Moira Wicked and Liam Good have finally gotten married and are ready to start their life together. Halloween is fast approaching in Charm Cove, Maine, so Moira takes her twin cousins to pick out pumpkins. When a murder occurs in the local pumpkin patch and Celia finds the body, it is up to Moira to solve the case. Who would want to kill Vernon Smitty? When Mrs. Smitty says “it has to be one of the witches”, the police chief is stumped as to where to start his investigation.

Just like the previous books in this series, the book is well-written and was a fast enjoyable read. You have a little bit of everything from mystery, supernatural, suspense, humor, and even a tad bit of romance.

When a body is found in the pumpkin patch, newlywed witch Moira with the help of her husband Liam, help solve the mystery. Can be read as a stand-alone but is so much better if you have read other books in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I cannot give a single bad review to any of the books in this series, they are all so very well written and keep you guessing till the very end. Pumpkin Patch Murder did not disappoint , not only do I love the mystery, the bit of romance but also all the fun and sometimes quirky characters that help bring these stories together. The scenery also pulls you in and makes you want to go visit this lovely town, its quaint shops, beautiful homes and of course the people. Every time a new book is released in this series I jump at a chance to read it, they are so entertaining and if you love a good Cozy Mystery with a little romance, a tight knit community and of course some mayhem this book as well as the others in the series are not to be missed. Each book is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone. Do yourself a favor and read them all, you won"t be disappointed!

Pumpkin Patch Murder #7 - This quickly read murder mystery is a good addition to this series. It takes place about two months after M&L married. As always the author blend the old and new storylines into an interesting read, while the characters entertain the reader with their lives, oh and solving the murder. There is definitely a good bit of romance in air. There is an overview and a peek at a new series related to this one. I found this author and her books on Booksprout. 4*

Wicked Good Series:
Destiny's A Witch #1 - I like this book better than Witch You Wouldn't Believe and Witch is When it Gets Crazy. The witches and warlocks are likable and their dialog realistic. I'm happy to see a male is called a warlock instead of witch (PC is so stupid with the sexes). Well written, clean but with sexual attraction makes this story entertaining. Add mischievous teenage witches, nosy friends and family on top of family pressure to do the Destiny thing, while determining if a death was an accident or a murder, leaves the main characters in all types of states. Never mind if there's a second chance for them or it is Destiny, there's a lot of happenings. Pretty good story without the usual stupid drama found in a lot of this genre. 4*

Hex Me Not #2 - Another interesting book in the Wicked Good Mystery Series. The witches and warlocks are still likable, interesting and entertaining. The background storylines continue while the main mystery keeps the reader immersed in the quickly read, well thought plot. The story moves along a steady moving pace, is clean and without the usual stupid drama found in a lot of books of this genre. There's an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a book is about before I read it. I found this book on Booksprout. 4*

Spells and Silver Bells #3 - Another good addition to the Wicked Good Mystery series! I found this book more intriguing and suspenseful than its predecessors. The characters are interesting and likable, and the regulars steady grow along with the stories. The storylines, original and new, are interesting and intelligent. This book is a bit more substantial and took a bit longer to figure out the villains, but I did miss the main reason, which was.... There's an overview, which I appreciate knowing about a book before I read it. These books can be read out of sequence, but the storylines are build from the first book on, although all are standalones, no cliffhangers. I contacted the author to review her books and received this through Booksprout. 4*

The Great Maple Caper #4 - Pretty good mystery and plenty of "when is the wedding". The storylines contain a few kinks and an addition of a rather nice character (my favorite over many). The twins are still being themselves and trying to help investigate as well as solve a puzzle. All the characters are performing their duties while the ladies keep asking "when is the wedding?", driving Moira nuts. I like the sexual tension that's between Moira and HISNAME; it's not about body parts and hot this and hot that, but what is felt. The reader knows the power of their love without the trash aspect and inyourfacecontinuously. More of the powers of the witch families are revealed while trying to solve the mystery. The pace is fast and the descriptions keep the reader immersed in the story. There's humor and a good dose of suspense, rather well done. There's an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a book is about before I read it. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 4*

Oopsy Daisy #5 – Entertaining and intriguing and filled with pretty flowers, OK may be too many pretty flowers. Fast paced with plenty of humor and intrigue, along with more questions about the wedding, this was a quickly read book. The characters are good and believable and the mystery they work together on is kinda funny. It is hard to write a review on this series without turning it into a book report. Try to read them sequentially, but standalone works well, too. There are only a couple of series that I really enjoy about witches and this is one of them. I contacted the author to review her books and received this one through Booksprout. 4*

Siren Song Gone Wrong #6 – This story follows a different track since there are no murders in this mystery, which was interesting and made for an enjoyable read. Not going to talk about the wedding plans, you will have to find out for yourself. The author does her usual good job with her writing style and good descriptions and interesting characters. While not necessary, it is worth reading the complete series from the first book. There is an overview of the story, which I appreciate knowing what a book is about before I read it. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 4*

Another Excellent Visit to Charm Cove

I don't know how many books I have read in Lucy May’s Charm Cove series, but I have found every one of them a delight. I love seeing a new book in the series pop up at my favorite book review site. No matter how busy I am, I have to pick it up. One of the things that I appreciated about this story was that the murder happened right at the beginning, before the 10% mark. It is definitely a danger with cozy mysteries, delaying the murderer or the crime and filling much of the first part of the book with a look at the quirky community that cozy mysteries always have. I have seen the murder take place as late as almost to 50% mark, though that is extreme. But having such a crucial moment in a murder mystery take place so late doesn't allow time for the mystery to develop. But that doesn't happen here. We're two months past the Wicked-Good wedding, and the newlyweds are embroiled in the murder because the two girls that they had taken to a pumpkin patch found the dead body. So the whole gang gets involved in this murder, though it is apparently not magical in nature. The book had some good twists and turns, which I love in a mystery. The cozy part was not ignored either, and I enjoy watching the interactions of the Charm Cove residents. I like that the author is able to write description in such a way that she places you there in the scenes, but it doesn't seem like it is too much. Another enjoyable trip to Charm Cove.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Moira Wicked and Liam Good have started their married life together, but that doesn’t mean that all is well in Charm Cove, Maine. With All Hallows Eve quickly approaching, Moira heads off to meet Liam and pick out a pumpkin with her twin teenage cousins, only for Celia to find a dead body in the pumpkin patch -- and Moira is right in the thick of things again!

They identified the body as Vernon Smitty. Someone had hit him over the head. Daniel Levesque, Charm Cove’s police chief, along with two of his deputies, interviewed everyone and asked them to return to the police station. Mrs. Smitty ran in and immediately accused “one of those witches” of the crime, an odd remark for someone who denied the supernatural. Where will the police chief begin his search? For the moment, there seems to be nowhere to begin looking!

This is such a terrific series that is so much fun to read! If you’re a fan from the start of the series, the characters of the town are old friends to the reader by now. The story lines keep getting better, keeping the reader on high alert as unexplainable things happen all around. This murder is a touch different since it doesn’t appear to be magical. Get your copy and see if you can sort out the murderer before Moira and her friends can, and be ready to be surprised!

Great addition to this wonderful series.
This is a quick murder mystery with the usual mayhem that you expect with our characters.
Wonderful well written plot and as always love the little dots of humour involved.
Loving the characters that are fleshed out so well and love their interactions with each other.
Brilliant read.

Hi Ghost! I love the 'trick' in this book. I was actually thinking that could be at the beginning . So since my brain was thinking that not everything is as it seems , I was able to figure out who done it early on. Did get a little surprise in my theory.

Always a fun, extremely enjoyable and easy to read story. always happy to see a new book by this author. You will too. I did not realize how much I enjoy this series till I read one. there is an excerpt for a book in January 2020 and I do not think that I can wait that long to read it. It has me so intrigued. January 2020 come now!!!

You may read this book before reading the rest of the series and follow the story line fine. I highly recommend reading the series, not only will you love it , but getting to know the characters and all the family dynamics is great. Warning though: if you plan to do so and do not want to know some of the who done it from previous books then be careful with this one. There are a few references that could give you the answer ahead of reading them.

This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book

Halloween is coming to Charm Cove and with it more than the usual trick or treats. Moira Wicked and her Husband Liam Good take her twin nieces to the pumpkin patch to find their pumpkins for Halloween. Unfortunately the twins find a dead man instead. Now the Wickeds and the Goods help the police to try and find the murderer so Halloween can go back to being fun again.

This is another great addition to the Wicked Good Mystery Series. It is a delightfully whimsical cozy paranormal mystery with zany characters and storyline full of creative magic. The characters are so vibrant they seem to pop off the page. The narrative and dialogue are great. It has a whimsical feel that you can only get from touristy small towns filled with kooky characters, creative town events and magic. The mystery itself is filled its surprises, twists, dangers and unexpected turns that keep you engaged until the end. This is another wonderful cozy mystery from a great series. If you enjoy paranormal cozy mysteries then give this series a try.

The Pumpkin Patch Murder by Lucy May is another great cozy mystery from Charming Cove.  Ms. May, weaves together multiple plots smoothly, moving from light suspense to laughter of the antics of the loveable, eccentric witchy citizens of Charming Cove.

Halloween is approaching and the newlyweds, Moira and Liam, take their twin cousins out to the Pumpkin Patch to get a pumpkin or two or more.  Almost immediately the twins find a dead body.  Practically before the police can start investigating, the victim's wife starts telling everyone that one of those witches killed her husband -- Strange accusations from someone who has always denied the existence of witches.  As things progress, a piece of construction equipment vanishes. Is this connected to the Murder? The more the investigation of the murder continues, the more strange things come to light. Are they all connected, or just coincidence.

Again, this series gets five stars for keeping me interested and entertained in a fun and relaxing cozy manner. Remember, you can expect anything and everthing to involve a Wicked or a Good.

A town full of magical people with a few normal people thrown in make this a very interesting story. Moira and her husband Liam, have taken twin magical girls, Celia and Delia, to the Pumpkin patch to find pumpkins. Little did they know it they would find more than just pumpkins. When one of the twins scream they all run to find out why. A dead body in the pumpkin patch was more than they bargained for when they went to get pumpkins. The deceased just happens to be one of the normal folk in town. Moira can't resist trying to figure things out but she isn't the only one. It seems like most of the witches and warlocks of the Good and Wicked Families will jump in to find out the truth about what happened. They will uncover information that will give the truth hunt a couple of good twists and turns. This is a unique story in the respect that it involves so many coming together to solve the mystery. It makes it a very enjoyable read.

I love a good cozy mystery, and Lucy May never disappoints. This is an awesome series that just keeps getting better and better. It's fun, good, and wickedly entertaining. Each book can be read as a stand alone, but it is a progressive story that refers back to events that happened in previous books. The series itself is great, so if you have not read the series yet, I honestly believe you should go back and start from the beginning.

Awesome recurring characters, fantastic detailed descriptions, awesome story line, and a clean, cozy, romance. Written in 1st person .

All in all, a great read!

Would I recommend this book? Absolutely!

Would I read more from this author? Absolutely

Even to families like the Smittys who pretend to know nothing about the paranormal world, it is pretty clear that Charm Cove is magical. That does not prevent discord though.

When a trip to a local pumpkin patch ends with the twins finding a body, murder is definitely afoot- and no magical mistakes involved.

Mrs. Smitty, a local long time teacher, claims the witches must have something to do with the death of her husband. Since he was bashed on the head, a more mundane explanation is likely.

The Goods, the Wickeds and extended friends and family assist with finding clues and suspects. Some added romance adds additional twists to the story.

Charm Cove is really a wicked good place to live! Awesome KU mystery and romantic adventure story- with a touch of paranormal!

Moira Wicked and Liam Good are married, and looking forward to their first Halloween as husband and wife. When they go to pick out a pumpkin with Moira's teenage cousins, the girls discover a body in the pumpkin patch. It seems that he has been hit on the head with a blunt object, so it is probably not a magical murder - but what does it have to do with a stolen crane? I loved the twists in this story - Charm Cove always has something happening! Any of these books can be read as a stand alone, but all of them have bis and pieces that connect them to earlier books - besides, who would want to miss out on one of these great tales?

As you know from the previous books, Moira and Liam had to get married to to keep peace between the Good and Wicked families. Now newlyweds, they are settling into married life, until........................A trip to the pumpkin patch with the twins. What do they find among the pumpkins? A dead body. The deceased's wife is blaming his death on "those witches". So here they go again another murder to solve, at least this one doesn't have anything to do with magic, despite what the wife thinks. Another great book, they are more fun if you read them in order, but you don't have to. I love Charm Cove and hope the next series is just as good.

This book picks up 2 months after Moira and Liam's wedding. They take the twins to the Pumpkin Patch to get pumpkins for home and the twins. They never thought the twins would find a dead body.
There hasn't been a murder in Charming Cove in a long time. This is a non-magical murder.
With no real clues or clear cut suspects, Moira and gang decide to help investigate the crime. They find a few suspects, they will slowly find their way to the truth. They were not expecting the person they found to be the one who did the deed.

This was an entertaining read, look forward to another book in this series

murder magic and mayhem

If you have followed this series you will already know all the characters and be familiar with the sort of mayhem that is to be found when things go wrong in Charm cove If you are not familiar with them then this is still a charming magical ( sort of ) murder mystery story Not quiet so much tension in this story as it doesn't have a direct bearing on our favourite families but still a great read for who dun it fans and Charm Cove fans alike

The Wicked and Food families are back. Yay!!!! Most the the books have been light mysteries, so I was surprised there was an actual murder. It was a welcomed surprise. I was glad that Daniel had a case to solve that didn't involve magic. That being said, Moira and her family came through as usual. They are hilarious, especially the twins, and I'm glad to learn about her brothers. I was surprised that Nathan is in a budding relationship and hope that we hear more about it.

This witchy mystery continues the stories of the Wicked family and the Good family. This book stands alone quite well. The reader will enjoy the story more by reading these books in order and having the full perspective of what has happened before. I love this series and am excited to hear that there will be a spin-off series. I received this ARC book for free from Booksprouts and this is my honest review.

Yet again Moira finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation in Charm Cove! Down in the pumpkin patch in the run up to All Hallows Eve!

I do love my little sojourns to Charm Cove and this is no exception, you are given just enough clues to keep you guessing.

Highly recommend this book, it is a nice quick read and there is nothing like an escape to a magical cove where the Wicked are Good and the Good are lovely (sometimes?!)

For the first time in a long while there is a murder in Charm Cove. Daniel is busy, trying to solve the case and not always appreciating the help he receives from his witchy family. Still Moira and her gang help wherever they can. In addition to the murder case there is a new face in town, and a new romance blooming.
Like all the other stories set in Charm Cove, charming and entertaining.
