Dima Zales is a full-time science fiction and fantasy author residing in Palm Coast, Florida. Prior to becoming a writer, he worked in the software development industry in New York as both a programmer and an executive. From high-frequency trading software for big banks to mobile apps for popular magazines, Dima has done it all. In 2013, he left the software industry in order to concentrate on his writing career.

Dima holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from NYU and a dual undergraduate degree in Computer Science / Psychology from Brooklyn College. He also has a number of hobbies and interests, the most unusual of which might be professional-level mentalism. He simulates mind-reading on stage and close-up, and has done shows for corporations, wealthy individuals, and friends.

He is also into healthy eating and fitness, so he should live long enough to finish all the book projects he starts. In fact, he very much hopes to catch the technological advancements that might let him live forever (biologically or otherwise). Aside from that, he also enjoys learning about current and future technologies that might enhance our lives, including artificial intelligence, biofeedback, brain-to-computer interfaces, and brain-enhancing implants.

In addition to his own works, Dima has collaborated on a number of romance novels with his wife, Anna Zaires. The Krinar Chronicles, an erotic science fiction series, has been a bestseller in its categories and has been recognized by the likes of Marie Claire and Woman’s Day. If you like erotic romance with a unique plot, please feel free to check it out, especially since the first book in the series (Close Liaisons) is available for free everywhere. Keep in mind, though, Dima Zales's books are going to be much more PG 13 . . . at least that’s the plan for now.

Anna Zaires is the love of his life and a huge inspiration in every aspect of his writing. She definitely adds her magic touch to anything Dima creates, and the books would not be the same without her. Notes:
The series went from somewhat feasible to playing "How many times can I jump the shark and get away with it?" game. The answer is NOT the number of times it happened in this book. =P

I'd give this 2 stars but I feel like it was my own expectations that riddled me with reality shots. The narration is great. The story so-so. My enthusiasm for this series has definitely gotten a big chunk taken out of it. As far as I know, there's only one more book left but it'll be a while before I read it.

Yet another reason why most of the books on Audible Escape & Kindle Unlimited are not that great. *sigh*

My English review

I love this series and I must say that I was really looking forward to this novel. Plus you know what? The next volume, which is volume 7, is the last volume of the series and I’m very, very much looking forward to reading it! Especially after this ending!

After the revelations of the previous volume about Nero, the latter embarks on a perilous adventure and he is determined to prevent Sasha from following him. What does he mean by that? By giving her new bodyguards (jailers?) to whom she’ll have a hard time to fake company. But on top of that, Lilith is in town and it won’t take her long to find her daughter. Yet, just like Sasha, we wonder what she wants. What if she’s not as bad as we thought?

There were a lot of things I didn’t see coming at all and I have to say I was surprised. I really enjoyed learning more about Lilith and Nero. Sasha is going to have to put her life on the line more than once, especially if she wants to save those she loves.

It was a great tome again and I had a great time as always. I let myself be carried away by the author, wondering each time what he was going to reveal to us. A series that I recommend without any problem!

In the sixth Sasha Urban Series book, Sasha finally knows who BOTH of her parents are! And what a family it is!! You want to see drama, look at Sasha's mother! Demons are trying to kill Sasha and somehow her evil mother is always there to rescue her. Don't be suspicious, don't be suspicious. (Admit it, you sang that last part.) Sasha almost dies... constantly in this book.

I know that a lot of people raved over how good this book was, but I utterly disagree. Much of the plot was predictable and the "great reveal" was pathetic and utterly cliche.

All in all, this book was a huge let down. I'm sorry, Sasha, but your pledge was very good, your turn was enjoyable, and your prestige was a disaster. Better luck next time, though I'm not sure if I'll bother to find out.

Love the series, but struggled with this one

I love this series and the characters. I own all books in audio and ebook. I found this book challenging to follow. I think it was the amount of time Sasha spends in headspace. This book spent a lot of time looking at future possibilities but not focusing on the "present" in the story. I ended up switching to only reading the book. I also searched the book to go back and identify when characters were introduced. The headspace scenes seemed to add bulk to the story but not necessarily move the plot forward. That said, I look forward to the next book. The last twenty percent of this book moved quickly and set the stage for the next book. I also want to see where Sasha and Nero 's relationship goes. I did like the interaction with Lilith and discovery of siblings.

Aaaaannndddd...two steps back in the ratings. This read more like a middle grade choose your own adventure book, and honestly at points felt like a completely different writer. Lilith’s character change was not believable, Nostradamus spoke like a teen despite his age, and seeing the major action of the book through visions felt like a total cop out. And seriously - after six books of build up, THAT was the Nero scene? More of an after thought than the scene it should have been after all this build up. I really like this series but this book ... missed the mark. And the big reveal ... sigh. That’s the solution? Ok. I guess we all just give up now. I expected better.

Sasha strikes again and while the start of the series was surprising... de-acceleration, since the end of the 5 book makes you practically hit your head on the ceiling with shock and then we come here and... kind of nothing too much happens with that Shocking Information, basically... but that's just me nitpicking because there is absolutely nothing wrong with this book.

I was suprised at the format, that much I can tell you. I guess the previous stuff was more about... going on about your life and BAM, something happens but then life goes on. Like, right from the start, I really liked the vibe of how Sasha is "normal" and her life sudenly changes and life sarts throwing stuff at her and she's fighting that with sheer determination and luck and trying to adjust to her new life. Even the 5 one that was basically made out of a quest starts with Sasha going to work and such, but this one is about... well, there are two plot lines, I guess, and it's kind of briliant that we can see it - Sasha is going around and saving her friends and family and somwhere in another world Nero is fighting a cool Big Scale battle and we see both of these and only at the end she realizes she really has to come to the Battle and save him - I am actually pretty sure the events in this book happen in a single day but SO MUCH happens and changes it's... WHOA.

It's basically a jump-start for the 6 book where, (no spoilers), we get to prepare and fight the Ultimate Fight with the Ultimate Boss.

The 6 book also utilizes the great plot device that is Sasha's Seer ability. I mean, how can you tell HEA is really a HEA? Well, Sasha can! She can see the future and literaly told us what will happen and how she will be happy!

Just... I recommend this series so much so if you like urban fantasy, definitely go for this!

Narrated by Emuly Durante

It all boils down to, I liked it. I am excited for the next book. For the most part everything gets wrapped up in Book six. If you're one of those folks who complain about a long series, then this is the book that gives you the ending you need. You should stop here and enjoy the wrap up of the previous storyline. However, if you dont mind staying on this ride, then the epilogue will have you ready for more. A story line that's been hinted at in previous books comes to the forefront.

In Book 6, a lot of things happen. Nero's full backstory comes to light and an epic level battle ensues. There is a lot of action both in the real world and in visions.

Sasha still makes bad decisions. Maybe this was something voted on in the last Writers Convention because every au th hor seems to be drawn to these bad decision making lead females. 🙄

The narrator, Emily Durante, knocks this thing out the ball park.

Sasha Urban #6. Sasha and friends have returned from rescuing Rasputin. Nero heard that Claudia, whoever she is, was alive. He gathers a force to reclaim his throne on the dragon world, but puts a guard on Sasha's apartment so she'll stay put. Sasha is having none of it and does her best to sneak out. Of course she does and the first thing she finds out is that Felix is in danger. While she is dealing with chorts, Lilith and Nostradamus on Earth she uses her seer powers to check the status of Nero's quest.

This was awesome. Fast fun action packed read as always. In book 5 I thought the trips through the Otherlands were unnecessarily hazardous. Here the action was integral to the plot, not just added length. There were several perils and I thought the resolution to each was clever. The book also had several cool reveals. Five stars.

Hero Complex

Sasha continues her mission to keep her boss Nero alive because she realizes she does like and lust him very much. The fact that he is a strong power is irrelevant. She will perform any means to save him and her loved ones. Hence my subject: Hero Complex. She even meets her biological father and by default her biological mother. She learns time differential with other realms and checking time-specific visions. She also finds out who are the true allies and those who to be wary about. It’s a great story that keeps leading to the next adventure where she is becoming more than one “cognizant” being. I wonder if she will have three abilities instead of two. Curious to see where our authors lead us in Sasha’s adventure. I’m glad she gets the guy but for how long?

I feel like this story had fewer back-and-forth and extra side quests than the other books, but it still had many of them.

I am not happy with how it is going, it has taken too long, and the story has lost its appeal with how long it is taking. It has bypassed a story and is in the drudgery category.

I thought this was supposed to be the last one and I think I would have been okay if it ended here. But this is like DragonBall Z. It's taking too long and entire episodes seem to be charging the attack and then once it's done some new, immeasurably stronger opponent comes up without downtime.

Sasha has had her powers for less than a year across all these books?

Also, Vampires are so so so so so overpowered.

Illusionist and......

Sasha adventures continue in this book. Thanks to Nero she is now trapped in her apartment complete with guards at every escape point. A looming battle for Nero drives his need to keep Sasha safe. Lilith is conveniently available to help Sasha in a couple of attacks, what is her motive? Sasha and Nero both find they have living family. Sasha just can’t stand the thought of Nero dying but can she escape? Can she survive?

❤️❤️❤️ Formidable lecture !

Amazing, it has a bit of a cliffhanger (preview of the possible bad guy of the next book) in the last chapter, but the story of the book is quite closed

This was another great continuation of the Sasha Urban series, which is no surprise. I enjoyed this book. We find out more about Sasha's biological family and powers. The other power that shows up feels kind of sudden - not like a surprise, just like it was almost just thrown in. Aside from that, it was definitely cool to see how Sasha reacts to the new power and family situations. In regards to Lillith, you will be left wondering what her plan is, but that's a good thing. It (along with other things) keeps you wanting more, making sure you intend to read the next book in the series. We meet several new characters as well and they are given their time to shine (so to speak), while other characters take a back burner. We're not left hanging though, we at least get quick, meaningful updates so we know what's going on with them. This leads me to my main criticism of the book. Most of the big confrontations and situations happen in visions. They are not experienced physically by Sasha. The majority of the book seems to be this way. I mean, it's definitely a creative way to switch the viewpoints without actually leaving Sasha and it does let us see what is going on with other people and in other worlds. This is probably to be expected in a story about a seer though. Anyway, the pacing is great as always. The story left me anxious to see what's going to happen in the next story. I am voluntarily reviewing this book, gifted to me by the author with no obligation.

Absolutely love this series. After finishing this one I ordered the next straight away. Sasha is stuck in her apartment by a bodyguard with strict orders not to let her leave from Nero who has gone on a possible suicide mission to rescue Claudia. Sasha has no idea if Claudia is an old flame of Nero's or not. There's lots of twists and turns. Sasha is getting better at headspace and she decides to see where Nero is and if he's safe. It was a great story from the start, so much action. Can't wait for the next book.

5+ Stars!!! One of a kind series... amazing book!
This is the 6th installment of the Sasha Urban Series written by Dima Zales and Anna Zaires. Two very gifted writers, that have created a series like no other. It is a well written story that includes adventure, action, humor and even a bit of romance This book is the continuation of Sasha's story, a quirky, kick-ass, funny, independent h, who is a seer, and Nero (aka her HOT boss) plus plenty of colorful and amazing second characters. What really makes this such a good series is the Originality and Creativity of each book/story in this series! Each book includes new adventures, funny moments, and sometimes new second characters that will keep you interested and wanting to know more. I love that we get to experience the progression of the main character Sasha as she starts to unveil who she really is and where she came from. I couldn't help myself and read this book in ONE day... I am not usually an easy-to-please reader and I tell it how it is. In this case, all I can say is that I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes adventure at its best.! To the authors I say: Pretty please, don't make us wait too long for the next installment. Congrats on another great book 💚

I'm always eager to read more of Sasha's adventures - the entire series is a fast-paced, entertaining adventure and I devour each book when it comes out. In the sixth book Sasha is once again in constant danger and and she has some new characters help her out of some jams. While I missed some of the already established sidekicks I was definitely intrigued by Sasha's interactions with the newer cast. This book spent a significant amount of time in Headspace - it was an interesting and unique way for readers to know what was going on with people not physically with Sasha, but also felt a little like watching Sasha watch TV at times. The story took a huge turn that I didn't see coming and initially I was freaked out (I'm resistant to change!) but quickly came to love it. I missed Sasha's little interactions with Nero, but was definitely pleased with the few they had. Once again, the ending of the book sets up the next obstacle they will face - and it's a doozy - can't wait to see how they tackle THAT!

This book was freaking amazing! I thought book 5 was full of surprises but noooo book 6 take the cake! So many unexpected moments and when there was one reveal I thought "holy crap! That's the best shocking moment of the book!" to find out that wasn't the most shocking thing to happen! Sasha she is just soooo awesome and Nero and everyone really. Finding out about Sasha's parents in the last book it was interesting to kind of see where that left off. There's a lot of Lilith in this book which I though was cool until I realized what she was up to and now I kind of hate her a little. The ending oh my lordy! That cliffhanger ending! I don't know how things will be resolved on that front but it seems like everything kind of came full circle in this book a lot of things make sense now which I always love when things that happened or was said in previous books have relevance to future books. I can't say how much I enjoyed this book and i'm sad I now have to wait for the next one! Great read.

I received a beta copy and will update my review later if needed.

This book didn't capture my attention as quickly as the previous installment but it was excellent. One aspect I really enjoyed was the fact that we followed two plot lines during the story but one was told almost exclusively from visions. It added quite an interesting layer to the story. I was very excited about a development with Sasha AND *eyebrow waggle* the action near the end. I breeze through each book in just a couple of hours, which is great, but sometimes I wish they were a little thicker and meatier, as books are with traditional publishing. I'm anxiously awaiting Sasha and the gang tackling the next big threat in book 7.
