The devil never takes a holiday. But he’s about to make one hell of an exception.

Gemma
I did what the Titans asked—used my gods-gifted ability to rip magical power away from Prometheus. My reward? A forced 300-year nap sealed a damp, dank catacomb, dreaming of my failures. Nice, huh?

Now Prometheus is back and, inexplicably, so are his powers. He’s awakened me to run an errand of revenge against Lucifer, Poseidon, and Zeus. I’m starting at the bottom, because I need Lucifer to get to the others. Plus, I’ve got a score to settle with the lover who never came looking for me.

Lucifer
Someone went to a lot of trouble to keep me and Dani apart, and cover their tracks under a powerful memory-altering spell. When I find out who it is, there won’t be enough left of them to fill an ash tray.

But my first priority is to figure out what strange magic is penetrating and disrupting the deepest circles of Hell—and how it’s connected to the fact that my brave, indestructible, gods-touched lover is dying. If I can’t win this race against time, I’ll never even get the chance to convince her I never stopped loving her.

Gemma woke up and tried to sit up too quickly as the room tilted. A familiar voice suggested she lie back down. Her last memory was of the Titans casting a spell to lock her away in the bottom of the catacombs for eternity. Prometheus told her it had been almost 300 years now. She figured he was here to kill her after the Titans had forced her to strip his powers. But he actually had a mission for her! He wanted her to take Lucifer, Zeus, and Poseidon’s powers and put them in a locket. He threw her around a bit to demonstrate his power over her and the fact she had no choice about this task. Then she stepped through the Portal to Hell.

She and Lucifer had secretly been lovers and were supposed to meet the night she was put under the spell. They had told him she sent a letter saying she moved on, so he never looked for her in all the years she slept in the catacombs. When she came to see him now, the guard had broken her wrist, which should not have happened. Lucifer sent for the witch Evanora who healed the wrist and then told him why it had happened – Gemma was dying! Lucifer locked her in the room and she hadn’t seen him since. He had a plan but ignored her “task” as unimportant when she tried to tell him of it. Would she die soon now? Would Prometheus hasten that death when she didn’t return with the powers of the three men contained in the locket? This was definitely not the vacation she and Lucifer had planned way back before the Titans cast their spell on her!

The story moves along quickly with a touch of “gallows humor” where the reader is not sure whether to laugh or cry. The thing that Gemma can’t forget is that Lucifer never came looking for her. The focus turns to Lucifer as the story speeds up, because now he must figure out what strange magic is disrupting the deepest circles of Hell — and how it’s connected to the fact that his feisty lover is dying! Because if he can’t solve this mystery in time, he will never get the chance to convince her that he never stopped loving her.

I'm not sure if it's because I haven't read the other books in the series, but I had a bit of trouble connecting with this story. There seemed to be a lot of plot points trying to interweave, but I'm not sure I was really getting all of them.

I did like Gemma, she wasn't a push-over. I did think she was a bit too stubborn at times. I understood her being hurt that she had been trapped in the catacombs for so long, but Lucifer wasn't actually to blame (and she didn't question it either), so I thought her attitude towards Lucifer was a bit too harsh at times. I think Lucifer was protective (of his daughters and of Gemma), but he didn't try to cage Gemma. He wanted to keep her happy. I think ultimately they were a good match.

Yikes!! What would you do upon awakening after being magically trapped in a tomb for 300 years? Gemma is rudely awakened by a Greek God demanding she get something for her. Next stop is the love of her life Lucifer. Though he broke her heart as he never came looking for her and left her trapped all this time. She'd soon learn everything isn't quite as she'd been led to believe. Apparently everyone she considered dear friends, and her love all believed she'd left of her own accord. What actually happened all those years ago, and why does nobody recall things the same way? Something evil is going on, but who is behind it all? Can Gemma learn these things? I've truly come to enjoy Lucifer in this series, and this doesn't disappoint. Snarky comments, betrayal, mystery, magic, and a cool pandacorn thrown into the mix make for an entertaining read!

I’m loving this series and this is book 3 in the Siblings of the Underworld. Gemma had been put to sleep in the catacombs for 300 years for taking away Prometheus’s powers but now he’s back with his powers and he is forcing Gemma to do a mission for him and that’s to take Lucifer’s, Poseidon’s and Zeus’s powers but Gemma is determined to find out why her lover Lucifer didn’t come looking for her. I’m not going to get too much into this story so read the blurb and that will give you the gist to this story. I loved this story it’s a fantastic read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Gemma?

Gemma has been trapped for 300 years. Nobody looked for her. The Titan that released her, gives her orders to steal the powers of Lucifer, Zeus and Poseidon, then threatens her and Fate it she doesn't hurry and by the end he thinks she wants to rule the godly realm with him. The three gods all have different memories of when Gemma was locked up. What's going on?

Gemma

Lucifer's fated mate, she's been sleeping for almost 300 years. And no one looked for her ? Supposedly she had messaged all her friends that she was taking a break, and no one thought anything about it...... Lucifer vows to kill whoever did it.

Exiled Demigod

This was very exciting and I can't wait for the next story. Lucifer and his kids are fun to read about. I know Daisy's story will be just as exciting. Pandora's pregnancy is definitely exciting and a plus. Wonder how powerful her babies will be.

Loved it.

My heart was just breaking for Gemma in this book and what had happened in the past with Lucifer and her so called friends. I did love the dual POV’s that this one had.
