Listened to this via Creepcast. Story was sufficiently weird (good) but still done in an overwhelmingly predictable way (bad). The 13 year olds who write these stories really need to stop making the same writing mistakes and start making new ones.
i listened to this through CreepCast with Papa Meat & Wendigoon.
there is a lot to unpack here. it was…. okay. the beginning was good, the set up was good. but the execution… not good. it’s below average for a horror short story.
also, 50 as elderly??? how old was the writer?😂
i think the premise was good. the author has a great idea for a plots i just believe if certain aspects of the story was altered, it would be so much better
I liked the idea, the writing style was good, but overall I think me having read so many wood horror stories kind of made me a little exhausted after reading this. It was good, but not really for me. Would def recommend though.
This is a very good book. I usually do not care for horror, but since this was a free audio book thought I’d give it a listen and am glad I did. Plenty of twists make this book an excellent read or listen. I was rapt at attention to the end. Take a listen here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...
There’s a good skeleton to this story, but it needed several additional drafts in order for it to truly shine. It sounds like the author was in high school when he wrote this so I’m sure he’s improved his craft since then.
A great setup and a great concept, but the ending left me unsatisfied. I’d love to read a reimagining of this story, it is so dreamy and suspenseful, very gothic themes, and yet there’s something sci-fi about it all too.
