It Takes Grit by Rebecca Louise is much more than I expected! It has three parts and focuses first on motivation with tips and stories about getting mentally ready for a healthier lifestyle, next in nutrition and finally exercise! I was impressed that she included a grocery list to accompany the recipes and meal plan.

I have read this every January for the last 3 years to start my year. Love it. I have notes in the margin every year. I might try a different self help book next year but probably not. Great way to reset.

I won this book from goodreads! Such a great book! I didn’t think it was a normal motivational book, but one that did show some grit with where Rebecca Louise started to where she ended up. I like how i feel like we aren’t that different (except she is british and i’m american). I enjoyed the step by step 30 day challenge, the advice to write everything down so you can see where you start and where you end up, and the recipes! Even if it’s more of a mental level up than a physical level up, I highly recommend this book to women and men alike!

I really enjoyed this book. It's like a small guide to a better and healthy body and mindset. The way the book is written is very simplistic, but it brakes down the steps that you need to take in order to achieve your goal.

Despite the author's rich life experience, this book was disappointingly shallow. Her advice felt generic and superficial.

This book seems to offer pretty straight-forward advice, however it’s seemingly generic and often not possible. A lot of people who are overwhelmed and have a history of anxiety and chronic stress cannot just simply “will” themselves to be motivated or look at the positive. Many people cannot just simply “believe in themselves more” or “look at the bright side” without first retraining their brain to be able to do so, which requires upfront and professional work. It’s not as simple as just getting it because it would make life easier. Books like this bother me because they leave out that raw human element and assume we’re all capable, when capable is less of a physical thing and more of a thing of the mind.

Truly garbage. This book is full of nothing but meaningless platitudes. Louise spends the entire book trying to convince you she was poor/low income but also wants to be sure you know she bought a 1-way ticket from England to Las Angeles, the most expensive city in the US, and rented her own apartment. Nothing in this book is genuine or helpful.

This was a great book! Rebecca Louise talked about mindset, motivation, nutrition and fitness. She also included a 30-day journey with weekly grocery lists, meal plans, daily tasks and daily exercises you can follow along with in her videos. So good!
