A prince leaving his kingdom to live a normal life. A small town librarian struggling to move on from heartbreak...can a snowstorm help this unlikely pair find love?
Prince Gabriel “Gabe” Rafferty is not to ready to become king. Gabe craves privacy and time away from the spotlight that comes with being royalty. After striking a deal with his father, he leaves his home in Delnovia to live life as a regular guy in Forest Grove, North Carolina, for six months.
Genevieve Porter is nursing a broken heart after an embarrassing breakup that was the talk of the town. She’s sworn off men and just wants to spend time with her friends and her books. After being deceived by her ex, she doesn’t trust easily.
But when a snowstorm changes both of their plans, Genevieve finds herself snowed in at Gabe’s mountain home. While Gabe hides his true identity, he is falling for the pretty librarian and the peaceful town of Forest Grove. The more time he spends with Genevieve the more he realizes what it would be like to be with someone who sees who he really is and doesn’t just see power and a title. Genevieve fears falling for the handsome newcomer. Will Genevieve risk her heart only to find out Gabe isn’t who he seems to be?
When the truth comes out, will love be enough to heal past wounds and help Gabe and Genevieve find their happily ever after?
What a sweet little romance book! A perfect cozy read during a cold, winter evening. I found that both the main characters were likeable and once introduced in the story, I was vested in seeing the outcome for these two lovebirds. Gabe and Genevieve had a sweet, almost timid, attraction to one another at first which I found to be so sweet. It was nice witnessing their romantic feelings for each other blossom as the chapters progressed.
This is a newly discovered author for me and I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sweet romances.
**Synopsis:** The King of Delnovia wants to retire, which means Crown Prince Gabe will be King in a short six months. Asking for a little of anonymity before he takes the throne, he ends up in Forest Grove.
“Give me six months as a nobody. Somewhere no one knows my name or my title. Where I can be myself and maybe learn what my calling is. Find some hobby I can enjoy when I become king.”
When Gabe literally runs into Genevieve (the town librarian), attraction sparks. With a “storm of the century” rolling through the area, Gabe and Genevieve end up snowed in a cute little cottage. Their attraction sparks even hotter, but Gabe’s desire to stay anonymous might spell certain doom for any potential relationship.

- h virgin? I don’t know. No. it’s a very clean romance - OW/OM drama? Yes. Genevieve’s ex shows up late in the book. It was just added for drama and not needed. - H/h cheat? No - Time apart? Yes. Not really any swoony moments, but Gabe was a nice guy. - Cliffhanger? No - HEA? HFN - Epilogue?Yes. Maybe a month or so later. Not sure. - Other Thoughts: This is pretty short (maybe took an hour to read) and quite predictable. Not much depth or character growth, a few references to religion (praying and going to church). It reminded me of a Hallmark movie or The Prince & Me movie - Recommend? it was ok
**Quotes** “How can I find a wife when all women ever want from me is a crown and a title?“
“That’s the thing, though. My entire life has been about becoming king. When it will happen, how I will rule, who will rule with me. All anyone sees me as is the man who will one day be king.” I don’t know who I am if I’m not the guy who will be king.“
“I want what you and Father have. The real deal. I don’t want to marry just for the sake of having a queen.”
“I love working at the library and helping people expand their world through reading.”
Although the book was excellent, it would have been nice to read about a wedding and preparations for the wedding. Maybe including her two friends from her hometown. It did not end awkwardly, so I'm thrilled with this read!
This story was cute and fun. It was also easy to see where it was going. I was a bit disappointed in the ending. The questions asked seemed forced. But it was the expected end and it was a sweet story. Even if a bit far-fetched.
Great book! Loved Genivieve and Gabe! The librarian and the prince in disguise, snowed in. Gabe is to be crowned king in 6 months. He needs to take some time away before the big event, so he finds a small community. A librarian who's been burnt by love before. Can these two find a happily ever after? Can mother nature help? What happens when the prince isn't in disguise anymore? Find out in this sizzling clean romance!:) Happy Reading!
I am a sucker for a royal romance and this is a sweet royal romance with a nice girl and a prince getting ready to be a king. It is well-written with likable characters and a a sweet HEA. If you want a quick read similar to a Hallmark royal romance. Christmas movie this is a good choice.
I really liked pretty much everything about this story. Both both gabe and genevieve were very nice characters and seemed really made for each other. Their relationship seemed comfortable from the beginning.
The author’s writing style is engaging. The plot moves slowly but with enough tension to keep things simmering. This book feels like the beginning of something much longer - the ending was abrupt and out of character.
I really enjoyed the first half of this book. Genevieve is a pretty relatable character and Gabe was surprisingly caring and sweet considering the first introduction to him made him seem like a bit of a spoiled party child. He definitely proved that assumption wrong. I really enjoyed how he often brought up attraction to her personality rather than looks (of course he still mentioned how beautiful he thought she was).
There were some obvious editing errors. I didn’t like how it was a bit hard to follow the timeline of events. The first I love you’s were also very sudden, not unexpected because I figured it would happen but neither of them had really brought up (even in thought) loving the other person. And her switching her total stance on moving from her home? We didn’t see any of her thought process on that.
I think it’d could’ve done with some more pages to fill in the gaps of missing pieces but it was a cute and easy read.
A delightful short read about Gabe (a Crown Prince) who is on a sabbatical from his royal duties before he takes over as King from his father. He goes to a small town in the USA and meets Genevieve, a librarian living there. They are snowed in for a few days and develop a deep connection. The story was predictable and there was only kissing. It was a Hallmark movie in book form. A longer and more developed epilogue would have rounded off the book better, the ending felt quite abrupt. An enjoyable read nonetheless.
On a nice rainy, snowy day, what better than a quick read. Nice that not everyone knows what they want to do in their lives. Especially when it is expected of you. It kind of reminds me of the movie: The Prince and me. This being, the librarian. Still a good story.
Great clean romance. Enjoyed the sweet story of Genovese getting gillted by a married man. Then meeting her Prince as she questions her feelings about her Prince. Then taking a leap of faith to be with him. Recommend this story for the young adult reader.
This story moved WAY TOO FAST. Yes, it's only 110 pages so it's kind of required to move quickly but it was just too much for me. I did like Gabe and Gen as characters but this easily could have been a 300 page book with significantly more build up to do it justice.
------ A cute short holiday story, about how Genevieve and Gabe met each other in a snow storm, with out her knowing he is the crown prince of Delnovia.
A book to read snuggle on the couch, I truly recommend this book.
Love reading a book about my favorite subject reading/library! This story was great because it gave the reader the ability to go back to small-town living with a twist.❤
Very sweet romance between the prince and the librarian. I really liked their chemistry during the snow storm. I would have liked to see some more of that romantic chemistry after she arrived in his home country. The story ended a little too soon for me.
I would love to be snowed in with a prince! What a thought, she was a lucky gal. The book was very interesting and I loved the characters. Very nicely written.
