All is right in HarleyLand again with LG at the helm. Alexius, a new besotted fathead has galloped into the kingdom on behalf of the heroine Rosie’s natual grandfather. In searching her out to see if she is “worthy” of the crown Greek lifestyle and acknowledgement, the granddad asks Fathead to get to know her. When Gramps said “get to know her” I doubt he meant have a ONS wherein you sneak out while she’s asleep and she’s already multiplying little Greek tycoon baby zygotes. Never fear, Rosie’s trusty companion the man-hating Baskerville defends her by literally being an ankle biter.
Also, our tiny little heroine has a couple of secret weapons in the back pocket of her faded, secondhand jeans: a personality and a brain.
Fathead isn’t exactly Sir Sensitive or Mr. Wonderful. He lies; he calls the baby the blob, he’s a snob, he’s devious, and he can’t look at the heroine without wallowing in the lust-filled haze of a teenage boy. He’s an oinker, but he is a charming one.

My initial rating was two stars, because this one just an okay reading experience. But since I'm still in a bookhangover from my three 5 star reads in a row, I just don't trust my objectivity. So three it is because there is nothing extreme about this one - to either like or dislike.
Hero is a beta in alpha clothing. He goes out of his way to fulfill his godfather's hare-brained scheme of vetting the godfather's long-lost granddaughter. He actually hangs around an office building well past working hours to meet the night cleaning staff and observe the heroine.
It's instant attraction. A one night stand. A pregnancy.
There's a bit of drama with the heroine having a stalker who kicks and injures her dog, Baskerville.
The hero with the cold heart is drawn into these problems and is puzzled that the heroine won't marry him because he can't say I love you.
This is typical LG fare - right down to the tiny blonde heroine and her pain-in-the-ankle dog.

This book was a return to the LG I so loved. The heroine was just such a hoot and so good with verbal barbs, she said things in all honesty without knowing that her words were denting the hero's ego. The hero who was used to wealth and women and getting what he wants. Even though the heroine grew up poor and became pregnant, she didn't accept the hero's proposal. The hero sought her out because of his godfather who told him to check her out(she was his granddaughter). I loved how the hero kidnaps her and her dog in the end and I could see the hero falling for her in the book unlike other times where we get the token three words at the end.

The romance, what little there was of it, fell flat and the protagonists were pale imitations of Lynne Graham's best heroes and heroines. If Alexius and Rosie weren't arguing, then they were having sex or thinking about it. Alexius's character seemed underdeveloped and concerned with only one thing: S-E-X.
Rosie was even more frustrating than Alexius, believe it or not. She, too, thought with her libido more than her mind, but said mind wouldn't have helped since that brain was the size of an atom anyway. Rosie changed her mind constantly, and also yelled at Alexius like a spoiled child when she didn't get her way. Nor did she take any responsibility for her actions, but instead threw a fit when there were consequences. I couldn't warm up to a heroine who was just too immature and shrewish.
The constant fighting, shallow romance, and unlikable protagonists ruined the story for me.

"A Ring to Secure His Heir" of Rosie and Alexius.
What a wonderful read!
Our H is asked by his godfather to find out more about his illegitimate granddaughter, who was abandoned by both her parents and now works as a cleaner. The hero is initially haughty and reluctant, but soon agrees.
He meets the heroine who is a tiny and honest worker. He is instantly attracted to her, and soon they end up having a ONS, which leaves the heroine pregnant. The h is honest, and decides to tell the H about it, who insists on getting married, but she disagrees.
Soon they end up flying to Greece to meet her grandfather, and that's where the story takes off.
We have a super strong heroine, a kinda snobbish and confused alpha hero, a cute and rabid chihuahua named Bas, a scheming grandfather and a shrewd aunt in this one. The lovemaking scenes and the chemistry was SUPER hot, and I enjoyed how the hero did not know how to express his feelings through words- but certainly did through actions (I mean he calls the baby a blob LMAO).
Ends in an adorable HEA, both for the couple and the dog!

Me encanta el prota de esta novela. Es tan, ¡tan! Lynne Graham-style que me tuvo sonriendo la mitad de la novela y la otra parte suspirando. Él no sabe cómo lidiar con los sentimientos y me pareció tan hombre que a mi mente femenina le costó procesarlo... pero él es llanamente un tipo insensible que va redimiéndose' pero no al punto de traicionar su esencia, y esta clase de historias me puede~ No quiero que se vuelvan todo hearts and flowers porque no es creíble. LG demuestra por qué es una de las escritoras favoritas de romance ^_^.

Rosie grew up in foster care, but the last lady she stayed with was a decent person and she inherited her crazy mini dog, Baskerville. She cleans offices while studying and hoping to get into university, and having no idea she's the granddaughter of a millionaire.
Alex is even richer than her grandfather who is also his godfather. He has agreed to go check out his granddaughter and convince her to go visit her grandfather. But he does this in a rather underhanded way... and can't seem to resist having his way with her too.
Not that she's a push over! She's very independent and not looking for a sugar daddy.
This was a rather simplistic story and there's not much tension, but I still enjoyed the sparks that flew whenever the MCs got together.
Rosie tells Alex where he can stick his money and Baskerville bites his ankles.
Alex is adamant that he will never marry and has no idea how to love and if that emotion even exists.
So not really a 4 star as it was a little too easy, but I loved the MCs.

3 stars, which means it was okay. Some parts got a chuckle. Of course, it's sexy sexy sexy, but more tasteful than some of Graham's latest offerings. No cheating.
A Ring to Secure His Heir struck me as an unusually specific title -- one that actually aligns with the content. Alex's beloved godfather asks him to investigate his granddaughter, who had grown up in a foster home and knew nothing of his existence. Alex falls in lust and makes a baby with said granddaughter, who was a virgin at age 23, and won't marry without love -- which he ain't offering, but he still tries to use "a ring to secure his heir" (actually, to secure his Rosie).
The developing relationship was okay, but it seemed that every scene -- sometimes every other page -- included either Alex or Rosie thinking about sex -- her luscious pink lips, his flat washboard abs, etc. Hmmm. That's become typical for this author, and still I return to her, remembering the good old days of The Spanish Groom, with Daisy and Caesar.
But getting back to the current story, Rosie was spunkier than most and gave Alex a run for his money. Alex was so spoiled it was good to see him learn to deal. He grew on me, as I read about his loveless childhood (yup, hooked again by that old trope). Then he crashed and burned. Idiot. Sweet ending, though.
Heck yeah, there's a pet. This is Graham. Little yap dog this time. (Jason the Jerk got off too easy.)
For me, a problem with reading Lynne Graham is that I know her cast of characters pretty well. So when I started reading about our girl Rosie in this book, I did a double take, cuz Rosie just happens to be the heroine in The Secret Wife, which looks like this:

And when I started in on the office cleaning scenes in this book (Rosie moonlights as a cleaner) I recalled similar scenes with Ella, who fainted when vacuuming in Expectant Bride. Remember? This cover:

Graham is prolific. It's the price she pays. But recycling the same name even??? I think I must bid adieu to this once-favorite author. Or maybe not. Still better than what's on TV this late at night.

I have loved most of Lynn Graham's books but I must be honest and say that this is one of those that I kind of just liked. Something was missing in this story.
Okay, the story of a poor heroine working as an office cleaner who meets a millionaire (of course she thinks he's just a worker there.... is seduced and left pregnant (geez don't these guys think about protection!!!!) is a very old and used plot - in fact I seemed to remember a very similar story read before....
Anyway, I did find it a bit of a chore turning the pages.....there seemed to be very little spark between Rosie Gray (who just by the way is more than just a cleaner....not going to give any more info on that....} and Alexius Stravoulakis, who i found hard to connect with.....his issues were so ott that I wanted to slap him a couple of times........because -
Rosie was quite a lovable kind of girl....complete with the cute little Chihuahua named Bas.....the scenes with her dog were just a hoot......listen this little fella travels on private jets and lives in island mansions.....i kept waiting for Rosie to suddenly have him dressed up in designer doggie clothes......wewwww...thank heavens that never happenned..........
One of the things made this book more enjoyable for me was when Rosie is telling off the more than heavy alpha-male who just does not get the plot....
"What the hell do you want from me?" Alexius shot back at her with sizzling incomprehension.
"Feelings, you blockhead!"Rosie thundered back at him with incredulity that he had still not got that message. "It's not enough that you'd be a great provider and fantastic in bed!"
Rosie, you are my kind of girl....no one to be stepped on!!!
So, the two do sort out all their issues and go off into the sunset to have their fabulous HEA.
Oh, lastly.....i did not like their daughter's name...Kasma..What!!!! No please!!!!!
If you want a sweet love story with a few laughs, then go on read this book.

A Ring to Secure His Heir by Lynne Graham, released in 2012, is a story that many readers would find affinity with, especially those who have problems with older Harlequin romances that feature heroines who are a bit more submissive. The story begins when 31 year old Alexius Kolovos Stavroulakis (Alexius) is tasked to find out more about 75 year old Socrates Seferis’s grand daughter, Socrate being the only person whose orders that Alexius is willing to follow, even if this one fills him with misgivings.
23 year old Rosie Gray is a woman who is used to life’s hardships. Having grown up with a flighty mother who would not win any awards for being a good mother, with an absentee father in the mix, Rosie had grown in foster care upon the death of her mother. Rendered nearly homeless just a couple of months back, Rosie is biding her time with a company whose sole business is office cleaning, the job suiting her quite well, until she is able to get her degree in Business Management.
Even though Alexius is at first reluctant to go ahead with what Socrates wants, he is not one to deny what the old man wants, who had been more of a parent to him than anyone else. Believing Rosie to be someone colorless and shapeless, with zero attributes to attract him at any level, Alexius is taken aback when he actually meets her to find out that instead, Rosie has a way of drawing him to her.
Rosie does not know what hits her when she encounters the altogether too good looking for himself Alexius, who makes her senses all go on red alert. Having no prior experience with men when it comes to sex, needless to say, before Alexius is done with his “mission”, they end up doing the missionary themselves.
Alexius, having gone against his own code of ethics and morals when he does the one-night stand with Rosie, berates himself afterwards for giving in and taking advantage of the granddaughter of the one man who is most valuable to him. But then again, somethings are inevitable and thus begins the at times fraught journey that Alexius and Rosie must traverse through for their own happily ever after.
I loved this novel; both Alexius and Rosie are superb characters, not to mention Socrates who was adorable in his way. It was refreshing to see a hero who did not come out with guns blazing, offering marriage just because he ended up taking the heroine’s virginity. I also admired the fact that Rosie stood her ground, even when it came to her grandfather who wanted to see them married to deal with the consequences of their one night of passion, all because she did not want to settle for half measures.
Rosie with the ambition of making something out of herself is one aspect of her character that I fully supported and admired. Alexius meanwhile, has a hard time reconciling with the feelings that Rosie rouses in him; the lust, possessiveness, protectiveness, and a hint of what he does not want to name, and that for me was one of the most enjoyable aspects of the story! It is always hilarious to see the hero struggle so much with what he feels, and when they reluctantly give in, there is so much love that bursts from within the pages, the reason why I love romance novels so much.
While I admired Rosie for all the characteristics, I also loved Alexius because he did not do a 180 degree turn on his convictions, just because he had met a woman who changed him fundamentally. He took his time to come to terms with his burgeoning feelings, and that is what made this book stand out for me.
Loved the epilogue tucked at the end. It is rare for a Harlequin romance to have one, and I enjoyed this one to the hilt!
Recommended for fans of Harlequin romances, fans of Lynne Graham, and fans of romances that totally captivates you on every level.
Final Verdict: Chock-full of taut sexual tension and goodness at every page turn!

Loved the epilogue tucked at the end. It is rare for a Harlequin romance to have one, and I enjoyed this one to the hilt!
Recommended for fans of Harlequin romances, fans of Lynne Graham, and fans of romances that totally captivates you on every level.

Loved this one. Rosie is a great heroine, very strong-willed, filled with integrity. Really liked her. And the resolution wasn't rushed. Woo hoo!

A nice read.
I liked the character of Rosie, she was sweet, caring, innocent, and spoke her mind. Maybe sometimes she changed her mind more than once but she was adjusting to new life experiences and emotions.....getting to know the rest of the world. She does a great job in the end with her honesty and telling "it like it is" attitude.
Alex on the otherhand enters into his "relationship" with Rosie with lies and secrets. Yes, he maybe rich and sexy but those things don't impress her much. He is clueless as to how the other poor half lives and makes so many oopsies. He does learn to adjust his attitude and starts taking her feelings into account.
The passion between them is HOT! But sometimes it feels like they are missing that vital connection......TRUE LOVE! Overall it was a fun entertaining and well written read.

This was so not for me because of the heroine.
Rosie changed her mind like I change the song when my iTunes is in aleatory reproduction, which is a lot.
It's a shame because Alesxius was the kind of I-don't-know-what-feelings-are hero I love. Yes, I'm a sucker for those guys who claim to have no heart but are so nice and giving yet they preserve their ruthlessness for when necessary. Also I loved that he wasn't omnipotent, it was so cute when he couldn't drive perfectly.
The plot was nice and I completely loved that it was all orchestrated by grandps (just for that I gave an extra half star)

Oh, goody! I loved the story from beginning to end. The plot is straightforward, and you might say, predictable. Still, it was well written, with angsty goodness, witty dialogue, great characters, perfect writing from Ms. Lynne Graham - it was at times funny, sad, frustrating, but there was never a dull moment! This was one of the books that kept me smiling the whole time. I can’t help smiling now as I’m writing this review. Just thinking back over the story makes me want to read it all over again.
I adored Rosie from the start. She was a great heroine. She was strong, knew what she wanted out of her life and in a relationship, and she won’t settle for anything less. She was feisty, funny, vulnerable, smart and relatable, but was no pushover either. She didn’t allow him to walk all over here even though it was so obvious that she had fallen in love with him. So does she cave in? she caves in? Absolutely not! I love that she held her ground when she refused his proposal the first time. And I very much enjoyed how she also could put him in his place when need be. Alexius. *sigh. He's arrogant, domineering, mega-rich, gorgeous, sexy, possessive, but you what set him apart from other HP heroes? He isn't mean or hurtful. And he's very honorable. I loved that even though he didn't have any intention of marrying or having a child in the future, he offered her marriage. Unfortunately, she turned him down. And that definitely made me laugh out loud.
The chemistry between these two was freakin' off the charts! But my absolute favorite thing about this book was the hilarious verbal sparring between them. They were just so hilarious together that I was left wishing for more. I was constantly laughing because of her character assassination of Alex.
"Don't tell my grandfather I needed time to think about meeting him, tell him I have exams on. I don't want to hurt his feelings."
"What about mine?"
"I don’t think you’re over-endowed in that department. You’re too aggressive and sure of yourself to be sensitive and too selfish to be caring."
"I just fed you."
"You’re probably investing in the fact that I’m carrying the Stavroulakis heir."
I was constantly laughing because of her character assassination of Alex.
"You're not the kind of guy I want to marry."
It sent me into a laughing frenzy. How often do you see in an HP line where the heroine told the mega-rich, gorgeous, who-think-himself-as-gods-gift-to-women that he wasn't her ideal husband?
Overall, A Ring to Secure His Heir was such a wonderful read! I was genuinely happy for both of them and glad they got their much-deserved happy-go-after. And I love, love, loved the Epilogue! *sigh* I closed this book with a happy heart and a smile on my face.

I loved this book! There were many times I wanted to slap Rosie for being so stubborn and pushing Alex away non-stop when he was trying so hard to make their relationship work. I mean come on it was obvious the guy was crazy in love with her. In fact I think he was way too clingy and insecure for a Harlequin hero.
The hero was so amazing I am having a crush on him. I loved how the relationship progressed and how reluctant he was to become a husband and a father but in reality he was desperate for Rosie and his child to stay by his side forever. He was a perfect hero. He was gorgeous, sexy, protective, loving, caring, possessive. He was there for her when Rosie’s past caught up with her and when she needed him most and I fell in love with Alex.
Aside from that, what made the romance work is the banter and hot passion between them. This couple definitely stole my heart!

Our feisty heroine confuses the hell out of him. She gives as much as she gets. Not impressed by his wealth, she refuses his half-hearted marriage proposal when she got pregnant. And she fights him all the way. His loveless childhood prevents Alexius from realizing that what he feels for Rosie is love. He has to act fast or he ll risk losing her.

I liked this one on the whole. The heroine was not a total doormat and she did refuse to marry him until he fell in love with her. He was so rich and always been so that he was 100% arrogant but he never treated her poorly. In fact he listened when she refused to marry him but he still stuck with her. The end was fun when he comes to get her at her grandfather's party. The end was pretty grovelly in a very sweet way.

Well. I just don't know what to say. To me, this book is a perfect example of cheesy Harlequin romances with an over bearing jerky hero who acts jerky, right up till the end and doesn't grovel enough for forgiveness. I did enjoy it though :)

Alexius seeks to do a favor for his godfather – find out if the long lost not acknowledged granddaughter is a “good” person or a gold digger in disguise. If she turns out to be above board grandfather will acknowledge her. If she is a worm looking for a way in and easy hand-outs – forget it! He has enough hands clamoring for his money!!
So Alexius goes off to investigate the little – literally she is petite - office cleaner. Alexius finds himself attracted to little Rosie – you knew he would be, but he practices his deception, appears to get what he wants, and then walks away! Note there is an odd I’m-ill-don’t-know-why moment that sits up….I think you know what later. Obviously VERY potent stuff too! Also a bit of drama tossed in to spice things up and it wouldn’t be complete w/out an - I will only save ‘him’ if you do what I want blackmail!
Rosie did fight him on things when she discovers his deceit. She seemed quite capable of taking care of herself even w/ Alexius, and I liked that she stood up for herself somewhat. There were even a few LOL moments to be had in this tale. One of which was his question of so I’m good enough to sleep w/ but not good enough to marry – isn’t that how these Hs treat their hs?? The poor misguided fool, Alexius, even issues her an ultimatum but she doesn’t collapse for him. I even wondered if Rosie was a bit like her dog – all growling and snapping, but he got the dog and her in the end. LOL!!

Nice and low angst. The heroine is the granddaughter of a billionaire, who asks the hero to check on her. He wants to know if the girl is a gold digger. The hero takes this a little too seriously, because he dates her and after a few times he beds her. She is an innocent working girl, very honest and not at all attracted by money. And the hero is so good in his investigation that she gets pregnant... So when eventually he has to confess his deception, the heroine fels betrayed and doesn't want to have anything to do with him. He wants to marry her, not only because she's pregnant but also because he's smitten. There's a little drama and a brief separation, then all is well. Very cute book and characters.

Alex was supposed to check out his godfather’s granddaughter. He wasn’t prepared for their meeting to land in bed and a few weeks later her passing out in his office pregnant.
While he never planned on a wife and baby, he never thought that Rosie would put up such a fight at his marriage suggestion.
Taking Rosie to Greece to meet her grandfather seems to be their last chance and only after an ugly ultimatum does Alex finally realize how important Rosie has become to him.
A year later finds the couple happily married and happily expanding.

Synopsis:
Socrates Seferis (nope, he isn't the hero you swoon upon), a multimillionaire businessman, asks his godson, Alexius Satvroulakis, a billionaire businessman (of course, in M&B, only the heroine is poor – but certainly not of poor origins!), who resides in London, to look into his illegitimate granddaughter Rosie Grey, a mere cleaner girl, and be the judge of her character (as if!). Socrates wants to make her his heir, as the rest of his children are good for nothing. And thus starts the deception, as Alexius poses as a mere employee – Alex (how original!) – in his own company after hiring the cleaning agency Rosie works for, and starts staying late in the office to meet, get acquainted, and then test her loyalty, integrity, etc., by setting up tasks which are hitherto unknown to Rosie's knowledge. But, following an assault perpetrated by the deranged ex of her previous flatmate, Alex galloped in as the knight in shining armour, and not able to control his – or her – lust, gave her a baby!
Review:
This is a pretty average book for an M&B, but it deviated a lot from Lynne Graham's usual style of writing, and solely because of that I loved it more. A first where the book title and blurb do justice to the story.
I adored the chihuahua, Baskerville (what a name!), and true to its name's origin, he bit Alex like the true hound he is! The love-hate relationship, between Alex, and Bas was wonderful to read.
The way Rosie attacked Alex's ego at every turn, tickled me pink, and the way Alex's offer for marriage fell flat on his face, was hilarious. Also, the dialogue between Rosie's brain and heart keeps the reader entertained.
From a blob to a baby, Alexius' character grows by leaps and bounds. And Rosie's aunt, Sofia, I just loved to hate her.
The epilogue was love! Especially a companion for Bas, and Rosie's granddad's deception came almost as a surprise to me at the end.
