This book had A LOT of potential, but it didn't quite live up to the smutty expectations it set for itself. There is one scene in the beginning that isn't a sex scene, but is still COMPLETELY filthy, so I expected the actual sex scenes to BRING THE HEAT. Unfortunately, they ended up being pretty tame and it kinda bored me if I'm being honest. I'm between a 2 and a 3 for this one but I'll round up because we love to see a fat girl living her dreams, lmao

I don't mind an age gap, but Holly was SO immature. Maybe I'll take my future age gap books more like 30/40, or 30/50 would maybe even be fine. I can appreciate her making the first move and I do feel like she was realistically written for her lack of experience ~ her hands shake, she stutters when she's nervous, but can I please get a somewhat realistic first time? It does not just slide in there nicely and where's the condom please. AND she was drunk just an hour ago, but all of the sudden she's stone cold sober and knows what she's doing, unacceptable. Let's wake up regretful while we're at it. You've been waiting ages for it to happen and it finally does and now all you can think about is your father. Buzz kill.
This bugged me too ~ they were at a charity benefit and as a surprise he's created the Barbara Halliday Foundation in honor of Holly's mom who died of breast cancer. That's great and all, but why wasn't Holly's dad, his BFF, there who still hasn't been able to move on from her? Rude.
Please stop calling your father Daddy. And don't call him Uncle anymore. And ewww with sharing a toothbrush.
BTW ~ Daddy didn't give one hootenanny about the situation at all....my father woulda thrown a hot fit as would my husband. And not only are we instantly in love, but we're engaged a half a minute later, please.

These characters are angsty cheeseballs and I don't enjoy one of the tropes used here , but I loved the holiday (Halliday! lol) vibes and we always stan a thick cutie getting the hype she deserves from her man. ♥

The last Jenika snow book of 2019!!! (I believe) and its a forbidden romance!!!
Holly and Bastian both have feelings for one another but they can't act on it since Bastian is the best friend of Holly's dad, talk about forbidden and awkward. These two dance around the shall we or shall we not he also hasn't made a move and didnt feel anything until she turned 18. And i gotta say i was alittle disappointed that Holly did all the chasing i like my alphas doing the chasing not the girls.. :( also i was annoyed when they finally did something sexual and moving forward Holly takes a huge step back worried for her fathers reaction..
But it wasn't even a bad reaction the father understood and gave his blessing.
I also do hope if jenika makes a story about the dad its not with Holly's bestfriend since shes their watching him still mourn his dad wife.. u wouldn't want that for her to be 2nd best.. so please jenika dont.

Age-gap, any form of boyfriends dad, friends dad, dad’s best friend, it’s my all time favorite trope. I no doubt have some daddy issues but whatever. So that’s obviously what drew me in but this one ...
The girl is too immature, she acts babyish and lacks any other form of personality. The guy is a carbon copy of every dad’s best friend, with nothing else to describe him.
The affection they have for one another is stilted and unbelievable. And than when they both express love for one another, I don’t buy it. Not one bit!
The only thing that can save this novella is good sex. And they can’t even admit they want each other. Even though not a week prior she opened her robe for you and left her dirty panties under your pillow. What do you want a goddam embossed invitation?

I generally love Isabella's books and have read a few of Jenika's story, so maybe it's because I was looking for something darker or maybe it's just that adorable wasn't what I wanted, bug this book wasn't bad. La novela tenía un gran potencial que se pudo haber explotado a lo largo del libro pero bueno, no fue así. Es fresca y fácil de leer, genial si necesitas una lectura rápida pero algo que me gustaría recalcar es en el tema del cuidado a la hora de tener sexo. Todo muy lindo, muy linda tu primera vez pero alguien podría haber pensado en un condón? O por lo menos en tomar la pastilla del día después? Digo, es un milagro que no se haya quedado embarazada la primera o segunda vez que lo hicieron.

I just loved this story of Bastian and Holly. He's wanted her for years but was always worried about his best friend being her dad. Plus, he wanted her to grow up a little bit. Holly has been in love with Bastian also but didn't want to hurt her father. It was nice to see him let her grow up and experience things before he decided to "stake his claim" on her. It didn't seem rushed to me and yes, it was over the top with sweetness but every now and then, I like to read stories like this. Just puts me in a happy mood. No drama, no angst, just two people trying to work out a relationship that others will probably see as forbidden. I would love to her Holly's friend get her story in the future!

I loved this. It’s a little taboo, a tad sweet, and lots sexy! Loved this duo and it’s my first taste of Isabella’s stories so I will be picking up more. I already love Jenika Snow. Love that Holly’s dad understood and I even wonder if there might be a story for him there.

The H picks the h up from a college party because she’s had too much to drink and then takes her to his house and they have sex. Umm no. Hard stop. Absolutely not. We’re apparently supposed to accept this is okay because he asks her if she’s too drunk and she says no. If the question has to be asked, the answer is keep your gd hands and other bits to yourself sir. At least this book was free so the only thing I wasted was the time reading it.

There’s just something about a dad’s best friend who has known the girl for awhile but his feelings for her change into something more after she grows up... it gets to me in a good way. It feels more forbidden I guess, but I love it! Holly’s dad was also pretty damn awesome and accepting too. Gotta love that.
I also love reading about a curvy girl. Even though Holly’s figure wasn’t really described much in the book, I just kept picturing the beautiful girl on the cover and it made me happy. Love me some curvy girls getting it on like they deserve, hah. 🥰

Holly has had feelings for Bastian for years and never thought that he would ever return her feelings. However now that she knows that he does she doesn't know what that means for them and her dad seeing as he is her father's best friend. Bastien has never looked at Holly as anything but his friend's little girl until she turned into an adult and stopped calling him uncle. Her friend told her that she needed to step outside her comfort zone and take what she wanted with Bastian. But what will her father think about them being together? Can they ever be accepted?
This is an amazing story that will captivate from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this the book any book lover.

This is the first book that I have read from Isabella Starling. Loved this story. Holly and Bastian were so good together. He is older and her father’s best friend but that didn’t matter to them. The chemistry and attraction between them were just so good. Always love Jenika’s stories and now I have a new set of stories to love with Isabella’s stories. Can’t wait to read more from both authors.

3.6 I one clicked because it was based round a more curvy woman’s storyline and it’s not often I see those. The forbidden age gap doesn’t phase me, age is just a number so reading their story felt more realistic. There were moments where I was pulled in and unfortunately others where it just seemed to move a bit too fast and was just forced to get to the finish line. In the end about the last 2 chapters I felt the pace was more steady and these characters came full circle. Overall I’m happy to have clicked and read this story.

This was an okay read for me. It was short and steamy. I just wasn’t able to love how Holly wanted Bastien so much but after they finally do what she’s been wanting she starts to feel bad about going behind her dads back. She wasn’t worried about it before then. But I did like their happy ending.

Cute Age-Gap “Forbidden” Curvy Girl and Dad’s Bestfriend Romance
This was a quick and cute story about a “curvy” young girl who falls for her father’s best friend. I think this was good for its length but would have loved to seen it as a full romance novel! I also like the descriptions of curvy girls to be more prominent of that is a major selling pint of the novel but it was only mentioned twice I think, only alluding to a curvy figure with thick thighs. Oh well, I appreciate it no matter what and I hope for more! Love these two authors and hope Dad gets his own story (maybe with Rosie??). :)

If you like taboo/age gap but you also want those holiday vibes this novella is where it’s at.
Super short and won’t take a lot of time.
