It was a normal day, until Morgan and every other kid in her high school were sucked aboard an alien spaceship and dumped on an entirely new planet. No explanation, no field guide, and no rules.
And human beings aren’t the only new arrivals.
Morgan’s never been a team player, and she never imagined facing disaster with a bunch of confused, terrified teenagers. To live she’ll have to make allies—human and otherwise. Because Morgan has no intention of settling down and starting anew somewhere else. Whoever brought her here can bring her back. But first, she must survive.

More like three and a half, but not quite a four for me.

It was an ordinary day for Morgan until her high school was kidnapped by aliens! Except Morgan wasn't exactly ordinary with a father who was a hardcore prepper starting the day with a fire alarm. Morgan had stopped buying into her father's paranoia until she landed on another world, and suddenly needed that knowledge.

Morgan turned out to be smart, brave, and resourceful. She did what was necessary, even when the other kids ignored her advice, and goofed off. The kids being disorganized, and wasteful, seemed realistic to me, though not exactly pleasant to read through.

Most of the book was an adventure that moved quickly. There were some fun surprises, and I liked the direction the story took. It ended at a logical stopping point, not exactly a cliffhanger, but with plenty of story left to tell.

Cliff hanger ending.

Initially I (mentally) rolled my eyes at the extreme far fetched beginning, with a high school worth of teens being sucked up into an alien spacecraft to be dumped into an earth-like world, for reasons unknown, but after that the story became fascinating. The story builds up to an exciting point, then ends. There are too many unanswered questions, leaving me hanging. I need to search for the next book; hopefully this story does continue on.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It had really interesting worldbuilding and a solid plot that moved at a fast clip.

I really wish it had been longer, or that the sequel was immediately available, as, while the ending makes sense, it is rather abrupt and wasn't as satisfactory as I had hoped.

This was okay. I am not sure about it since it feels unfinished. It also came out in 2019 so I am not sure if the author is going to continue with the series. The story follows a 17-year-old girl who is the daughter of a survivalist/end of the world prepper. She gets into a fight with her dad because she doesn't want to hear about his nonsense and goes to school. The school is then abducted by aliens, and they are brought to a sanctuary of sorts. They don't know why they were taken or what they are supposed to do. Her skills are in high demand but some of the other kids with her aren't taking thing seriously. There is some high school drama mixed in. That is pretty much the first half of the book. The second half is completely different.

I wasn't enjoying the teen angst and Lord of the Flies aspect of the story at the start, almost putting it on my DNF shelf. But I really liked the direction the story took after that, with exploration and other races.

I will be looking for later books in the series...

Oh well

This has a major cliffhanger that caught me off guard. Also when I looked up the next book it says fall of 2019. I have a major pet peeve when there is a huge cliffhanger with no release date of the next book. This leaves me to wonder did I waste my time reading a story I will never see end. That is such a shame because it was a intense story with lots of drama that pulls you in.

It's prolly my 1st time reading a novel that has an end message "The End. Thanks for reading!" lol. It made me feel i've read a wattpad novel. Hahaha. How cute😆

------
The 1st few part of the novel doesn't make any sense to me but I think I enjoyed the journey of Morgan (the human) and Alphonzikk (the raptor, and Al for short) on an Earth-like planet. I think this would be enjoyable to read if I'm 13-16 yrs old 😆. Nevertheless, the book is not too good, not too bad, just right. 👌

Fantasy reading 📚

Due to eye issues Alexa reads to me, a will written fantasy Sci-Fi thriller novella. The characters are interesting and will developed. The story line is fast moving with violence as the main character attempts to survive on a strange world. I would recommend this novella to readers of fantasy. Enjoy reading 🔰2021 😮

Great Story

This was a great book, lively story....I loved the premise of kids being taken to spontaneously Colonize a world. I was thrilled to see on the cover that it would be a series...But it died. Could you please tell me why it didn't live past Book 1?
Can someone tell me?

Han Solo and Chewie Part II.

Well written book that serves as a jump off point to the rest if the series. My one complaint is there was not enough buildup of the two main characters and the development of their relationship. However, it was an interesting enough read to see the two different species becoming good friends and not just allies.

It starts out as ** story, probably mostly because the writer seems to be having difficulty to get around to the real story.

The real story is a bit slow in the begining, but really gets warmed up, because it focuses on the main character. And then it turns into a *** story. The surprising introduction of another character and the ensuing interaction with out hero improves both the story and the writing. Along with the slow revelations of what is really happening this suddenly turns (pun intended) it into a page turner.

It think it could have been a **** story if it had started somewhat better and if it had been longer. It stops rather abruptly and the follow up haven't been seen yet.

Well-written but...

Cliffhanger alert!
It's not a complete story. Wonderful description of another planet and lifeforms and dramatic situations. Really pulls you in. But it's not resolved- I'm so invested and annoyed. So many questions unanswered!

Entertaining

I gave the book five stars because I really did enjoy it. I was looking for a fun book and I picked well. Kind of a cliffhanger, but I can live with one every once in awhile. I read this book straight through and it all went smoothly.

A good book for tthe Young Adult

I actually enjoyed reading this book even if it was written for young people. I would recommend it to my grandchildren who are old enough. The world building didn't get in the way of the plot, and ended on a cliff hanger.

This book should be classified as Young Adult. Where was the proofreader? So many typos. Also, two glaring apostrophe errors in the first 30 pages.

Very good start

For young adolescents this book follows a teenage girl during a harrowing journey and a period of coming to realize some hard truths. New species, new world and lots of mystery and conflict. Looking forward to the next book. Only criticism is the simple way that the other characters are portrayed. Less shades of gray than reality has. I look forward to the authors character growth as well as her protagonists.

Colonize by S.G. Seabourne was a fantastic twist on the Young Adult Dystopian genre. The book was a nice mix of adventure, action, and dystopian, with a pinch of Young Adult Romance thrown in for good measure.

Though I ran across multiple typos, for the most part, these were small and easy to skip over. Overall, the book was well-written. I loved the characters, what little we got to know of most of them, and the world-building was imaginative and interesting. I was engaged by the plot and particularly the budding friendship between Al and Morgan.

My only real qualm is that the book ended too abruptly. It felt unfinished and the plot arch went uncompleted. Still, I really enjoyed the book and I’m glad to have read it. I am looking forward to reading more in the series, and by this author.

Morgan is one of 500 teenagers from her high school that were kidnapped by an alien spaceship (we don't meet the aliens) and dumped on a strange planet that was terraformed with earth plants and animals. She has had survival training and puts it to use. Morgan discovers other plants and animals and sentient beings that were transported from other planets and she befriends a feather covered velociraptor like being named Al and they travel together to find other sentient beings that hopefully have answers. They meet other beings, have trials, tribulations and don't finish their expedition. At least until the next book in the series comes out which should be out soon. Still, even without the next book available, it is a good read.

Cliffhanger

Well written, and usually descriptions lose my interest but this was very well thought out. Character development was good. Honestly was looking for the next one and was disappointed with the cliffhanger, otherwise a decent read. Following this author!

I received this book from the author. Thank you, it was entertaining.
Not sure who this book was written for. Young adult is the closest but contained references to sex, drinking and violence. The idea is kind of old hat, teens kidnapped from school, put aboard a spaceship, travel through a wormhole and finally dumped on a new planet without further explanation. Yippie, twilight zone. Except the author happens to be a very good storyteller and keeps you interested to the end.

Really enjoyed!

I really liked this book. I mean, it's a new interesting twist to alien kidnapping, but that was what made it interesting. I fully look forward to book two because I have to know what happens next!
