This book is full of interesting, well-designed embroidery patterns, and its section on color theory sets it apart from the crowd of recent books on this subject. Although I liked the patterns in this book and would recommend it on that basis alone, I also recommend it to anyone who wants guidance on how to select floss colors for other projects.

In this time of COVID, I have revisited a few of the crafts that I originally learned from my mother. This book was a real incentive to begin. This book is a more contemporary instruction guide. Most helpful was the review of tools, fabric and the review of needles and hoops. Tracing of the patterns was the most informative lesson for me. There is a short section with the most used stitches as well as an artistic review of the color wheel. Then you see the finished patterns that they supply. The idea of this book is to use the patterns for small hoop displays. However, you are shown how the same patterns can also be used for direct placement on clothing, linens, etc. Well, this will get me started again on my pursuit of this simple craft that will be another calming and creative practice in my life. I will be able present personal gifts and above all it will remind me of my first embroidery efforts given to me by my mother.

This book has helped me muster the confidence to pick up some materials and start embroidering, mostly due to the attractive and simple designs, easy to understand instructions and designs that for with contemporary living so they can be displayed at home rather than shoved in a drawer to gather dust. Bright and cheerful inspiration and ideas for practising stitches.

Clear instructions, beautifully laid out book, and awesome patterns. I was going to buy some patterns from her Etsy but then realized all my favorites were in this book!

Updated designs for embroidery projects with somewhat clearer stitch instructions than other books (YouTube is still best for this). Color theory, materials, but just 20 designs, so make sure there's something you like in there before buying. Most designs are simple enough for beginners.

Helt okej med tydliga förklaringar för nybörjare men inget superspännande enligt mig.
