Intrepid. Naomi DeMarco isn’t one to shy away from danger, especially not when her friends’ lives are at stake. But when a mysterious USB drive starts her on a path to find a killer, not even she could imagine the dangers that lay ahead.
Fascinated. There’s no other way to describe how Jay Evens feels when he meets Naomi. He may not be the man she thinks he is, but that isn’t going to stop him from fighting to be by her side as she takes on a killer—not even when the killer proves to be so much more.
Determined. When the killer starts infiltrating the darkest corners of the government’s networks, Naomi and Jay know that more than just a few lives are at stake—because money talks and information is currency, especially when the right information falls into the wrong hands.

Tamsen Schultz is the author of several romantic suspense novels and American Kin (a short story published in Line Zero Magazine). In addition to being a writer, she has a background in the field of international conflict resolution, has co-founded a non-profit, and currently works in corporate America. Like most lawyers, she spends a disproportionate amount of time thinking (and writing) about what it might be like to do something else. She lives in Northern California in a house full of males including her husband, two sons, three cats, a dog, and a gender-neutral, but well-stocked, wine rack.
This is a fast paced, well-written, entertaining romantic suspense novel. It is action packed with a strong, capable female protagonist and a wonderful romantic twist. It is an excellent addition to Ms. Schultz's outstanding Windsor series.
This is a fast-paced, well written romantic suspense novel. It is action packed with a strong, capable female protagonist, likable characters, and a wonderful romantic twist. I am looking forward to reading Ms. Schultz's other novels to discover the back stories of the interesting Windsor characters that are referred to in this novel.
This action packed romantic suspense is another book in the Windsor Series I couldn’t put down! Not only the suspense, the growing love affair between a baseball pitcher and a computer genius working with her twin to help government agency’s, the IT is over the top. I was amazed at what I’m sure the alphabet agencies think is normal technology, but to most of us is impossible to understand. Loving this series.
I'm always a little wary of starting a series midway through and this is book seven on the Windsor Series. Fortunately, with this book, it really didn't matter. There are characters that I assume have appeared in previous books, but as someone coming to this fresh, I wasn't lost or confused as to who was who or what was going on. I'm not sure if there is a running story through these books, the epilogue suggested that perhaps there were events that might be dealt with in a later book, but I don't know. In any case, most of the characters are involved in some way in FBI investigations and it seems to be this that holds the series together as a whole. In many ways, this is a bit of an unusual story. On the one hand, it is a thriller/investigation type of book. As I previously mentioned, most of the characters are involved in the FBI in some ways. Our lead female is a computer genius who consults for them. There is, however, also a strong romantic part to the storyline. With our female lead, Naomi, meeting the male lead, Jay at a bar towards the beginning of the book. As the storyline plays out, their relationship develops too. That's not to say that it's full of sex scenes or the like that romance books tend to have, but it is a key element to the storyline. Overall, the investigation does take the lead role, so I would suggest that this is a thriller with a romantic element, rather than romantic suspense. I don't want to give anything away about what happens, particularly with the mystery element to the storyline. I will say that I liked both of their lead characters and their relationship. I also enjoyed the investigation and thriller side of the story. It was quite a fast-paced read, which is always something that I enjoy. This was a good read. I'd be quite keen to go back and read more in this series. I don't think that it will matter too much what order I read them in, but I am planning on reading a few more of the Windsor Series once I get chance. If you are looking for an exciting read that will keep you on the edge of your seat, with a little bit of romance thrown in, then I honestly don't think that you will go far wrong here.
Through the Night is not the first book I've read by Tamsen Schultz, nor will it be the last. This new book packs just as much of a punch and takes the reader on an edge of your seat thrill ride.
I loved all the characters. They were so well rounded and easy to care for. The banter between some of them was just like good friends and/or family would engage in and felt very realistic. I was bowled over by the wonderful blend of romance and suspense/mystery. The two genres were perfectly blended with neither one taking over or dominating the other.
I don't know where the author gets these ideas, nor how she manages to put the story together so well, but I hope she never stops! More please! If you love mysteries, thrillers and romance, Ms. Schultz's books are calling your name. Pick one up and give it a whirl.
Thank you to the author and publisher for an ARC at my request. All thoughts in this review, as always, are my own.
If I’d have to pick a favorite, I think this one is it! The entire book was made of suspense - needing to know what happens next - and smiling/ laughing about the way the (mainly) three people were talking to each other. I loved all characters!! This was definitely a page turner!! I couldn’t put it out of my hands.. finished it faster than any other book! That’s just how good it is!
Chances are, most avid readers have authors they trust to always create great reads, Tamsen Schultz is one of those authors. Through the Night, from the Windsor series, begins with a mysterious aura as Naomi enters a pub with a broken heel looking to meet a friend, meets and leaves with a stranger, finds her friend murdered. Cryptic turns to intriguing as Naomi and Jay grab and don’t let go till the end. Compelling characters, well written and played out exciting FBI action and unexpected romance make this another fantastic goodread. A must read, thoroughly entertaining and a great escape.
Wonderful characters...net and mentioned in a prior book in this series....it's part 1 of 2....great characters from 2 opposite ends of the spectrum meet and call in lust, then love...all while unravelling a mystery involving bodies of murdered friends, a kidnapped friend and a possible rogue fbi agent. Funny, violent, sweet, romantic, terrifying....
Another great story in this series. Jay a Professional baseball player accidentally meets Naomi a young woman in her cousin's pub. She is looking for some information to investigate. He walks her to her car where they find the body of a man she was supposed to meet for the information, he has been shot, And there the mystery begins.
This story is still full of interesting characters but requires a little more concentration on the mystery. Moves very quickly and you still love all the characters.
Loved every page. Wow what a ride. Baseball and spying. Who would have known. Wanna know Brian’s secret now. Also want more on Damian and Charlotte. Guess I gotta keep reading. As always keep writing and I will keep reading. Thank you.
I have so enjoyed all six books in this series and look forward to what, sadly appears to be the last book. The writing is intelligent and the characters engaging. I am amazed at the author's insight and knowledge. Don't miss this series!
I love the characters, the suspense, and the romance in this book. Every bit of it is so well written from the start to the happy ending. Very entertaining!!!
Received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Tamsen Schultz is one of my favorite authors. Her Windsor series is just amazing! Again, once I started I couldn't put it away. I just NEED to know what is going to happen.
In this book the main character is Naomi, one of Vivi's cousins (you know Vivi from previous books I bet!) She's been travelling a while and upon her return home she has received a cryptic message from one of her FBI friends. From there bad things start happening around her. Who is behind it all? What is happening? Will Naomi and her brother Brian, with help from Damian, be able to solve this case? Can they save their friend?
As always, Tamsen won't let you know how did it until the very end. And that's what I love about her books. She keeps you captivated from the first letter on page one and you take twists and turns (that aren't annoying or anything, but are really good to the story) and you keep thinking well this person is the culprit! And it turns out it's not. You don't trust anybody until the very end when you know what's what. Not everybody can write like that.
If you like thrillers with suspense, a little bit of romance, friendships, murder mysteries, Tamsen is your author!
If this review is the first you see about the Windsor series and Tamsen Schultz, I can tell you you can start with this book as all the books tell a story on their own. But if you want to understand all the dynamics and relationships of the people you'll come across in the books, I'd advice you to start with the first part in the series. That way you really can delve into it and have a splurge week(end) of reading all her books. I know you'll want to! Enjoy it! And to you Tamsen, thank you for letting me read this book as an ARC. I'm happy I've gotten the chance to read this awesome tale!
This is a really good book. I mean really good. But why would I give it 4 stars? Because I hated the main protagonist. Hated her. Did not like the boyfriend either. The author painted them, in fact, the whole family as so perfect, they were unlikeable to me. And really, the only thing I found good was that she did not sleep with the guy the first night she met him. At LEAST that was good. But then she told her family and friends she wanted to and they told him that she wanted to and I just give up. Really, women's lib has created a double pressure for people to sleep with partners they barely know. Society pressures women, men pressure women and women pressure women so we can be as low-life as men.
But the book was a great story. The author led the way through this "perfect" life of this woman with a wonderful story and a great conclusion. But I hope the author will consider that perfection is not only impossible but really not that desirable. Most reviews discuss the characters flaws that we can identify with. So that's how I feel. Sorry if that offends anyone. No, I am really not. MY honest review.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I read Into the Dawn first but I love how the two books are essentially telling the same story. Through the Night filled in so much information from the other side of the investigation. I loved learning the story of Naomi and Jay.
I absolutely loved this book. It is one that I have been anticipating and it did not disappoint!!! I love Naomi's character and enjoyed reading her story.
Naomi is a twin and a cyber-security expert that all the federal agencies utilize. One night she encounters Jay at her cousins bar and the two hit it off. Is Jay who Naomi thinks he is? Can he cope with the secrecy needed for Naomi's job? Add in mystery, intrigue, murder, and romance - what more could you ask for in a book?
This is a fantastic addition to the Windsor Series (One of my all time favorite series!) and I highly recommend this book. I would suggest starting at the beginning of the series as there are recurring characters, but it can be read as a stand alone book.
Naomi and Jay are falling for each other. One has a mystery to solve and a friend to save. The other is holding something back. She's determined to figure things out and along the way their relationship has a progression that feels natural and realistic. The case is full of some interesting turns. There is suspense, action, humor, and romance. There are appearances from characters from previous books in the Windsor series, which I loved! I can't wait to read Brian and Lucy's story.
Wow! A great first read by this author! A great suspense book that kept me on the edge of my seat! This page turner didn’t disappoint for me even though there were several before it , I found it easy to read and am excited to now get to read the rest of this series and more books from this author!
This has to be my second most favorite book I have read this year, currently have read 180 books. I never thought baseball, murder, FBI, & computers could go together so well. This book has, by your seat guessing what was next, with romance & sibling rivalry tossed in for fun. A very good read.
An amazing suspense and romance combined. Well written engaging characters. A full on complete storyline. No cliff hangers and a HEA. The next books should be amazing.
