Meet the Palmer Sisters: six women, one man, their relationships with one another, and their crazy love lives. These books are short, sweet, and oh, so dirty.
Recently divorced, Lainie Palmer-Bottoms is a woman on a mission—a mission to jump-start her romance writing career with a sexy novel about a badass biker gang.
Keeton Gustafson is a badass biker dude and owner of Gustafson Custom Motorcycles. He's also Lainie Palmer-Bottoms's muse. The thing is, the second Keeton gets a look at the curvy beauty, it's him that's inspired.
At their first encounter, they discover they need each other. She needs research material for her novel. He needs to do her on his desk. Can two people from different worlds find common ground? Keeton thinks so, but Lainie’s not so sure.
Each book is a stand-alone with a HEA but because the stories overlap and intertwine, it’s best to read them in order. Due to coarse language and sexual content, this book is suitable for readers 18+.
I have a weakness. I admit it. If I stumble across a BBW romance, I automatically borrow it. Yes, I know there's alot of not-great BBW rom books out in the world, but I figure you gotta sift through alot of rocks to find those nuggets of gold. Welp. This is not that book.
It's insta-love (I'm ok with that), but there's barely a story and very shallow character development (not as ok with this). Lainie is a BBW heroine (well, barely but I'll go with it) and Keeton is a typical alpha hero. I struggled with the fact that she's a virgin divorcee, the ex is set up as a ridiculous villain, only to fade away. Overall, it's a standard quick and easy read that doesn't tax your brain cells and will fill some time while real life is hectic. The extra star for this story, though? It's about the sisters' relationship. There's some genuine chemistry between them and the saving grace for the series.
I'm going to keep trying to give it a shot...because I am hoping that I finally find a nugget among one of them. Crossing fingers.
So I didn't really know what to expect. This was just supposed to be some light reading before bed. I could not put the book down. I loved both Male and female leads. The romance was just that! It wasn't an erotica but definitely made me blush and raise an eyebrow. I cant wait for Violets story and Eric's and Keelys. New fan here!
This was a sweet and funny story. Nothing too heavy or deep, but a good way to spend an afternoon. One of the things that I loved the most was Lainie's attitude. Most of the time bigger girls in books are either self loathing or kind of cocky and off putting. Lainie is a little different. For the most part she is happy with herself or a least working to be. While she is a little shy and timid she doesn't refuse to let Keeton touch her or anything. She does have moments of insecurities though and to me that makes her very relatable.
The whole ex husband thing was a little weird though and quite anticlimactic. I wish it had either been developed a little more or left out entirely.
Overall though this was a good story and I am excited to see what happens next for this fun little group of sisters.
I liked everything about this story except 1 thing , it's too short . It's written well with some drama , a little humor and some sex ! Oh...another thing. This book isn't about a 20 year old blonde bombshell who meets a 26 year old billionaire and begins a steamy B & D relationship eventually becoming engaged . NO !! This book is about a 30 year old chubby woman who meets a 36+ year old man who owns a motorcycle shop. He's hot for her from the first moment and well...etc...you've got to read it to find out !
My first book by this author and I absolutely loved it, great story line and introduction of the characters in the series. The Palmer Sisters will grab and so will the rest of the Gang. Lainie gets things started with Sexy Keaton but first she has to overcome some challenges, some of her own making and Keaton has to learn a few things on his own. Even though the bools starts out with some steamy scenes, it is not a mindless sexy story, it has a great story and lay out for the series to follow. I can’t wait to read the series. Off to read Agatha!
I love when the good girl gets the bad guy. This was just perfect, right from the beginning there was a connection between Keet and Lainie. Neither one would have thought a mistaken interview would turn into their HEA, but it did, and it they were just the right balance the other needed. I can't wait to read Violets story, I loved all the sisters, but she's hiding something and I can't wait to see what it is and I hope she tames Eric, he needs someone like her.
I'm not really into love at first sight books but this I really enjoyed. I loved the relationship between Lainie and her family. I liked how the relationship between Lainie and Keeton moved fast but she, understandably so, had to slow things down just a little. It was a good balance. I don't know how she did it with a man like Keeton on her heels but I got it. Can't wait to read the second book of this series.
Lainie....Absolutely loved it!! The characters were great..Keaton he is now on my Book Boyfriend List he is the ulitimate alpha who designs beautiful bikes and is sexy. Lainie's character is beautiful inside and out.. This is the first book by this author, I enjoyed her writing style and storyline was fun, sexy with a few life lessons referenced though the story. I personally can't wait to read what happens next with the Palmer sisters. Happy Reading!!!!
I’m not great at reviews but I’m honest. I read this book. I enjoyed this book. I am not one for “romance” however I gave this a whirl. I think if you enjoy happy ever after and strong male leads this is for you. I would recommend this for a beach read or lazing around the poolside. It does have some steamy scenes so just take that into consideration. All in all it was fun and a quick read. You don’t have to over think and it is distracting from the everyday humdrum.
I started reading this book knowing it was the first of a series. A few chapters in, I knew I would be reading the rest of the books in the series. Characters developed quickly with little spurts of backstory at just the right time to engage the reader without losing momentum. I hope to enjoy the next installment in the series!
All romance. None of that annoying ‘angst’ so many romance writers think we either need, or want. Just fast-paced, love at first sight romance. This is only the second book in the series I have read as yet. But have downloaded them all, and am proceeding to the next one now. So, far, I am loving them.
I couldn't get enough!! I absolutely love the way this author tells her stories!! I absolutely love all the secondary characters with the Palmer sisters and Keeton's brother and sisters!! Can't wait for the next in the series!!
Katy Miller is one of my favorite writers. Her stories are funny and sexy and heart warming. I loved Lainie's story. I read the whole thing in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the rest of the Palmer sisters.
I enjoy Kayt Miller's books. I know to go to them when i need a romantic confidence boost. Sometimes a fall just needs a great romance like this with a guaranteed HEA
Fun, insta love, complete story! This was a quick read that still had depth and great characters! Looking forward to the next books in the series, which will each focus on a sister.
The dinner scene irked me, I get that this is instalove, but at times I felt there was a bit too much bulldozing and overstepping by Merton. I appreciated it came from a loving space but yeah he need to chill The eff out
This was my very first Kayt Miller book and it holds a very special place in my heart. I Loved it. I very rarely re-read books, I have this one and I will again. WONDERFUL.
Lainie is the start of a series of books about the five Palmer sisters. This story features, obviously, Lainie, the oldest of the sisters.
Lainie Palmer is a BBW who married young to help a friend and because she thought she'd never get a chance for marriage any other way. After 10 years of subtle, then not so subtle, put-downs and restrictions, Lainie's husband serves her with divorce papers. She signed without reading them because she just wanted out at that point and knew she'd never file. She is starting a writing career and her first steamy romance will feature a motorcycle club. She has done some research and visits a local bike shop she's scoped out to interview the leader of an MC to get more. Though she's disappointed to find out Keeton Gustafson, the shop's owner -- and custom motorcycle designer/builder -- isn't the badass biker she thought he was, she can't deny her strong physical and emotional reactions to the man. As for Keeton, he gets one look at Lainie and falls hard.
As I said above, I loved this story. It is such a fun read. The story is filled with humor (yes, I sometimes laughed out loud) and love -- oh, and some steamy scenes, too. We're introduced to Lainie's sisters, Aggie, Sadie, Vi, and Keels, and Miller does a great job in letting us feel their familial love. (We're also given hints to their stories to come.)
Since the description of the book says it, I won't be giving anything away when I say this is a love-at-first-sight story with a happy ending. It also says these stories are stand-alones, though I'm assuming we'll get updates on previous couples and the families and hints at those forthcoming.
While I loved Lainie and Keeton and their overall love story and the sisters, there were parts I didn't particularly care for. For example, I kept forgetting that Lainie was 31. She'd switch between what seemed like an immature/innocent to roaring adult, triggered by something Keeton would innocently say or do. (Maybe she could use a little counseling.) And, there were some unanswered plot pieces. One, I'm sure will be answered in Aggie's story; another deals with Keeton; a third with Lainie and her investments.
All in all, however, I can't wait for the rest of the series. I want to see how things work out for the sisters as well as for Keeton's brother and sister, Eric and Molly. This book also has me seeking out other books by Kayt Miller. I hope they're just as fun.
