Can we stop with this recycled plot already unless we can actually bring something out of the box to the table?

And it was SO forced and pointless.

He kept on saying he didn’t meant to use her, he didn’t mean to introduce her as his wife. Then WHY DID HE???? Why did he even take her to the event? What was the point?

And all this AFTER he got the grant. So yeah, nah. All the points are moot.

The h’s mum needs to die, or unconditionally disappear from her life.

This was a nice, fun, short romance! I enjoyed Cadence and Gabriel's story, but the description did not describe what the book is that well. I loved the development of their relationship and especially Gabriel's relationship with Cadence's daughters, but the whole "Lie for Me" part did not come until the very end of the book and was resolved far too quickly for my taste. Besides that, it was just a fun read :)

Another great read by Ali Parker who once again brings strong,well developed characters in Cadence and Gabriel as well as her daughters Hazel and Autumn. She brings the story to life with her descriptive writing and detailed scenes and brings a heartwarming story that captured me from beginning to end. I loved reading their story and would highly recommend this book.

Candence and Gabriel have a beautiful journey to discover. This single divorced mother of two small girls has struggled to get her life on track. Gabriel has been a single man for most of his adult life, what he wasn't expecting was to find his future walk into his retreat with her work colleagues for a team building weekend. Thus is a warm caring beautifully written second chance at love story for a warm beautiful woman who never thought she would find true love. Of course you will read drama and such a sweetheart of a man captivated by a woman and her girls that mean the world to Gabriel who will do whatever it takes to correct his mistakes.

Gabriel and Cadence will win your heart and take you on a romantic roller coaster. What began as a fake relationship turned into a real one with a ready made family. The characters were well developed and likable. The little girls were precious and it was easy to see how they won Gabriel's heart. A second chance at love for two wounded souls. The story line kept my interest and there were some twists to keep things suspenseful.

This was a good read. Cadence is trying to live her life by raising her two daughters. Gabriel is single man who runs a retreat. They meet when she shows up there and they fall hard and fast. However, due to Cadence's ex she is reluctant to go all in in. After a misunderstanding she realizes that he is worth the risk and in the end they get their happy ending.

Finding Love When Unexpected ❤🔥❤🔥❤

When you truly love somebody there is no such thing as baggage. Cadence works as an accountant supporting herself and her two daughters after her deadbeat ex husband walked out on them two years ago. Gabriel owns a small retreat and loves the solitude of being one with nature. That is until he meets an upset client over a single bed in her cabin with the three of them. Gabriel gives Cadence more than his cabin for the weekend because her just can't keep his eyes off her or the spark that ignites when she smiles. Gabriel has an instant connection with not just Cadence but her two daughters, Hazel and Autum, also. Cadence has some trust issues and expects things to go south because of it's too good to be true it must be. When Gabriel invites Cadence to New York for a chance to get a donation to improve the retreat and introduced her as his wife all her fears come true. What lengths will Gabriel go through to prove he wants her and her daughter's in his life and nothing means more to him??? Will Cadence give him a chance to explain or is she too afraid to trust her heart?? I love how Ali gives Autumn and Hazel their own personalities and includes them through the story making them real. An exciting love at first sight story bringing this Insta family together as one. A definite MUST READ!!! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and purchased a copy for my favorites collection. i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Gabriel and Cadence. Gabriel owns a wilderness retreat and is in the running for a monetary grant from a foundation that is looking for a worthy cause, but they think Gabriel is married with a family. Gabriel is single and runs the retreat with his best friend, but he thinks it shouldn't matter he is single. When Gabriel hosts an accounting firm, he meets single mother Cadence. Gabriel is instantly attracted to Cadence and even gets along with her two daughters, and Cadence decides to live in the moment and give into her feelings for Gabriel, thinking it will only be a fling for the weekend. Cadence had a bad divorce and is scared to trust again, but Gabriel is different and she wants to see him again. They begin a relationship and Cadence returns to the retreat where Gabriel invites her and her girls to visit with him over Christmas. The visit is special and they begin to have feelings for each other, and when Gabriel asks Cadence to go with him to New York to give the presentation for the grant, she agrees. I really loved this story. I loved how Gabriel was with the girls and treated them like they were special. I think Gabriel and Cadence had amazing chemistry and a great connection. Gabriel was a good man who treated Cadence like she deserved. Another great one.

Lie For Me is Ali's latest creation and displays such realism; the characters and the storyline is so easily envisioned. How many Authors can draw you right in, the way Ms. Parker does? She does this all with such ease, and that is why she is one of my favorites.

Within these wonderfully written pages, you are introduced to Gabriel and Candence. She is a single Mother to her Daughters and he is a single & gorgeous man. When these two fated individuals meet for the first time, the heat is intense & their chemistry can't be denied. When an opportunity arises and Gabriel needs help, it is Candence who comes to the rescue. However, Gabriel starts to see what could be and things begin to become clearer for him, as he plays for keeps.

Gabriel is my absolute favorite character in this addictive release. Should you be a fan of superbly designed romance, trust that this is the book for you.

Gabriel owns a retreat in the wilderness and is hoping to expand his business but he needs help as a finance company that he has spoken too want to meet his family! What family?? He is lonely until he meets Cadence who comes to the retreat with her company. She is a divorced single mum of two delightful girls and they could be the family he so wants. Can Gabriel persuade Cadence, who is an accountant, to help him get the finance his expanding business by pretending to be a real family? This is a lovely easy to read Christmas story that could make a heart seem as if it will melt. The chemistry between the two of them is palpable but will he see her after her company's retreat? There is so much going on, and yet, it is believable and I enjoyed how it all panned out. Ali Parker's stories are exceptional and I always finish one of her books feeling contented, happy, amused and satisfied after a good HEA. I received a reader's copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here. Most definitely recommended.

Oh my gosh! That ending was just so cute. It’s a bit of an emotional roller-coaster getting Gabriel and Cadence there, though. Confirmed bachelor and outdoorsman, Gabriel is neither expecting nor prepared for the way his life is about to change when Cadence walks through his door. As a single mother and survivor of a particularly horrible marriage, Cadence has little love left for men and is especially distrustful of the attractive ones. Gabriel pushes all her buttons – both good and bad. So, how’s she supposed to deal with the overwhelming chemistry drawing them together? Give in to it, of course, and then run like the wind. Except Gabriel’s playing for keeps; so long as his own secrets don’t blow his dreams to kingdom come. This pair is perfect together. I really loved watching how gently Gabriel treats Cadence and her daughters, showing them that a real man values the women in his life.

Gabriel and Cadence draw you into this story right from the beginning. When a financial benefactor asks Gabriel to bring his family for a presentation for the board, he is tasked to find one to make it work for him to capitalize on receiving the money. Enter Cadence who is on a work retreat at Gab riel’s place. He is captivated right from the start and asks her to bring her family back for Christmas. Will she go along with his plans to be his family so he can receive the financial backing for his retreat or will fate step in and really bring these two together for a happily ever after? I loved the character dynamics and the story setting. Is a descriptive and as you read, the story comes alive in your mind. I love Ms. Parker’s writing style for this factor because you feel like you are right there alongside the characters! I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Cadence and Gabriel, a beautiful love story. Cadence is a single, divorced, full-time working mom with two girls. Her ex did a job on her when he just walked out two years ago and left leaving her to provide for herself and her two girls. When her company goes on a family team building nature retreat, she meets Gabriel, the owner. Their attraction for each other is instant and heated. Gabriel is kind, patient and thoughtful. Everything a woman wants. And Gabriel loves her two daughters also. Can one mistake on Gabriel’s part ruin their blossoming love? This book is full of happy moments, intense feelings, and a love for a lifetime. You will fall in love with Gabriel’s personality, his demeanor, his pure heart, his love for Cadence and her two daughters and his honesty. Really good book.

This was super cute and a sweet read that I loved. Cadence is a single mom working so hard to provide all things her girls could ever need or want, but it is slowly wearing her down and she is way overdue for relaxation. I loved Cadence was a hard worker and tried so hard to give her girls everything they could ever want or need, but all they want is more time with her, so the work retreat that her boss sets up is exactly what they need. Gabriel is the owner of the cabin retreat and he loves his life of solitude away from the hustle and bustle of city life, but when he meets Cadence and her adorable girls he finds himself wanting more out of life. These two have instant chemistry but are both afraid of getting hurt. This was a very cute read with amazing characters and a fantastic storyline.

Sparks fly when Gabriel and Cadence meet when her company visits his retreat for a family getaway. Cadence has two wonderful daughters and had a terrible experience with her ex. She does not trust men. Gabriel has never had a relationship and is surprised by the immediate attraction he has to Cadence and the bond he feels with her daughters, Autumn and Hazel. Can these two overcome their pasts to see the beautiful future they could have together? Will a lie come between them and dismantle all of their previous experiences? This is a wonderfully developed story with lots of depth and growth and of course steam! I received an advanced readers copy of this book and am gladly leaving this review.

When least expected love comes along
Cadence and her mother take her two daughters on an outing to a wilderness retreat for a weekend. When the only cabin available only has a single bed, he offers them his cabin. They spend considerable time together, and he asks her to bring them back for Christmas along with her mother. During that visit he asks her if she would go to New York with him for a presentation to be awarded a grant for the expansion and development of the wildlife facilities on his property. There’s a big misunderstanding, and she flees NYC before he has a chance to explain. Will they find happiness as a family in the wilderness? A delightful read with great characters.

Exceptional sweet story for Gabriel, Candace and her family. Truly a love story that both these characters needed to feel love. A work event at Gabriel's retreat in the woods allowed Candace and Gabriel to meet and enjoy a fantasy evening which fueled and ember of lust that led to love for them. Candace had a marriage to a husband that ended badly and left her trust of men to be jaded. Gabriel is truly a caring, protective, remarkable man who would do anything to make Candace happy. I could not put this book down. It was a pleasure to read and I wanted Gabriel to become part of Candace's extended family. A heart warming read.

A lovely romance tale full of fun and family

Cadence, an accountant and single mom, meets Gabriel, nature retreat owner, when her company visits one weekend for a team building exercise. As the story progresses a connection is made, another opportunity arises, and a misunderstanding could ruin it all. Ali Parker’s Lie For Me is a lovely romance tale full of fun and family. I would love for Leo to get his own story and see what happens to the retreat at that point.

Lie for Me. I really enjoyed this book! It was a sweet romance story that captures the heart. I enjoyed the characters especially the children which makes the story fun. Gabriel comes off as the perfect man and is just what Cadence needs to boost her confidence back up after the bad marriage she had with Trent. Something doesn't go as plan,and Cadence thinks she's been made a fool again. But Gabriel isn't giving up on them and will fight for their happy ever after. I enjoyed reading about Gabriel and Cadence love story. However, the story in the beginning, I considered slow. It took me a while to read the first100 pages. Cadence and Gabriel met during a retreat that Cadence corporate office was having at his mountain resort. Gabriel took a fancy to Cadence and her two girls that were interested in the nature center that surrounded the resort. This is a wonderful story where both Cadence and Gabriel found love, respect and honesty in their relationship. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC for my honest review.

What a sensationally heartfelt holiday romance from Ali Parker. Cadence is a single mother of two struggling to provide for her family. Gabriel is the owner of a bird sanctuary and a cabin retreat. The attraction between Cadence and Gabriel is off the charts intense and the insta-love between them and the kids was so sweet. Lie for Me is a well written romantically sweet and passionate holiday romance with wonderful characters that readers will fall in love with. I couldn’t put this new book down.

It's the story of Candace and Gabrial and it's a HEA.
He runs a Wilderness Retreat and her Company books a weekend there for team building. There eyes lock across the room,etc etc etc...
I normally love Ali's writing but this book is not one of her best. It's full of time worn cliches, and I'm not sure but some of it just seems so familiar to me like I've read it in one of her other books.
Dont get me wrong I read the whole book and it didnt take me very long to do so. I enjoyed it. I just dont think it was one of Ali's best

A true honor to have been able to read LIE TO ME, it's deserving of your time, money, heart and emotions.

The storyline is brilliant. Descriptive, vivid, and takes you away in ways that Calgon would get jealous of. The characters will have you under their spell. I was so honored to spend time with them, through it all, to get that ending that is so befitting for them.

Ali gives you the kind of romance that you appreciate. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntary review.

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review. I just finished this book and OMG, it was so good!!! It was the perfect time mixture of sweet and steamy. Cadence is a jaded, tough, single mom and Gabriel is the loner without anyone. They meet at his retreat and sparks fly. Of course, there are some bumps in the road, but they are solved fairly quickly, which I was glad for. This was a good book and a quick read. This has been one of my favorite books written by Ali.

This was another amazing book. It showed us how hard life is when you're trying to raise kids by yourself and juggle a job as well. Then you have a guy who needs to find a family fast. But when we read more about this story we a atch these people fall head over heels and become something that they both have been looking for. An incredible story and I hope we see the partner get his own story. I give it 5 stars.  I voluntarily read and reviewed this as an Advanced Reader's Copy
