The only man she loves is the one she can’t have.

Taylor has lived with threats and blackmail her entire life. Either she behaves like the perfect, dutiful daughter, or gives up her most desperate wish. With her father’s election on the horizon, the pressure is on to appear as the all-American family, including her marrying the son of the next president. Her final month of freedom could be her last chance of happiness.

Wasp has worked hard, building his name as a photographer, but he’s never forgotten the woman who first stole his heart. At a red-carpet photo shoot, his heart races when he sees Taylor. No way does he expect her to be naked in his room within the hour.

One hot kiss leads to an indecent proposal and a cross-European bucket list tour. But Wasp is no longer the boy Taylor once knew. The clock might be ticking, but her hot Scot has his own plans. Even if he has to choose between love and his career.

The heat between them is enough to set the world alight, or burn everything they care about.

I’m going to be honest here...I had mixed feelings about this book and it’s heroine. Taylor did something not so nice in one of the earlier books and I wasn’t sure she was going to be a worthy enough love interest for my darling Wasp, but I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt...and I’m SO glad I did because she completely redeemed herself. She actually ended up being one of my favourite women from the whole series.

I had been dying to get to Williams book, and boy, did he grow up good. He was strong and dominant but with such a sweet side, and I loved him so much. These books by Jolie Vines keep getting better and better, and I’ll be so sad when they finally come to an end.

so WOW! Can we talk Wasp? Introvert. Sexy. SWEET. Naughty and secretly dominant? OMG! I am IN LOVE! Like for real. This might sound like a pre-teen tweet, but it's simply because Jolie Vines has a way of making me swoon and get all giddy like a high school girl. I LOVED this story. From the moment Taylor and Wasp got together in the 3rd book (?) I've been chopping at the bit for the twins stories. I just knew they'd be amazing. You have to read this series. It's so flipping, bloody, amazingly, GOOD!
The countries. The angst. The drama of her father and her 'role' that she must fill. The lengths Wasp is willing to go to for his woman. No spoilers. Just read it!

I have loved these quirky little romance stories set in Scotland. The McRae men are Scottish hunks. They are not rich but keep the family lands and castles going the best they can on limited funds. The patriarch is 30-yr old Callum and his wife, who has started a business that keeps them all afloat. These four men are hard working and dedicated to their heritage. We met the older brothers in the first three books. This story is about William, aka, Wasp. He is a twin to Alasdair, aka, Ally. Wasp is 22-yrs old now and every bit as handsome as his 3 brothers. The heroine in this book is Irene Taylor Vandenberg who at one time was a school roommate of his sister-in-law. You really should start with book 1 as all the characters intertwine. However, this truly can be read as a standalone as this author is just that good.

Wasp is fulfilling his dream of becoming a photographer. He is on special assignment with a mentor at a museum in NYC. The affair is to announce the engagement of the Presidential candidate’s son and his running mate’s daughter. Politics in very complicated. When Wasp finds out who he will be photographing, he panics. He met Irene five years ago and they had a fling for a while. He knows her as Taylor. In the meantime, Wasp makes friends with the band playing at the affair and his career follows a whole new path.

I don’t want to give spoilers so suffice it to say that Wasp makes Taylor take a whole new look at the life she has been living. She finally defies her Dad and runs off with Wasp. Sparks fly, tempers flare, but love wins in the long run. Fast paced drama with both families that I guarantee you will love. By the end of this series I’ll have my Scottish accent down. Afterall, there is still one brother left to fall in love.

I was a bit hesitant about this book, not because of it being William "Wasp" McRae but because of Taylor who we met in a previous book and came across as a bit of a spoilt American bitch.

Thankfully in this book we get to meet the real Taylor and realise we'd got her all wrong. You can tell straight away that Wasp is definitely one of "the" McRae's, a gorgeous, hardworking and altogether yummy Scot but he's also got an unexpected softer side that shows through so well that you just want to hug and protect him from the big bad world around. Taylor and Wasp have a few hurdles to cross that involve her manipulative dad but thankfully she grows a spine and becomes someone who deserves one of our lovely McRae's. Definitely a good book in the series, can't wait for the next one to find out how Ally deals with the "what?" ending of this book though.

I've read every story Jolie Vines, I like the way she tells a story and the finished product is of a high standard. Nothing annoys me more than a good story being wrecked by poor editing, but this is never a problem with a Jolie Vines.
Now into Wasp and Taylor's story. From the start I've loved the twins and their antics and they've grown into good men as you would expect with their older brother guiding them. Wasp was the perfect person for Taylor after the life she had led. This story drew me in right from the start, had me laughing and shedding a tear.

Wasp grew up to be everything I hoped for as a reader of this series. I do think this is best when read in series order so you are introduced to the family but it could be read as standalone as well.

I am obsessed with Jolie Vines writing and this cast of Scotsman she has created. 🤩

What does it mean to know love? Even more, what does it mean to love and be loved unconditionally? These are the questions of Jolie Vines’s newest book, Picture This, the fourth book in the Marry the Scot series. In this book, we are re-introduced to the McRaes, Scottish Highlanders who fall deeply in love with the women who hold their interest.

This story follows William or “Wasp,” one of the twins who are the youngest of the McRaes. In an earlier book, namely the second book in the series, Love Most, Say Least, William is a teen, one wanting to follow in his brothers’ footsteps. He loses his virginity to Taylor, his “adopted” brother James’s sister’s friend. At that moment, this is everything to him. Fast forward several years to this book, and William runs across Taylor again at a gala where he rushes to protect her from a potential tragedy. As in the past, sparks fly, and he realizes that he has never moved past his time with Taylor; she has indelibly marked him forever.

Conversely, Taylor is stuck. She is trying to ensure the care of her sick aunt, and the only way to do so means making a “deal with the devil,” her father. In her family, she has only been seen as a pawn, something to deal and manipulate for her father’s political gain. Taylor struggles to truly know herself except she has always felt most true to herself in William’s arms. Before sacrificing herself for her father’s gain, she decides to connect with William again. She travels to Scotland where she decides to accompany William as he photographs a music tour through Europe and the U.S. As they journey, Taylor begins to understand the truth about love through William’s love for her. Their relationship grows, and Taylor must decide if she can live a life with William or sacrifice it to protect her aunt.

As I’ve mentioned in prior reviews on Vines’s books, she knows how to write the swooniest of heroes. She easily combines an alpha personality with the most tenderest of hearts. William is no different. I’ve loved Callum, James, and Gordain in this series, along with Arnie in her book, Race You. If you look back at each of my reviews for those books, you’ll notice me waxing poetic at the way she marries these two qualities into her heroes. Well, William is the epitome of this. He is definitely my new favorite Vines hero. He isn’t stubborn like Callum, too serious like James, and reticent like Gordain. This man knows what he wants early on, and he makes it his mission to pour love into Taylor. He is alpha where it matters: the bedroom. However, he doesn’t take the persona into the real world. He recognizes that Taylor simply needs to be loved in order to bloom. He’s tender and thoughtful, qualities she desperately needs. Vines constructs him to be the true soulmate for Taylor, and you never doubt their connection.

I also loved that Vines gives the perfect William a weakness: introversion. And his introversion is significant. It manifests itself, not only emotionally, but also physically. He sees this as a problem, but Vines uses it to humanize him, or he would be too much, too perfect, something impossible in the world. I connected with William’s introversion as I too am introverted and need space from people, even though I don’t manifest physical symptoms. The power of great authors is helping their readers connect with their characters.

While I love William (really, really love him), honestly Taylor held my heart. I mourned for her past when it’s revealed that her aunt is the only person who has shown her unconditional love. Her parents don’t “see” her, and they don’t love her in the way she needs love. Given this past, she cannot even recognize falling in love. Until William. When she begins to realize her love for him, she becomes like him, offering him tenderness and thoughtfulness. She cares for him and accepts his issues with introversion. Like William sees Taylor, Taylor also “sees” the true William. Again, these two are true soulmates, a sense that Vines crafts so well.

There is a little bit of angst in this book, but it is always so mild. It is meant to keep the reader engaged in the story, but not to shut them down. Vines carefully creates a story of love that piques your interest, carries you through Taylor and William’s turmoil, and delivers you to their happily-ever-after at the end. With that, she brilliantly incorporates her past characters from the series, so it feels like you’re returning to a beloved place. She offers us little updates of Callum/Mathilda, James/Beth, Gordain/Ella, and Ally. I think that’s one of the things I love about the series, especially this one.

And finally, she leaves you with a whopper of a cliffhanger, leading into Ally’s book. I did NOT see it coming, setting up the next book which she’s projecting for September, thank goodness.

I absolutely love a Jolie Vines’s book; Picture This is no different. She has her own voice, and her heroes are distinct. I think that’s one of my favorite parts of reading: reading and recognizing an author’s specific style. And Vines’s voice is very distinct. As questioned at the beginning of the review, what does it mean to love and be loved? Well, this reader loves Jolie Vines’s books, and I don’t foresee that love diminishing any time soon.

So, so lovely

I don’t have enough words to describe how lovely these books are. I’ve already gushed about the first three books, and Wasp and Taylor have proven to be just as captivating. These stories make me happy. They fill me with joy. I cannot get enough of these people and this writing. So good!

Solid writing, too much steam

As always, Jolie Vines’ writing is great in this book, it’s just really not my kind of love story. Picture This follows Wasp/William and Taylor, two people who always seem to fall into bed when they run into each other. They burn hot and have a physical relationship only, so when Wasp runs into Taylor after a few years apart, he isn’t surprised that the fire is still there. He is, however, shocked by the news that she is set to be engaged. When they find themselves alone, Taylor reveals that it’s an arranged marriage and she wants to take advantage of her last weeks of freedom... by spending as much of that time in bed with Wasp as she can. But once they start spending time together outside of the bedroom, their feelings for each other grow and things get complicated.

It’s a solid book that unfortunately touches on too many of my personal “ick” plots for me to love it. I’m not a huge fan of our couple having sex without feelings for an extended period of time, I’m not a fan of a man who orders around the heroine in bed, and the fact that they’re sleeping together as much as possible before her engagement happens is a total turnoff. That being said, I liked Wasp and there are plenty of tender moments between the two. Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I didn’t personally love the book, but there were plenty of things about it I liked.

God, I so needed to be back to the Scots 🤩 This family is so incredible.

Wasp and Taylor are just so perfect and cute 🩷
Taylor had her big entrance in book 2 because she is the one James should marry. She also is Ella's best friend (book 3). Yes, all very tricky, but that isn't new in this series 😎
Taylor never had an easy life. Her father is a HUGE 🍑🕳️ 🤬🤬 A politician, liar, and blackmailer!

As I said, this family is so incredible and special. The love between Wesp and his twin brother Ally made me cry a lot 🥺 They support each other regardless of any consequences. They couldn't be more different from each other. Wesp is super introvert. Ally is an extrovert.
But at least Taylor is an introvert too. But her problem is that she thinks she can't love and isn't loveable either. God, this girl is really so crazy. Why doesn't she see how much she already loved? That's the reason her father can blackmail her into a marriage 😖
One thing is for sure, love is stronger than everything 🩷

And now I'm so excited to read Ally's books. I was waiting so long for it 😎

I really recommend reading the whole series in the right order, I didn't because I had a few 🆓🐝 and it spoiled a few things because I read the book of Wesp and Taylor's son already 🙈 But still it's cute to read their story 🩷

This book was super emotional and I loved 🥰 everything.

Jolie is one of my favorite authors who is keeping me locked on a book when I start.

I read it in 6 hours, and was captured by the bantering, the drama, the emotional rollercoaster and the way the characters evolve.

You learn about those two in the book of their friend...
and now years later you learn more and see how the story ends or just starts 🙌🏻💕

Well done

Another 5 Star Read

The tale of William and Taylor and what a tale it was! A little more angsty, it’s a well told story that will keep you flipping those pages. I love that in each book the rest of the clan makes a well placed appearance, and just adds to the story. I’m totally hooked on these books and I’m just going to say yowza, what an ending!
I absolutely recommend this series. Now onto Ally’s book!

William and Taylor

Such a great thrill to go into a book like this and have no idea how a couple could possibly work out their troubles and be together. I loved the surprised and the twists in Wasp and Taylor's story. Taylor wins the prize for Best Journey to Redemption and Wasp wins for Biggest Heart.

Gotta read the next one ASAP!

A steamy romance page-turner!

Each story seamlessly ties into the next! Jolie Vines even hints at the upcoming storyline in the middle of the book (promptly causing the reader to confirm suspicions and 1-click the next book).

Wasp is adorable and easy to love throughout. Taylor sets the story up for heartbreak many times, but it ends with a spectacular HEA.

Picture This (Marry the Scot #4) by Jolie Vines is a contemporary, second chance romance told in first person, dual POV. It's the fourth book in the Marry the Scot series and can be read as a standalone. But I'd recommend starting at the beginning and reading them all because the series is fantastic and you'll get to know all the characters as they continue to appear throughout the series.

When William, aka "Wasp", runs into Taylor at a gala while photographing the event, he's stunned to learn that she will soon be engaged. Wasp lost his virginity to her five years ago, and on the rare occasions they'd see each other, they would always end up back in bed. It has been two years since William has seen Taylor, but he's always had feelings for her.

Taylor has always felt trapped in her life - completely under her father's control. As his political pawn, she's been subject to his manipulations and forced to participate in his schemes. His latest one being an arranged marriage to the son of the next president. When she sees William, the sparks between them are stronger than ever.

Wasp has been hired to photograph an up-and-coming band while they tour, and Taylor joins him on the road trip. They agree to enjoy each other as friends-with-benefits until it's time for Taylor's engagement to go public.

What will happen when feelings get involved? Will Taylor and William find a way to stay together? Will she be able to break free from her father's control? Or will Taylor get engaged and leave William broken-hearted?

I loved William and Taylor's story! It was emotional, sexy, romantic and fun. With loveable and relatably flawed characters, it's another great addition to the series. I'm excited to read Ally's story next - especially after that twisty little bomb at the end. Can't wait!

*** I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC. ***

Miles and miles of travel, a little bucket list, and a whole lot of Highlander!

I'll admit, when we first met Taylor, I wasn't her biggest fan. But now that we get the rest of the story, all I can say is that the author is brilliant, and knowing Taylor's less-than-perfect history only made her full story more compelling. For a few years, Taylor and Wasp carried on a convenient FWB relationship whenever their paths crossed, without any thoughts of the future. Now that Taylor's father is using her for a politically advantageous match, her life and choices come into sharp focus and she's ready to grab whatever she can out of life. Wasp is just starting his career in photography, which puts him in Taylor's path once again, if only to see her engaged to another man.

Everything seems wrong about their relationship, but it's also so very, very right. The beautiful writing breathes life into these characters, giving them such depth and emotional weight. Both have led charmed lives, although in very different ways and by different standards, and yet both find themselves facing a unique set of personal challenges that threaten their own happiness even without being an impediment to their relationship. You don't just read a book like this, you feel everything along the way on a very personal level.

And that sneak peek at Ally's upcoming story - Wow!! Way to start off a story with a bang!!

Each trip to the McRae's Scotland is such a treat for the heart. The whole familiar cast is on hand to show us once again that the meaning of life is family. I highly recommend this book, as well as the entire series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Man, I seriously CANNOT get enough of the Marry the Scot series, and since the moment I met Wasp as a younger man causing mayhem, I've been dying for he & his twin's story! Let me tell you, the amazing Jolie Vines didn't disappoint with his one bit. Picture This can be read as a standalone, but seriously, read the whole series in order as it's so much better. Anyway, Wasp is now 22 years old, and has grown into quite the young man. The woman who has his eye is Irene Taylor Vanderberg, who was at one point, his sister-in-law's roommate at school. She's the picture perfect daughter, as she lets her controlling father run her life, even as far as arranging her marriage in this day & age which always makes me yell colorful metaphors. The backstory is that she as Taylor, had a fling with Wasp, and now that his photography career is going off, he's going to be taking pictures of Irene as she's announcing her engagement to a Presidential candidate's son, as his running mate's daughter. So you already know that their story will be all kinds of complicated, especially when Wasp shows her that the life she's settling for isn't worth it. Next up will be some serious drama between the families, with Wasp's family making me laugh all over the place while their Scottish accent had me ready to melt. Obviously, there's going to be those twists that will have you dropping f-bombs like I was, so buckle up! Needless to say, if you want to know how it all pans out, you'll have to one click this sexy Scottish story that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This author was such a find! My second read of hers and I loved it!!

"A lass I hadn't seen in years. One who made me catch my breath at the memories alone."

Taylor Vandenberg is bound by duty, love and blackmail to marry a man she doesn't love. When she manages to negotiate one month's freedom, she travels across the ocean, where she plans to use it to the max.

"This man never failed to make me feel...everything."

William AKA Wasp McRae knows that Taylor is not his to love or to plan a future with. However, he let's himself be convinced, as well as convinces himself, that one last fling with her will get her out of his system for good.

I haven't read any of the previous books in this series but it didn't take anything away from the story. I absolutely fell in love with the introverted Wasp. I loved that Taylor brought out his alpha side and how passionate they were together. Taylor is made of stern stuff but she has a soft heart. In spite of her wealth, she was down to earth and actually touchingly unsure of herself, at times. I loved how well she understood Wasp, and I enjoyed the dynamic she had with his twin brother, Ally. I also really enjoyed the family loyalty that the McRaes had. I loved the bond between all the brothers. This story was hot, heartfelt, and totally absorbing!

I really love this writer's style and can't wait to read more of her books.

I loved this book! It was dramatic and exciting right from the very beginning. And steamy hot! Wow!
Picture This is well written and I like that it alternates between the point of view of the two main characters. One of the things I love about this book and the whole series is the depth of the characters. The characters are interesting, lovable and relatable. They show great strength and courage. Wasp and Taylor are so perfect for each other. They have so much fun together.

I like that while this is a stand alone book the characters from the previous books are all in the book and we can follow their continued lives. I love the interactions and relationships between the brothers and their families.

This book has it all. Strong interesting characters, a fun road trip, steamy hot scenes, sweet romance and sexy Scottish Highlanders.
The book has an incredible ending that leaves you excited for the next book in the series!

This is definitely my favourite in the series so far! I've loved the twins since the minute i read about them and I'm so happy to finally read Wasp's book. It was great to get into his head more and see his alpha side and getting more time with Ally and seeing their sibling dynamic.

Wasp and Taylor bounce off eachother and it was nice that in this book they didnt have to 'save eachother', their relationship just developed naturally and worked really well.

I was glad to finally find out Taylor's backstory and what has motivated her actions in the past and see her grow stronger and stand up to her dad and his horrid behaviour.

This book had a great adventure with their trip around Europe and in understanding eachother and allowing themselves to fall in love. Plus on top of that we got to see more of Ally!

Really good book, can't wait to read what's in store for Ally!

I recieved an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Wasp is probably the most reserved out of the brothers and I honestly thought mmm what could his story be and it was so much more than a story about two people who always ended up together when they were around each other but never fully took their relationship further. I loved seeing more of the twins together it showed just how close of a bond they have 😍 Taylor was a perfect addition to there little connection, the way they worked together when he shut down 🥰 ... her parents and childhood is just messed up I would never of thought she’d been trying to marry herself up for the reason she was, I thought she was maybe just a spoilt brat and it was for the money but damnnnnnn. These were definitely meant to be! ⁣

Jolie Vines is such a gifted writer! I truly enjoy her books about this unlikely group of Scottish highlander heroes! Wasp and Taylor met several years ago and have incredible chemistry.

Taylor’s dad has big plans for himself that require an arranged marriage for Taylor. Taylor is willing to defy her father’s demands and follow her heart. Wasp is a man of integrity, willing to go to extreme measures to help Taylor and his twin Ally. Will Taylor and Wasp find a way to be together? What will they have to sacrifice?

You will not be disappointed in this book. I always feel like I’m right there with these characters. The setting is beautiful; and, it’s great catching up with the characters from the previous books!
