You Should've Called Me

Rate this book
Three soul-searching women in need of being loved + three fiercely passionate men who should’ve called them first = six people who may find a love that’s real...

Nola Bentley is the oldest of the Bentley sisters. She’s capable of giving her sisters relationship advice but can’t seem to apply it to her own. After being in an eight-year relationship with her boyfriend, Rue, without receiving a ring, she begins to second guess whether their love is worth the fight or not. Rue is a selfish man who only thinks of himself and what will benefit him; not even their son can change that. His selfish ways drive Nola right into the arms of his boss, Desmond McEntire, who’s had his eyes on Nola for years. Things get heated in the love triangle, leaving Nola stuck to make a decision that will leave one of them hurt.

Izabel Bentley is the middle Bentley sister who has completely given up on love. After being constantly cheated on and manipulated by her ex-boyfriend, Josh, Izabel vows to never love another. She puts all her time, love, and energy into her foster care business and two daughters she shares with Josh. An unexpected, messy situation with one little boy tugs at her heart; leading her to his father, Omari Marks. Not usually the one to bend her own rules, Izabel finds herself battling the thoughts of giving love another try. Omari seems to be the perfect man to give in to, but will Izabel’s stubborn ways cause her to miss out on a love that could be real?

Tatum Bentley is the youngest of the Bentley sisters, and has endured the most out of the three. An abusive, controlling relationship with an older man leads her to doing the unthinkable; attempt of suicide. During the relationship, she’s forced to shut out everyone she loves; including her best friend, Dylan Pierce. Dylan saves her from ending her life, then leaves her to fight for herself. Years pass by before they’re reunited, and old and new feelings emerge from both sides. The only thing keeping Dylan from professing his love for Tatum is his fiancée, Monet. Knowing Tatum is who he’s supposed to be with, he goes above and beyond to show her, but will his disappearance make it impossible for Tatum to forgive him?

Loved it!!

I laughed, I cried and I loved this book! The Bentley sisters are something else and I’m glad that they finally got the happiness they deserved! Rue and Josh really had some nerve acting like they were the victims! I’m glad Izzy and Nola were strong enough to chose themselves! Great read ! I’m thinking I’m gonna need a wedding update! Lbs

Good read

I love reading about sisters. Their relationships and the love they carried for each other definitely helped them get through bad times. Nola, Isabel, and Tatum were all good women that any man in his right mind would treasure. Rue and Josh will regret their losses forever for sure! Desmond, Omari, and Dylan found their “good thing”!

True Happiness

I really loved the Bentley sisters and their loving men! Everything was relatable and it just showed how true love can definitely come out of the most unknown situations! I’d hope to get an update on them later on regarding Tatums wedding!

Great book!

I love everything about this book. The storyline, the writing and the message. I love how the 3 sisters had such a close bond. I love how great their parents were and how they stood behind them. I even love how they had to go through drama with terrible men to finally meet and appreciate the men of their dreams. This book was completely swoon worthy.

This book, had me allllll in my feelings. There was something in the mothers I adored, and each sister with their fiesty selves.

Rue and Monet needed choked out.
Jessica needed a beatdown and Josh needed to be humbled.
I loved Dylan but that Desmond gave me hope. I need me a Desmond, Smooth, Smart, Successful and Sexy.
This author poured a lot into this book and wrote her heart out. I cannot wait to see what else she puts out. I could see this as a Netflix series. Here's my visuals...
Lol
Desmond is the black cop on ChicagoPD. Kevin Atwater
Dylan and Tatum are- Terrence J and Megan Goode
Monet is Logan Browning from Bet show Hit The Floor (Jelena the mean girl lol)
Izzie- Keke Palmer and Josh- Columbus Short
Nola- ReginaHall and Rue- Brian J White from Stomp the Yard

So Freaking Dope

Whew this one gave me so many feels. I cried, I laughed, and my heart definitely skipped a couple of beats. I love the time and effort that you can see goes into DeeAnn's work. There were some scenes that took me a minute to read so I know it had to take her a minute to write them. One thing for certain whether it's urban or contemporary DeeAnn is going to drop some gems. Forever a supporter I will be. This storyline with these Bentley sisters.....I loved every page of it. Give a dope author a shot and I promise you will not be disappointed.

You Should Read This

You Should’ve Called Me by Dee Ann is about 3 sisters Nola, Izabel and Tatum Bentley. They’ve all experienced heartache at the hands of people that were supposed to love them. In comes 3 amazing Black men who’ve also experienced difficulties in life but are ready to love these amazing women. Desmond, Omari and Dylan gave me all the feels. Cheers to finding better instead of being bitter (side eying Rue)!

Very good read!!

These three sisters had such a tight bond, I loved it! Izabel, Nola, and Tatum went through traumatic relationships but ended up stronger than ever. I loved how this book painted a good representation of each sister, like their personalities,
their career, and what each went through in their relationships (old and new). The flow was great and each character was developed well. The three men, Dylan, Desmond, and Omari were everything. They had patience and were caring and just what the girls needed. I really liked this book a lot!! ❤️

Didn't Like The Title But Loved The Book

I love how close the sisters are but I didn't like how Tatum hid her truths for so long that it pushed her to almost committing suicide if it wasn't for Dylan. Nola was crazy for being with Rue for so many years when he was content with being her forever boyfriend and absentee father to their son. Rue was a fool not to heed to Desmond's warning when he first met Nola. Desmond stepped up to the plate to be the man and father that Nola and Dayton needed. Izabel was crazy for not ending things with Josh when she found someone else's underwear IN THEIR BED but at least she was done when he had a baby on her. Omari might not have had a lot of money to spend on Izabel but he made up for it with the time, love, and faithfulness he bestowed upon Izzy. I so wanted her to be pregnant instead of just gained happy weight. When it think on Dylan and Tatum I hear these lyrics, "A love like yours is the greatest. It must have been sent from up above. And I know we'll stay that way for always" and not even Monet could compare to that. I'm glad that the sisters received the men and love that their hearts had been longing for.

You Should’ve Called Me

The Bond the sister shared was unbreakable. All of them knew they could depend on each other. The original men in their lives did not deserve their love.
Their parents gave them example of a healthy relationship.
Read this book to find out if the sisters find a man worthy of them

Yes Bentley Sisters!

These sisters were ride or die, for real for real! Anytime of the day or night that you need them, one call is all it took; for both sisters to arrive. Was sad for all of them, enduring bad men in their relationships. But, the second time around was a charm for all three of them. Glad they found love and happiness. Good job. 👍👍

I agree

The three sisters did conclude this story with the right man for them. As close knit as the sister's were to the other, it amazed me how much they missed in the other's life. In the end, happiness and love won each of their deserving hearts.

I love all three sisters and some moments reminded me of my sisters. The man were amazing. I wish I could have a little of all three but Desmond was my favorite. Happy that each sister found love and realized that they were worthy of it.

Very Good Book

This was my first time reading a book by this author. It was very good. This family of sisters are very close to each other. The men in their lives did not treat them the way a man suppose to treat his woman. Tatum,Nola and Izabel found new loves that showed them what real love should be like.

Book of Love

WOW! This book is so full of love...like real love! I wanted to bust all of their ex's heads to the white meat though. They all deserved better and they got it! I was happy as heck. The couples were matched perfectly. All of their parents made me want to have parents like them, except for that Monet chick. Entertaining read that I enjoyed.
