Jinty James grew up reading Enid Blyton's Famous Five and Secret Seven mysteries, as well as all the Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden books. Later on, she graduated to mysteries written by Agatha Christie, Elizabeth Peters, and many other authors. It was her dream to one day write her own cozy mystery, and now she has, with plans for many more.
This is another entertaining installment in a cute mystery series. All of the books are very short, novella length stories. The series has great characters and all of the books have been fun.
This book has Lauren, Zoe, and Annie investigating the death of the Senior Citizen's landlord. After notifying the members of the Senior Citizen Center's membership of his intent to tear down the center and sell the land, the unpleasant landlord is hit by a vehicle. Lauren and Zoe find the body ad are determined to find the killer before they become suspects.
I found this to be a very enjoyable, short book. As always, it was great to see the antics of Lauren, Zoe, and Annie.
Two Tailed Trouble by Jinty James is a cute cozy mystery. Annie is a Norwegian Forest Cat who is the hostess for her human's coffee shop - she seats customers when they arrive at the shop! I really enjoy Annie's interaction with the different regulars as they enjoy their coffee and pastry. But a cozy mystery would be a cozy mystery without a murder. This story is no exception - there is a murder and amateur sleuths are on the case.
This is a whimsical story with well developed characters and a plot that will have you trying to figure out who did the murder. I received an advance reader copy of this book and I always review every book that I read. I think you will enjoy reading it as much as I did.
Jinty James states on the back cover of this book that it was her dream to one day write her own cozy mystery with plans for many more .Well I was lucky enough to read the 4th book in the Norwegian Forest Cat Cafe Cozy Mystery series and I'm ready to read many more .I absolutely loved the characters and I really have a soft spot for Annie ( said cat) .i wish i could get escorted to a cafe table by such a gracious hostess ( read it yourself to find out what i mean by that ) This is the purrfect indulgence for fans of the genre especially if you like them with animals involved like I do .I read it in one shot and it was worth the lost shut eye . I really enjoyed my time in Gold Leaf Valley and will take some trips back there in the future . I just have to find out what Annie is up to lol .
Never underestimate the power of a senior being threatened with losing their senior center…did one of those nice, harmless people take matters into their own hands when the new property owner decided to non-renew the lease? This series always keeps me guessing who the killer is. And the showdown was really good with Annie once anticipating what Lauren was about to do after Annie dug up evidence. The series is always a good comfort read!
Another cute addition but I think I might take a break from this series.
Despite the experiences that Lauren and Zoe have had over the past several books, they seemed more childish as ever in this one. If I wasn’t told Zoe's age in this series, I would have assumed she was around 15 given her maturity level: her reaction to ‘Chris’ was completely unreasonable given the man had done nothing wrong. In real life I feel like someone as mature as Mitch would probably have dropped Lauren by now given that he seems to be being used as an infinite matchmaker with apparently no satisfactory results.
This would be a cute series for a middle-schooler just getting into murder mysteries. But it might feel a bit like babysitting for anyone else.
Two Tailed Trouble (Norwegian Forest Cat Café #4) — Jinty James (9 chapters + Epilogue) May 5-6, 2024
The Cat Café girls cater a senior center event where terrible news befalls the attendees. Afterward, the presenter with the bad news is found dead on the side of the road. Was this an accident, or did someone at the event take revenge for the awful news?
Annie finds an abandoned kitty that Ed takes a shining too, and this allows the reader to see a softer side to the burly pastry maker.
While Zoe tries to find ideas for the senior center’s dilemma, she bores with her latest craft idea, and moves on to beading.
And after several date set-ups through Mitch, perhaps Zoe has found the right guy…. until she discovers a bad history with him.
This was another episode, starring Lauren, Zoe, Annie, Mitch, and, Ed as well a bunch of senior citizens. We also have a new regular: AJ, a cute baby kitten that Annie, the Norwegian Forest cat, found, and Ed adopted. A murders occurs after a greedy man tries to shut down Gold Leaf Valley's only senior citizen center. Will Lauren, Zoe, and Annie be able to solve the case before the three of them end up dead? I gave this book 5 stars.
Annie and her humans have multiple challenges handed to them: Ed the baker of legendary pastries, finds a kitten ( with some help from Annie). Lauren and Zoe are working together to keep the Senior Center open, and Zoe may have found Officer Charming.
Cat café owner, Lauren Crenshaw, with Annie, her Norwegian Forest Cat, and Zoe, Lauren’s cousin, are catering the anniversary party at the local senior center in Gold Leaf Valley, when the greedy new landlord is killed in a hit and run.
I enjoyed revisiting with these characters. The story was great, and I did not guess the killer right away. I also enjoyed the romance in the story.
This is a really cute series. I like the idea of a cat cafe with a cat seating you. A surprise meeting for Zoe and another craft idea (oh no) and Annie found a present for Ed! I was surprised by the killer. It's really nice how this community looks out for each other. Zoe is starting to get super annoying.
Enjoyed this book look forward to the next adventure. Love the way Lauren and Zoe talk to Annie. Anyone that has a cat know that they are very smart and at times it you listen they talk to you. Good job Jintty.
This is absurd. 4 books to finish a scarf? Wanting to knit a scarf for Mitch? Doesn’t Lauren know it’s bad luck to knit something for someone? OMG. The murderer of this one was a little more unexpected. Jeez. She’s a crazy girl
Mitch and Lauren are still sweet, Annie is still otherworldly, but what has happened to Zoe?! The mystery is still structured to frustrate; they trip over the guilty party instead of sleuthing the criminal. Still, the series premise is rather unique.
Cute and funny book. I enjoy the main characters and Annie, the cat, is great. Annie finds another of her kind but the murder is about the havoc at the local community center. The story if simple but well done. I really enjoy this series. Highly recommend.
A fun read. Annie, the Norwegian Forest cat is incredibly smart and adorable. She works in the cafe greeting and seating customers, unless she’s too tired.
Such fantastic characters and I absolutely love Annie the kitty! The plot and story line was wonderful and riveting. Finished this book in one sitting. Am definitely going to keep up with this series! Love the new addition to the series, AJ, the baby kitty!!
Lauren Crenshaw along with her cousin, Zoe, and her Norwegian Forest Cat, Annie, are catering a party at the local senior center where they're welcoming the new owner. The seniors are hoping the new owner will rent them the building at the same great rate they've had but he announces that he'll be selling the building to build a new resort. When Lauren and Zoe are on their way home after the party, they come across the new owner beside his car on the side of the road where he'd been hit by a another car. Was it an accident or was it murder? Lauren, Zoe, and Annie are once again pulled into an investigation when it turns out that the man was killed.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and I have to say that I LOVED it! I am an avid reader and cat lover so I love cozy mysteries featuring cats who help solve mysteries. I also owned Or was owned by) a Norwegian Forest cat so I love reading about Annie. Two Tailed Trouble was a well-written, smooth read that hooked me from beginning to end. We got to get to know the characters better and even had a surprise that had nothing to do with the mystery. I highly recommend this fabulous book and the series which I recommend reading in order.
Another enjoyable entry in the Norwegian Forest Cat Cozy Mystery series. Light, easy to read with touches of romance, quirky characters and not forgetting delicious cupcakes.
Annie likes keeping in touch with her new friend AJ
A tremendous read. Loved it and the fact that Annie was so much more involved but that she got a new friend AJ, the kitten. The scene with the phone was a classic. A plot that revolves around seniors, their community centre and the death of the developer who wants to tear it down as he has inherited the plot after the death of his father. But who ran him down? His wife who fears he is going for an upgrade? One of the seniors? The assistant manager? As the girls investigate Annie picks up a new friend and Zoe is still looking for the One - both in hobbies and Mr Right. Can they find the killer before they strike again as one of the senior's has already had the brakes cut on their walker?
Two Tailed Trouble is the 4th book in Jinty James's, A Norwegian Forest Cat Cafe Cozy Mystery Series... Lauren & Zoe are back with Annie their Norwegian Forest cat to solve another murder mystery.
The series keeps getting better with each book as Ms. James further develops the characters and the world they live in. I love how she weaves Annie into the story and shows the bond of the 2 main female characters growing their business together while helping the local senior citizens keep their center open and solve the murder of a developer that wanted to take it away. I am ready for the next story!
