Getting a promotion at her job is the best thing that could have happened to Michelle. Not only does she deserve it but it also takes her out from being directly under her current boss, Bryce. Although being under him could have it’s merits. She’s had this insane lust for him for months and she can’t figure it out. He’s so hot but he’s giant pain in her backside. He’s been nothing but rude and emotionless with her the whole time she has worked for him. She pushes it to the back of her mind until one day, she finds out the he also has the hots for her. She wants to trust him but past relationships have taught her that men lie to get what they want. Bryce had held his desire for Michelle in check for the whole year since he had hired her. Then one day, he just happened to overhear that she might not hate him as much as he thought. Deciding that it’s time to get back in the game after a family tragedy that kept him from getting close to anyone, he makes his feelings known. Can the two of them navigate a relationship when neither one is ready to trust?
Only With Trust is the second book in the wonderful romantic Only Series. Each book is about one relationship but is centred around friends as well. I absolutely fell in love with all the fantastic characters. Michelle is sexy, strong, sassy, loves her BFF’s and knows what she wants. One thing she does have is trust issues thanks to her past. She wants her Boss but due to trust issues and the fact he is not interested it is a moot point. Bryce has a fear of commitment stemming from his past. Now he has found someone she doesn’t want him. Or so he believes until he overhears a conversation. What will happen if he makes a move? You will have to read it to find out. This steamy sweet story is full of humour. The great characters are fun, faithful and BFF’s like no others. The story is well written, fast paced and flows well. I can’t wait to see whose story is next?
This is the second book in Bree Kraemer's The Only Series, but it can quite easily be read as a standalone. However, I would recommend that the first book, ONLY BY HIS TOUCH, is read. The reason being many characters cross over into this book and it will give a better understanding of the relationships involved.
Michelle Powers and Bryce Wickam both work in the same offie. Bryce has had an attraction for Michelle ever since she began working in his department, however he never acted on his feelings. But now Michelle has been given a promotion and hs been moved to another department - he is no longer her boss. Bryce now feels that the time has come for him to let Michelle know how he feels.
Once the couple get together, the book changes and everything becomes hot and steamy. As a result of this, I felt that the storylne regarding their relatinship really suffered. Unfortunately it became more about the sex. Such a shame as so much more could have been said about the building of the relationship. Were they in lust or in love? This question was never really answered for me. Can Michelle put aside her issues of trust and learn to give Bryce the chance he deserves?
Overall I did enjoy this book, and I will defnitely be reading morw of Ms Kraemer's novels. Her writing is witty and does keep me interested. She most efinitely does have a ot of potential.
I received a copy of this book through the Quirky Blind Date with a Book in exchange for a fair and honest review....... This is a classic office romance with gorgeous boss, Bryce and sassy junior colleague, Michelle whose attraction is mutual but both suffer commitment issues as a result of past experiences and so the scene is set...
I did enjoy the relationship between Michelle and her BFFs Sam, Sophie and Gretchen... and I thought they all seemed believable and I would like to read more about them.Equally Bryce and his interactions with the security staff, Colin and Ethan, were amusing and credible. Also this is a steamy read and I loved the developing relationship between Bryce and Michelle.
Although there was much that I enjoyed I have to say that the only character I really was not invested in was Michelle...I am not sure why but I think it is because she is a strange mix of contradictions and I simply did not connect with her.
That said it is an easy read with a bit of angst, a bit of humour, a bit of hot male and sexy woman and a whole lot of love....what else does a reader need....
This story follows he relationship between Bryce and Michelle.
I loved Michelle's strength and determination through this story. She was no wilting flower nor was she dependent on Bryce to "complete her".
Bryce was an intriguing character but didn't completely grab me as I felt he was a bit too needy. Probably my least favourite character in the book. I didn't hate him but didn't connect either.
Favourite scene from the book was the kitchen table scene..... HOTTTT
Favourite quote was “We had it this morning when we woke up. But get this, he wanted try and not have sex because he didn’t want me to think that’s all he wanted.”
The storyline was fast paced and their relationship moved along quite quickly, would have loved to see more build up in the relationship. Overall a great book and I will definitely read more books by Bree Kraemer
I read this book as part of Quirky Blind Date with a Book
Michelle has just gotten a promotion and is very happy. Now she doesn't have to report to Bryce, her stick in the mud boss. She actually secretly wants him, but the fact that she doesn't have much trust in men and Bryce's cold attitude have her thinking that it'll never happen. Then Bryce overhears something that makes him believe that Michelle wants him as much as he wants her. Sparks fly, but he has trust issues as well. Will they be able to trust each other enough to have a real relationship? I read the first book in this series, and honestly, even though there were a few things that I didn't like, I feel that it was a better book. I felt that this one just focused more on sex than an actual storyline. I also thought that there wasn't any real transition from them having sex to them being in love. It seemed rushed. The writing was okay, I just wish that there was more of a story.
Crazy Love I read the first book and immediately went to reading this one. This is a standalone series, with the characters carrying over, but different main characters as the stars. This book had Michelle Powers, a designer who had just been promoted to the Lead Designer. Bryce Wickam, her former boss, but she now reports to someone else. He's the VP of the Dept that she just left, where Sam, Sophia, and Gretchen still work. Michelle has such disdain for Bryce, who has crushed on her since he hired her over a year ago. When she finds this out, the tension between the two is explosive! However, they both have secrets and is this just lust or love? Can they figure it out or will they run? Can someone get over craziness and trust issues?
I enjoyed this book, but it didn't hit the mark for me. The sex scenes were super hot, but I wanted more from their relationship. I would have loved to see them flirting at dinner, or walking down the street holding hands. As much as I love the sex, I feel this book was all about it. It was hot, don't get me wrong, I just wanted more!
At points in the story, I did feel like the writing could have been better than what it was. I felt the ending was a tad rushed, only because the main conflict of the story happens in less than 10% left of the book. It more felt like a tiny hurdle than an actual conflict.
However, I would definitely pick up another book by Bree Kraemer. ;-)
Once Michelle gets a promotion she is no longer directly under Bryce. When he overhears one of her conversations he know now is the time to strike. They start a relationship that soon turns serious.
The characters in this book was like reading about a group of friends that you wanted to be friends with. There were times that Michelle drove me nuts with her trust issues but it is good to read a book that gets your emotions going. I will say that Bryce and Michelle's relationship was based on a lot of hot steamy sex. The only thing I wish was that we got to know both of them a little bit better.
I received a copy of this book through Quirky Blind Date in exchange for an honest review.
I am struggling with this review. I enjoyed Michelle & Bryce, but I just couldn’t find their story keeping my attention. I felt like this book was about their sex and lacked a real storyline. It was the same story as many others I’ve read: boy and girl like each other. They fight their attraction and each other. Then they are 100% into each other like they never hated each other.
Overall I think this author has potential and will look for more from her in the future, but I just needed a little more story to go with the HOT sex.
This is second book to The One Series, and I loved it. I loved Michelle in book one, she was such a great friend to Samantha and was so happy that next book is hers. This book carries on from book one. Michelle gets her promotion, she is fun and great friend but hasn't got any trust in guys. I loved Bryce, even though some think he is very emotionless he really isn't. He goes for what he wants. He is also very loving and protective. I really enjoyed this story. I can't wait to read the rest of series.
This was a quick read! Although it's book 2 in the Only series, it can be read as a standalone. This book follows Bryce and Michelle's story as they go from coworkers to lovers. Since the story is fairly short, it stands to reason that the story moves along quickly. It felt a little juvenile in the writing style in parts, but overall it was an enjoyable read! I read this book as part of the January challenge for Quirky Blind Date with a Book.
I was disappointed in this book. I would have appreciated better character development and more story. Instead, the reader was given quick scenarios and even quicker acceptance. If I am reading about characters who have a mistrust due to experiences in their lives, I expect to actually feel that mistrust and the trust subsequently earned. Unfortunately, I felt neither.
this was another amazing book you wrote! its about a woman who has the hots for her new boss only to find out he has the same feelings! its hot a sexy ! she has some trust issues just like he does. its a hot sexy love affair! thanks for giving me a chance to read this book!
This is the second book in the series. I loved Bryce and Michelle's story and was really routing for them. They had some huge obstacles to overcome but together it worked out in the end. This is a must read, get your copy today.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review. Bryce and Michelle chemistry is steamy hot. Love all the characters and their sense of humor.
This is the second book in the series but it can be read as a standalone. That being said I suggest that you try book 1 as well because it is a good book. Michelle has recently gotten a promotion that she is very happy to get because she deserves it and it takes her away from her old boss, Bryce, who she has had a major attraction to. Bryce has always been ride and mean to her and Michelle doesn't know why and is shocked when she finds out that he has the same feelings for her and that he has been holding back. Bryce is dealing with his own tragedy that makes him afraid to get close to another person and Michelle has her own trust issues as well.
I do agree with some other reviews that say there is too much hanky panky and not enough relationship. The irony is that even in the book they say they need to do "more relationship stuff" so that its not just a bedroom relationship. The sudden liking on both parties seems a bit forced as well because it seemed like they greatly hated each other at the beginning. Transitions were not handled well, the characters and plot seemed a bit shallow as well. I think if little more time had been spent in developing the relationship more that this would have been a stellar book.
This is an amazing series. Each book different with characters that make you swoon. The stories are touching and real enough that you can almost forget you're reading a book. Each one is about a hurdle the couple must overcome in order to get their hea. You can't help but become invested in their coming to terms with whatever demon or skeleton that is keeping them from happiness. Each book is a standalone read but the characters are friends so you get to know them all better with each book. The stories will warm your heart after it rips it apart and the author puts it all back together. The reads are steamy with a great storyline to keep you all hot and bothered.
Love this author. Grab your fan and some ice to keep you cooled off as you read them. Tons of fun with these sassy women and the men who love them. No one is perfect but finding your perfect match makes it all worthwhile especially when they love you no matter hat your personal cra cra is all about.
