Rate this book
Clare has just started her first year in High School and just made her first friend. An outgoing 9th-grade student name Sherry. At first, things seem great and normal between them. They share some of the same interests. But when Sherry starts telling Clare outrages tales of famous celebrities visiting her between classes Clare realizes she is off her rocker. At first, she plays along with her for the sake of making the school year more interesting. Then Sherry begins to tell Clare bizarre stories of some of the popular kids in school. And Clare doesn’t know whether to doubt her stories or believe the things she’s saying especially when they involve her as well! Obsessed with popularity and the desire to be liked by others, Clare is drawn to the tales and can’t help but listen to Sherry’s outrages stories no matter how peculiar they seem to become.
Until one day, Sherry starts telling Clare about an alcoholic Assistant principal who beats on his daughter and is up to get her, Clare is drawn further into Sherry’s dark and twisted world. Plagued by strange calls and the occasional principals’ eyes watching her at every corner of the School. Clare can’t help but feel alive with importance for the first time in her life.
And the people she once saw as characters in a tale spawn by a silly ninth-grader, start staking her, quickly she finds herself falling down into a world she no longer has any control over.
Soon the once shy ninth grader and loner, finds herself unable to escape, nor can she tell what is real any longer.
And now with Clare, the story was clear, the tale takes a twisted turn, one she didn’t anticipate and one that has the power to change her young life.
