these two were cute…. maybe a little too cute 🤨. i got kinda bored here and there, but honestly i think i’m the problem. i don’t really like to read about couples who have little to no problems. i still enjoyed the story, but i do wish the fluffiness was toned down a bit. it felt like the main characters held hands and skipped into the sunset after each scene.
*Original Review* This was so incredibly sweet and wholesome right from the start.
Bessho and Makita meet in a university lecture when Bessho realizes he forgot his pencil case and Makita offers him one of his pens. The two become friends and find they both have a love for cute things. However Bessho keeps his love a secret in fear of what others will say, while Makita is unapologetic about his tastes.
This is a friendship that turns into love and both boys grow and change with each other because of each other. Bessho finds himself not wanting to hide things, while Makita finds himself wanting to try new things and come out of his shell. So freaking cute. And I liked the side couple as well. There's very minimal conflict. No angst, just a fluffy feel good read :')
*Reread 10/3/2024* Very sweet, very wholesome as I said previously. It can get a little boring since not too much really happens, but still an enjoyable read. I liked the side couple a lot. I wanted a little more of their relationship, but I'm also okay with it being a one shot. It was a nice read.
„Link and Ring“ to manga, która nieustannie mnie rozczula.
Summary: “If I ever get brave enough to say I like you from the top of my lungs--" Bessho coincidentally meets Makita in a university lecture they share, finding out that they both like cute things. While Bessho hides his preferences like a dirty little secret, Makita makes no excuses for who he is and what he likes. Despite the twists and turns they encounter along the way, the pair of lovers deal with their possessive and jealous urges on their slow journey to answering the age-old question: what is the best way to fall in love?
Y0u mean to tell me there is no third party drama, no other people, healthy communication and conflict solving, fluff with a side of spice, and lovable secondary character?! This manga is practically a unicorn. But seriously, it one of the most wholesome reads I have ever gotten my hands on.
This was soft and lovely. Really nice pacing for the length, without any serious drama but with a lot of good relationship negotiation and communication throughout.
The premise is simple: Bessho and Makita meet in a university class, Makita loans Bessho a pen, and they form a friendship that gradually turns into something much closer. Bessho struggles with being open about what he truly likes - something that extends past sexuality - so there's a slow progression of Makita being patient with him as he works on that at his own pace.
In return, Bessho is immensely patient and supportive with Makita as he works up to the more physical side of their relationship - something he wants but isn't comfortable with jumping into.
It's just a lot of lovely consideration for each other's differences, with the steady encouragement of helping your partner to grow without actually forcing them into any particular changes. I also liked the pretty unique in BL scenes about actually physically working their way into being prepared for the things they haven't done before, instead of the fast-paced painful-looking shoving it in that most of the stories ram straight into.
I liked Bessho's friends, too, especially Touji. I was really surprised by their side story - a little annoyed at first to jump to them when it didn't feel like our main couple had been fully resolved yet, but I ended up really enjoying that, too. This was really nice and was my favorite of the Manga Planet / Kinokuniya batch (although I do still have one more in the mail). No wonder this is the one that was sold out in stores and required an extra couple months of waiting because my online order ended up being out of stock as well.
Eh i mean it wasnt bad but i didnt fell in love with this bl I liked the vibe because it reminded me of doukyuusei and all of this series (i like doukyuusei more wits masterpiece and you should read that)
Green flag 💋 Consent ❤️ Communication ✨ Supportive of each other 😌 If I'll have a relationship like this through lending pen I'd be more than happy to... 😫 and the second couple were just chef's kiss!
this was SOOO wholesome. i literally cried the entire time omg. i loved it a lot!!! my only "problem" is that i wish it was longer. also wish we would've seen more about touji and hisanaga!
a very short and sweet bl about two university students who like cute things, including each other (∗˃̶ ᵕ ˂̶∗)
i loved this manga so much i even added it to my amazon japan cart after finishing it digitally. 😭 lol that’s how you know it’s serious. i was mostly just looking for something fuzzy to read (per usual), but what i accidentally stumbled upon was THE MOST WELL-WRITTEN DEPICTION OF PHYSICAL INTIMACY i’ve ever seen in any romance.
again, this manga is really, really short ( ´•︵•` ), but the slow physical progression of the main characters’ relationship was not only heartwarming but also realistic. that kind of mutual trust and respect is so well-needed in romance stories!!! realistically, not everyone is ready to begin a physical relationship with their partner just because they’ve decided to start dating one another. realistically, not everyone has experience with physical intimacy and is ready to freely begin a sexual relationship with their partner. i don’t see that often (in literally any media), so it was touching to see. the consent and communication was just 10/10. (ᵕᴗ ᵕ⁎)
also i’m weak for couple rings, so the bonus chapter with the ring boxes had me clutching my heart. very, very cute. 🥹🥹🥹
all in all— the art is nice, bessho & makita are the cutest, and the side characters are fun, too! 🥰
So cute and wholesome! Relatable for the shy readers just trying to get some healthy fluff. Positive conversations about real life and healthy relationships all around. Really sweet and slow progression for the couple overall, which isn’t my usual speed in the spice category but it was done so well. HEA
ack amazing wonderful lovely pure goodness,, this was so so sweet and so different than most bls, i LOVED how the intimacy anxiety was portrayed and the scene was so lovely and realistic, also THEY GOT RINGSSSSS!!! i loved their little cat characters and how they grew so much in like 5 chapters,, and the side characters!! ahh i just want more of everything. a new favourite <33333
Something precious 🥹 as wonderful and scary as new beginnings / wait, be respectful and conscious of your partners needs, communicate / you got to be brave Bessho :c not for Makita but for yourself / “l hope one day it’ll be common for people who love each other to be together” 🥲🥺 / “once in a while it’s not so bad to challenge yourself” 🫡 / the ring caaaseeees! 🥺

2.5⭐ Esta muy tierno y la pareja no es toxica...el consentimiento por otro lado esta como entre medio si y medio no(ya estoy acostumbrada lamentablemente) pero dejando lo del consentimiento a un lado es un manga mas del montón la verdad
talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it.
WHAT THE HECK THIS WAS SO SWEET!! SO CUTE AND FILLED WITH FLUFFY PERFECTION, THE ART AND STORY WERE WONDERFUL. NOT TO MENTION THE HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP!!!!
