This book contains foul language and lowbrow humor, if these offend you, you've been warned!
A serial killer is targeting the supernatural population of Branson and it’s up to James Marius, the Praetor of the Ozarks region, to stop them. With his people in danger and the threat of an ancient enemy arising, Marius must depend on new allies; a foul-mouthed, bass singing gnome and a killer from a bygone age to help stop his enemies from raising Hell in the Holler.
But watch out for portals. They may take you somewhere different. Adventures are wonderful when you are doing what you love, but unless you have powers and friends, things can end badly. Make your own weapons work best for winning at games or life. But always have a healer and twin advisers.
I gave this book of 5 star rating Because I'm almost peed myself laughing so hard I haven't laughed this hard in long time I heard they could even breathe There are many parts of it that was enjoyable But there are parts that were just out right awesome.
Some parts for childish Some parts were play on words. And the story was a fun read
So, I am going to venture a guess and say there are provable real-world people that Andrew, Joe, and Ray are based on. Two are likely brothers and the Andrew analog likely has a delicate stomach.
The reason for my a assumption is that this book takes a unique idea amd crams it full of things that have to be inside jokes. Either that, or the author has a very odd and juvenile sense of humor and way too many in depth descriptions of passing gas.
Fart jokes aside, at the heart of this story is the question "What if the chosen heroes say no?" I wish the story had explored that a little more, but something had to go to make room for the poop jokes.
The book was readable the writing was very good but I honestly did not like it that much. The humor was extremely juvenile and I didn't find it all that funny. The so-called battles were way too easy there was no real struggle for the guys. I like the concept of the book but not the book itself and if you're expecting litrpg you won't get it here this is more gamelit there's no stats no leveling up.
