The Billionaire Book Club Questionnaire

#1: Who is your least favorite character in the book?
Me—Caplin Hawkins. I am an absolute idiot.

#2: Who is your favorite character?
Gorgeous, addictive, insanely challenging Ruby.
She’s smart, driven, self-confident, and so beautiful, she makes my chest ache.

#3 What is your biggest takeaway from the story?
Ruby Rockford and I are meant to be.
I just have to prove it to her.

For the entirety of my adult life, I’ve been content.
Content in my single lifestyle, content in my stressful-but-extremely-successful job as the main corporate counsel for almost every Fortune 500 company in North America, and content in my playful, spontaneous ways.

I had no idea it was possible for someone to change my mind.

The endless women and work are no longer enough, and just as Ruby Rockford told me—it’s about time I grow up.

It’s going to take a strategic attack from more than a couple brilliant minds to win her affection, but luckily, I know exactly where to find the right guys for the job…
The Billionaire Book Club.

It’s safe to say that I, Caplin Hawkins, the man most women would call The Ultimate Player, have finally met my match, and man oh man, has my end game changed.

I’m coming for you, Ruby.
And soon, you’ll be coming for me, too.

This is one of those books that I knew from the first chapter it's was going to turn my stomach and make me cry (with laughter, yes?) and luckily, I wasn't wrong! 🎉
Max Monroe did it again with a fun crazy Rom-Com!!! 💕

📚 “𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝒅𝒂𝒚, 𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒍𝒖𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒔, 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒄𝒍𝒖𝒃 𝒊𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒂 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒂 𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒍𝒖𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒓𝒐𝒎-𝒄𝒐𝒎.” 📚

Caplin Hawkins (Cap) is a wealthy, successful and famous corporate lawyer. He loves his life - although he lives a lonely one because of his stressful work, he has no complaints. Until one day Ruby enters his life and changes everything! 💥😍

Ruby Rockford's life isn't easy. While she's smart and driven, she works hard to finish her law school... until a hot-as-sin guy comes into her life - and she knows she's in big trouble! 🔥

Although the chemistry between them is instant – Cap is an eternal bachelor and the biggest player in New York. How can she trust him? 😬
But Cap doesn't give up… In fact, he pulls out the big guns! 💣💥

📚 “𝑰 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖, 𝑹𝒖𝒃𝒚. 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒇, 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕, 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒔𝒆𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒎𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒃𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒎𝒆?” 📚

And so, Cap enlists the help of his best Billionaire friends and turns their weekly poker night into a "Billionaire Book Club" where they all help him learn the secrets of how to court women so he can score Ruby... 📖
So you tell me… How much longer can she resist THAT?! 😂😂😂

📚 "𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝑩𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝑪𝒍𝒖𝒃. 𝑨𝒏 𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒊𝒕𝒔 𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒆—𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒕—𝒑𝒖𝒓𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒚 𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒌 𝒘𝒆𝒕.
𝑭𝒖𝒄𝒌 𝒎𝒆." 📚

OMG! That book... it was freaking awesome! 🎉👑👏
It had exciting moments, awkward moments and most important - moments that made my stomach hurt from laughter!!!!! 😂
Now that I think about it, I can totally imagine their story being made into an hilarious TV show (Who should I talk about it at Netflix?) 🤔

📚 “𝑾𝒆’𝒓𝒆 𝒈𝒖𝒚𝒔. 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒚’𝒓𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏. 𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒔 𝒅𝒐 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒚. 𝑰𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒈𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌 𝒖𝒑. 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆, 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒚 𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒂𝒔 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒏 𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒅𝒂𝒚.” 📚

This book can be read as a standalone, but it's part of the Billionaire series. I didn't read them all, but this book made me want to dive right in!!! 👑
So if you want to fall in love and laugh your ass out... this is the book for you! ❤

“If the Captain gets the ruby back, what does he intend to do with it?”
“Treasure it. Forever.”

Characters
Caplin (aka Cap) (31, corporate lawyer, owns his own firm):
Cap is a happy guy with a close group of guy friends (recurring characters from other books). He is a very successful lawyer, charismatic, has a ton of money and loves women. He is definitely not looking for “The One” (like some of his friends who have already settled down).

First impression of Hero:
Cap’s got some definite swagger and comes off as fun and confident.....not necessarily cocky and arrogant (although he has that in spades too). I like him. There’s no way I could resist this yummy man...😊
“I’m so goddamn charming, they’re thinking of replacing that leprechaun on the cereal box with me.”
😂 Caplin Hawkins is definitely “magically delicious”!👍😋

Ruby (28, law student and book narrator):
Ruby is in her third year of law school. She works hard to juggle everything going on in her life. She has a couple close friends, but doesn’t really go out and is pretty much a no-nonsense, hard-working girl. “Fun” isn’t in her vocabulary right now.
“according to everyone around me, the thing I need most is to let go and live.”

First impression of Heroine:
She made me laugh....
“I understand why some women—some very intelligent and wise women—prefer to remain single and, instead of trying to find happiness and companionship with a man, just adopt a dog.
Woof-motherflipping-woof.”

The Story:
Cap sees Ruby at the law library and sets out to pursue her. From Ruby’s perspective: “Caplin Hawkins is a woman-using, heartbreaking, philandering commitment-phobe of a man, and he isn’t ever going to change.” . Therefore, she isn’t falling for his charm. What’s it going to take to win her over and can she be “The One” to change his philandering ways??

My Thoughts:
The heroine warned me in the Prologue......
”You’re going to like Cap from the start. You’re going to think he’s charming and funny and sexy. He’s going to make you laugh and giggle and flutter your eyelashes, even if you’re generally not one of those eyelash-fluttering kinds of girls.
You’re going to find yourself enamored of him.
Hell, you probably won’t be able to resist him.”

And yup.....I loved him from the start ❤️❤️

”Girls fawn all over him, and the guys look ready to dive into an all-out bro-huddle. I don’t know where Caplin Hawkins gets his magnetism, but apparently, it doesn’t discriminate based on gender.”

This book had some funny moments. I would highly recommend reading some of the other books first because you won’t really be able to appreciate the secondary characters without some backstory.
“There’s a woman out there who’ll be his match.” Trent blathers the fuck on like he actually knows me better than I know myself. “Who’ll show him the way and fuck his shit up so bad, he’ll have to come to us for advice to get out of it. And goddamn, Quince, I can’t wait for it.”

The way these “boys” turned their Poker Night into a Romance Book Club Night to help our beloved hero....🤣🤣. God I love these guys❣️❣️💘
”Thatch sniffles, and Wes rolls his eyes. “This is really the shit women want to read?”
“Don’t you fluffing mock it!” Thatch yells, waving an angry finger. Kline puts a hand on his shoulder to comfort him. “I’m in my feels, and I won’t be belittled by your macho bullshit!”
. Oh Thatch 🥰😂

The audiobook mishap was hilarious. Raise your hand if you have ever accidentally unplugged the earbuds right at the critical "O" moment only to hear the juicy details being broadcast to everyone in the room. Me! 🙋. oopsie ☺️

Ruby’s parents also add some humor. They remind me of the parents from the Transformer movies. They just blurt out whatever and it’s soooooo embarrassing for their child. 😛 Anyone who has embarrassing parents will be able to relate. 😀
“Can I get you anything inside, Mr. Rockford?”
“Sure thing, kiddo,” my dad responds without shame or hesitation. “Some stool softeners and some Imodium.”
My head sinks into my hands, and I sink deeper into my seat. Oh my God, why are my parents so embarrassing?”

Of course Cap’s plan backfires and he makes a jerk move. But.....his tears (I love to see a grown man cry over his stupidity 😉😂) and his groveling tactic were EPIC.

Overall this is a quick and light read with just the right amount of humor that kept me turning the pages. These two are the perfect blend and I enjoyed their story.
“She gives me the grounding I need, and I’m just the kind of asshole she needs to make sure she remembers to have fun.”

- Do you need to read previous books in series?: in my opinion....yes
- POV: dual
- H likable? Yes ❤️
- h likable? Yes
- h virgin? No
- First time they kiss: 83%
- First time they sleep together: 85%
- OW/OM drama? No
- H/h cheat? No
- Steamy? So-so. They have good chemistry, but it’s a slow burn so not a lot of time between the sheets.
- Did I skip pages? No
- Big secrets? kind of. Cap wasn’t honest with his boys about his real motive. Of course, they see right through him lol
- Did I cry? No
- Cliffhanger? No
- How it ends: It has a HEA and an epilogue
- Recommend? Yes

Quotes
“He doesn’t comment, but boy oh boy, the strength of his smirk when I finally meet his eyes is comment enough. It would melt paint off walls, cement off sidewalks, and seven layers of panties off a woman.”

“Thatch has been trying to get a poker night going for our group for months, and now that it’s finally happening, I’m not even a little surprised he’s treating it like the first night of the Olympics.”

“Want to play naughty professor and frisky student?”
“Handsy mailman and flirty housewife?”
“Dirty cop and desperate criminal?”

“If I don’t learn enough to pass the bar, I’m going to find the nearest witch and put a penis hex on you.”

“Apologizing should be a man’s number one skill.”
“I would have thought it would be not fucking up in the first place.”

“What page is this Wu-Tang shit you’re talking about, Kline?”
He laughs. “Wooing. Not Wu-Tang.”

“I was basically the equivalent of one of those random, super-long chin hairs that just appears on your face seemingly overnight. You have no idea how long it’s been there, who has seen it, or how in the hell it grew so fast, but it’s your reality, and the only thing you can do is pluck that fucker.”

CAP IS HERE!!!!
Stop whatever you're doing and READ THIS BOOK!

It feels like we've waited decades for Cap to get his own book! ☺

He's the best thing since Thatch! PLUS Thatch is in here too - a lot!!! And Kline and Wes ...
#BestBookEver ☺

Ok - enough Capgirling.

The story.

We have Cap - a rich and famous corporate lawyer. He loves life. He loves his job. He loves women. But he's so far away from thinking about a happily ever after.

But then Ruby enters his life. In a rather pornographic way. No one is naked - and we're in a library at the time! But still verrry erotic and LOL!!!!

description

Ruby is struggling through life with a job she loves and finishing law school. And then this hot and cocky guy comes along and she just knows she'll fall for him. Biggest mistake of her life, right? He's New York's most famous manwhore-bachelor-player!!! But the heart wants what the heart wants. And it wants Cap. But he's not ready for love, right? No way Ho-say! 😂

description

I just adored this story!

It was so hilarious and adorable and it had lots of Thatch in it again. How can you not love such a book!?
(P.S. should you not know who Thatch is - you've obviously been asleep these last few years and need to hurry to amazon and get started with Max Monroe's first amazing Billionaire Bad Boy series: Tapping the Billionaire!)

I loved Cap and Ruby! They're perfect for each other!

I kind of see them as a married lawyer couple in an office in a little town in Upstate New York - two point five kids and a dog!
But it's a long way until we might get there!

Ruby will not let herself fall for his charms!

And anyway - Cap doesn't want anything serious! Yeah! Poor guy!

I adored the poker/book club meeting of our favorite boys! Hilarious!

This was such an adorable and hilarious Rom-Com!

I need to see this series on Netflix one day!

THE BILLIONAIRE BOOK CLUB was such an adorable & funny New-York-Lawyer Rom-Com! Hurry to your nearest amazon for your own Cap - he'll be sold out in no time!!!

Five funny stars for Ruby and Cap ❤!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Max Monroe again made me laugh through the whole book and I've really enjoyed reading it.

If somebody knows how to write an amazing rom-com which you couldn't able to put down until you finish it, then that are these two awesome authors.

From the first book, I've read from this series, I was amazed (maybe I had a crush 😅) with Cap.

I was a little sad when I found out that the second book wasn't his, but then one day in August Max Monroe announced that Cap's book is coming in September and I was so happy 😁!

"The Billionaire Book Club" is the book that will make your day no matter how bad it was and with Ruby and Cap you will one hundred percent enjoy reading it.

Ruby's and Cap's relationship is everything 💕!

I fell in love with them and they took my heart with them.

I don't complain 😉!

If you're looking for a rom-com with a lot of funny scenes and with one hot couple, then this is a book for you!

I can't wait for the new Max Monroe's book!

Highly recommended!!!

BAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! This book will have you laughing so much you will be crying! My favorite kind of humor is sarcastic humor and this book is filled with it.

I have read about Caplin Hawkins in the other books by this author duo and he was always funny in those books but dear lord he is my favorite out of all of them. He sounds sexy beyond words.

Ruby is perfect. Strong, witty, intelligent, sarcastic……I loved her character so much.

This unlikely pair were the perfect couple. Oh my goodness and “HELLary” instead of Hillary made me laugh out loud more than once when he would think it.

I don’t see how you could ever go wrong reading a Max Monroe book. These two, I feel, are writing books just for me! If you like a SEXY RomCom this book is absolutely for you.

I got what I expected...

****3.5 Stars****

When I start reading a Max Monroe story, I know I'm going to escape reality for a wee while, have a chuckle or two and meet an absolutely sexy and beautiful hero who happens to have a dollar or two...billion. The Billionaire Book Club was definitely an escape from reality. The characters are OTT, the storylines are extremely unlikely and the love story seems too good to be true.

BUT...I liked it.

I know that it's unlikely that an everyday woman is going to cross paths with a sexy billionaire. I accept that I'll give a hero more than one chance because...HE'S A HOT BILLIONAIRE! There's also a good chance I might squint (so I'm not really seeing it) at the totally inappropriate office behaviour. It's just that it would be kind of cool (besides the inappropriate office stuff) if a billionaire-hot-guy-hero fell for an everyday woman.

Saying all that, there was a wee bit of time that even I was a little bit put off by the HOT BILLIONAIRE! This guy is pretty gross in the beginning. He sees women as sexual objects and not much more. Mind you, the women we meet who have been with him previously, don't seem to mind.

I don't think Max Monroe shows sexually active women in a favourable light. You can be a sexy and confident woman who knows what she wants in the bedroom, without them coming across as crass or desperate.

Anyways, The Billionaire Book Club made me smile, sigh and squirm...just the way I like my rom-com's. Do I believe that Cap and Ruby were meant to be and are destined for a happy ever after? Well, I'm not sure how their last page will look, but, like every fairy tale...we can dream.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads.
========================
There are very funny scenes and I really liked the story.
Our hero is a womanizer who gradually becomes enchanted by our heroine and he takes time to surrender.
The dialogues between friends are hilarious and each one has advice to give. The dialogues between our heroes are also very good.
I recommend.

My time is my own, and my body, a free agent.

I nearly laugh, but my dick stirs in my pants before I get the chance. This. This is what I love about being a single guy with no obligations. Pussy calls, and I get to answer. It doesn’t matter that Yvette wasn’t on my radar five minutes ago. Now she is, and I’m free to do what I like.

But I’ve never been one to put all my eggs in one beautiful basket. I’m more of a connoisseur of all women than a committer to one woman.

I wave a hand at the bartender, Sally, a woman who knows both my drink order and my cock,

Females are, by and large, related to bloodhounds

“It’s a classic structure,” Milo says. “Owning up to your shit, explaining it, and then complimenting her in a way she can’t refuse.”

I somehow manage to leave Billionaire Book Club with something to consider. Always know how to apologize.

“What page is this Wu-Tang shit you’re talking about, Kline?” He laughs. “Wooing. Not Wu-Tang.” I shrug. “Whatever. What page?”

Has it really been that long? Like, over a month since I did anything besides flirt with a woman?

I’m not a one-woman kind of guy. No matter the woman. It’s just not in the cards for me. Then why does it feel like it could be with Ruby? Gah. No.

“I think maybe it’s time we part ways.”

It’s like all he did was use my literary preferences to get me into bed, and now that he got what he wanted, he’s fucking done with a capital D. God, I’m such a fool.

Shame on me for letting myself think he would.

The Billionaire Book Club is the third book in the Billionaire series. This is Caplin’s book. After seeing him in the previous two books in the series, I knew this was going to be outrageously funny, and it absolutely was! Cap sets his sights on audiobook narrator and law student, Ruby.
Ruby is such a great character. She is smart, driven and well rounded. Cap definitely shows a different side than previous books, but he’s still very much Cap.

Their first meet is hilarious! After their first meet, Cap really pursues Ruby. She tries to avoid him and resist his charm but he’s persistent. My only complaint would be the chemistry was missing for me, and things felt a little forced between Ruby and Cap. However, my favorite part of the book is the Billionaire Book Club, where all our favorite men from all previous Billionaire books, get together to help Cap woo Ruby. It was wonderful to see all of these people, and had me laughing so hard at this boy’s book club, discussing romance. Also, I’m definitely intrigued by Lena, Cap’s sister, and so excited we’ll get to read her story later this year.

Amazing!

I have been waiting for Caplin's book for so long and it was everything I thought it would be and more! I love that man and his obnoxious personality! I can't wait to read Lena's book next. Hopefully she ends up with Harrison but I guess we will just have to wait and see. I love Max and Monroe's writing style and the books are hilarious! 5 motherfluffing stars from me!

Men and book clubs...

They do something to me.

I absolutely fell in love with Cap and Ruby’s romance and the fact that the way they were introduced?? Perfection. Absolute perfection. And something about men and book clubs and starting it to become a better man for their heroine. Adorable 🥰 🥺

Completely and utterly fell in love with Cap. Also with a name like Caplin Hawkins? Hot. Absolutely hot.

Romance Rehab: Book recs, author services, general badassery: http://www.romancerehab.com/

It’s been a while since I hated a hero as much as I hated the hero in this book. He really outdid himself, though.

Plot overview: Douchebag manwhore Caplin stalks young, beautiful Libby. And instead of having him arrested, she falls for him. Because sure. Why not?

This makes me sad because I actually really like the author’s writing style. It’s fun and light and she has a way with witty banter. With a different hero, this one might’ve been a keeper for me. But sadly, because the book hinged on the odious Caplin, I couldn’t bring myself to finish.

Oh, Caplin. How I hate thee. Let me count the ways:

1. Self-proclaimed “playboys” who take pride in bedding different women all the time and actively avoiding anything resembling human emotion make me want to vomit.

2. Anyone who takes what he calls “pussy calls” (a “clever” revision of a “booty call”. And by “clever” I mean gag-worthy, of course) after he’s met the heroine is gross.

3. After he meets the heroine and fails to get her name and number, he stalks her. And I don’t mean he attempts to arrange a meet-cute by waiting around the last place he saw her and hoping to run into her. I mean he actively digs into her life and invades her privacy. There’s nothing adorable or charming about stalkers, I’m afraid.

4. When he finds her (after stalking her, of course), he makes a lewd sexual joke. When she rebuffs him, he offers her a job. Because, sure, who WOULDN’T want to work for a guy who stalked you and propositions you in the grossest way possible?

5. When he’s propositioning the heroine, he’s approached by one of his past fuck buddies, who is portrayed as nothing more than a vapid bed-warmer. To make it clear to the reader that the heroine “isn’t like other women because she’s so special?” Gag.

I actually really liked Ruby...right up until the point that she found herself laughing at Caplin’s lewd jokes instead of running in the opposite direction from the dude who openly stalked her and seemed super proud of it (he called himself an “opportunity maker.” I call him a restraining order waiting to happen.) All I could do at that point was side-eye her on behalf of every woman who has ever been stalked and harassed. Because we all know that if Caplin had been ugly and poor, this would’ve been an episode of Criminal Minds as opposed to a “hilarious rom com.”

So, long-story-short, I wanted to nut-punch the hero. I find that when I want to nut-punch the hero in a romance, that’s a problem that can’t be overcome by simply maning through and reading the rest of the book. So I DNFd like my life depended on it. And I haven’t looked back since.

Hold your horses. Hold the phone. Hold your wig. Just hold onto anything because you’ll need the support as you’ll be laughing your a** off. Max Monroe has done it again people, just when you think it can’t possibly get better it’s no surprise they knock your socks right off.

I’ve been dyiiiiiiiiiiing for Cap’s book since he first appeared in the series. Max Monroe gave just enough of Cap in the other books to cleanse my palate which only made me thirsty for more. And damn, this billionaire playboy had me falling more and more for him.

Ruby had me right from the get-go. I knew instantly she was going to be the perfect woman for Cap. She was able to bring out his vulnerable side. And ultimately showed Cap there’s more to life than work.

Cap charmed the pants off of me. Yes, he has his moments but it didn’t take away the fact that he still had me swooning nonstop. There were also countless times I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. I just fluffing loved him and couldn’t get enough.

Ruby and Cap were perfect for each other. The chemistry between these too is so intense and sizzling hot. I can’t even remember how many times they had me fanning myself, seriously, so hot.

The Billionaire Book Club was a hilariously laugh out loud read with so many feels. A fun and entertaining romantic comedy that had me wanting more. I also really enjoyed the appearance of some familiar faces. It’s always good to check up on what some of my faves are up to. Surprise surprise, but not really, the dynamic duo, Max Monroe fluffing did it again.

The Billionaire Book Club basically served as an opportunity to bring back old characters—from previous books and other series—and nothing else.
Ruby and Cap had zero chemistry, zero character development and their "relationship" (and that's a stretch calling it like that, even with the quotes) was based on... erotica novels. I am sure the oh-so-charming-every-lady-kept-dropping-the-panties hero had to undergo a brain surgery that reduced him to a social turnip.
Also, the billionaires kept mentioning how big their accounts are... it sounded more like a pissing contest which everyone loves so much. *waving a sarcasm sign*

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

I hate to do this, especially with a Max Monroe book, but I'm not feeling this one at all. I was really looking forward to Cap as well, but I'm quite turned off by his arrogant attitude, as it turns out.

I've seen plenty of great reviews popping up, so I hope that others enjoy this. Just not for me right now.

I haven’t anticipated a character’s story as much as I wanted and needed Caplin Hawkins’ story; in fact, I’d say it’s probably been since I impatiently waited for Thatch’s story, so the fact that I get both my main men in The Billionaire Book Club made me that much more ready to see what Max Monroe had in store for Cap and what woman would come into his life and bring him to his knees.

What I find interesting about Caplin’s contentedness is the fact that his job as a lawyer and the money in his bank account should allow him to live an extraordinary life - one that is so far above content that anyone would be jealous of the life he lives and the people and things he surrounds himself with…but he’s not, and a certain sassy woman shows him that he should want more…that he should open his horizons, so to speak, in ways that he never took the time to view or even felt like he wanted.

I do have to admit that Caplin is definitely an acquired taste, and I honestly think some readers may not like his attitude or his view on how his life should be lived, but, then again, some readers would say that about Thatch and I’ve been all about him since Max Monroe introduced readers to him. Now, I’m not saying that Cap is a complete douche, but there are times in the story that he frustrated the heck out of me and I wanted to slap a bit of sense into him and make him open his eyes in order to see the woman and the life staring back at him.

Ruby Rockford is quite the heroine, which is good because she’s going to need to hold her ground when it comes to the man who sees her as a challenge the minute she doesn’t fall for his charming ways and swoon over him. And even though she may be a bit of a hot mess at times, she is a strong and independent woman who refuses to bow down to a man who doesn’t deserve her until he truly understands that what they can have is so much more than the contentment he seems to demand.

The supporting cast of characters in Cap and Ruby’s story added to the shenanigans and the hilarity of the book because of their meddling ways as well as the fact that they weren’t afraid to tell it like it is when it comes to relationships and the missteps that can be taken. The Book Club/Poker Night scenes were some of my favorite because it allowed me an inside look at quite an interesting group of characters as well as the perspectives that come along with them. I truly couldn’t get enough of how these scenes were written and just how much Thatch reigns over his fellow members.

The Billionaire Book Club is an adorable romantic comedy that begins with quite an entertaining ‘meet cute’ for the hero and heroine and then proceeds to offer a plethora of scenes that had me laughing out loud, and, of course, any book that includes one of my favorite alpha males of all time - Thatch - is always going to be a great read.

Cap has been the man whose book I have been waiting for since he first turned up in an earlier book.

This is the guy who would give motherfluffing Thatch a run for his money.

I was wanting Cap to be as hilarious all through the book as he has been in the previous ones - but to me, he was pretty douchey and a proud manwhore to boot - and a bit stalkerish if I do say.

He does get better though, and in the end you can't help but adore him.

I love that Ruby doesn't fall for his crap and straight into his lap. She dishes it out, and doesn't let him get away with things.

I love, love loved the "Book Club" and the people involved. Of course, my love Thatch is in this story, and he still makes me laugh out loud.

The Billionaire Book Club was a little lighter on the "com" part of the rom-com than I was expecting, however it is still an enjoyable book that I will read again in the future.

Now I am impatiently awaiting the next installment.

„What if, just for tonight, you let yourself see what it might be like to like me?”

They did it again! Max Monroe cracked me up and comletely melted my heart! I was eagerly waiting for Cap's story and when I finally got it, I swallowed it up in one sitting. I knew that such a womanizer like Caplin Hawkins would have some difficulties on his way to happy ending, but I certainly wasn't expecting a woman like Ruby! Their story is simply adorable, hilarious and full of sexual tension that electrifies the air from the very first meeting. Perfect rom-com!

Successful lawyer, Caplin Hawkins, works hard and plays even harder. He doesn't want to limit himself to one woman, because he likes variety too much. Besides, he can't stand the thought of commitment, and a man like Cap appreciates his freedom and the ability to do what he wants, when he wants and well ... whoever he wants. Thus, when he meets a woman who seems to be immune to his advances, he immediately treats it as a challenge…

Dear Lord, how much I laughed during this read... Cap’s advances made me giggle, his meet-cute with Ruby made me chuckle like crazy, his meetings with friends were so awesome that I snorted and needed to wipe the drool, because HELLO- the authors squeezed their all sexy billionaire mother-fluffers into one room! But this story is not just smiles and giggles. The Billionaire Book Club is a totally swoon-worthy story that is charged with chemistry and sexual tension to the point that I was afraid that my device will burn out! I assure you, this book will light up your day and its humor will get you out of the biggest slump! Highly recommend!

“I love Ruby Reckford in a way I didn’t think was possible. Not for anyone, but especially for me.”

The Billionaire Book Club by Max Monroe is a new standalone, hilarious romantic comedy. Everyone was anticipating Caplin Hawkins story. I was really curious about the mysterious girl, beave enough to tame the hottest playboy in the city.

Caplin and Ruby's story is a light and easy read. Did I mention funny? Their first meeting was the funniest scene I have ever read. For the first time, I was happy I read at home. Caplin, the successful lawyer set his eyes on new prey, witty and smart law student/audiobooks narrator, Ruby. Cap, being a very confident man did not suspect Ruby will not fall to her knees in front of him. I loved her spirit, resistance, and very hard-working personality. Cap for the first time had to work to get Ruby attention, especially toward his bed. And there is nothing better than the help of his best billionaire best friends.

Will Caplin wear Ruby down? Will Ruby make Cap work hard for her attention?

Max Monroe in a great and funny way helped Ruby to tame Caplin. I really enjoyed reading every (almost) encounter between Cap and Ruby. And attention of all billionaires in one room was cherry on the top for me. Although Cap did not steal my heart completely. I did not like his motivations toward Ruby. She was open, sweet and completely honest with him. Even though Cap, after realizing his mistake, in a swooning and very creative way showed his love toward Ruby I think he should do better.

I can’t wait for more Caplin and his gang! Lena, I am ready for you!

An arc kindly received in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

5 star review The Billionaire Book Club by Max Monroe

What a cracking way to start to my last day at work before my holidays. From the first chapter, I knew that this book was going to be great and I wasn’t wrong.

Max Monroe have done it again. I have been intrigued by Cap since he first appeared in the series and this book has just cemented my love for him. Ruby Rockford had me in stitches from the introduction, I knew she was going to be the perfect woman to bring Cap to his knees and I was right.

I loved how Cap’s entire perspective on life was influenced by Ruby as he fell for her, she really brought out his more caring and vulnerable side showing his that there is more to life than work, work and more work.

The chemistry between Cap and Ruby is intense and so smoking hot I almost needed a fan.

The appearance of some familiar faces is always greeted with a smile and when the men get together to discuss ideas on how Cap can woo Ruby, then you know that there are going to be some awkward and uproariously funny shenanigans going on.

This was a laugh out loud, hilarious read that had me receiving many funny looks as I was reading on the train to work. It was non stop fun and all I can say is please write more stories with these amazing characters. Another fabulous book Max Monroe, you two nail the RomCom genre and set a very high bar for others.

This book was so bad, just thinking about it literally makes me feel violent. DNF'd at 87% because the second Cap whipped out the HUMAN SIZED (why????) Children's Book as his way of apologizing for being the grossest, shittiest, downright most deplorable human being to ever live. The fact that this book has so many positive reviews is honestly astounding.

And the thing is I was REALLY looking forward to getting to Cap's book. I thought he was my favorite before, but now I almost wish he were a real person that I could kill him myself. His arrogant attitude got old SO fast when I realized that he actually thought he was god's gift to women. And the fact that he tricked is friends into helping Ruby fall for him JUST SO HE COULD SCREW HER AND BAIL????? SERIOUSLY???? I CANNOT BE THE ONLY ONE WHO FINDS THIS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.

And please save the whole "well he didn't realize she was falling for him, he thought he was just seducing her" because it has no power here. The man intentionally wooed her. Introduced her to his family. Took her parents with them on a trip to the lake. If he didn't realize that he was setting her up with false expectations, he's an idiot.

One of the worst books I have ever EVER read.

I never thought Max Monroe could top my all time favorite book boyfriend Thatcher Kelly. I was wrong. Not that I’m dethroning Thatch but Cap......well I’d definitely Cap That!
The Billionaire Book Club has now topped my favorite list. One of the pluses is it brings ALL the Billionaires together in a single quest to help Cap get the girl. I can’t even begin to imagine the thought process that went on while writing the scenes with all these hot testosterone filled billionaires discussing romance novels.
Cap is living the life. Rich, good looking, single, women throwing themselves at him. In some of the funniest moments, rivaling Leslie in Tapping the Billionaire Cap ends up meeting the one woman who doesn’t throw herself at him. A first meeting that had me laughing out loud (please listen to the disclaimer as to where you should and shouldn’t read this). I absolutely loved Cap and Ruby. I’m sure I will never see scenes like their book club ever again. Again, watch where you read this you may have to explain why you are laughing so much.
Thank you Max Monroe for bringing all the boys together in The Billionaire Bookclub. I knew Cap’s book had to be huge.

The Cap-i-tain of our hearts will succeed in wooing you too!
"Caplin Hawkins is a woman-using, heartbreaking, philandering commitment-phobe of a man"... a character Max Monroe have created that has somehow made their readers fall in love with. Thatcher's protege may love a plethora of woman but in this book he's about to fall hard for the only woman who works over-time to steer clear of him... the pursuit of Ruby Rockford is proving to be highly entertaining because she's a puzzle he's desperately aching to solve. Will he be able to break through her difficult, opinionated, stubborn mind and leave a mark on her closed-off heart? Read "The Billionaire Book Club" and find out...I know I couldn't wait to read it ASAP! 5 Laugh-Out-Loud Stars for Cap's story... and in Thatcher Kelly's wise words, "The biggest A-holes always fall the hardest!"

Max and Monroe has done it again!!!! I have been waiting on pins and needles for Cap's book and I must say I was not disappointed at all. I literally had tears in over half of this book but in true to Max Monroe's form it was from laughing so hard. I instantly loved Ruby. I loved everything about her. I knew going in it was going to take a lot for me to really love Cap. I mean I have liked his character but I wasn't in love with him. However, by the end I was hook, line and sinker in love with him!! I seriously can not wait to read what comes next!! Oh and I have to say the absolute best thing ever is the "Billionaire Book Club" I laughed so hard every time that came up. It was beyond hilarious.

This is my first Max Monroe book and definitely not my last!! Cap and Ruby were so much fun to read and it was definitely hard to put down. Cap was cocky, sexy and definitely a handful but Ruby handled him with ease but what would you expect from the gorgeous, sassy, tell-it-like-it-is woman who turned his head. Definitely a romcom I could read over and over again.... time to grab the rest of the books because I need the other couples stories now!

3.5⭐️

This book was mortifyingly hilarious. I don't know if it’s the writing or the narrators. Or if it’s the perfect combination of the two.
Book 2 was funny throughout the book. I liked it so much I wanted to give book 3 a try. The last third of this was not as amusing—a bit over the top in one of the ending chapters. Overall it was a fun little book.
