I am officially obsessed with this publication! Breathe features a lovely combination of science-based mindfulness articles and tips for ethical, inspirational living. I had a routine of reading one article during my morning or afternoon breaks at work. Afterward, I always returned to my work feeling centered and calm, motivated to spread goodness in the world.

One of my favorite features is that the authors’ names are not included in the articles or anywhere in the publication. It’s definitely a strange feature but one that I realized over time is incredibly refreshing to see amongst our culture that idolizes the individual over the collective. The words and illustrations simply speak for themselves, as it were.

Anyway, I highly recommend this publication to anyone who still loves reading print magazines and enjoys learning new ways to perceive yourself and the world around you.

The title speaks for itself. A magazine dedicated solely to the art of gratitude, for accepting life as it is and cherishing what we have and how to make the most out of every day."

Pros: Full of articles about self-reflection, inspiration, creativity, this magazine had an interesting article for almost anyone.

Cons: Near the end the articles started getting a bit repetitive but, they were all valuable lessons to be learned.

Full Review:
This magazine was full to bursting with a lot of informative and inspiration articles and things you wouldn't even necessarily consider. How to express gratitude, the different between FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and JOMO (Joy of Missing Out), that life is not a race and living in the moment and being grateful for what you have and all that you've accomplished is the real "win."

It helps you realize that you have to take time out for yourself, to truly relish some quiet time, to carve out time in your day to focus on something that you genuinely want to do. And overall, if you do that, live life gratefully and work on understanding others points of view as well as your own, you'll lead a more enriching life.

Breathe Gratitude is a special edition of Breathe Magazine. This was an impulse buy at Barnes & Noble store. I was running in quickly, in a mask, to purchase something else. I had been looking for things to be thankful for during the very challenging year of 2020 and the Breathe Gratitude cover caught my eye. I’m really glad that I picked it up. It is about gratitude, but is so much more. It also has a lot of helpful strategies to use during times of stress. I usually skip around in magazines, but this one I read cover to cover. It’s a bit pricey, but well worth the cost. I’m going to pass it on and hopefully others will benefit from reading it, too.

A week or so before Thanksgiving I was browsing a local store's magazine section when I came across Breathe, a UK-based mindfulness magazine. Each issue covers five distinct areas of life - wellbeing, living, mindfulness, creativity, and escape - while adhering to a central theme. The copy I picked up was the Breathe Gratitude Special, perfect for the approaching holiday. Here's why you should snag an issue of this magazine:

Overview
The Breathe Gratitude Special includes over 30 different articles centered around mindfulness, gratitude, and emotional wellbeing with simple suggestions for incorporating the discussed practices into one's daily routine. Almost every page features a gorgeous, colorful illustration or photograph and throughout there are several full-page spreads. The magazine's voice is gentle and reassuring and reads like advice from a friend.

Articles
The articles especially relevant to the Thanksgiving holiday include: “The power of gratitude,” an exploration of the benefits of cultivating gratitude and opportunities for expressing it; “Lots’ not to like,” a cheat-sheet to dealing with unruly acquaintances or relatives; and “Open doors to open hearts,” suggestions for embracing unexpected visits from friends, family, or neighbors.

Personally, my favorite article was "Creativity without expectations," one woman's meditation on her creative journey and the power of regularly creating with an open mind.

Takeaway
After finding the Breathe Gratitude Special, I am obsessed with this magazine! Each issue features beautiful artwork, comprehensive articles, and craft projects that are excellent resources for self-improvement and personal growth. I can see myself returning to this magazine repeatedly to review and practice its suggestions and incorporate them into my life. I'm definitely looking forward to picking up more issues for myself and am even gifting copies to my friends and family for the holiday season. If you're unsure if Breathe is the right read for you, or want to browse related content, check out their blog.
