One slightly insane, emotionally disturbed, desperate boy with a lot of love to give: no waiting!
I'm Taylor, I would say it's a pleasure to meet you, but I don't know you yet. I like to think I'm better off alone, but I wouldn't say no if the right guy came along.
Taylor is a high school dropout working for a local landscaping service in rural Virginia. He's been looking for love in all the wrong places. But when his middle-aged divorcee boss Ricky invites him over under the guise of work, it turns out the man has other intentions. Taylor's been working for Ricky for two years now, and Ricky thinks he might be the perfect match for his son, Johnny. However, Johnny isn't interested.
With a bruised ego and disappointed heart, Ricky and Taylor soon find there is a deeper connection between one another than either of them initially thought.

First off, I can't stand the way the narrative is written. I'm not a fan of 1st person POVs to begin with, but I sure don't like how the reader is constantly addressed.
Second, I only made it to the end of the prologue, but just in those few pages, things jumped around quite a bit and didn't really flow well. Taylor talks about his father leaving his mother, then he goes on about how he is waiting for his one true love, then goes on to talk about his mother (who lives in the same trailer park as Taylor). Then goes on to talk about his father leaving his mother again. Then it talks about his job, then him dropping out of school after his father left, then wanting to find his one true love. It would have read smoother if the talk of his father leaving his mother happened first, then lead into him leaving school, then him working, as opposed to jumping from one thing to another only to circle back.
As noted earlier, Taylor's mother lives in the same trailer park as Taylor. Which makes sense, since a) Taylor is 17 years old and b) if you dropped out of school to help your mother get by, it would hardly make since to move out (to a different trailer in the same trailer park) if you're trying to make ends meet. So, I assume if I were to keep reading, that it would be cleared up that Taylor still lives with his mother, otherwise he is just TSTL and probably should have stayed in school.
Also, Taylor dropped out at 17. At present, he is a month away from turning 18. He goes on to say he sometimes regrets his decision to drop out of school. Why not finish school when you have like a year left? Why not go back if you regret dropping out? I'm sure you could do landscaping before/after school and on weekends. I'm sure you could have graduated late. Dropping out seems like a poorly made decision.
At 17 years of age (almost 18) - as I get older, as Taylor puts it - he finds it harder to come up with excuses for why he hasn't pursued a relationship. Um... because you're 17? Because you're not even an adult? Because you apparently have so little time that you had to drop out of school in order to do some landscaping and snow removal? This is why I should read books with YA/NA characters. This kid is almost half my age and is acting like he has wasted his entire life when he hasn't even started living it yet.
'Summer' doesn't need to be capitalized, unless it's starting a sentence.
This book constantly broke the fourth wall and addresses the readers and that got annoying fast. I thought it was only going to be like that for the prologue, but nope. This is probably the most annoying MC to date. It’s written in first person, and I usually don’t have any problem with first person POVs, but this book is just the MC narrating his life instead of actually living it.
The story started slow, but once it was going I was intrigued. The main character laments in the beginning about love. There is a boy he desires. But once the opportunity arises with him, it doesn’t go the way he expects. But opens a door for something better. Definitely going to look into other stories by this author.
I have not read a story like this one before. I was a little reluctant to accept what was unfolding in the story at first but then I found myself reflecting on the statement love is love. If two people love each other then who am I to question anything about their relationship. Love is Love.
Sweetest. Daddy. Kink. EVER. You will fall in love with these two. OMFG. Also there is this one super super super hot sex scene that is so super super super hot like FAN YOURSELF hot. Jesus Christ, Daniel. We didn't know you had it in you.
A beautiful start to a series. Ricky and Taylor are boss and employee. Things heat up after Ricky tries to hook Taylor up with his son and his son turns him down. A slow burn love that is sweet sexy and beautiful. Looking forward to reading more.
This was a sweet story with a sadness and loneliness added in. Taylor is only twenty, but already has had a hard life. quitting school to help his mom out, he works for Ricky, a middle aged man as a landscaping job. Both men need somebody to love. A gentle romance starts up after Ricky's son, Johnny, turns down Taylor as a date. Jealousy almost ruins everything before it can barely get started. Worth reading this story as you follow the trail of love between two lonely men.
Kiss the Rain by Daniel Elijah Sanderfer is a short, sweet, sexy romance with an age gap. Taylor and Ricky are sweet together and also very hot. This was a quick read but definitely a satisfying treat of a read.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation
Yeah quite liked this. There was some beautiful writing in parts. It was a short easy read and could have easily been expanded. It didn’t rely on steam which kept the story moving along nicely.
