The end of the world is only the beginning...Book Until the End of the World
Cassie Forrest isn't surprised to learn that the day she’s decided to get her life together is also the day the world ends. After all, she’s been on a self-imposed losing streak since her survivalist parents she’s stopped painting, broken off her engagement to Adrian and dated a real jerk. Rectifying her mistakes has to wait, however, because Cassie and her friends have just enough time to escape Brooklyn for her parents’ cabin before Bornavirus LX turns them into zombies, too. This is difficult enough, but Cassie’s tag along ex-boyfriend and her friend’s bratty sister have a knack for making everything, even the apocalypse, more unpleasant. When the two attract a threat as deadly as the undead to their safe haven, Cassie’s forced to see how far she’ll go to protect those she loves. And it’s a lot farther than she’d anticipated. This, coupled with Adrian’s distant voice on Safe Zone radio and, of course, the living dead, threaten to put Cassie right back into the funk she just dragged herself out of.Survival’s great and all, especially when you have leather armor, good friends and home-brewed beer, but there’s something Cassie must do besides tell Adrian she still loves him. And to do that, Cassie has to find faith that she’s stronger than she thinks, she’s still a crack shot, and true love never dies.

Book And After
Cassie could almost believe life at Kingdom Come Farm is perfect, with her loved ones at her side and spring on the way. The spring thaw also means millions of defrosting zombies, however, and if the past year has taught her anything, it’s that life in this new world is highly imperfect. When Safe Zones throughout the country begin to disappear and the zombies at the fences grow in number, Cassie clings to the hope that if she has the people she loves most, it will be all right. But the highly imperfect world makes only one guarantee—zombies never die, never stop and are never satiated.

I'm a wannabe prepper and lover of anything pre-apocalyptic, apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic—-or anything in between. Add in some humor and romance, and I'm in heaven.
Besides an unhealthy obsession with home-canned food and Bug Out Bag equipment, I love books, making artsy stuff and laughing my arse off. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, I now live in Oregon with my family and, in my opinion, not nearly enough supplies for the zombie apocalypse. But I'm working on it.
I read The City trilogy first and it was amazing. This one, not so much. It’s repetitive, illogical and if Cassie falls in and out of love any faster she would need a revolving door.
I don't even know what to say about this boxset. I picked the first book up as a freebee and figured I'd give it a shot because I do enjoy zombie apocolypse stories if they are done well.
Well, this series is done VERY well. It's told in the POV of Cassie for the most part. She and a group of her friends and her ex boyfriend Peter are in New York when the virus gets bad. The media is playing down the severity of things, but when her brother Eric calls her and tells her to get out of the city asap and head to their parent's cabin upstate where he will meet her, she listens. One of her friend's mother is a nurse in a NYC hospital and she calls to say the same thing. Cassie's parents were survivialists and taught her and her brother what to do in these situations. Cassie breaks up with Peter, right before the group leaves but tells him he can come along if he wants to. She has decided she wants to try to find her first love, Adrian, who she broke up with when her parents died.
Each book progresses the group along on their way out of the city and all the challenges they face. At first some of the group aren't taking the situation seriously, but that changes pretty quickly. They meet others along the way, some friendly, some not so friendly. They face danger, losing people, going hungry, being cold, being sick and trying to figure out how to live in this new world.
It's definitely a zombie book, but most of all, it is a people book. Each character is well fleshed out and though we don't get their POV's, it still feels like we do. The author did a wonderful job describing the new world and the character's reactions to it.
I loved every minute of this series and have downloaded all the other books by this author. Her other series follows Eric and Maria (the NYC nurse) and their journey through this new world.
I was lucky enough to read these books after they had all been released, so no waiting in betwern. Although I do think each novel feels complete. This is my second time reading them and they were even better than the first. I am a fan of thrillers, of romance, of anything thought-provoking really. But when I want to truly escape life, my favorite would be something that takes me to another place, with real people. This series will do that for you. Time won't exist. You will laugh and cry and feel hopeful. I mean as hopeful as you can be with the world ending...
One of my favorite series in the whole world. I lost count how many times I have listened or read them all. Follow Cassie, Nellie, Penny,James, Anna and Peter while they try to survive the zombie apocalypse.
This is one end of the world series that I highly recommend to those looking for an adventure of love, loss and everything in between.
Being what I would consider a hard core post apocalyptic dystopian fiction reader, I would say the cover of this one threw me off a bit. It seemed "too happy". So admittedly, this one sat on my kindle for a little bit even though it came highly recommended from other dystopian fans. The cover snob in me won out for a bit, but then again I also see why you should never, ever judge a book by it's cover.
Fleming definitely delivered an incredible novel. It was no wonder it came so highly recommended. Until the World Ends: The Complete Series was so much more than a story of a group of survivors. It was a story of all types of love, grief and everything in between. With or without zombie's walking the world this author created, this would have been a deeply moving, riveting read by Fleming. Her complex characters and character arcs, both big and small, were truly what set this novel to a 5 star read. Fleming was a new author for me, but surely won't be a stranger to my kindle. No longer will her books set a moment unread.
The only advice I can give a fellow reader is to one click. Don't bother getting one at a time, because you aren't going to stop at just Until the World Ends. I sure didn't! I read this series cover to cover in less than a week. It was incredibly hard to walk away from or fulfill my other duties as a parent, boss and friend while Cassie and her group of friend filled my thoughts. So one click already and find out for yourself why I loved this series so very much.
How much I love this series. I got into zompoc in 2011 or 2012(?) and read probably 50-60 books/series so when I say that this is genuinely one of the best, please believe this total stranger from the internet! ;)
I really hate spoilers so no synopses but I will say that it is a well edited book with few typos and grammar errors. As a former English teacher teacher I really struggle with the books that have not had either a great second/third set of eyes or a good professional edit. It’s not honestly that expensive and poor grammar is the complaint I most often see about KU/ self published books. This book does not knock you out of the story over and over. It’s also cohesive in story movement and style meaning that someone else read it for development.
In short (I know, too late), it’s well written structurally and grammatically and is in my top three of all time in this genre. Well worth the read.
PS, I’m buying the series so if it is taken down from KU, I will still have it and that is not something I am generally willing to do.
Reading this complete series became one of the most emotional roller coaster rides ever. From Cassie’s quirky and loveable sense of humour to the horrendous loss of loved ones, there are laughter and tears in abundance. There were times I had to stop reading before I was overwhelmed. Everything about this story draws you in and you experience all the highs and lows along with the characters. There is just enough gory detail along with themes about love and family to keep the most discerning reader fully immersed. I’m only sorry this series is ended.
Post Apocalyptic/ Romance Fans this is the book for you!
Loved this series! I fell in love with the characters. I laughed and even cried ugly girl tears during this fast paced series. I couldn’t put it down and didn’t want it to end. Read the whole series this week and now moving on to the authors other books. Sarah Lyons Fleming ...how have I never read your books before is a mystery?? I hope you continue to write more. Always love this genre of books and Until the End of the World, did NOT disappoint! Post Apocalypse / Romance must read!!
One of my favorite series of books of all time! You feel as though you are on this journey with these characters that become your friends. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve read them, it’s like a visit with an old friend! And then I start the City Series to catch up with my other friends, Eric, Sylvia and the gang! If you take the journey you’ll love the new friends you make!
I started with the first book and then saw it was a trilogy and decided I needed more Cassie. The first book was fun and had good character development. After reading the whole series I believe I just found a new favorite! It has everything. Love, laughter, heartbreak, action, philosophy. It fully satisfied my heart and brain. Can't wait to read it again. Wish there was more.
The characters are so individual and loveable! You laugh, cry and laugh again. It’s not one big happy story where they fight for their lives and nothing happens to them which makes it more appealing but oh it can cause the tears!!! I would highly recommend to anyone that loves a a story with conflict where no one is perfect and things happen to make the story more believable and loveable. Ready to hit the next series now!
This is hands down one of the most exciting post-apocalyptic series that I've read. The story arcs are unexpected, and the deaths hit you in the face. I was so happy for Peter's story, and his redemption arc was the best. Cassie is like the best post-apocalyptic heroine I've come across, and I read a ton of stories in this genre. Looking forward to reading more from this author. I neglected many duties to binge read this series.
Sarah Lyons Fleming can not write a bad book. There is action, zombie attacks of course. But there is found family, love-new and old. There's a sense of community and togetherness. I couldn't stop reading. The way she writes doesn't feel like a book. It feels like a memory. Like this is my life. Her 3 series combined would make an amazing movie or show
I have never read a book by Sarah that was not amzaing and this one did not dissapoint. This series is one of my favorite apocalyptic books. There's heart, there's action, there's amazing characters that keep you rooting for them. The drama keeps you reading well into the night. She does an excellent job of making you feel a part of the story and a part of the group of survivors. Heads up...have tissues handy. I can't wait for more!
Honestly I was just looking for a long series to pass the time without paying a fortune until I got paid! But oh my god, i would happily pay for this 10x over. The characters draw you in and the plot wraps up nicely at the end. I thoroughly enjoyed this and will be looking at more from this author.
This is my new favorite series! I couldn’t put it down from the moment I started!! The author had a way of making you feel like you were there. It was action packed, great humor and romance. I love the characters and how they all become a family. I cried and laughed out loud. I hope she can merge this series with the City Series somehow! ❤️
I never thought I would like this series. I usually avoid zombies books. But I was very pleasantly surprised. Miss Fleming has become one of my favorite authors. I will be keeping up with her books. This set is a well rounded storyline, good characters, good pace
After finishing the Cascadia series, with characters that I fell in love with, I decided to try another of Fleming's series. At first it was hard to warm up to Cassie and her group, but I'm so glad I hung in there and kept reading. Their story was exciting and the zombies remain a big part of the story, not just a side character. Please keep reading!
This has been my favorite books since The Hunger Games. Yes, it was about lexers (aka Zoombies) but really, it was about relationships. I love Laura's writing and use of comedy. The entire time I was reading, i had a movie running in my had. Brilliant writer!
This book was so good. Didn't want it to end. I'm not a fan of Zombies. But this book changed my thinking. I encourage everyone to read this book you will really enjoy it
Thoroughly enjoyed this series. A must read for PA fans. Main characters were warm and endearing. The losses felt. Would definitely recommend it as an addition to any PA collection.
SLF is such an amazing story teller! These books held me hostage for days. UTEOTW series is one I’ve read over and over. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Happy Reading!
Lots of fun to read during the COVID-19 virus pandemic
Lots of fun to read during the COVID-19 virus pandemic. It’s a bit long and I had hoped to learn about Eric and Maria etc., but that’s a different series
I didn't think.I would like where this was heading but I'm happy with it. I love this crazy crew and hate that it's the end. I have so much hope for their future. I still morn several Kingdom Come people.
Wow! What a great series I couldn't put it down. It was such a roller coaster of emotions. I experienced them like I was actually living in the apocalypse too. I definitely recommend this read for sure!
I really enjoyed this series. I liked how, although there was conflict with humans, the series didn't focus on human conflicts (you know, how in every book like this a group of people kidnap the women, etc, etc). I was invested in each and every character.
These books made me laugh, made me cry, made me smile. Haven’t read anything this good in years. The ending was perfect. Would love to see the series and characters continue!
I loved this series. I became engaged with the characters and I couldn't put the books down. I had to find out how everything would work out. There were lots of surprises but these books held me captive. I can't wait to start the city series.
