The first half of this book is *very* technical and kind of a slog for me to get through, describing the different kind of thoughts, proving that sin can be found in ones thoughts, and showing that all of humanity suffers from this.

The second half is sweet nectar to the soul. It talks about fighting bad thoughts and building up holy thoughts.

If you struggle with sinful thoughts, I recommend picking this up to read. It's short enough to read in a couple of days

This is a book I would recommend to everyone. It may be hard to read because of how scholarly Charnock is, but if you spend the time to read this, it will be edifying to the soul.

He talks about the depravity of our hearts and thoughts in the first half. Then moves to how in Christ we can focus on things that are above and not on earth, and to take every thought captive unto the obedience of Christ.
