Pretty enjoyable read which had a slight Hunger Games touch to it (funnily the heroine also thought so), but mainly it was about the relationship between the heroine ( human who was kidnapped and dumped on the prison planet) and the hero ( warlord who looks human except for the gold tinge to his skin and canine teeth (Dracula’s relative perhaps) - his description reminded me a lot of Khal Drogo, so I was a lot more forgiving of his neanderthal ways).

The interactions between the mcs were fun, perhaps a tad too much push and pull...and they don’t have sex until half way into the book. The storyline itself was nothing new...soul mates, which they both are fighting and denying...and the h doesn’t realise the H loves her (although his actions are screaming it all the time) until he says those 3 words near the end...cue the eye roll 🙄.

Negatives: The book featured the wanna-be OW, and it annoyed the hell out of me how the h never told the H all the nasty things the OW did to her. Also, the book featured rape...not to the h but it happened around her and I felt it kinda glossed over it.

I didn’t realise this was book 4 in a series...but I didn’t feel like I was missing much...there were some characters who made an appearance which I think probably were the main mcs in the previous books.

These books are prison.

Main characters Jorrick and Marcy.
Marcy is a human female giant at like 6’2. She seems nice enough. But how does she keep getting beat up over and over assaulted by the snippy female Jityria that has it bad for the main male. Like seriously, WHYYYYY wouldn’t you tell Jorrick what Jityria keeps doing? No wonder this chick got abducted. She’s not the brightest bulb on the tree.
Jorrick was so so at best. Sounded rather human looking. So don’t go expecting this to be alien romance. It’s just large humanoid with tall human female.
No exciting action.
Bunch of push pull in the relationship.
WHY did everyone keep thinking she had magic and it being brought up over and over through the book. And guess what? That’s right, she has No Magic. So why keep fluffing this up with anticipation that she might?
Will not try anymore in this series.
Two stars strictly for it being Sci if romance. Even if the romance was basically nonexistent.

I read this before any of the other books in the series. I felt a little lost since I missed "the chase" but other than that it was ok to follow along.
I liked that Marcy was strong and tried to make the best of her situation.
Jorrick was harder to like and he only really redeemed himself near the end.

This was a decent read and kept me wanting to keep
going to see what would happen. It did have alot of tropes and had a lot of frustrating things, too. It wasn’t the best or the worst and I really wish that Marcy and Jorrick had been a little smarter and her a little more communicative and maybe they could’ve avoided all those people on their side being massacred and raped, huh? I also really wanted them to defeat the bad guy using their brains but instead seemed to win with an easy solution all wrapped in a nice bow. Also, the kind, non-human females were disregarded in the end of the story, which felt wrong and racist.

Also, if you are expecting hot and sexy from the beginning, be warned that this is a slow burn. To me, felt like the premise set up promised one thing and delivered another. And it kept annoying me how everyone kept telling Marcy to shut up throughout the story when she had important shit to say that could have helped.

I read this one out of order and have not read the others in this series. Give it a shot and see for yourself.

I think I should polish my ratings cos it's been solely based on how much I like the story.

The reality of being abducted by aliens and thrown into their world. Reality but of course touch of the good part e.g. "I claim you" "You mine" "No one else touch her." We have Marcy thrown into an alien world and was given- kind of- to the strongest fighter that'll fight for her. It was Jorrick, one of the Warlords of that World.

Slow burn as hell but it's so cute. Numerous Jorrick POV saying I really should bone her and then not doing it was frustrating as hell.

Hit me with a "Who did this?" 60% in and that just broke me. Those worlds really work like magic.

I needed more from them. I think there's gonna be more but Jorrick and Marcy was just a side character for the world that was being built.

I was expecting a bunch of alien smut. I was surprised about how much of a slow build up it was. There's no sex really until like halfway through.
Other than that, the writing felt amateurish, I mean a vagina clenches during sex... not your frikkin womb!! It felt like it needed a couple more editing passes.

The previous book was better

This one is downward gross, but if you like being referred as chattel and loving it go read the book. Did not liked the main male character and could not understand the female attraction to him at all.

DNF 30% I didn't like the writing, I hated H, h was starting to seem stupid, all the "fight" we're told she has is non-existent, and aliens are basically slightly bigger humans. At least the ones that are described in any kind of detail. The rape happening around was merely glossed over, and it wasn’t painted all that negatively just because it didn’t happen to h. Like the warlord wasn’t so bad because he hadn’t raped anyone (yet, because he constantly thought of forcing h), but he just allowed it to happen, encouraged it, even. I didn't want H to have a happy ending. I felt like whatever the reason he was there, he deserved every second of hell he had experienced. So I just stopped. I won't be reading anything else in this series, or from the author.

Just Admit It

I loved this story because Jorrick and Marcy had a lot of battles to overcome to find their happiness. Because he was a barbaric alien and she was an abducted human female there were so many cultural differences to deal with. Throw in treachery, jealousy and a hunter gatherer society and it was game on. I bought the book was well written, engaging and the world building was brutal but fascinating. I hope to read more in this world.

Not great but not bad either! The inner turmoil of the mmc/alien warlord/barbarian to want/not want physical relations with fmc was weird. Like, bro you’re a freakin deadly warlord and you’re hung up on your ex?!?! But I liked the world the author created. The fmc had some funny moments but felt like she let the ow off the hook too much. I enjoyed the book but it seemed to drag a bit at the end.

Amazing!

This is my favorite book of 2023! I can't even believe how deep I went into this book. Marcy was everything a heroine should be. She wasn't weak even when she was frightened. I can't forget about Jorrick. I wanted to hate him but I found that he was everything I would have wanted if I had been captured. Seriously, give this book a shot. I 100% recommend this!

Trigger Warning!! Violence. forced dub-con and rape.
Oh my YES!!!
This book was a great story of what we can endure and yet live and even love. I have to read the rest of the series and see what happened to the other women.
While I do recommend this be warned, there's gore and assaults that may cause triggers in some.

Hot hot 🔥

The warlord takes Marcy for revenge but finds himself falling in love with her. Trouble is he doesn't want to. Protecting her proves to be near impossible . Steamy hot love scenes.

Surprisingly enjoyable story, full of action and featuring very endearing alien male.
Marcy is unusual female character taking into consideration her physical appearance as well as her psychological constitution.
The story is fast-paced, interesting and weirdly romantic.

This one was darker than the second book but not overly dark. There was violence and sexual threat as well as slavery and ownership but nothing sexual was un-consentual between the hero and heroine. He also treats her reasonably well given circumstances.

The real bad guy is a rival warlord and of course a girl from the camp harem. I'm tired of this jealousy trope, especially in stories like this where the heroine isn't exactly there consentually. It just rubs the wrong way.

There is rather a lot of fascination with baths but nothing particularly spicy, obviously waiting for it to become consentual.

I think this story again got a bit stagnant in the middle (though maybe less so) before picking up again for the climax which was maybe not quite so dramatic or drawn out. I did love getting to see the characters from the previous book again.

THIS WAS DOPE! I LOVED HOW THE MC'S CHEMISTRY WAS DRAWN OUT IN A GOOD WAY, COUPLED WITH SEXUAL ATTRACTION AND THE FLUFFY STUFF. THIS ISN'T INSTA LOVE AND THANK GOSH FOR IT!

HERO is a warlord. Duh. In order to exact his revenge against another warlord, Allock who had played him with a female before, Jorrick claims a human female to use against Allock. The redhead human wasn't someone he ever expected to come into his life. Despite wanting to use her for his own agenda, he can't help but succumb to her allure and soon it's hard not to let her go. What made the story a page turner was because the characters don't immediately fall in love. There are many defining moments which puts Jorrick and Marcy in situations out of their comfort zone, or rather interactions that define their status in the clan. Jorrick is a hulk size barbarian sporting a mountain man beard. He's also ruthless against enemies and very suspicious of beings he meet, always second guessing Marcy's true nature since he was once betrayed by a female he had strong feelings for. Obviously that female was dead by his hands now. Jorrick may be all huff and gruff but underneath that beats a soft heart that is afraid to be hurt again while secretly he craves affection and intimacy.

HEROINE is a fighter with spirit as bright as her hair. A belly dancer instructor on Earth, she's now a captive slave to Jorrick the warlord who while claims her as his, they never do any hanky panky for the first half of the book although the attraction simmers and build while the reader get to know more about this fictional world. We get to meet old characters too like Toren and Sara. I loved how Marcy is a smart fighter, where she learns to pick her battles and when to submit. But she ain't no pushover.

OVERALL this kept me up for hours and it didn't bore me for a second. Mainly because the characters don't succumb to their feelings so soon which gives for more to read about, coupled with some intense feelings that had me tearing up a little. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS! IT IS COMPLETE WITH AN ALPHA HERO, STRONG HEROINE AND GREAT SEXUAL TENSION.

I love this barbarian prison planet world!!

I read the first book in this series what seems like several years ago. I was so excited to see the next book was available. This is Marcy's book. Hopefully Emma's book will come soon too!
She survived The Chase and is now in the Arena where the men on the Prison Moon planet fight over the woman they want. When a certain Warlord stepped into the ring everyone else walked out.
Warlord Jorrick took Marcy in order to get revenge on another warlord. The other warlord believes that because Marcy has red hair that she has magic.
Even though Jorrick took Marcy to use as bait for revenge he started to fall for her no matter how much he fought it.
The biggest problem is that they have a traitor or two in their camp. Sara and Toren from book one make a spectacular appearance .

This book made me want to read it again right after I finished it. The author developed a riveting world where not only the strong survive but they have to fight just to live with food and shelter. The story gripped me from the first chapter and it didn’t let me go until the very end. The author not only gave us a brutal world where the woman meant nothing but also developed an idea of love outside our norm.

Macy is kidnapped by aliens and brought to the Prison Moon where the prisoners fight for the right to have a woman and do with her as they please. She resists and fights until she can’t anymore, but the Warlord wins her anyway. She’s nothing but a pawn against a rival until her Warlord can’t gamble with her life anymore.

Lily Graison has done it again! Sci-fi romance is not my favorite genre, but all I can say is “wow”! Prison Moon: Warlord’s Mate has it all—intrigue, amusement, adventure, and romance, as well as being very action-packed. This book is about Marcy Duncan, a human who was kidnapped from Earth by an alien spaceship. As she is about to become the battle prize of the evil alien warlord Kr’Atek, she is unwillingly rescued by a tall, sexy alien warlord named Jorrick. He takes Marcy back to his camp, and both Marcy and Jorrick battle their feelings for each other while outside forces are determined to separate them. I found this book very entertaining and enjoyable.

Marcy Duncan has been living in a horror show ever since she landed on the prison moon. When the Warlord Jorrick "wins" her away from another Warlord's champion in the arena, she is terrified about what happens next. On his part, Jorrick is pleased to get a pawn to use in his fight against his rival. Following this story to its conclusion is frightening, exciting and difficult, and I couldn't put it down!

This is a new genre from Lily Graison and I wasn’t sure if it was for me, but..... Lily proved me wrong! A fast paced story in a world we’ve never been to or seen before. Great characters, romance, twists and turns throughout and of course.... Good hot sex! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and look forward to reading more in this series. I would recommend this to sci-fi readers and those readers who’ve read Liliys western romance books too. Well done Lily, great writing 😊

Warlord

The book and the world of prison moon is fantastic and quite blood thirsty. Though someone needs to teach the earth girls a Marshall art so that they can protect themselves from vicious females.
