The new material and innovative graphics present the utilization-focused evaluation process as a complex adaptive system, incorporating current understandings about systems thinking and complexity concepts. The book integrates theory and practice, is based on both research and professional experience, and offers new case examples and cartoons with Patton's signature humor.

Not truly sure how to rate this book. It's awful -- as every textbook is. For every nugget of useful information there is an entire chapter of wasted space. That said, for someone new to a leadership role this has some valuable insights about evaluation. The audience for a book like this is very small so if you are picking it up to read it you likely have a solid reason. Good luck!
