Favorite Quotes:

I loved her from the moment she walked into homeroom on the first day of eighth grade. The fact that she had on a Nirvana T-shirt and a pair of ripped jeans just made me fall even harder.

He’s about as exciting as a piece of toast… The man doesn’t even eat dessert. Who doesn’t eat dessert? It’s unnatural…He’s definitely not a keeper… I can’t be with someone who doesn’t appreciate a great cupcake or even a cookie, for shit’s sake.

Shave your bits, girl. You may get lucky tonight… I like a great hairy leg, but yours is a bit prickly. I don’t think Jack will approve… You’ll need a machete to get through that jungle, doll…

My Review:

Mend was a quick and easy read with an engaging, sweet, and somewhat steamy love story occurring over two time periods. Packaged with endearing characters, an emotive and heart-squeezing yet entertaining narrative of young love, conniving villains, snarky levity, small-town pettiness, and a sweet first and second-chance romance; Chelle Bliss has completely satisfied my wishlist for today. Loves me some Chelle Bliss!

A sweet, feel-good, second chance romance.

This was a relatively quick and easy to read book. The characters, Evie and Jack, are enjoyable and you can easily relate to them and their story. After they are reunited for the second time they quickly realise that they never fell out of love despite assuming they have both been wronged by the other. The story then works towards making their love whole again as Jack realises that he needs to return to his hometown in order to make Evie his once again.

I want an eternity with you, Jack. You’re my forever. Always have been, and always will be.

After seeing Jack again for the first time in years, Evie flees from him and in doing so knocks herself out. When she opens her eyes, Jack is holding her in his arms and despite her best intentions, she realises this is where she has always meant to be. With a secret haunting her though, Evie tries to push Jack away until she can find a way to tell him what happened between them years before.

I’m drunk on Evie, and I don’t think life will ever be the same again.

The side character of Evan seemed to be my particular favourite in this story. Living with Evie, Jack assumed that he will have a fight on his hands to win her heart once again but little does he know that he also rings Evan’s bells. Evan was funny, warm, charismatic and an absolute sweetie and I almost wished he was the main character of this story.

I’ve always belonged to Jack Nelson.

Whilst I enjoyed the book I found it a little simplistic and despite wanting to love the story, I found it lacking somewhat in plot, depth and drama. After the initial mystery as to why Evie and Jack stopped communicating when separated as teenagers, and the revelation that Evie kept something huge from Jack, there was no drama and an all too easy acceptance, in my opinion. I wanted fireworks, frustration, rejection, fighting for their relationship but sadly, Jack just forgave Evie and they carried on with their relationship as if nothing had happened.

We’re a team now, Evie girl.

As always, Chelle Bliss’ writing style drew me in with ease especially due to the delicious characters that she creates and Evie, Jack and Evan were no exception.

Mend is a short second chance novel, that by the end, will leave you smiling. Jack and Evie were young sweethearts who were separated by her parents.
After 6 years apart, there is still love and a hope that one day they can be together.

While I enjoyed the book as a whole it had a few things that I struggled with. I thought both Jack and Evie gave up one another so easily. He believed her letters that she didn't love him anymore and she believed letters from her friend. My first thought was why were they setting letters instead of texting, e-mailing, Facebook -ing?

Also, her family lived in the area for 4 years but they purchase cemetery plots there. Seeing that her father was in the service, I didn't understand why they picked this area.

I also didn't understand why her father wouldn't have a military service for his funeral.

It was mentioned so many times that Ridge Hollow is an incredibly small town. I can't believe with all the nosey neighbors and her bitchy friend that no one knew her secret or that she came to town often.

It ended on a high note but I was hoping for more.

Jack is a very devoted man when it comes to his woman, “I like the sound of that.” I smirk because being in Evie’s bed every night and some days has been the best effing time I’ve had in years." Evie just has to put her foot down at times, "when I start to follow her, she places her hand up and shakes her head. “I’m showering alone. We don’t have time for more, and I know exactly how you are.” I liked this book, I loved that Jack was a persistent man.

Mend is a standalone second chance romance that is different than what this author usually writes. That’s not a bad thing, I loved it. This book had me in tears reading her forward. There is so much emotion poured into this book and you can feel it.

Jack and Evie fell in love at first sight in eighth grade. They were each other’s first everything, first kiss, first person to make love to. They were each other’s best friend. Evie came from a very strict family and her military father didn’t want Evie with Jack. Her father had orders to transfer to Germany and kept those plans a secret. They told Evie last minute, so she only had a day with a few hours to say goodbye to Jack. They were going into their senior year in high school. They had made plans to be together once they graduated. But the move changed all their plans. Promises were made only to be broken. Hearts were broken.

Jack is a successful businessman that started an on-line business in college that has taken off. He and his partner are doing very well for themselves in Philadelphia, but all the success doesn’t mean a thing when he doesn’t have the only woman he ever loved by his side. Jack still has ties to the small town he grew up in as his mother and sister still live on the family farm. He goes back often to help his widowed mother with the farm and his difficult teenage sister Myra. He never thought he would ever see Evie again after she broke his heart, but there she was back in town in the arms of another man.

Six years later Evie returns to town with her gay best friend Evan in tow, she has an agenda that must be met. Evan is there to support her and to make sure she does what she set out to do even though it was going to be painful. The last thing that Evie wanted to do was run into Jack, but fate had other ideas.

This was such an emotional read. My heart hurt for Jack and Evie. There was betrayal by the very people that you should be able to trust. Friends lied and twisted truths. Secrets were kept, and hearts were broken. Secondary characters were fantastic, there were those that you love to hate and then there are those that are precious like Evan. His character is what everyone wants in a best friend. He would do anything for Evie, even push her to realize she is making the biggest mistake of her life if she doesn’t admit that she is still in love with Jack and to give him a second chance. I am not going to say anymore. There is a lot that goes on, but I don’t want to spoil the journey.

If you want a sweet, funny and sexy second chance romance then give Mend a read!

"Love isn't something that can be swept away or forgotten so easily or so quickly."

Jack and Evie met when they were 13 years old and they both knew.....down to their souls that they were meant to be together forever. They made plans. They were going to build a future together. Unfortunately, those plans didn't include Evie's father...and others...doing everything in their power to keep them apart.

6 years later and a chance encounter brings these two soulmates back together.
Can they make it work this time or will old secrets threaten to tear them apart?

Jack and Evie have beautiful spirits and they were brought to life by the amazing writing talent of Ms Bliss. Mend is a book that will fill your heart up and leave you believing in happily ever afters.

Mend by Chelle Bliss is the story of Evie Harper and Jack Nelson.
Evie and Jack met in high school and fell in love. But before she was 18 years old her father and her moved to Germany. Evie told Jack she would be back in a years time to be with him and he promised to wait for her. But now some years later Evie and her best friend Evan are back in town where she happens to see Jack again. Both thinking that the other lied and broke their promise to be together causes them to act upset with each other at first. But their true feeling of love that never ended keep coming out.
This was are really great second chance at love story that I did not want to put down! Loved it and hope to read more soon from this author!

I received a copy and voluntarily left a review

Usually what comes to mind before I read one of Chelle Bliss's books is the hot sex and dirty mouthed hero that I am going to meet. To say that Mend is unlike any of Chelle Bliss's other reads is an understatement but don't worry, she gives us so many feels while the heat gradually builds that soon your body and soul are completely on fire and you are not ready to quit reading until the end! She gives us first love, second chances, and six years of hurt and pent up frustration that is sure to release in a tangle of limbs and sweaty sheets. Chelle takes us to Ridge Hollow for a front row seat to all of the angst and desire that surges between Jack and Evie and you won't want to miss a minute!

Jack Nelson had my heart from the beginning with his unrequited love for Evie. Nothing is sexier than a man who still has a flame burning for his first love and Jack's could practically scorch you! He kept me holding on by a string with every emotion he feels and word he utters to his “Evie girl” I can't say I wouldn't have run into a float upon seeing him again as well in all of his sexy male glory! I can't gush enough about this hero and his hell bent plan to grab a hold of Evie and never let go. Second chance romances always draw me in, have me shedding tears and leave my heart full and Jack just made it so much more intense...sigh!

Evie is my kind of girl, with a good head on her shoulders and a huge heart for those she loves. Not to mention the fact that she is head over heels for Jack, what can I say, she has great taste! As Evie's story progresses you realize how much pain she has had to endure and you can't help feeling more and more admiration for this heroine and her strength!

Chelle Bliss delivers a story that is sure twist your emotions and your panties and leave a Jack and Evie size hole in your heart that no other fictional characters could ever fill. I highly recommend Chelle's book Mend for a second chance romance that will leave you breathless and filled to the brim with emotion! She is an amazingly, talented author who has drawn us into the arms of the Gallo family and has shown us again and again with different series that she has more characters to give us to obsess over and love with all of our hearts. Keep giving us the stories Chelle and we will keep coming back for more!

Mend was a stand-alone by Chelle Bliss. I’m a sucker for second chances and this was no exception.

Jack and Evie were childhood sweethearts. Evie moved away with her family with promises from both that they’d be together again as soon as they graduated. Fast forward six years and that obviously didn’t happen.

Bliss took us through a fast and fun read detailing the past and present simultaneously. I loved both Evie and Jack as well as some great supporting characters.

In the end, it was quick, humorous and entertaining. Although a stand-alone, there were several awesome characters that need their own story so hopefully we’ll see more from Ridge Hollow soon!

Mend is one of those stories that is impossible not to like. I mean it is just one rainbow after another, so what’s not to like, right? Well, I can’t really say I disliked any of it, but I can say there was a lot of missed opportunity for some real-life gut-punching. Here’s where my review might get a little spoilery, but I’ll try to not give anything away.

In my opinion, the journey of Evie and Jack was way too easy. Both were too easy on each other. There were almost no consequences for the past that kept them apart for the last six years nor for the big bomb Evie dropped on Jack. I can’t really give you any details, but I was stunned at how it all unfolded. They were both young, so the circumstances that kept them apart weren’t farfetched but to have little to no consequences once it all unfolded was a little too rainbows and gumdrops for my taste. There just was zero struggle to their journey. It lacked the emotional depth that should come with such a story-line. So again, it’s not an unenjoyable read, it’s just too easy for my taste.

There are some aspects of the story that made zero sense to me. For example ….

So, I can’t say that I’m excited about this story, but it’s not a bad story. I just feel like so much was left on the table that could have made this story outstanding ……

Second chance love at its finest

MEND, is going to be one of those books that I will be marking in my TOP TEN for 2018. Ms Bliss has written one of the very best second chance stories that I have read. This was such an emotional read, with the turn of every page, I didn't know if I was going to be laughing or crying. Chelle mentions in her forward that she shelved this story, thinking she would never be able to complete it. Thank goodness she did, what she has written is a beautiful story of two people, Jack and Evie, who were born to be soulmates. This book, to me, rates up there with ENSHRINE, another of Ms Bliss's books that is truly magnificent.

Jack and Evie have loved each other since they were eight years old. Theirs is a love that is undefinable, insurmountable - it is eternal. They pledge their love to one another, only to have circumstances tear them apart. It is now, six years later, that circumstances have once again brought them back together. The past must be dealt with before they can move on, but will the secret, that is hidden, keep them apart permanently?

As I have said, this is an emotionally heart breaking story. Ms Bliss's in depth treatment of her characters is superb, every heartache, pain and elation is experienced by the reader. The detailed flashbacks only add to the brilliance of this story - they enhance the storyline by showing how much Jack and Evie meant to each other, even at such a young age.

I would definitely have to say that this would have to be one of Ms Bliss's finest stories. The emotions are laid bare, the characters are well developed and beautifully written and the storyline is simply superb.

If you only read one book this year, it must be MEND.

Absolutely brilliant and highly recommended.

The Author's words, the forward, at the beginning of the book almost had me in tears. Chelle Bliss has been through so much yet she's still strong, and I'm in awe of her!

This second chance romance story will have your heart beating along with the characters. They're incredibly well portrayed and even though they're quite complex, they're a joy to read. Though Evie annoyed me a little when she ran all the time instead of talking with Jack about everything. But that's just how the story is. The story starts of very vague about everything, but it keeps you completely hooked, wondering what's going to happen and wanting to uncover all the secrets and mysteries surrounding the characters.

My heart broke for Evie at a certain point in this book, I won't mention the scene as I don't want to ruin it for other readers, and it makes you think and put things into perspective about your own life. Chelle Bliss was very clever in that too.

The ending was amazing and I felt my eyes watering at the outcome of everything, with all the characters from the book.

I LOVED Evan. He's just so sweet and amazing! He's not the kind of best friend that holds you back but pushes you forward. My least favourite character was Renee... she's one of those girls in school that you avoid like the plague.

The part where Evie is driving the car was a bit rushed as we're thrown from one scene into another in the blink of an eye but that's the only thing I didn't really like about the whole story.

Overall, and amazing and gripping read. I recommend this to anyone who loves a good second-chance romance.

Miss Bliss pays tribute to her father in the Foreword of this book in a truly moving expression of love. It is equally true that the heartache of loss is immeasurable.

A story of lies, betrayal and loss. The story begins six years before when Evie announced her father got his orders weeks before and never told her … until the night before that they were moving to Germany. Jack has loved Evie from the moment she walked into homeroom on the first day of eighth grade. They are nine months away from graduation.

Promises broken:::

“I love you, Evie. This isn’t goodbye…” I thought he’d love me forever, but it didn’t take him very long to move on after I left. He simply stopped writing before banging most of the girls at Ridge Hollow High. Renee, my best friend, made sure to fill me in on every detail.

Evie’s father and Reneé sabotaged their relationship. “I wish he would’ve waited for me. I meant every word I said to him when I left Ridge Hollow”. Her ‘friend’ Reneé was a snobbish, manipulative, envious viper.

Six years later Jack is in shock seeing Evie, that she’s with someone else doesn’t deter him. Chasing after her as she tries to evade him, she collides with a parade float and is knocked unconscious. Evan (her best friend) takes her to get medical attention.

Interactions with Evan - about Jack:::
“Evie, you said he was handsome, you never told me he was the hottest man on Earth. Please tell me he has a micropeen.”
“I needed a microscope to find it.”
“You’re an as*hole.”

Dr. Baylor turns to leave and he and Evan share a look before he walks out.
“That man is fine,”
“We’re here for my head, not yours.”
“It’s always about me, Evie. Don’t blow this for me. Don’t freak out.”
“Evan, why don’t you let him put a needle in your head and stay calm?”
“I’m a pretty tough guy. The man can poke me anywhere, and I wouldn’t flinch.”
I tilt my head, remembering him crying the last time he had a hangnail. “I remember…”
“Shh.” He places his finger over my lips. “You have a head injury.”

“Evan, Reneé isn’t a good person, she’s not the kind of friend you’d want. Trust me on this. She’s bad news.”
“Seriously? She seems really sweet.”
“Dead. F……. Serious.”

Reneé is not a friend... She and Jess have achieved very little to show in their lives, maintaining an arrogance to everyone around them. She is trashy, vulgar and envious, Jess in turn is blind to her machinations.

Flashback:::
“Who’s this?” I ask Reneé. There’s a guy with him I have never seen before. Jack was supposed to come with me, but he had to watch his little sister.
“What is that?”
“What? Kevin. Pfft. He’s nice, and you have to admit he’s cute. Jack couldn’t come, so…”
“You know Jack wouldn’t like this. Why would you think this is okay? Kevin thinks we are on a date.”
“Calm down. You’re not married to Jack, and it isn’t like you have to do anything with Kevin. That is, if you don’t want to.” She winks.
“I’m going home.”
Jack unexpectedly shows up to claim his girl, venturing as far as joining them.

Evan and Evie share a unique and special friendship, broken from their pasts and emotionally detached.
“Let’s make a deal, Evie.”
“When you find love and finally allow it into your life, I’ll find my forever too.”
“It’s a deal,” I tell him, but I know it’s not fair.

Evan and Evie met during their senior year and forged a deep connection. Both uprooted and ready to break their confines as soon as they graduated and earned their freedom from military life. Years spent years backpacking, trying to forget their pasts and clinging to each other. When he came out to his parents after graduation, they shunned him. The cruel, hateful names never to be forgiven nor forgotten.

Evie’s relationship with her parents was strained, her father’s ultimatum was to enroll in college or join the service. Evan and Evie became a team and created their own family of two, for five years. Her mother died two years after she left Germany, and her father experienced a massive heart attack a month ago. His remains sit in an urn in her bedroom, awaiting burial in the family plot.

She’s been back and usually visits under the radar, slipping in and out undetected. Evan’s responsible for their extended visit as he fell in love with the small town reminiscent of the many inviting small villages they visited in Europe.
‘Even though I only spent four years of my life here, nowhere else felt this right. I had so many great memories that surrounded me at every turn that I couldn’t deny it was truly the one place that felt like home’.

Her father intercepted their communications sabotaging their relationship by sending a missive to Jack pretending to be Evie, severing their romance. Four months after giving birth, their baby, Willow died of SIDS, her remains buried next to her parents.

Jack unconditionally loves Evie-even when she’s accompanied by another man. He is gentle, caring and utterly devoted to her.

Evie tries to remain indifferent however true love transcends all...

He proposed early in her second pregnancy with Adeline, Evie is now three months along in her third pregnancy and they still haven’t tied the knot.

They’ve achieved a plateau of success, garnering happiness in their personal lives. “Come here, you big hunk of man.”
“Merry Christmas, Evan.” I’m enjoying the feel of him.
“You can let him go now,” Kurt says, looming over me.
Adeline bounces in Kurt’s arms. As we sit on the couch, I can’t help but glance around and feel a sense of completeness. A few years ago, I never imagined this would be my life. Ridge Hollow has become my home, and Kurt, Jack, and Adeline have made Evie and me complete. We are a unit…all five, soon to be six, of us.

No longer is it Evie and me against the world. We are officially a family.

An endearing end.

Ms. Bliss has given her readers another emotional story from first love as teenagers and then meeting again several years later. Second chance romance is one of my favorites and Jack and Evie’s story is heartbreaking at times due to several events but it was easy to believe that they had a love for a lifetime. As soon as Jack sees her again, he doesn’t hesitate to make Evie his again.

The story alternates between the POV of both Jack and Evie and I like that format as it’s easier to understand the emotions of each character. We see them in the present but also as they remember their past. They are both hurt over the other’s actions in the past and it was interesting as the details emerged which caused them to move on with their lives but never forgetting each other.

Evie’s friend, Evan is a hoot and they’ve become close friends who would do anything for each other. I hope that there will be an additional book to continue the lives and loves of the various characters.

I love epilogues and Ms. Bliss gives us two! This was a quick but engaging read.

Ms. Bliss wrote this story during a difficult time in her life as she notes in the Foreward and she put all of her heartbreak and love into this story. This story is different from her Gallo’s series but I love all of her work and look forward to the next book.

This is one of those hug a book, books!! You know the ones where you finish them and you just want to hug it because it made you feel good? This is one of those!

The feels in this book blew me away. I just loved their connection.

Jack is home helping out his mother and sister. He's not there often but he goes home from time to time to help out. He runs a successful business and is usually busy with work. He's taken out his sister to the fair when he spots a face he thought he'd never see again. Evie. His one true love. The one that got away. She's back.

Evie is in her old home town. Well one of them. Her father was in the military and they moved a lot but this town is the only one that ever felt like home for her. She's here for a reason and has brought her friend Evan with her for moral support. They're at the fair when she see's him. Jack. It's the first time she's seen him since she left. Her first instinct is to run. This ends in an accident where she is forced to speak to him. She's still hurt by what happened between them.

Jack now knowing she is home decides enough is enough he's going to speak to her where she likes it or not.

GAH! Just loved it. It's such a well written love story you feel the sizzle when they start to reconnect almost as though it's you there feeling it with them. Jack and Evie have a shared past that was almost perfect. I just smiled at the flashbacks to know how deep their love went even at such a young age was a joy to read.

Jack wasn't your usual Chelle Bliss Alpha but he's Alpha none the less. I was so glad of his determination to talk to Evie and to clear things up once and for all. The way he loved her and his family i guarantee you will fall for him.

Evies' heartbreak was palpable at times but i just loved how she didn't let it be everything she was just a part of her. Her friendship with Evan brought a bit of a lighter feel to the book and i enjoyed everything to do with them. My one complaint is that Evan and Kurt never got their own book!

I loved the storyline. Nothing too dramatic or extremely sexy but it still just drew you in. Just a note there was some hotness just not overloaded. It was a perfect balance for a beautiful love story. Past mistakes, pain and heartbreak but also love and hope and dreams of a future. Brilliant.

A great romance that will make you smile big and hug your kindle like a crazy person!

5 star review Mend by Chelle Bliss
What a story; I love second chance romance stories and Mend is an excellent example of the genre. This book was a roller coaster of an emotional read, full of highs and lows.
Jack and Evie were in love but circumstances tore them apart, only to come back together 6 years later.
I was engrossed from chapter one and frankly couldn’t put it down, saying to myself, just one more chapter, then another until I finally fell asleep around 3am having finished the book
Both Jack and Evie need to confront the past before they can move on and although both still love one another, can they get over the hurt and emotional pain it caused and move forward together?
I know Ms. Bliss has had this book on hold for close to a year, but I am so glad she decided to re-visit the story and release it. This is a beautifully written love story. I fell in love with Jack and Evie and oh how I wanted them to get their well deserved happily ever after.
Ms. Bliss writes with a depth of character that at times comes right out of no-where and knocks your socks off; the layers of emotions she peels back can at times be heart wrenching, shocking and surprising. Mend is a well written, emotional and soul reaching book and I congratulate her; I have to say that this may well be her best book to date and I truly thought nothing would beat Enshrine but in my opinion Mend comes close.

MEND is a stand-alone, second-chance romance.

Tissue alert! Make sure you have a full box!! This story brought tears of sadness, frustration, laughter, and joy. This was a lovely, sweet, second-chance romance that I gives me chills all over again in reminiscing as I write this.

I wouldn’t want to give anything away, but just know that there is deception and a secret that must be revealed – both of which will bring out the tissues.

While Chelle C. Bliss is known for a lot more steam in her stories, this is sweet with only a bit of mild steam. Still, the steam level is right for this second-chance couple as they find one another again.

One additional note: the blurb tells you about Jack and Evie, because this is their story. It maybe should also mention Evan. He is Evie’s friend and almost stole the show! Every girl needs a friend like Evan…. Maybe someone could talk Ms. Bliss into a little follow up novella about our man?

Note: while I was given this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Second chance Romance...Ohh I just love these types of books!!! Soo much feels this book is going to give you...Holy crap get ready for your heart to be put on the Mend.

Jack and Evie are childhood friends that fall into Love with each other. Evie's daddy does not like this relationship and ends up moving the family far away. Making Evie say her goodbyes quickly to her Love-Jack. They make promises to each other that they will keep in touch, they vow they will be together again.

But six years went by, they didn't keep their promises. Something happened...each have their own thoughts as to what went down. But they were mistaken. Six years is when they meet up again and hopefully now they can Mend what happened over the years of being apart.

I gave Mend 5 Heartfelt iScream Cones!! I am such a huge Chelle Bliss fan and again this read will definitely pull at those heartstrings. Such a wonderful love story to read about!!

I love a good second chance romance and “Mend” has to be rated as one of the best.

Evie and Jack were high school sweethearts who had separated due to her families relocation, even though they were desperately in love, and both promising to stay true. Evie even planned to return after her graduation.
Plans don’t always work out though and it’s 6 years before they meet again. Jack then is determined to remind Evie how good they were together and make her his girl, he still loves her and he always will, but does she still care about him? And is their love still as strong as ever? And the big question, why wait 6 years to return?

This was a fast paced story, and many questions, which had prompt answers thanks to the pace of the plot and storyline. There were several flashbacks, some of them about their time together and many apart. And we’re still left with not really knowing whether they will get back together permanently.
I loved it, a true romance, great fun from the best friend, a little tension, lots of steamy love scenes and a HEA dangling just with in reach.

Mend by Chelle Bliss is a story about a forever kind of love, one that consumes your heart, mind and soul that you can't live without. But you try to move on from it.

Evie and Jack were madly in love and promised each other forever. Forever wasn't as long as they thought when Evie's dad, who was in the military, was moved to Germany. Promising to wait for each other, Evie and Jack had an emotional goodbye, that they each believed wouldn't be forever.

Six years goes by and Jack and Evie meet again, with the same feelings still between them. Evie wants to be strong and resist Jack because he promised her forever and forgot all about her soon after she left for Germany. Jack yearned to know why Evie told him she wouldn't wait for him, telling him to move on that it was over and now was his chance to get answers.

But while Evie and Jack begin to find their way to each other again, Evie worries that the secret she holds, that only her best friend Evan knows. Evie knows she needs to tell Jack but she is worried that she will lose him all over again, and she won't survive it a second time.

This story is full of love and friendship. The friendship between Evie and Evan is one that every girls should have. He is funny, caring, and the family she always needed.

Mend by Chelle Bliss is different from her other books that I have read. A second chance love story, it was a poignant story of a love that was unraveled by lies of others.

Evie and Jack had grown their love from their early teen-age years until being torn apart the senior year in high school. When Evie had to move away, they promised each other forever. But the deception of others shatters their love. Years later, they come back together and realize that the love they shared is still strong.

As they work their way through all that happened, your heart will overflow with emotions as they declare their love and journey to the HEA.

There are several secondary characters that help make the story that much more interesting, both good and bad ones. But the impact they eject into the story is essential.

A moderately quick read, Ms. Bliss has given us a intriguing story with appealing characters.

Gripped from the start, I loved this story as I’m a huge fan of second chance romances!

We meet Evie & Jack, high school sweethearts, who have been torn apart since their senior year of high school due to her dad being in the forces.
They promise to stay true to one another and she will be back after graduation.

However, their plans are spoiled by some so-called friends and they spend the next 6 years apart until a chance meeting back in their home town is the catalyst to see if their love is still as strong as it once was.

I liked the fact that this book didn’t drag on ~ we weren’t left wondering for 5 or 6 chapters what happened during their time apart or will they/won’t they get back together.

This is a completely different story to The Gallos ~ so don’t be expecting pages full of steamy sex scenes (Evan’s sexploits are great though!!).

ARC received in exchange for an honest review!

This one is one that will suck you in thanks to the two characters Evie and Jack. You start reading their story with right away you become anxious because you know that this is soon to be a second chance story with it drilling a hole in your heart and filling it up with the emotions that will pour off the pages. Other characters like her bestie will keep your attention too. I will say that at times the leading up to moment after first contact you get impatient because you want to get into it so you can know what happened to begin with. It does unravel with bit by bit coming out what happened and where they go filling you also with the magic of them. By the time you get to the end of this one though I would like to see his partner come into his next lol.

Mend is a sweet second chance romance about Jack and Evie who were high school sweethearts who were seperated when Evie's dad gets transferred to Germany. The two made promises to wait for each other but after a mysterious letter from Evie telling Jack to move on and forget about her, breaks his heart... and now six years later when he finally sees Eve again, all he can think about is that she is still his.

As truths are revealed, the two reconnect and find that their love for one another is stronger than ever.

I really loved how sweet Jack was and how easily they forgave and stood by each other even through some tragedy.

I really enjoyed Mend and it's a quick and easy read about true love and second chances.

This was such a fun, sweet read. I love a good second chance romance, and this one did not disappoint. Jack and Evie fell in love in eighth grade, love-at-first-sight for both of them, and spent every moment they possibly could together. A year before they were to graduate high school, Evie’s father gets orders to Germany and he couple must part ways. They vow to wait for each other, but things don’t always happen the way you plan. Six years later, they run into each other again, and feelings that never went away resurface. Jack and Evie must decide to forgive the past and look toward the future. I absolutely enjoyed this story, and I’m desperately hoping for Cameron’s story.
