She's a mom, a coffee addict, a collector of quirky coffee mugs, and before she had kids, she was a real-life full-contact fighter.
Her experience on the fight circuits helped her pen her first ever book—Finding Home—featuring a world champion MMA fighter Bobby Kincaid, and his leading lady and equal in every way, Kit Reilly. What was only supposed to be a once off experience instead turned into a career for Emilia, a thriving empire, and a daily grind she never wants to be rescued from.

do i like meg and marc? yes. was a duet for their story necessary? i don't think so. i really loved them, they made me laugh and cry (crying stay winning btw) but i also think that their story could have been wrapped in a single book.
as i see it this book was a way to say goodbye to the series and these characters, to have a little more drama in that small town and some funny moments with the gang. and i enjoyed it that way. i really love this universe that emilia created with these characters, they're my babies and i can't leave them :(
"I'm so in love with you, Meg. You just took my life and smashed it open. You just gave me a family, Meg. I don't know if you know what that means to me." "I do know. And I'm so in love with you too, Marc. I'm not going anywhere."
That's it. The last book in a series I fell deeply in love with. From Finding Home and the Rollers to Take A Chance On Me and the guys and the band, this was one of the most beautiful journeys.
This is also my first 5-star Emilia Finn book, and if I could I would rate it higher. This book made me sob, cry, laugh, smile, cry some more; so much emotion hidden in these 300 pages. I wish I could forget everything and read it again for the first time.
I'm going to miss them all so much. X, Jules, Scotch, Sammy, Oz, Lindsi, Marc, Meg, Ang, Luc, Kari. They deserve all the happiness and love this world has to offer. These characters, along with the rollers, will always have a special place in my heart.
Spoilers are coming eventually. Read at your own risk.
So, I said in the prior book that this book would make or break the story of Marc and Meg. And I was right. Since it's the conclusion. I was also right that it broke it. And I had a feeling that it would. Because I felt like the story was going downhill in the prior book. This book did not help.
For a while, it wasn't doing too bad though. I was enjoying the story of them. But it did feel very similar to Rollin on all around. And then when the obvious "walking in on his little sister with his best friend" was coming, that was also very much like Britt and Jack being caught in rollin on. So it did not feel very unique or original for the author or the overall group of characters as we have already seen this plot and we have already seen how it goes down. The best friend gets the beat down and takes it and the sibling holds a grudge until he doesn't. In this case, because we had already seen it go down. It seemed excessive. And even Meg wasn't able to get him to see reason until the baby finally came. And that storyline was also very similar to what we already saw with Roland on as well. So it just felt like a lot of recycled spots and nothing really truly new. Sure, her husband stole from her and whatnot, but that's really not unusual.
What I did find unusual was the fact that the husband basically completely got away with it. Sure, he's going to jail for like 7 years. But otherwise, he remains unscathed and when he gets out assuming his baby mama is still around, he'll get all that money back. They also seem to gloss over him at the very end. He was trespassing and taking pictures, God only knows why. And was arrested and then we don't hear about him until the very end of the book where he lost the fraud case, got jail, and she isn't getting any money back. What about her house? That was fraudulently transferred and an illegal deed, she should have gotten the house back to be able to sell it.
Too many loopholes and typos. For reading the other books in the series, this book is definitely not set in Australia or Europe. It seems to be United States based. So using non-American terms makes me cringe so hard! Based on context in the book, I understood that Maccas was McDonald's. Nobody here calls it that. It's mac's steak house if anything. Or mickey D's. But Australian slang term of Maccas? Definitely not. And the show CHiPs has a lower case s. That made me cringe too since they got the "i" correct.
Overall, as I've said with other books by the author, the location details are vague. Everything is 5-10 min away with this single stop light town. But there seems to be a lot of people in and passing through the town considering it's so small. And the season of the town seems more north than south and somewhere east. But without having a location, it makes it harder to picture. Even a made up name in Vermont or some random state is better than nothing.
The author seems to do research on some character back stories (premie baby, etc) but is generally inconsistent overall.
I am semi-curious about the twins stories, because it was obvious to me that Laine was being distanced from the family and based on her book snippet, it seems like a lot of abuse was endured. But then that's just recycling the background stories of Tina and Sammy. So I don't feel the need to go read it right now. Maybe I'll read another book or two and come back and read their stories and maybe Riley/Andi to wrap up the characters I've come to learn more about and get involved with, who knows?
Only Emilia Finn could write a book that has you both full on ugly crying in a pile of tissues and peeing your pants with laughter all while having your heart completely stolen. The conclusion to Marc and Meg’s story is even more epic than the first book! Fair warning, I was not exaggerating that ugly cry. I may have been cussing Emilia up and down in my head for a bit as the tissues piled up around me but these two are worth every tear. She did such an exceptional job of writing about something so incredibly hard there is no way around the fact it’s going to rip your heart right out. That said She puts your heart back together in the best way possible so hold tight and keep going on the the ride that is Marc and Meg! Surprisingly these two are one of my favorite couples ever from her. One of. Jack and Britt still hold the number one spot. The trials these two go through only serve to prove just how amazingly strong their love really is. It’s not all hard hitting emotion and tears though. Not with this crew! The tight knit bonds of family and friendship that make Emilia’s books so addictive are as present as ever in Take A Chance On Me resulting in some serious laugh until you cry, look like a crazy person, and pee your pants moments that are entirely unforgettable. Along with some serious heart warming, make you happy smile, and want to hug a book feel good to round it all out.
Finally, part 2 of the Meg & Marc saga I understand the stress that Marc is under but the abuse he put on Luc is ridiculous. He almost killed him! & then he wasn't even remorseful, he actually said he should've done more. In my mind that's not cute or "oh Marc, that's how he deals" thats beyond messed up and he should've gone to jail. Friends or nor, there's no coming back from that. "Remove him from this station before you let me out, X. I can’t promise I won’t finish what I started.” I honestly couldn't make Marc a good guy in my brain after all of this. Meg is supposed to be 30+ years old (were reminded more than once) but some of her actions reek of immaturity and seem like they're done by a 16 year old. I had a hard time relating to her until about 3/4 way through the book.
I would love a Kari and Luc story though ❤
The wedding speeches and the ending of the book were so fun to me. It brought a lot of humor. Not my favorite of the series (or its corresponding)
Holy Hell!!! Man this book floored me from the start. Some folks don't like cliff-hangers but when it's a full on story I am good with it and when it calls for it like this one did I have no complaints. Meg and Marc's story is emotional, intense, explosive, hell she can be pretty scary when she wants to be but it's all a cover for the Meg that only Marc sees. So when she finds out she's pregnant and they both go thru 2 weeks of hell and the big secret comes out, it's all more than anyone should take. This is a story that takes an emotional chunk out of everyone. Actions and decisions split them between support, loyalty and love as decisions are made. Marc and Meg aren't the only ones facing challenges and some challenges are harder than others.
Ms Finn. . . well this read shook me to the core and was a very emotional read. Some really dicey subjects are dealt with and even for the characters it's not an easy one. This author poured it all out here and does an amazing job of keeping it real. Absolutely loved it from start to finish, the tears, the pain, the confusion, the decisions, the love, the support, their story.
This is book six of the Survivor Series and book two of the Marc and Meg duet, this book is also tied to the Rollin On series by the same author Emilia Finn.
This book starts right where the previous book ends. You revisit some characters from book 1 of the Rollin On series through the last book of the Survivor Series. Meg likes to piss off Marc and Marc likes to piss off Meg, but underneath it, all there is love and a life. This book will make you cry, it will make you love Marc, and it will make you laugh. There are times you want to shake them. Marc and Luc have issues that shake their foundation.
The character development was really good and well thought out, it built of the knowledge that the reader had from previous books. Unlike previous books this one does not center on all the other characters, this one is compact, it centers on the Marc and his family.
This book has a HEA and it does not have a cliffhanger.
WOW!! Talk about an emotional rollercoaster.. Finn starts this story off with heartache, serious decisions, truths and freedom of choice. The beginning of this story will make you cry but by the end you will be laughing, smiling and have all those goodie feelings. Absolutely loved Marc and Meg they are perfect for eachother. Book one of their story was awesome but book two is amazing. I am lovely this author, her characters she created in her fictional world. I love that Finn leaves the end of the story with a situation that we have to guess what happens next. Did the band and Benny get in trouble with Alex and Oz? I hope we get that answered soon. I am still trying to figure who won the match between Bobby and Jack.. I personally think it was a tie and I hope we get a rematch or at least the details on their one arm match. I highly recommend this story and series. Happy Reading!!
Still don't like Meg. I have been in her shoes but the reverse. She had everyone supporting her even though they hated her decision. I had no one supporting me, no one respecting my desires and everyone forcing me to make a decision I didn't want to make. I cried for every single character in the first third of this book. Even Meg and I really don't like her. I felt for each and every character and understood every single thing they felt about the situation. I wanted to hug them all. The last 2/3 of this book was hilarious. I was laughing my butt off. I adore Marc. I still don't like Meg but I am glad that they got the HEA. This book talks about a very poliltically charged topic and I believe that no one will ever truly understand this topic unless they have to live through it.
I saved my review for book two so I could have the full story. Book one took me forever to get through, and though I read this one a little more quickly, I still slowed down around the 60% mark.
While I love most of what I’ve read by this author, this duet just didn’t do it for me. The number of times I rolled my eyes or thought “grow the heck up!” was just too many. For me. And X’s wedding speech was more painful than funny to me, but that’s not really here nor there.
That being said, the characters themselves always come to life on Emilia’s page. They’re—mostly—relatable. They’re funny. Witty. Completely silly.
I’m happy Meg made the decisions she made. I’m glad Marc finally pulled his head out of his you-know-what.
I’m overall satisfied with the ending, will still recommend this author
Take A Chance On Me is book 2 of Marc and Megan's story...and I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy from the talented Emilia Finn. Marc and Meg have had so many ups and downs since they were teenagers. As much chemistry as they have ~ it's a wonder they actually hooked up. They are sassy, teasing and downright mean to each other at times but they pull they have towards one another is out of this universe! It's no wonder they ended up in their predicament ~ on the first date to boot! From a lost little boy to valuing family and friends....from a neglected spoiled girl to working class....bring these two together and you get fireworks! The Survivor Series is a 5 star recommendation!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Survivor Series was Five Stars for excellence in entertainment
Emilia Finn keeps her readers consistently dialed in and constantly entertained and waiting for the next book. All of her books are five stars. My only gripe is the language. That's it. I have nothing else negative to say because her writing is truly phenomenal and her depth of character development is also excellent. Not every author can pull that off to such a high level among so many characters and to such a degree as well as make you feel such emotion from them. Ms. Finn also has the freshest plot ideas. I read up to ten maybe more kindle books a week because I have limited mobility. She is currently my favorite author. Five stars. Looking forward to beginning her next series! No doubt!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Plot: 📖📖📖 Side Characters: 👯♂️👯♂️👯♂️👯♂️ Pacing: 🏎️🏎️🏎️ Ending: 🎬🎬🎬🎬 MC’s: 👩🏽🤝👨🏼👫👫👫 Main Characters: Marc and Megan This second installment felt unnecessary. This should have just been Luc and Kari’s book. The focus felt all over the place. I don’t love the ‘big brother thinks his best friend isn’t good enough for his sister’ trope though so that may be part of why this one fell a bit flat for me. Overall, I’m interested enough in all of the characters at this point that all of the books are engaging.
TROPES AHEAD- POTENTIAL SPOILER
Tropes: ✍️Pregnancy ✍️ Second Chance ✍️ Found Family
Scream laugh cry and shout. I'm on my 4th read thru Emilia Finn' s novels. From the Rollin On Series to the end of Checkmate. Well, "Holy Shitake mushrooms.". The Mark and Meg duet will tear you up. Heavy subject matter. It's taken the 4 th read to grasp the depth of their story and where they come from. I disliked Meg and Mark the first read thru...selfish prats. For whatever reason they have finally joined my favorite couple list. Hey I fell in love with these ALL families all over again. Now for a re-read of Checkmate and into Next Gen.
This spinoff series was amazing as the rolling on series. All the couples have their own unique journey. The Sams' story was heartbreaking at their separation for more than a decade especially since it was based on a lie.
Meg and Marc's story was sweet and i was happy they ended up together. Was pissed Meg was screwed over but that she found joy in working back what she list and they were able to build a family together.
I loved this series from the beginning of the first book in series one.
I really liked this series at first but it is just slowly getting worse, this one being by far the worst of the bunch. The theme of this book should be toxic masculinity, because the level of it in this story is absolutely nauseating. And, this is what - the 3rd or 4th book by this author with abortion as a major theme? I read books like this to get AWAY from that stuff - if I wanted to read all about the topic I’d read the newspaper. It definitely feels like the author is trying to make a political statement, and this book is the one where she finally lost me.
Such a fun ending for a series that really just kept me emotional. Ben and X had me legit laughing out loud like a fool. Luc made me fall so in love that I kind of hate Kari. But then again I think I might be a friend hopper because Marcus is so sweet.
Another book another series that is amazing from Emilia. I’ve reread all of her work so I know what comes next and I’ll tell you it it my all time favorite. Kane if you’re real I’d go back 17 years and wait for you!
As always...stellar writing by the awesome Emilia!!! She makes me laugh out loud & cry crocodile tears. I love how her characters go thru some serious stuff, & she makes me feel like I’m experiencing it myself. I love the way these boys all love each other on a whole other level & aren’t afraid to say it. There’s just not enough I can say about these books, both series!!!!! Now...gimme the next one!!!! 😂🤣
I’ve liked the other books in this series and the Rollin series but this book just fell flat. There was hardly a plot. I figured this book would get into the drama of Meg’a divorce but that fell to the side to focus on Marc’s completely unrealistic reaction to Kari and Luca’s relationship. Even that was a poorly developed plot line. It felt like it was all fluff. this book was completely unnecessary and could have been combined with the first book on Meg and Marc
The conclusion to Marc & Meg was ok. I don’t know I guess I was expecting more! Just a wow factor. I can’t go into to details without giving the story away but I felt like more should’ve happened to Drew & things with Marc & Luc were annoying as heck ugh 😑 and Meg in the beginning was just gut wrenching but it ended HEA so 🤷🏽♀️
The bombshell of Marc and Meg’s first book sets the stage for an epic book two. I can’t even describe the emotional roller coaster of this book—so many feels and yet, I loved it all. Soooo much! Can’t wait for more from this amazing group of friends/family!!
So Marc has some spunk... Boat loads! And meg! Not the cow, the other one. What a journey! I literally closed the book about a million times and pointed my finger at it and said "nope! No way. She wouldnt"... Gave myself a pep talk and went back it. I am relieved this book is finished, theeeennnnnn I cry and flip it back to chapter one
I truly enjoys this entire series starting with The Rollers all the way through #7 where she’s currently published through. Meg and Marc are great together. However several very incorrect medical things happen and being a nurse this kills me, especially since every single thing could easily have been found on Google. Other than that it’s a really great book and series.
I have love all three series with these amazing characters. Each book sees you in further. I started with the check mate series by accident then started from the beginning. I wish this was a real town and I could actually friend all these hilarious, strong loving people. I hope there is a next gen series. I already miss everyone!!!
The second half of Marc and Meg’s story did not disappoint. I felt like my emotions where all over the place with this one, but the best part was definitely the reception. I can’t wait till it’s Benny’s turn. That kid cracks me up so hard.
Don’t hesitate to download any of Finn’s books, but definitely start with the Rollers Series.
I just want to say... never has the main guy gotten on my nerves as much as Marc. He acts sssooooo and I mean SSSSOOOOOOOO immature. I came close to not finishing the book so many tomes but I had already started the book and refuse to leave a book no finished. But GOD did he act childish. Best believe I found myself yelling "grow the f*** up already Marc," several times.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The second book in Marc and Megs book did not disappoint I couldn’t put it down an emotional rollercoaster with me crying along with them. I’m emotional invested in all these characters now and need to read more so I can find out each of their stories. This is a highly recommended must read series that you won’t regret reading and will have you wanting more roll on series three.
