Deadly secrets. Hidden enemies. Colliding histories.

She’s supposed to be dead.

For Rowan Valor, faking her own death is a regular necessity. How else would an immortal dragon manage to live in a place like Manhattan for close to three hundred years? But changing her identity leaves the community center she founded vulnerable, and for the sake of the children, she must find a way to undo the damage.

He’s leading a new life.

Human detective Nick Grandstaff entered law enforcement to escape his violent roots. But closing the door on his past has resulted in an unnatural obsession with his work. Perhaps it’s for the best that his longest relationship has been with his dog. What woman would choose to be with someone with such a dark and tangled history?

To have a future together, both must face their past.

When Nick investigates a case that leads him to Rowan’s door, their passionate connection promises to heal old wounds and grant them both the once-in-a-lifetime love they deserve. But fighting a common enemy entangles them in the dangerous supernatural underworld of Manhattan where power is shifting, and unbeknownst to Rowan, a former ally has become a deadly enemy.

So this is book three in The Treasure of Paragon series and this times its the sister Rowans turn to take centre stage.
So Rowan while attempting to liberate the Rainbow of Heaven from its current unworthy owners the Stevensons gets caught in the act by security Detective Nick Grandstaff and Rowan has to use her dragon mojo to escape and make him forget.
Buts it's not long before their paths again collide and Nick is pulled headfirst into the supernatural world that Rowan resides in.
So this was a fabulous addition to this ongoing series.
I really liked Rowan herself she was great and had such a naturally empathetic nature.
Nick despite being human was a great match for her and he was a take-charge kind of guy with such a protective nature.
He also had both visible and invisible scars from his troubled and violent background and pushing people away before they got to close to him was his standard MO a form of self-preservation if you will.
As usual, this was a great read this is paranormal romance but with a continuing story- vein running through the series so it does really need to be read in order.
This also included Gabriel, Raven, Tobias and Selena from the previous books and it was great to catch up with them all again.
This really is a well written imaginative read and I enjoyed it very much.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Manhattan Dragon (The Treasure of Paragon, #3).

Manhattan Dragon by Genevieve Jack
The Treasure of Paragon series #3. Dragon shifter paranormal romance. Can be read as a stand-alone but better as part of the series since prior characters (family) have roles in this story.
Dragon shifter Rowan Valor is used to restarting her life. She’s lived in New York for over three hundred years and knows humans won’t understand someone who doesn’t age. When Detective Nick Grandstaff interrupts her stealing diamonds for her hoard, she erases his memory of the event but he’s a detail oriented person and knows something is wrong about that night. And it turns out, she’s actually met him in the past which helps support the wild story she tells him about being a dragon! And if vampires really own some underground lair, Nick knows he needs to help stop the human trafficking.

Dark and amusing, this story about dragons from another world will keep you entertained while they try to shut down the vampires. Yes, there are bad vampires and it gets tense and then family gets involved. But she’s a Red Dragon! Nick loves red. And her wings are so soft!
The Birkin bag short conversation between Rowan and Harriet is hilarious!
In actuality, there is more suspense than humor, but this is definitely my favorite sibling so far.

So I’d like to update everyone on my stop vs sleep debate mention in my reading status. I didn’t stop. I couldn’t. No matter how tired I was or how much time I had left to sleep before work, there was just no way I could put this book down. Way too much was happening.

Rowan and Nick had a love story that rivaled her siblings [The Dragon of New Orleans and Windy City Dragon]. I absolutely LOVED every moment.

Nick is the first human to join this family of dragons and it’s obviously fated. He took to this new, secret world so naturally. And his love for Rowan was instinctual as well as primal.

I’m excited for the next installment. I have a feeling it’s going to be the most emotional so far and I’m ready to strap in and ride that rollercoaster ride.

This third book belongs to sister Rowan Valor and with it comes a narrator change. Holly Adams does a stellar job with the voice of Rowan, and her male voice for detective Nick Grandstaff. Her voices for the villains were creepy and gave me a chill.

Rowan seeking a little revenge against the folks who own the land beneath the community center steals a jewel and walks straight into off-duty police detective Nick Grandstaff. She cleans up her mess and erases Nick’s memory, but when he shows up a few days later asking questions about a murder victim, it’s clear he has some memory of her. I loved the chemistry between these two and learning about previous encounters.

It soon becomes clear the two must work together, and I enjoyed watching things move beyond that.

In the meantime, her siblings are looking to warn her about Paragon and the vampire threat. We got updates on her siblings and their mates.

The shifters and vampires in New York are seriously creepy, well their leaders were. There are some triggers in this book, so if you are vulnerable to sexual triggers proceed with caution. View Spoiler »

The romance was sexy. With the bond mating and discovery it was also hot as hell. It played a secondary role to the intense case, battle, and overall series arc. However, the author still made me feel connected and their relationship felt genuine.

I loved the sibling interaction and the brothers interaction with Nick. The battles scenes and encounter with some scary vampires was brilliant. I am looking forward to meeting the next brother. Jack laid the groundwork and I look forward to the audiobook. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

Manhattan Dragon (The Treasure of Paragon #3) by Genevieve Jack
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
I am such a huge fan of this series so when I saw Rowan’s book was next, I couldn’t wait to read it. Rowan’s story did not disappoint at all that is for sure. Seeing the only sister in this large dragon family get her HEA was awesome especially since we have heard about her from Tobias a lot in his story.
Rowan is sassy, smart, and compassionate which is why Nick is so drawn to her. He is the perfect match to our “princess.” Nick is overwhelmed, to say the least, after being thrust into the new world but being with his woman made everything worth it.
The story was very fast paced with a lot of twists and turns plus some steamy fun scenes. I think Harriett stole the scenes when she was in them and loved her as a secondary character. The banter between her and Rowan was pure comedy especially in the scene about her owning a $8,000 handbag.
I loved the continued story of the siblings needing to find each other and look forward to more in the series!!

Manhattan Dragon by Genevieve Jack is book three in her The Treasure of Paragon Series.
Manhattan Dragon can easily be read as a stand alone. For best reading experience I recommend to read the books in order. The previous books are The Dragon of New Orleans and Windy City Dragon.

Wow, what a ride! Manhattan Dragon - The Treasure of Paragon Book 3 by Genevieve Jack is a more than captivating story. I started reading and was captivated from page one. I read the book, cover to cover in one sitting, I simply couldn't put it down. It's a fantastic pnr/ fantasy story excellent written, beautifully thought out and beautifully told. I connected very easily with the characters and doesn't happen very often.
Manhattan Dragon is a story full of magic, glimmer, creatures, danger and evil, but also love, soulmates and a grand lovestory.
The author of The Ghost and The Graveyard wrote a captivating, highly entertaing story about love, letting go and sacrifice. I recommend the book and can't wait for the next book in the series, The Dragon of Sedona.

I have to admit that I am enamoured with this series. Manhattan dragon was a joy to read. It was one of those books that made me curse that I had to put it down and go to work then kept me thinking about what would happen next the whole day.
This is a fantasy world full of romance, suspense, and mystery. Mix in a sexy, good hearted Police officer, brilliant beautiful dragon, naughty shifters, villainous vampires and a whole menagerie of other wonderful characters.
You just can't beat Genevieve Jack's writing style. The story flowed so well I actually didn't figure out who one of the bad guys was until he was outted- I love surprises. There are social issues that pull at your heart strings and get your blood boiling. While the romance does the same.
All the main characters from the two previous books make appearances in this book and carry it forward. It leaves me wanting more and really looking forward to the next book.

When Rowan meets Nick, she's instantly attracted. But Rowan is a dragon, intent on stealing the very jewels Nick, a human NYPD detective, has been hired to protect. Thanks to a quickie spell, Rowan escapes with the jewels and Nick's memory of her erased. But their paths cross again when Nick is assigned to the strange murder of a young girl whose body is found at the children's center Rowan owns and runs. What follows is a tale of intrigue, vampires, and betrayal. The third installment of The Treasure of Paragon series is a riveting page-turner. I only wish Rowan and Nick's relationship could have been fleshed out a bit more (but that's me being greedy). Now, I can't wait for Book 4 and I hope that Alexander will find a new someone to love.

Omgosh!! I think this one might be my favorite so far!!
I absolutely loved how all the characters are coming together. Rowan and Nick are an excellent addition to the group. I can NOT wait to meet the other siblings.
I also loved the power of a woman dragon in this. This has some comical moments that made me laugh out loud. Amazing love connections and a great story line all together. This series is coming together perfectly!!

This series just keeps getting better and better and Rowan’s story did not disappoint! As always her characters are well developed and the storyline is intriguing and suspenseful. With so many twists and turns in this book it had me glued to my Kindle wanting to know what happened. Rowan is sassy and feisty being the only girl surrounded by her brothers. Nick is a NYPD detective and he is thrust into the world he has no clue about but with Rowan by his side he is able to navigate the murky waters. These two had chemistry from the start and it just blossomed. I can’t wait to read more about the dragon siblings!!

Girl power at it's finest
I loved this book, it is such a perfect addition to the series. I think my favorite part of this series is the way all of the characters just fit together. Well that and the dragons (who doesn't love dragons), the way the author is able to make me burst out laughing, and the way I was able to get so caught up in the story that I couldn't put it down. I love the mystery, the camaraderie and the HEA trapped between the pages of this book. I can't wait to see what this talented author comes up with next.

*I received this book as a gift in exchange for my honest opinion.

I'm honestly not even sure how this series has managed to slip through my fingers. That being said, I have to also admit that this is the first time I've heard of this author (hangs head in shame). Only to find out that she writes the EXACT genre I pine over. Seriously...this is just becoming more and more embarrassing by the second.

Although this is the third installment of the series, and as someone who hasn't read the previous books, it felt as though this could be read as a standalone. The author does a great job filling in the spaces that a new reader (such as myself) won't feel as though they've missed anything in relation to the supporting characters.

Rowan is a dragon. Ok, she's obviously more than just a dragon. In fact, she's the only female dragon of her family living on Earth and not in the other realm Paragon. She's beautiful, kind, caring and is pissed. Why? Because someone is trying to purchase land that would destroy everything she loves. So what better way than to get even, right? Except getting even only sparks a chain of events that will change her life....for eternity.

Nick is a NYPD detective. In fact, he's one of the best who's recently been awarded for his heroism. He's a handsome, attentive and caring man, so when his partner asked him to cover a security detail shift for him, it was no big deal. That is until something comes up missing from the home he was charged to protect and he can't remember a thing about what happened. That's totally not like him and everything seems...off. Especially when he can't get a certain woman off the brain.

This book has many qualities that I look for in a book. Obviously the chemistry between Rowan and Nick is scorching, but it was also the mystery of finding out the "who dun it" aspect of the story. We're introduced to multiple paranormal beings and the drama keeps us on our toes.

I'm happy to admit that I'm extremely intrigued now and can't wait to see what the next book will bring. Bring on those DRAGONS!!!!!!

Rowan Valor, is a 500 year old dragon shifter living and hiding in Manhattan. She runs a non-profit community centre for disadvantaged children which is now being threatened by commercial development. She teams up with an NYPD detective who is investigating a crime that occurred on her doorstep and they both soon discover that her competition and his criminals are some very sinister supernaturals.

I can’t believe how much I love the “girl” dragon of this series! Rowan is generous, loving, and compassionate to a fault. She falls hard for the handsome, courageous and overwhelmingly masculine Detective Nick Grandstaff. They are determined to protect each other but don’t understand the extent of the danger that they are in. Rowan’s brothers spend the better part of the book trying to find and warn her that a) her murderous mother would be sending more dragon assassins to Earth and b) the entire vampire nation has a price in her head.

Rowan and Nick have tremendous chemistry and quickly bond over childhood trauma and mutual respect. This story was shaping up to be another 5 star but for a couple of missteps that I have trouble overlooking. A slight deduction leaves 4.5 stars.

SPOILERS BELOW:

At one point Rowan is nearly completely drained by a master vampire who then unties her ankles and later tells Nick “I’ve already had her. All of her.” I feel that the author glosses over the very important point of whether this was a real or threatened rape.
*
*
Why does Rowan hesitate to offer her dragon tooth to Nick? Her brothers have to suggest it to her. Her servant Harriet has to reassure Rowan that she wouldn’t mind sharing her with Nick. (What? Why should Rowan have to ask? It wasn’t that confusing when she saved Harriet from tuberculosis, was it?)

Exiled dragon-shifter princess Rowan Valor has a plan to get back at the evil land developer who is putting her children's art center out of business -- she's going to steal his priceless diamond. Caught in the act by Detective Nick Grandstaff, she gets away using her dragon magic, but fate keeps throwing them together, in the middle of a dangerous supernatural conflict that could kill them both.

The third Treasure of Paragon novel is the best yet. Rowan is smart, compassionate and caring. Nick is tough, dedicated and principled. Not to mention Rowan's gypsy Traveller companion, Harriet, who is absolutely hilarious. The plot manages to include a story unique to the novel while continuing the vampire vs. dragon story line from book two with a hint of the other dragons from Paragon want to kill them story line from book one. It's a fabulous novel and I can't wait to read book four in the series

This series is just getting better and better. This time out, Gabriel and Tobias’ sister Rowan takes the lead. Rowan lives in Manhattan, and her humanity work with the children could be lost to her forever – but to find out who has purchased the land under her building, she’ll have to face a new danger that may cost the life of her, or of Nick, the handsome cop that Rowan just can’t leave behind.

The Treasure of the Paragon series is one of the best dragon series I’ve read yet. I loved the beauty and power that the author gives to Rowan, and to see Gabriel and Raven, and Tobias and Sabrina back to try and protect their sister, and there was one part of the ending that I literally jumped and hooted. This is an action-packed, suspenseful and hot series – and very hard to put down.

I really loving this series each new story adds more to the dragon puzzle, there is more intrigue, heaps of action and not just with bad guy's Genevieve Jack knows how to write the sexy type of action seriously well and I have to say I love how descriptive her writing is...

Dragon's truly are real...
Vampires tend to be a..holes in any book...lol
and true love always wins out okay so sometime there needs to be a battle and some magic and then the whole swallowing a dragon tooth to save the life of your mate so then, then you can finally have your happily ever after but in the end it was all worth it...

The Best So Far

The third book in The Treasure of Paragon Series is the best so far. Manhattan Dragon is about the only female sibling among the seven who escaped from Paragon. Rowan and Nick... their story is compelling and moves fast and is by far the most action packed yet. Do read the first two books as they were excellent starts with amazing world building, action, heat, telling the stories of Gabriel and Tobias. Can't wait to start my next trip to Sedona and find Alexander.

Holy heck! Nick's smolder for Rowan just lept off the page, and made me a tad jealous I don't have wings. After 2 books where the s.o. of the dragon is a supernatural of some kind, it is nice to have a regular human. Makes me feel like I have a shot with the rest of the brothers, lol. I feel like Rowan could have been a bit of a stronger character, but the whole pampered princess thing does have a place since she was one. But I do feel like she did do a decent job of overcoming the overprotective formative years.

This is book 3 and this is my favorite so far. Rowena has such a big heart but oh so fiesty and independent. Nick the cop is mistrustful, doesn't like liars and is so denial about his attraction to Rowena. There are vampires looking to take over New York, human trafficking's, kidnapping, betrayal and so ok, this book was busy! Gabriel, Raven and Tobias show up to help rescue Rowena and we get a super sweet hea. Now off to read book 4, Alexander's story!

Vampires, shifters vs dragons and the mate bond, the outcome is awesome. Rowan and Nick with help from Gabriel and Tobias and their mates clean up Manhattan but with their mother the queen looking to kill all of the dragon siblings the need to find the weakest sibling fast before anything happens. Looking forward to book 4.

Wow

So much craziness. Lol. While the brother ms race to find Rowan. She is perpetually cloaked and going through one crazed event after another. Meeting nick. Then dealing with an invasion. trying to solve a crime and understand a pull to a human. All the subterfuge. And the ups and downs of their relationship. They were adorable. So much hurt and pain in his past. Loved seeing the previous characters build upon more stories and play a role in the book. And off the epilogue!! I hope his mother and her minions get what’s coming to her.

Mon avis en Français

My English review

This is a novel I was looking forward to reading after having a great time with the first two volumes. How can you resist when it comes to Rowan Valor, the only woman dragon? I was really curious to find out her story!

Rowan has lived in Manhattan for a very long time and that’s also why she is used to changing her identity. However, she doesn’t expect to cross the path of Inspector Nick Grandstaff during a robbery. If to protect herself, she erases his memories of her, she begins to run into him everywhere she goes. Besides, it seems that something is happening between them whether they want it or not. But now Nick’s new case is going to throw them both into the dark world of vampires while Tobias and Gabriel try to find her on their side.

It was a great novel again and I really had a great time again! Rowan and Nick are two people that we enjoy discovering and following. I was really curious to find out more about Nick’s past and I must say it was well found.

Now I can’t wait to discover the sequel and the story of Alexander that we have heard so much about in this novel.

Another great read!!!

I loved Rowan and Nick!! Their story was beautiful. I recommend reading the whole series for the best experience. The way Ms. Jack brings all of the characters together is nothing if not magic. I would have given 5 stars if the end didn't feel a little rushed. I am confident the the evolution of their relationship will be talked about in the next book. I can't wait to meet dragon baby. I am waiting impatiently for the rest of the series. Well done, Ms. Jack.
