Exploring Jesus' parable of the persistent widow (Luke 18:1-8), Sorge helps to explain why God sometimes bears long with His elect, articulates God's purpose in the wait, expounds on how justice involves both restoration and restitution, and ignites faith to believe God to avenge us of our adversary.
Bob Sorge is “the speaker who can’t talk”—that is, he is reduced to a whisper because of a debilitating vocal injury he suffered over 20 years ago. Through the journey, God has given him an empowering message that explores God’s purposes in fiery trials. It’s not the fire that changes you but your pursuit of God in the fire that changes you. Bob has a unique way of helping us process our journey so we stay in the race and overcome. Whether you’re reading one of his books or listening to him, you’re about to receive a message from the heart of God that will strengthen your faith and draw you into greater intimacy with Jesus.
Don't just read it, practice it by yourself and with others. Form a Study Group to digest the principles, to list down huge impossible requests and to track down how God changes you and answers your prayers from the priceless gems found in this treasure trove. The author has paid a steep price for those gems. Many of you who have gone through similar tough times will identify with those gems. But for those who have not yet experienced such trials, when you do, you will remember this book and draw from it. I bought this book sometime 2016 but didn't touch it till August 2021 when the LORD led me to it. The timing was right. In 2016, I would not have been as desperate as I am now to hunger for such nutritional food for the soul.
Using the parable of the persistent widow as his starting point, Sorge explains how the prayer of faith is also one of persistence. What seems to be a lack of answer could well be God working to bring us out with more restoration and restitution than we dreamed possible. Everything that I've read by this author has been good. In this particular case, he's writing from the place of his own experiences of needing to persist in prayer holding on to the Promise that God has given him.
I am so thankful that I discovered Bob Sorge. Oh saints of God this insightful book is for anyone who has been through the fire of delayed answers in prayer. So encouraging. Please read
Bob Siege has done it again - he shares no plan B - no matter what. It is a challenge for each of us - is God who we say He is - no matter what? Or do we try and find another way to handle things.
