I enjoyed this somewhat disturbing tale of a punishing hero who finds the one contract that defies his expectations. The reader is as disoriented as our hero and heroine while the dark truths between them are carefully revealed through the plot points.

I’ve been reading a few dark romances lately where I want more details about world-building 🤨🤨🤨 but also the implausible but hot scenarios that come as a result are too good 🤷🏻‍♀️ and I have no time to be annoyed and question things because I am distracted by another excellent steamy scene 🥰

A little vague on the world here, but this is a series so I assume the world gets built out. The romance development was fast-tracked. One scene of betrayal is immediately followed by instant Prince Charming. I still have no idea why contracts would work but just here enjoying the ✨vibes ✨

My Thoughts:
The following are my thoughts about this book:

I’m still a little hazy on the overall plot. Apparently Cassian is in the business of punishing girls for families that want to bring the girl into line or they want the girl to pay for the family’s sins. For five days he holds the girls captive and “breaks them” by spanking, hitting with belt, shaming or embarrassing them. Ummmm....ok. Just, WOW. 😳 My first thought.....how come only girls are punished for the family sins?

So, once I kind of grasped the concept, which took awhile, I was ticked that he was not an equal opportunity punisher.

Now, the Hero....clearly not one I would drool over. His line of work leaves a lot to be desired.

So, on to the heroine. My first impression was that she was a fighter, but within 5 minutes of being in Cassian’s presence and getting spanked she’s all hot and bothered. Cue the eye roll. 🙄🤦‍♀️

From there it was five days of spanking, hitting with the belt and denying and then giving in to their passion. Over and over and over and over. Omg......where was the actual story among all the “punishing”???? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

So many things didn’t make sense because the story primarily revolved around the sex. I’d flip the page hoping for some answers, but nope.....surprise, surprise, a spanking, BDSM scene. So, in the end I was left with unanswered or flimsy explanations. Who is this Luther guy and why does he have such a hold on everyone? If the brother is so vicious, how can Cass be ok turning everything over to him knowing what will happen to the next girls. What’s the deal with the king (which was mentioned a couple times)? Why was it important to mention KLM? What exactly was Justice’s involvement in her dad’s & brother’s business? What exactly is their business? Where’s the sister?

I shouldn’t have spent my time reading this. It was confusing and any type of plot was completely lost among the repetitive spanking / sexual scenes.

Oh my goodness!!! What a read this was! This book is a short but whole lot of steamy read. The tension between the characters was palpable, the heat they felt....oh my god! I was completely captivated right from the start. Every word pulled me in and by the end I was so sad I had to leave.

Justice is a strong heroine, there was nothing I didn’t love about her. Cassian is serious and mysterious. I may have swooned a little for him while reading this book. I found this book HOT! I also found my eyes misting up towards the end of the book! I really felt a lot of emotions while reading. I think this book is so so so SO good! I’d definitely recommend it.

I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one evening. Justice was a sassier heroine than some of the more recent heroines in Amelia Wilde’s books. Since this book is so short the characters are not as developed as in her more recent trilogies. It’s a fast racy read dealing with a trope I’ve never read about before. The H Cassian has taken over the family business. He is paid to discipline people. This might be parents that pay him to discipline wayward daughters or an enemy might pay him as a means to exact retribution on a family by disciplining a daughter. There’s a lot of spanking going on but if you read or follow Amelia Wilde on TikTok you know that’s her thing and she ain’t stopping!

Well, well, well, Amelia Wilde don't you just have a hitherto unknown dark and twisty side?

I am a lover of dark romances, so this book was right up my street. So much so that, despite it being a work day, I read this into the small hours of the morning just so I could finish it. On the scale of all things dark this was a pretty decent shade of grey. There is no non-consensual sex/rape but there are some pretty severe punishments which border the dub-con/non-con line.

Ms Wilde really thought through both her characters and plot, so I found myself both engaged by them and believing in them. Cassian wasn't an antihero, which can often weaken a dark romance, but he was alpha and unrelenting enough to satisfy me. He knew Justice hadn't entered into 'the contract' consensually, but extenuating circumstances forced his hand, he also tried to make the best of a bad situation.

Justice had a naivety and innocence at her core, but she was also a spitfire and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about her. The chemistry between Cassian and Justice was intense and with the book being written from both pov's it was easy to buy into their connection. The book is actually only set over a handful of days, so it was fairly insta-love, however the book focused very closely just on the main two characters and this was one occasion where I actually felt it.

Whilst this might not be or all her fans, I really do recommend it if you like a darker read.

Loved this deliciously dark romance!

Justice and Cassian are an amazing couple, coming together with such intensity that just grabbed me from the start and kept me captivated throughout. Definitely darker than this author's usual fare, it's full of twists and turns and more than a few "Oh my!" moments.

The epilogue was sweet with its own surprise, and the HEA was gratifying to see. These are fascinating characters, full of life and tackling their situation head on, and it was a thrilling read from the first page to the last. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Justice Danes is looking for a way out to escape her life and family. What she doesn’t expect is Cassian Locke. Cassian acts as an arbiter in his family’s business, dealing out the appropriate degree of punishment with a cold and impartial hand. What he doesn’t expect is Justice Danes. When Justice is ripped off the streets and handed over to Cassian, they both are confronted by emotions they never expected to feel.

This is a dark romance that will punch you in the heart and leave you breathless. Cassian may seem to be the Dom you’d love to hate, but you will end up just loving him. Justice may seem to be another socialite looking to get out from under the thumb of her overprotective family, but there’s more to her than even she’s aware of. It’s a love story that will pull you in, rough you up, and hold you hostage until the very end. Its unique storyline has a fascinating cadence which keeps you easily engaged from start to finish. I highly recommend this enthralling story!

Since this book ends with a HEA, I'm classing it as a romance, but it does not read that way. Over half the book is dedicated to the male MC spanking the female MC or otherwise punishing her to the point that it became repetitive. Neither character rang true, and the steamy bits left me cold. There plot holes were extensive and impossible to ignore. I ended up skimming the second half.

This is a unique story which is totally different from this talented authors’ usual style, and hats off to her for the well thought out story and plot. Justice is a feisty and strong female, who is trying to escape from her life and family, and when she is abducted she is delivered to Cassian who is a dark and intense alpha. No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a well written steamy story, which is dark, intense, mysterious, and with twists and suspense. I was captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all.

Wow! Justice and Cassian relationship was twisty perfect! They definitely understood each other better than anyone else. I needed to know what was going to happen to them. The more I got to know them the more I was rooting for them. I was so happy that Cassian didn't give up on her. ❤☺

Amelia Wilde knocked it with this dark romance.

She had gripped from page one until END!

I yelled
I squirmed
I even shed a few tears for Justice.

From the beginning Justice had a will power all her own and she fought like hell! Fought in the beginning and fought in the End! But it was with Cass that she could be Justice. It’s twisted and dark, but it was just so wickedly delicious that I couldn’t help but to keep turning the page. Turning to see if Justice would break and turning to see if Lysander would dare to touch Justice only to keep turning and hoping beyond hope that Cass would show up like the avenging angel that he is and safe Justice from a fate worse than death even worse than what Cass has already done! But at the hands of his Brother.

I’m shook!
I’m so shook even after just finishing it because I want more!
I need more!

Disclaimer I received an arc copy for an honest and voluntary review.

I don't even know where to start with this book...
1. First and foremost, Amelia knocked this book so far out of the park you cant even believe.
2. Cassian, let's talk about the guy that you are going to hate and live with every page. At first you think he is this depraved man, who gets pleasure out of what he does. Just wait, he is a shocker.
3. Justice, she was so dang strong willed and never let them think she was going easy...until Cassian.
This book will suck you in, make you wish and want, flip your world upside down, and then pat you on the head and send you on your way. I had to take a breather because I couldn't believe it was over.

This was perfection and so intense and dark and very unique as we follow Cassian who owns a very different business of punishment and Justice who is a mystery and together they evolve into something so intense and beautiful with out knowing its happening right in front of them to their very soul. Its dark and delicious from the very first page with a whole lot of twists and turns, lies and truths and punishments for your sins. I could not put it down the characters are so well developed you will love them hard.

"Cards of Love: Justice" by Amelia Wilde was a thrilling romantic escapade that had me hooked from beginning to end. As someone who enjoys a good love story, Wilde's narrative pulled me into a world where passion and justice collide in the most captivating ways.

The characters were not just interesting but downright magnetic, and the chemistry between them was palpable. Wilde's storytelling painted vivid scenes that made the romance feel authentic and relatable, creating an immersive reading experience.

What set "Cards of Love: Justice" apart was its exploration of love and morality. It wasn't just about the romance; it delved into themes of right and wrong, duty, and the consequences of choices. This added depth to the characters and gave the story an extra layer of intrigue.

The pacing was spot-on, with Wilde keeping me on my toes as I eagerly flipped through the pages to uncover the twists and turns. The resolution was satisfying, neatly tying up the various storylines in a way that felt true to the characters.

In summary, my time with "Cards of Love: Justice" was a delightful journey into a world of passion and moral complexity. Amelia Wilde's storytelling and well-developed characters make this book a great pick for romance enthusiasts. Whether you're looking for a steamy love story or a narrative that explores the complexities of relationships, this book delivers a satisfying and memorable experience for a broad audience.

Wow!! Holy freaking s**t! This is a plus five stars read! It is not like the romance books that Amelia usually writes, and that was what made it so fantastic. The story of Cassian Locke and Justice Danes is dark, delicious, torturous, beautiful and steamy. Cassian doles out punishments for wealthy families, and does it with no feelings. Justice is his newest contract, however, she is unsure why she is here. She thinks she has been kidnapped, but is told she hasn’t been. When Cassian meets Justice, he is floored by her tenacity and the fire that she has in her. He is looking forward to doling out his punishments with her. Amelia has written such a great story that will give you feels. You feel for Justice as she continues to wonder why she is here. I have been waiting for this story, and it was definitely worth the wait. It is a do not miss for 2019. These two are definitely a force to be reckoned with. Justice has awaken something in Cassian he never thought a woman would do. He starts to care for her, and that can be bad for business. Even though Justice understands why Cassian does what he does, it still hurts. This is a dark and twisted story with betrayal from both sides and two souls who have been fighting their pasts. I couldn’t believe the story was over. I want more of these two. The beginning of this book will suck you in and keep you hooked. I felt like I was right there in the book, it was so well written. You will not want to put this down once started. I highly recommend getting this book. You won’t regret it.

Wow, where do I begin? Justice and Cassian were a force to be reckoned with and I loved their story, as unconventional as it was. Cassian and his brother Lysander are in the business of fulfilling contracts of a certain kind and when Justice is brought to Cassian, he's taken a back by her spunk, tenacity and the fight she has in her and he's got something in mind for her to bring her in line. Justice has had a good life, realizing what kind of business her family is in has made her rethink a few things and all she wants is out, but now her time is up someone had other plans for her and now she's in Cassian's hands. I loved this book, I've been waiting patiently for it and it was so worth the wait. Amelia gives you all the feels, you feel for Justice trying to understand what's happening and the conclusion she comes to. Justice is like no one he's encountered before, she's sparked something inside Cassian that he never thought he would ever feel, and he can't have these kind of feelings in his line of work. Their story is tumultuous, dark, deep, betrayal, and an emotional struggle for both of them, and what starts out as a contract turns into something so much more, but there's that inkling at the back of my neck that there is more in store for these two that there is something lurking around the corner ready to jump out and ruin it all. I could be wrong, but I hope I'm not!! Highly recommend this book.

What a read that kept me flipping the pages from one to the next, never knowing what to expect. Cassian is in the business of breaking women through BDSM, but they all come through his doors because of a contract and when Justice comes through the doors, he knows right away, she is different. Justice wants to escape her life and family and finally has a plan, only to be kidnapped and taken to Cassian. She fights hard but as soon as Cassian steps through the doors, she knows he wields a power and force that is to be reckoned with. Both are stunned at the turn of events through her punishment and neither can get a hold of their emotions, not only that but what happens when Cassian finds out the real reason she is there and will he return her when he is done.
An intense read at times with an emotional roller coaster of a ride for these two, with BDSM and steamy scenes. I didn’t know what was going to happen until the end, keeping me on the edge of my seat. I loved Justice’s strength and how she kept fighting right to the end against her family. Cassian was an intense man who kept his emotions bottled up, but once he let go...watch out. There were a couple of questions that were left unanswered, what happened to her sister and where do they end up but even with those unanswered, I couldn’t give it less than 5 stars.

ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME...DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SKIP IT

I am speechless...truly no words. What the freak did I read. This book was so silly that I truly am dumbfounded. Nothing made sense it’s like reading a novel with gapping holes that are in every other paragraph and you have to figure out what it should read without any clue from the information...who is the Family, Hades, what did Cassine do that caused him so much grieve...or his dad, what happened with the fatal contract dad messed up with...why mentioned KLM associates or Inc., why give us these random tidbits and never close the loops. I was so confused thinking I missed something cause the writing was all over the place, just HORRENDOUS! The only thing that stayed in focus was Justice so called punishments for something that is still completely mysterious. The brother is ridiculous silly...again instead of whooping that azz Cash allows him to run all over him. Really one of the most asinine books that I had the unfortunate displeasure reading.

This was free and I’m truly upset that I wasted a second of my precious time reading this book. Ms. Wilde do yourself a favor and stop publishing this unworthy piece of garbage, remove your name or hopefully pen name associated with it. This is a COMPLETE EMBARRASSMENT, I’m absolutely sure you’re better than this epic fail.

I don't even know if I know how to express how much I loved this book. It is dark. Very, very dark. I would put it with some of Zoe Blake's stories. I floved every single word.

We start the book thinking maybe Justice is just a socialite who wants to run away from her controlling family with her boyfriend. But then she's snatched from her meeting place with him and brought to Cassian. It's his job to 'punish' the wayward. He's a behind the scenes player in the world of the rich and powerful. He is dispassionate and disciplined. At least before Justice is brought to his world. From the moment he sees her, she is more to him than just a contract. It's his job to break her. But will she break him?

Justice is strong willed, masochistic, obedient, seeking something. Cassien is unyielding until he comes against the one woman who breaks thru his walls. They both fill some part of the other. Two halves creating a whole. Changing both their futures.

I want to dive into more of this world we've been given a glimpse of. I received an advance copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

It was an absolute pleasure to read this is a marvelous, mesmerizing dark romance. The story-line & plot is well-thought out and written with some unusual unexpected events. The characters are quite well-developed with individual personalities & display determination with some deviousness to achieve their goals & display realistic emotional feeling.
There is: a strong-willed woman trying to escape her life & family (Justice Danes), a male arbiter & Dom (Cassian Locke), his devious brother (Lysander), intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, mystery, abduction, resistance, spanking, sibling disagreements, family issues, bondage, punishment, emotional turmoil, fury, defiance, shame, investigation, desire, questions, terror, betrayal, rage, apologizing, rejection, released, conflicting emotions feelings, physical conflict, discovery, happiness, contentment, some steam & a satisfying epilogue.
I enjoyed reading this dark romance and would recommend it to people who like to read this genre.

It has taken me two days to sit down and write a review worthy of this book. I’ve been in a book hangover different from most. This one is different than Amelia’s typical works and I can’t get enough. While usually dark romances leave me feeling in need of a Disney movie proverbial shower, this one left me actually intrigued and dying for more without the need for a breathe of fresh air.

She wove such a tale that you can’t help but be drawn deeper into the world of the the elite. Cassian...how to explain a man like that. Dark secrets, darker skills, and one intense alpha man who is always in control. Enter Justice, trying to break free of a world she is chained to, she is delivered into Cassian’s very talented hands. The intensity between the capture and his captive, is something you can turn away from.

I can’t wait to see what else Amelia will bring us with this new side to her writing. Be sure you don’t miss out on this tantalizing addition to the Cards of Love series.
