DOWNTOWN SHOWDOWN
Natsu is dead, Wendy is stuck in a cocoon, and both Diabolos and the enslaved members of FAIRY TAIL are running wild, threatening to destroy the orbs that prevent them from getting what they really want--Aldoron's powers! Can our heroes come back from the brink to save the Wood Dragon God? Finding out will involve startling revelations, bruising battles, and at least one case of a severely mistaken identity.
The Laxus and Erza fight carries this volume on its back. The power levels are all over the place, and there are random move sets being pulled from absolutely nowhere, but the complete unpredictability of it keeps the action interesting. However, it remains as non standout Fairy Tail material.
Erza parts are annoying. The rating is due more to my sentimentality but there are still some funny moments here and there. I really see the difference in drawings especially with Laxus. Natsu is still a firecracker but in some scenes he thinks before he acts. Refreshing for a change. Still like the volumes in general.
So, I have given this one a lower star rating than it’s fellow books in the series. If I could give 4.5 I would. The reason for this is due to the fact that not a lot really happened, and a couple of things within the story took a… very weird turn. I liked the first 1/2 of the story following Natsu and Happy, but the other characters, namely with Erza and her counterpart (if you know, you know) made me feel a little odd and uncomfortable. Still an amazing story, and will be reading the next instalment. I’m interested to see how the events unfold in the next one.
Damn, that was a true Fairy Tail fight with Erza and Laxus man. That was intense and beautiful. Also mildly terrifying. So cool!
However how this one starts off, so heart wrenching. I was so happy by the end of the ghost portion. It's nice to occassionally have a villain that is truely grey, and they don't have to be beaten to a pulp to be won over. It was very refreshing.
And can we just take a moment to acknowledge Jellal? Cause like. Everyone else is at least moderately normal, which means 100% this is Jellals thoughts (which really, does that surprise anyone?) And I can't wait for this spell to be broken to see him and Erza be awkward as fuck about it LOL.

This is another fine volume building up on Fairy Tail lore as we see Natsu visiting the spirit realm to meet the spirits of important beings from his life, a story about Markov's life once upon a time when some of the big names of the series were all younger, and if all of that isn't enough we see how How Touka meets Natsu for the first time all while fights are breaking out all over the body of the gigantic wood dragon Aldoron. It is really amazing how well it all fits in. :)
Natsu reduced to a soul and about to be devoured must find answers in time, fight friends, and discover the truth about his opponent before things can even worse. Wendy in the mean time is handling the cocoon member of Diablos, Kiria of Diablos gains a newfound respect for Fairy Tail and Laxus in particular, Jellal is ready to coerce Erza to accept the path of the white through his new found aggressive flirting, the White Mage's true form is exposed as a mistaken identity is resolved, and Cana is ready to fight...and also catch the best Fairy Pokémons. She has to catch them all but like a real Pokémon they have to be unconscious or at least weak for her to be able to capture them so people like MiraJane will have to be handled first.
I’m having the time of my life reading this, and it's honestly the best of Fairy Tail for me. The fights are very fast paced and the action never stops. It's so interesting to see the members fight each other, especially when we talk about monsters like Laxus vs Erza. It’s plain to see how much stronger they got since the very beginning of the manga, and I’m so proud of them.
I also really love how complex the psychology aspect is. Natsu is my favorite character by far, and I loved the chapter where we saw him in Heaven. Seeing him interact with Mavis and Zeleph was so pure, and the kind of fanservice I sighed for when I decided to pick up 100 years quest. But seeing Natsu so emotional in front of his father completely broke me. He grew so much in every aspect and I love him so much.
I also really loved the short part about Wraith. I loved how we got to see a bit more of Makarov’s young years, and the reveal about Wraith was so heartwarming and bittersweet. Fairy Tail truly is a family.
💫💫💫💫 - 4.5 stars bc i feel like all these new moves are literally being pulled out of their a$$ and it’s… like cheating lowkey. that being said i had a blast with this volume!! in natsu’s subconscious i cried seeing zeref and mavis!!
but erm… THAT PANEL OF LAXUS??? UH. YOU KNOW THE ONE. man. i would do anything to have been kira!! then jellal… i mean i like it but it’s so out of character. “i can handle whatever your kink is” 😭😭 and the backstory of wraith hurt me im ngl. fairytail really is a family!!
the last two chapters were so goofy. but when ERZA USED NATSU’S LINE??? SHES ALL FIRED UP NOW AND SO AM I!! i can’t wait to see how they deal with the last two orbs!!

I really enjoyed this volume. Natsu is so savage, but also so kind. He’s an interesting character. There were lots of fights. Laxus really shined. His fight with Erza was epic. I love that Fairy Tail’s monsters are so insane that other monsters from other guilds call them monsters.
Jellal and Erza are couple goals. If only they could finally get themselves to the point of being a couple. His willingness to do anything to please Erza is just fantastic. The bonus chapter at the end made me think of Saitama vs. the mosquito and made me laugh. All in all, it was a great volume and I can’t wait for the next one.
Another fun volume of Fairy Tail! The Ezra & Jellal bit was absolutely hilarious. I loved Cana being smashed and super powerful as well. But the best thing about this volume is the fight between Laxus and Erza. Their fight is so well drawn and over top, you can't even get mad that the reason for their fight is as thin as paper. Also, I really appreciated the plot twist of Touka actually being obsessed with Happy rather than Natsu.

It was a great read filled different battles between controlled Fairy Tail guild controlled by White Mage vs Dragon Eater guild vs Natzu, Grey, Erza, Wendy, Juvia, and Lucy, and revelations of Ghost dragon eater and Touka.
We find out that Jellal is trying to find the new girl for some reason. Then we cut back to them in search of the water dragon god where they realize that they need to seal and not kill the 5 dragons. Then Nastu as usual says “if they touch any of his friends he will kill them”

Of course Cana was to drunk to be hypnotized 😂 The truth about Touka was a bit funny. I hope she'll survive this. I'm interested in learning more about the wood dragon. Why does be allow people to live on him? And poor Jellal 😬
Wow, just amazing. Since is the last arc for Fairy Tail, it is completing the character development for each members and highlighting what’s their important lesson/journey so far.
