up as he faces personal loss. This book is about how he deals with that loss and manages to keep going. like the other books, there are elements of personal ethics, that to some may seem questionable, while others perfectly acceptable - which is part of what i love about these books - the way the explore the grey areas in our ethics. as before a great story.

This story is filled with lots of action when Jago is on vacation in Australia. Innocent people are killed, some who are close to Jago...this is where the revenge comes in. Boy does it hit hard! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
