The Confectioner's Guild

A magic cupcake. A culinary killer. The perfect recipe for murder.

Wren knew her sweet treats could work wonders, but she never knew they could work magic. She barely has time to wrap her head around the stunning revelation when the head of the prestigious Confectioner’s Guild falls down dead before her. Poisoned by her cupcake.

Now facing murder charges in a magical world she doesn’t understand, Wren must discover the true killer or face the headsman’s axe. But when her search for clues leads to a deep-rooted conspiracy that goes all the way to the top, she realizes that the guild master isn’t the only one at risk of death by chocolate.

If Wren can’t bring the powerful culprit to justice, she and her friends will meet a bittersweet end.

The Confectioner's Coup

Wren thought things were bad when her boyfriend's father tried to frame her for murder. But that was before a hostile army showed up at the city gates, ready to swallow Maradis whole. And before guild members began disappearing one by one--including the Confectioner's Guild's newest Gifted recruit.

Wren, suspecting the king is to blame for the disappearances, undertakes a dangerous investigation that sets her on a collision course with old and new enemies alike. Will she be able to find the missing guild members before tensions boil over into outright rebellion? Or are the guilds willing to go further than she ever realized to rid themselves of the king's tyranny...

The Confectioner's Truth

A deadly new enemy rules Alesia with an iron fist--and an unnatural interest in the magic of the Confectioner's Guild. Betrayed by one of their own, Wren and her few remaining allies flee Maradis to secure whatever aid they can find.

But new dangers and old ghosts lurk around every corner, forcing Wren to confront truths she thought she'd buried deep long ago. Will Wren be able to piece together an alliance, and enough of her own shattered heart, to take back her home from those who hold it hostage? Or will her magic prove too tempting a morsel for her enemies to refuse...

The Confectioner's Exile

Hale Firena has everything--looks, money, power, more girls than he knows what to do with. But in one night everything changes, as a bloody coup turns Hale into a penniless refugee on the run for his life.

Hale's not cut out for real life--the thought of holding down a real job is almost more horrible than the pirates and bandits chasing him.

The Confectioner’s Chronicles is fast paced fantasy series with a lot of mystery, political intrigue, some action and adventure and themes of friendship and family. Claire Luana immersed me into this world of magical food with great characters.

The series follows Wren Confectioner, a sixteen year old girl that’s been dealt a rough card in life so far, and things seem to be turning around as she’s moving up to the main guild because of her magical cupcake to make good things happen to their consumers…until she’s accused of murdering the guild master. Things mostly spiral down from there. I related with Wren as the story progressed; her dark past is unveiled slowly throughout the series, with new elements added in with each installment. However, she’s determined and full of optimism, thinking on her feet and faces her trials head on despite the self doubt, which makes her enduring.

I also love Hale; his interactions with Wren were some of my favorite parts of the series, especially in Coup, with great platonic chemistry with banter and serious moments. Though by the end, he broke my heart in more ways than one. The rest of the supporting cast rounded out the cast well; the other Guild members each had their own personality and added something to the story. The members of the political class were all interesting to read through, though it’s a big message about power corrupting absolutely. Other characters also bring their own to the table to help in the overall plot, with lots of character growth for each of them.

Trust is at the core of the series, as there’s a lack of it going around in some places, with good reason. And we see how fragile it is, what happens when it’s lost and how powerful it can really be.

I liked the setting of this world, with the main city of Maradis and the kingdom of Alesia, inspired by Luana’s hometown of Seattle and surrounding area, but more of a pre-industrial fantasy version of it with cobbled roads and horse carriages, etc. I’m sure those of you familiar with the region can see the winks and nods. It also adds a nice “get to know the author a bit” factor, which is always good. The other portions of the world were really nice as well. The prose is vivid and simple to read and kept me hooked throughout the series.

The plot is fast moving and the mix of magical food, a variety of mystery and suspense along with political conflict that doesn’t bog the story and is actually interesting. It has lots of twists and turns and I was stunned in a good way with most of the twists as all the clues made sense by the end and wasn’t too hard to follow. The romances in the series didn’t feel shoehorned in and were done well with the rest of the story.

Although I’ve gone in depth in the individual reviews, I’ll do the short version here.

First we have The Confectioner's Exile: The Confectioner Chronicles Prequel Novella, which takes place five years before the rest of the series and follows Hale, one of the other confectioners in the guild and important supporting character, following a life changing event that led him to the guild. It’s fast paced with action, though there’s not a lot of mystery in this one. I understood Hale and his struggles and he’s forced to grow up fast, while using his gift of good luck. It also expands on the world and conflict of the series in ways that the main series isn’t able to.

The Confectioner's Guild was for the most part, a magical murder mystery, figuring out who killed the Confectioner’s Guild’s headmaster. It’s a great introduction to the world with breadcrumbs everywhere and sets up the rest of the series nicely with it’s own arc wrapped up. It’s a great opener to the series.

I loved The Confectioner's Coup as a sequel, which is more thriller/political focused (which was hinted in the first book), and I believe its Luana’s best book to date with great pacing without bogging down in recap, plot twists and curveballs everywhere, and that cliffhanger ending. We also get Hale’s PoV starting with this one.

The Confectioner's Truth was a great climax and wrap up to the series, building up to an epic conclusion, with more lands being explored and more PoV introduced, partly because the cast is split up. There’s a lot of character growth, and more insight on what’s going on. The climax and ending was satisfying and a great send off to the characters and the end of a great series.

Overall, it’s a genre mashup of Fantasy and Mystery/Suspense and political intrigue and a wild ride that’s not to be missed! I always recommend this to my friends online!

It’s not bad....but it’s also not great

I had a really hard time caring very much about any of the characters. The magic system is odd...over all, it is a great idea that is, unfortunately, only half baked.

The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series by Claire Luana is a unique YA fantasy, thriller, romance series that is full of magic and the unusual and should not be missed. It is also a murder mystery that is action packed and well paced. Claire weaves her magic with just the right amount of mystery and suspense, action and danger, romance and intrigue, heartache and love, humour and fun. I enjoyed the story so much that it finished before I was ready and I didn’t even notice because I was so enthralled to find out what was going to happen next.
In book 1 Wren was falsely accused of murder by cupcake and has a month to find out who framed and who the actual murderer is and clear her name.

In book 2 Wren having barely survived, she is having to face enemies, both old and new as she tries to solve the mystery behind disappearing Guild members.

In book 3 Wren is heartbroken and still reeling from the loss and betrayal of others. On the run, tired, scared, hurt and faced with her past all the while the political unrest continues and Wren wonders if she will ever have her family back and lead a normal life again.

This series should be on everyone's reading list. I mean books in one stop what could be better.

The Confectioner Chronicles is a four-book series by author Claire Luana.

Wren is a confectioner apprentice working in a confection shop. When a mysterious man shows up asking questions about her cupcakes, she is unsure of who he is or what she wants. Reluctantly she goes with him to meet the GuildMaster and thrown into a world she never knew existed and discovers an ability she never knew she possessed.

But when the Guild Master is poisoned after eating of her cupcakes, she only has a limited time to prove her innocence and find out who really framed her before the king’s inquisitor arrives.

With this, Wren learns more about herself as overcomes the obstacles that are put in her way.

This is an interesting fantasy filled with mystery story with many twists and twists as well as fun characters.

Being such a wild ride, the reader will be hooked from the beginning.

This is a young adult set of novels (and one short story) and, as I haven't been a young adult for many years, take that into account for my review.

I mostly enjoyed these books. The heroine is appealing and the action keeps your attention. My major objection (and why it gets 3 stars instead of 4) is that, while the magic is a very interesting concept, it just really isn't developed or used to move the story along. The only point where it's actually relevant is where it's used by the major villain in the 3rd book. Otherwise, it's just background noise. Some confectioners, including our heroine, Wren, and other food creators, have the ability to infuse their creations with magic which manifests when eaten or drunk. The King has claimed all infused goods for himself to use in defense of his Kingdom & throne. The creators are all in Guilds who provide those goods, but never use them themselves. This seems highly unlikely; I mean, who wouldn't sneak some of the good stuff?

Still, this would be okay but it is *never* clear how these goods actually help the King, who is overthrown, or how they help anyone - even when they are finally used by the Guildmembers as they try to regain the throne for the heir.

The romance in this story is suitable for all audiences (there is a gay romance, too, if that matters to you), but it really irritated me that every time our heroine and hero were reunited after separation, they threw themselves into each others arms for a long kiss -- even in the midst of a battle!

There's also the point where the heroine does the most stupid thing possible and is bailed out by coincidence but then is consumed by guilt over it. But I suppose teenagers are still impulsive and don't always make good choices, right?

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

The series stars well enough with an interesting premise; magic in baked goods! It's fascinating, and the first book quickly ushers everyone to the dinner table with the murder of the head of the guild. But then the first course is served, seasoned though a little bland, and the wine is sour with the main character's standard trope of everything bad in the universe always happening to her, and the rest of the meal just becomes worse after that. Until, finally, you're handed a half scoop of mud coated with a pound of sugar and told it's the best thing ever.

The books have an interesting skeleton with their magic users, but the flesh is tacked on in an attempt to look like murder mysteries and political revolution, but all it really ever comes down to is painfully crafted romance plots. Nothing else really seems to matter but the romance, and it's the variety of romance that maybe a young reader would find fascinating but the rest of us are left with a tooth ache over how sappy and sugary it all is. It takes what could have been interesting and just shrugs and says a lukewarm bowl of mushroom broth is as good as the steak dinner with sides that was on the menu.

From the over description of clothes every time a wardrobe change is performed, and you will always know, down to the detail, what every character is wearing, to everything revolving around 'true love is best' and 'true loves saves the day' at the end, this is a series where the syrup fermented and went bad, and leaves the taste of vinegar and relief in the mouth once it is finally over.

To be clear, the first book is a fantasy murder-mystery, the second book is the characters from the previous book preparing for war, and the third book is them facing the mistakes they made in the second book.

I have only read the first three books, and the stories were absolutely incredible. The mystery, romance and fantasy elements intertwine perfectly, and the world was so real. Every character was relatable in some way, from the main character, Wren, to Callidus (her suspect) and even Iris Greer, Guildmaster Kasper’s killer. However, there were some typos that I’m going to blame on the proofreader, and I found the use of dashes rather than commas a little disconcerting. All in all, an incredible read with great world-building, realistic relationships and an excellent plot, full of exciting twists and turns that kept me guessing the whole way through. Would recommend.

I loved this whole series. Claire Luana has created a fascinating world in which food preparers are able to install magic into their cuisine. One might be able to add luck, another strength, another the openness to love.

Put them all together, though, and you could create a super-being-- but at what cost? Confectioner Wren and her colleagues, friends and love interests all have to work together to save their kingdom and allow them to make the foods they love.

A very light hearted and fun series.

Wonderful world building. I was totally sucked in.

I read the first book, The confectioners guild, and fell in love with the world. The sequels are page turners and it has a great ending. It’s wonderful having the whole set together like this. I am very grateful to the author for her imagination.

Not quite what expected

The first book was great. The rest, not so much. I don't like sexual references. It also got pretty dark, and the editing deteriorated. Apart from that, it was a good, gripping story. Don't think I will get more of her work. Sad, as I really liked the first book.

Great for every age

I’m in my seventies, and would have loved these books just as much as a teenager. The characters are rounded enough to be engaging and the world here is believable . . . except with magic, which makes it more fun.

Great trilogy!

This complete series was a fascinating read. I think I skipped over it previously as it was labeled "mystery", but IMO it was more a magical adventure type story.
Wren's story is definitely worth reading and the world the author created was in depth and intriguing.

Skepticism rewarded!

I had my doubts. A book about a baker? Well, it was not just a book. It was actually an exciting tale around a very creative idea. I will be reading Claire’s other series next!

I have truly loved every single book in the Confectioner Chronicles so far. I am all the way up to the fourth book and was so excited to find out that there is a box set with all these gems together for me to snag. I also grabbed a few for some fellow reader friends of mine. Below is the review of each book I have had the chance to devour so far. I am off to dive into the fourth book right now! Happy reading!

The Confectioner's Guild (The Confectioner Chronicles, #1)
Enchanted & cloyingly sweet! I absolutely loved every second I spent with Wren! Claire Luana was a completely new author to me, but I can assure you this will soon be remedied. I have become enthralled with the magical writing skills that she possesses. First, I must start with this amazing cover. I was drawn in with its beautiful colors and enchanting design. Who wouldn’t want to find out what lays behind that? Given I hadn’t known the author previously, I simply went in blind, and wasn’t I pleasantly pleased!

Do not be fooled however. This isn’t so sweet and wholesome as it looks. Hence my cloyingly description. Wren is the very best of bakers. She enjoys what she does and it comes out in her baking. She loves being in her little corner of the world making her masterpieces. Unfortunately, when the Guildmaster calls you must oblige. So oblige she does. This is where things go a bit awry. As mentioned in the teaser his is poisoned and she is to blame! Why would simple and sweet Wren poison the Guildmaster!?

Well this has left her in a tortuous bind. She has merely ONE month to collect her proof that she did not commit the crime she has been accused of or else… To make matters worse she has no alliances and no family now when she needs them the most. What will she do? The journey she will take will be sure to keep you engaged and entertained well beyond your bedtime. I know it did for me. I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on the next book, ‘The Confectioner’s Exile.’ Thanks so much for such a fantastic read Claire Luana!

The Confectioner's Coup (Confectioner Chronicles, #2)
I have to say first and foremost that the covers that accompany the series of the Confectioner Chronicles are just stunning. In fact it was the cover of the first book, The Confectioner’s Guild, that first drew me into this series and sucked me into the world that Wren lives in. Like I have mentioned this is a series and The Confectioner’s Coup is the second book. I would read the first book as well as the prequel,The Confectioner’s Exile.

I could sit and talk about this book all day. Both storyline and reasons why I loved it. Each one of these books have progressively gotten better than the one before it and this one was not exception to the rule. The Confectioner’s Coup had a bit of it all; mystery, intrigue, suspense, fantasy, and just a sprinkle of romance to top it all off.

The story picks up about a month from where it left off in the last book. Wren faces more trouble in her life just as she finally gets herself out of the mess she found herself in in book one. (That detail would be a spoiler if you don’t read book one.) The King is back and still wreaking havoc. And best of all… there is another perfectly timed cliffhanger that will leave you hungry for that third book, The Confectioner’s Truth, I know I am. Thanks for another great read Ms. Luana.

The Confectioner's Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3)
The Confectioner’s Truth is the final book in The Confectioner Chronicles by Claire Luana. It is the final gorgeous cover and the final magical visit that we will get and I am so book depressed. When I first started this series a few months ago I immediately got swept up into this world that Luana had created so vividly and I have been enamored ever since. The way these covers scream magic and adventure the story lives up inside with an incredible world-building. I almost felt as if I was within the novel itself, something I absolutely love.

The magic, action, and adventure continues for Wren a couple weeks after the second book, The Confectioner’s Coup. I would highly recommend that you read these books in order, including the prequel because this is as mentioned a finale to a series. We meet a lot of new characters, get some new romances, unexpected tears, and a conclusion to remember. I can’t wait to see what will come next from Claire Luana! I am sure it will be outstanding.

The Confectioner Chronicle by Claire Luana
5 stars!!!!!

I have to say that this series is a really great read. Whether you are sat on a beach or just relaxing at home this is a perfect read. I enjoyed this series a lot even though it wasn't my go to genre. I really like how the author was able to weave just enough drama and intrigue into the story. Each book blends right with the one before it.

Book 1
The Confectioner's Guild (The Confectioner Chronicles book 1) by Clarie Luana

What can I say but I absolutely have fallen for this series. The author has such a unique way of
bringing the characters to life and I felt as though I was actually in the story. The refreshing
way that you are drawn into the book and just feel as though you are escaping into the world that the author has developed. I just couldn't put this book down.

I really felt drawn to Wren from the very start. The drama that unfolds around her brings you to
the edge of your seat with anticipation. I liked how the author was able to not only throw in drama and intrigue but also weaved in just the touch of romance to boot. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Wren, Sable and Hale. Into the mix you have the chemistry between Wren and Lucas. The whole dynamic just adds to the intrigue in the book. I really cannot wait for the next book in this series. To get to delve more into the lives of the Confectioners and their world alongside the other guilds and see where the magic leads.

Book 2
The Confectioner's Coup (Confectioner Chronicles Book 2) by Claire Luana

I am once again no let down. This is the second book in this series and the third book including the prequel to the series that I have read. The author really has such a great way of grabbing the reader and keeping you at the edge of your seat. I really found myself getting lost in this magical confectioner's world she has created.

Book 3
The Confectioner's Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3) by Claire Luana

I couldn't wait to get delved into this book and boy I wasn't disappointed. This is the third book in the series and fourth one I have read by this author. The books just keep getting better and better. I was drawn in from the first page and couldn't put the book down.

The author does such a wonderful job of keeping the drama going from book to book. There seems to be a smooth transition from the fist straight through to the third book in this series. To get to follow more the lives of Wren and her fellow confectioners as the head into the pending war kept me glued to the edge of my seat. The way that the drama unfolds keeps your attention. I wasn't disappointed as I continued to read as the drama unfolded in this book. I really will be reading more from this author in the future and hopefully there will be more in this series.

I have to say that the more I read about Wren's life the more I really find I am drawn to her character. She has gone through so much in her short time in the Guild and then to have to endure more. She is a very strong leading character and the author does such a great job of developing her character around the drama that unfolds. I really felt all the emotions vicariously as Wren went through them and in this book she has a roller coaster of them. She winds up losing so much and yet she still has Lucas. I really felt my heart in my throat as the book came to the ending and once again to have the book on a cliff hanger of sorts really has me anxious for the next book in the series. I will definitely be reading more from this author and the series.

The characters just seem to jump right out of the pages and into your imagination. I felt as though I was part of the action as it all unfolded. I really found the concept of the series to be quite unique and refreshing. The story is quite well written and easy to read. I definitely recommend this sereies and this author.

The Confectioners Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series
By Claire Luana

The Confectioner’s Guild (The Confectioner Chronicles Book 1)
The Confectioner’s Guild by Claire Luana is the first book in the Confectioner Chronicles series. I have to say I loved the prequel and this book is written just as well. The writing style of this author is quite enjoyable. The series is aimed at the YA readers but can be enjoyed by us adults as well. The author has made the characters in this book quite enjoyable and its was a pleasure to have read this book and I do look forward for more instalments. In this book we have mystery, magic and cooking. Not your normal mixture in a book but it works well. So, grab yourself a copy of the book and have an enjoyable time in getting to know not only the characters but the authors wonderful way of telling a story.

The Confectioner’s Coup
The Confectioners Coup is the second book in the Confectioner Chronicles series by Claire Luana. If you enjoyed the first book, then this book will not disappoint you at all. Get yourself ready to meet new characters which you will either like or dislike, but they help make this book enjoyable. I will say this book contains so much sadness and may take you on a roller coaster of emotions. But on saying that it has a few twists and turns that you want to keep turning the page. Book one is my favorite so far in this series, but I am looking forward to book three and a nicer ending.

The Confectioner’s Truth
The Confectioner’s Truth is the third and final book this series. Please don’t start with book three I wouldn’t recommend them read a standalone. We have the pleasure of meeting some new characters in this book, each one I feel enhances the storyline. Wren went through some time in self-doubt and tries to learn from mistakes she has made. Will she be able to learn and not make the same mistakes again? The only thing I did question was why so many couples, but all in all I enjoyed the book. The thing I liked about this series is I found most of the characters to have their own strengths, I could be wrong but that’s my personal opinion! I really liked how Claire just kept building up this series, sometimes I find the last book in a series to be disappointing, but not with this book. The Confectioner’s Truth has ended this series perfectly. I would also recommend anyone and everyone to read this series, you won’t be disappointed.

The Confectioner’s Exile: The Confectioner Chronicles Prequel Novella
The Confectioner’s Exile is the prequel in the Confectioners Chronicles series by Claire Luana. This novella you find will be a nice quick read and you will find it gives the background of Hale and when he joined the guild. Yes, this novella is short, but you will still find twists and turns, love and some adventure. I did enjoy the novella and I am looking forward to reading more in the series.

I absolutely loved this series. It contains 4 books and I highly recommend reading them all in order.

The Confectioner’s Guild -
This one was so unique and the added suspense and mystery had me hooked from page 1 and the last 25% of the book I was on the edge of my seat wondering how in the world she was going to make this all work...Brilliant is just one of the words that come to mind. So many things happen in this story that I'm not even going to try to sum it up

The Confectioner’s Exile -
After reading the Confectioner’s Guild book 1 in this series it was completely awesome to go back and read Hale’s story. I don't normally like doing this but it worked perfectly for me in this case. I was able to get a much better understanding of who Hale is and where he came from, and the lessons and the tragic losses he experienced along the way.

The Confectioner’s Coup -
This was the continued story of Wren and I loved it as much as the first part of this series. She just can't win when it comes to staying out of the line of fire with being framed for murder and getting out of that to now suspecting the king of being behind guild members being kidnapped and now the enemy has entered the city.
There was some parts of this story that made me so angry and then parts that were so so sad. You don't really ever know what your gonna get when you open up one of this authors books and I love that.

The Confectioner’s Truth -
There was a lot going on in this story, we met a lot of new people and visited many new places..I loved this part and I felt as if I was right there with Wren as she was making quick decisions and having a lot of inner battles...I found myself trying to help her and felt like I was feeling everything she was. This character has grown so much through these books and I have totally fallen in love with her, and poor Hale...I miss what feels like the old days with Hale and now there he is regretting so many things, this made me sad.

This author has done an amazing job with this series. I've loved every word and every page of all of these books. I absolutely can not wait to read them all again!! She ended this series beautifully and in my humble opinion sets the bar high for any other books in this genre.

Brilliant and I can't wait to read what is to come from this author!! This is one of those books/series that deserves so much more than 5 stars.

The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series by Claire Luana is a fun series to read. I recommend reading them in order because the series is in chronological order.
The first book in the series The Confectioner's Guild starts the series. This book is full of mystery, magic, and cooking. Wren is an amazing cook and soon finds herself in the Confectioner's Guild. Here she learns more about herself and that she has special magical powers. After the death of the head of the guild after eating her cupcake she learns more about not only herself but this guild that she has been brought into. The characters are well written and the story drew me in from the beginning. Not only is Wren a great character but there are also many others.
The second book is The Confectioner's Coup continues this series. The story continues for Wren and things are not looking good for her and others in the guild. Guild members are going missing and the King is out of control. I have enjoyed this as well as the first book and the novella. The writing is well written and entertaining. This is a twist and turn thriller that at times kept me on the edge of my seat.
The Confectioner's Truth is the third book. The story continues with Wren and the members of the guild. There is a new ruler who is beyond bad. He rules like a madman and things are not stable for anyone. I recommend reading the other books in the series. The characters have grown and matured through the course of the series. I enjoy Wren because she is not cocky or self-centered. She is unsure of herself and does not always make the best decisions. She is rash at times and at other times she is centered and in total control. These traits make her easy to relate. There are many past characters who are back and some new ones as well.
The Confectioner's Exile by Claire Luana is a prequel novella to The Confectioner Chronicles. This is the backstory of Hale Firena and his life. He has always had everything he could possibly want but his life changes drastically. He must learn how to survive without relying on others. I really enjoyed this prequel and read it before I read book 1. The writing is great and the action was also good. After reading this novella I was even more excited to read the series.

The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series contains all the instalments of The Confectioner’s Chronicles by Claire Luana. This is a really wonderful, imaginative and beautifully written series- with fantasy, mystery, magic, intrigue, adventure, danger, suspense, humour, fun, heartache, tension, conflict, hostile enemies, disappearances, investigations, romance, food, surprises, twists, drama, and action. I have adored all Ms. Luana’s books, and this series is no exception! She really knows how to weave a spellbinding story that hooks her readers right from the beginning.

The series consists of:
-The Confectioner’s Guild (Book #1)
-The Confectioner’s Coup (Book #2)
-The Confectioner’s Truth (Book #3)
-The Confectioner’s Exile (Prequel Novella)

The characters are so beautifully crafted- quirky, fully realised individuals who continued to develop and grow over the course of the series. They were so enchanting and added an extra element of appeal and interest to the whole story.
Ms Luana has created a unique and wonderful world in which to set her story. Her imagination seems to know no bounds as she brings so many creative and unique elements to her storylines. It’s so wonderfully written- full of visual texture and intricate detailing. The story is complex- with many layers, all beautifully interwoven and stitched together quite seamlessly to produce these delightful reads.

All I can say is WOW- this series is well worth the read!

Thank you, Ms. Luana!

The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series
By: Claire Luana
5 out of 5 stars

This is a series that I loved reading. It has all four of the stories in the Confectioner Chronicle series that are fun and entertaining to read. It has wonderful characters that I fell in love with and wanted them to succeed in whatever they did. There is action, danger, romance, and suspense in these books. There are times when I was turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. I loved the character of Wren. She is strong, intelligent, and independent. Her story is one that pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until I read the final page of the final story. This is a YA fantasy novel and I loved how the books included magic and mystery. Besides Wren, there are other characters that I grew to care about and enjoyed reading about them and their interactions with Wren. Many of them are helpful to her. Then there are those with their own agenda what will do anything to make their plans and agenda happen. Don’t miss out on an exciting series that you won’t be able to put down. I highly recommend it. The stories that are included in this set are The Confectioner’s Guild/The Confectioners Coup/The Confectioner’s Truth/The Confectioner’s Exile.

A great series about luck. In the Confectioners Guild, Wren is a simple confectioner who gets the chance of the lifetime that comes with a terrible price when the guildmaster is killed and she is blamed for it. In the Confectioners Coup, an army arrives on Maradis and guildmasters start mysteriously disappearing and Wren and her friends search for the truth. In the Confectioners Truth, a new enemy rules over the land and Wren and her friends go on the run trying to flee the new regime. Can Wren and her friends survive it all
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn't put down. Well developed characters like Wren wanting to belong somewhere or Lucas' kindheartedness or the humourous Hale or the stern Callidus.
A brilliant example of world building in a fantasy world with its rules and societies and geography and history that was detailed with care for the audience to imagine. The idea of magic bakers was a fun and fantastic idea and was a brilliant addition to the fantasy genre. The passion for baking in Wren was a lovely touch. Fast paced action and high stakes in a wonderful fantasy world made for a captivating read. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars
