A native New Yorker, Chris Keniston was on her way to Australia when she fell in love with North Texas. Little did she know the balmy seventy-degree October days would turn into fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk heat in August!

Twenty years later, she started scribbling short stories about her favorite TV shows, giving them lives more to her liking - and the elusive happy ending. Not long after, a dear friend dragged her to a local writers’ meeting. After winning multiple writing contests and making the finals in the Romance Writers of America’s prestigious Golden Heart contest, she now spends her days, and nights, writing contemporary romantic fiction with lots of emotion, plenty of surprises, and, of course, the happily ever after.

Chris lives in suburban Dallas with her husband, two human children, and two canine children. Though she loves her puppies equally, she admits being especially attached to her German Shepherd rescue named Gunny. After all, even dogs deserve a happily ever after.

Hyacinth goes by Cindy and is the town vet. Cindy loves her small town and all the animals. As always it is nice to catch up with the General’s family in Lawson. I think the General knows a little more about what is going on than he lets on. Especially with Alan who is not only a mystery guest at the lodge, but a murder/mystery writer. Alan turns out to be a nice guy who has a soft spot for animals, which is how he meets Cindy. There are some funny scenes in the book that had me laughing. I liked Cindy and Alan together and getting to know each other. It is funny how people react when a well known person is in town! I enjoyed the book, and encourage you to read it.

Hyacinth (Hart Land Book 5) by: Chris Keniston

A beautifully unique name as captivating as the woman who wears it. Hyacinth is no ordinary love story. Keniston blends heartfelt, emotion with fearless, determination and creates an unforgettable story. Hyacinth may look like an angel, but reads like a warrior. No fight is too big or small, when it comes to helping an animal or protecting her family. Alan is her total opposite, but he could end up being her perfect fit. Encased within a sweetly crafted tale are a few life lessons and an abundance of heart.

Hyacinth: Hart Land Book 5 is by Chris Keniston. Cindy’s story is told in this book. Cindy is the sister of Lily, Poppy and Callie. Cindy is a dedicated veterinarian.
Cindy was leaving the One Stop when a driver spun out of the drive and hit a fox. Cindy immediately grabbed her kit and ran to see if she could help the fox. As she got to the fox, a kit ran out to check on his mama. Now Cindy’s problem was two fold- catch the kit and get him out of the way, and check the mama. Luckily Katie from the store dropped what she was doing to help. When she got them to the clinic, she found the mama was going to be just fine but needed a couple of days in the clinic. She was glad because she had neither the skills nor the room to try to raise the kit so it could go back into the wild. Now she had a couple of days to find the father or other kits. When she did, she would take the mother and baby and turn them into the wild near the Father and other siblings and hope they accepted her back into the family.

Alan Peterson was hiding out in the cabins. His agent told him to try the lake resort to help him get over his writer’s block. He hadn’t gone anywhere except One Stop only once in a while, mostly he had things delivered. The girls were worried and if he didn’t come out, they would break-in to see if he was OK. He was at One Stop when Cindy released the Mother fox. They began talking and formed a friendship.
Could she be the one for him? Was he the one she had been waiting for? And both without her Grandmother’s or Lucy’s interference.

This family and their stories just makes me feel good!

All the Hart cousins are so different and have been matched well in this series. Hyacinth's story has so much humor, I found myself laughing especially in the beginning when Alan was acting out a scene from his murder mystery.

Hyacinth by Chris Keniston
Hyacinth by Chris Keniston is the fifth book in a brand new series Hart Land. The series is based on the small town of Lawford (in NH) with the General (Harold Hart) and his wife, Fiona. They have nine single granddaughters who one by one will find their own love. Lucy the housekeeper is bound and determined to be matching them all up, but she is an accident waiting to happen. The General and Fiona run a small hospitality business with cabins, with their house full of people and laughter.

Hyacinth is the town vet and is kind and caring. She wants to help all animals even the wild ones, so she is trying to come up with funds for a new wildlife center. Meanwhile, she is doing the best she can in keeping animals safe.Alan Peterson has secluded himself in a small cottage. He is determined to finish writing his book, hoping the seclusion will help him. So when a wild animal runs into his cottage, he calls for help and Hyacinth comes and rescues a Maine Coon Cat from under his bed. From here the story adds kittens and other furry friends while Alan is determined to help Hyacinth gain money for her shelter.

Some funny things happen with the animals and Alan’s method for writing. The book was a fun read and I found myself chuckling with Alan’s antics. Chris Keniston’s books are sweet and fun love stories that warm your heart and lighten your soul. Hyacinth might be my favorite of the Hart Land series so far.

Another winner in Hart Land. All these women are so very close.
Cousins/sisters. They’re always helping each other out.

Hyacinth is a veterinarian and has a heart of gold.
She wants to build a sanctuary for all animals.
I just love that. When she’s called to check out a situation
at one of the cabins at Hart Land she’s not sure what she’s up against. It’s where a man is saying and has been pretty secretive since his arrival.
He seems nice enough Upon her arrival. She sees something that has her nervous to say the least. Well that’s until she finds out what he’s doing. Who he really is.
He was worried about an animal so he can’t be all bad.

Alan wants peace and quiet. He needs to finish his book. When an animal comes into the cabin. That when he meets Dr. Cindy Nelson.
What wasn’t staying long is was just to finish his book. But then he wasn’t expecting two things. Dr. Cindy Nelson and two kittens that changed things.

A sweet, and heartwarming book. Laugh out loud.
One scene when a dinner is ruined, but Alan saves the day.

Must read. Buy to see what happens..

Don’t forget-
Heather
Violet
Lily
Iris

All really stand-alone. It’s fun to read them in order.
Not a dull moment at Hart Land. All full of fun, laughter, family and love.

This series is turning into something special. Each story is self contained but builds on the others. The cousins are as close as sisters & each boyfriend/fiancée is absorbed in as a full member. No in-laws in this family. The interactions between the characters are full of emotion, wit, humor & affection. The love of family is interspersed in every line & conversation.

Hyacinth (Cindy) is a veterinarian for the town. She’s been able to treat almost everything but sees the need for an animal rehabilitation facility. Her first interaction with Alan leads to a misconception. She starts out thinking he’s a criminal but soon realizes her error. As they spend time together she begins to want more.

Alan came to Hart Land for seclusion to finish his latest murder mystery. He was having trouble with writers block. He had to tell Cindy his secret after she caught him in two compromising scenes. Once he met Cindy & started interacting with her family & the town, the story ideas come faster than he can write them down. As he’s drawn more & more into the town, he discovers he feels more for Cindy than friendship.

Chris Keniston is the queen of sweet, clean and adorable romance! Her books will pull you in like a soft breeze on a hot summer day. You won't want to put it down and won't want it to end.

Grandpa Hart is determined to see each of his granddaughters settled and happily married. With a matchmaking housekeeper, a town full of busy bodies, a handsome cabin renter, and a couple of sweet kittens, his next granddaughter won't stand a chance.

Local vet Hyacinth 'Cindy' Nelson is called out to one of her grandparents rental cabins when a tenant reports a mountain lion in his bedroom. So begins the entertaining story of Cindy and Alan, a writer with writers block in need of a muse. Alan is quickly smitten with the smart and feisty veterinarian, and it isn't long before the small town and the sweet girl have both worked their way into his heart.

I received an ARC and voluntarily offer this review.

Alan has been secluded in a Hart Land cabin for almost a month working on a new mystery. When he believes that a wild animal has entered his home, Alan calls for help. Cindy, the town veterinarian, responds and is surprised at what she finds. This is the start of a sweet, clean, and humorous romance set in a small New England town. I don't want to spoil the story but describing it further. I received a free copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This book is a wonderful treasure and a joy to read. The animals that Cindy treats as well as Alan’s unusual approach to writing add many humorous moments. I love this book and finished it in one day. I recommend this good light read.

Up in the furthest cabin the guest that had been there for almost a month hadn’t come out once. No one had seen him. So when there was a call to get a wild animal from his cabin it was the talk of the town. With all sorts of wild twist on what happened, when Cindy the local vet went to retrieve the animal. When Cindy received a call from him again she was surprised. The following day again, but she seemed to be looking forward to having him call about the newly acquired animal. Slowly Cindy helped Alan get out of his work block and he was able to focus on his work while also spending time with her.

I love coming back to Hart Land! Each story, as I'm reading them, becomes my favorite! These stories are sweet, humorous and I settle right in to each one, like I'm revisiting old friends!

This story involves Hyacinth and Alan. She's a veterinarian and he's an author. He's renting a place so he can get through his dry spell of writing. One day a critter that growls comes racing into his place and he has no idea what to do. He makes a phone call and what shows up to rescue him from the beast, is Hyacinth.

I loved their story! They were a match made in heaven!! It's always wonderful to visit with characters from previous books in this series!!

I think this is my favourite book in the series so far! I read it without stopping in one afternoon because I couldn’t put it down. I laughed at the feisty goose, the escaped goats and the spitting camel, a story with animals has to be a keeper. The growing attraction between Cindy & Alan made for a wonderful love story. I was gifted an advanced reader copy and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book. I recommend it, it can be read as a stand alone but I do recommend the whole series.

Hyacinth is the new book in the Hart Land series. This has been a wonderful series and this story is even sweeter and funnier than the past ones. I started out laughing out loud in chapter one and feeling warm fuzzies all the way through the book. What can go wrong with a veterinarian and a mysterious mystery writer plus a whole bunch of little animals – in particular two kittens. You will love the story and all the characters that show up like the general and Mrs. Hart and Lucy, the housekeeper/matchmaker. If you like a very funny story with lots of animals then this book is for you.

Alan is a writer with write’s block. On a suggestion from his grandfather, he takes a cabin at Hart Land in hopes of getting back to writing.

Hyacinth is the local vet, and granddaughter of the owner of Hart Land. She gets called to rescue Alan from a 4-footed interloper in his cabin. He gets a chance to help her with her dream, a wildlife rescue center. Along the way, they discover much much more in the way of mutual attraction.

This was a great addition to the Hart Land saga. I especially liked seeing the writer open up to the love of kittens and all things Hart. Great read, Chris!

This book in the Hart Land series is my favorite so far. The characters are believable and the story moves along at a good pace. Alan and Hyacinth had me laughing throughout the book with the situations they get into along with the rest of the families reactions. The small town setting stays true to its roots so I loved the interactions with the rest of the town as well. The hint of romance was great and matched the chemistry between the characters. Would absolutely recommend this book and the entire series!

Another wonderful read in the Hart Land series. Hyacinth knows her strengths and weaknesses and is not expecting any real help from the writer holed up in one of the cabins. Alan is blocked and hopes being in a cabin away from the world will help the words flow once again. A large creature in the cabin sets their paths to collide. I love how generous Alan is. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
