Story-wise, this was the absolute perfect conclusion to the series. It did pretty much everything I wanted and a few things I didn't know I wanted to boot. The only reason I wouldn't 5 star this is that again, like its predecessors, it has some continuity and/or editing bugs. With one last proper editorial pass to banish those lingering demons, I honestly think this series would stand up to the traditionally published YA fantasy series on offer today, especially as it handles so many things better. Subtle romance, plot twists (both the obvious and the less so), action, adventure... It's got all those tropes you know and love but with a fresh magical future-dystopia twist. And I love it despite those excessive commas and occasional misused semi-colons. Trust me, that is love to a grammar geek and makes this series well worth your time.
Because Wynter's journey from poor girl in the Scraps to imposter mage in the floating city of Reverie takes another turn in this tale as war comes to the kingdom. She's learned the secret of source of the strongest magic, she's learned how the cities came to fly, she's learned just who she is, and now she's learning that none of that will mean anything unless she can put an end to it all. With the help of Prince Alexander, the mage students Viviane, Jessa and Tatiana, and her now loyal demon Lucian, she's going to change the world... As long as she can save it first.
I loved every character getting their well-deserved story arc. Side characters really came into their own, especially the Rosewood clan. Like Wynter, I came to be strangely fond of Dorian. Her BFFs from the Scraps get their moment too here, and I was so glad to revisit them now that Wynter's position had changed . The confrontation with old demon Gabriel really highlighted how far our heroine had come.
Apart from my whinge about grammar, the writing is really compulsive stuff. The pace is just right, and there's plenty of drama to keep everything moving along.
And the end... Per-fec-tion. That, my friends, is how you tie up loose ends in a YA.
I am so glad to have found such a wonderfully fulfilling YA fantasy. It feels like a sleeper hit just waiting for that final polish.

Prvá séria odohrávajúca sa v magickej škole od Zodiac Academy, ktorá ma naozaj zaujala. Wynter je príjemná hlavná hrdinka, ostatné postavy sú zaujímavé - hlavne Dorian a jeho čudná osobnosť a podivuhodný morálny kompas, Viviane, ktorá sa od sokyne prepracovala ku kamarátke, Jessa a Tatiana (ktorej otec mi trochu pripomínal otca Luny Lovegoodovej), a samozrejme Lucian - démon žijúci vo Wyntrinom meči, ktorý sa stal jej vždy prítomným spoločníkom (trochu ako Vespertine), pretože jej dokáže čítať myšlienky a hovoriť v hlave.
Komu som ani po troch knihách neprišla na chuť je Alexander. Stále pre mňa no go. Nechápem, čo na ňom Wynter vidí a neviem si predstaviť, ako chcú stráviť život bok po boku. Ich pohľad na svet sa nezhoduje a Alexander ma opakovane svojim správaním odpudil. Čakal som na niečo, čo ma presvedčí, že sa zmenil, ale to sa nestalo.

It is hard to believe but book 3 topped book 1 and 2. This trilogy already begins awesome with the first book "The Source of Magic". The idea that magic and demons are deeply connected is unique and all characters introduced are interesting and likeable. Then comes the second book "The Secret of Magic", which made the story richer, the fantasy world is more elaborated but still the plot continues to thicken and keeps the reader engaged. And then arrives the explosive final "The Scourge of Magic", again literally. The mystery, the magic, the whole world has become a part of the reader. It feels like the protagonists are standing right beside you while they struggle saving their world.

Wow! This story just keeps getting better and better! With non stop action and suspense, I really loved this series.
In constant danger, Wynter continues to try to solve the demon problem, keep her friends and family safe, stop a war and save kingdoms!
This was just an amazing trilogy with great characters, storyline and building intensity!

I’ve really enjoyed this series and this was a such a good conclusion to it. Full of action and drama it’s hard to say too much without spoilers so I won’t I’ll just happily recommend for YA fantasy fans.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, the 3rd and final book in the series, as it tied up all the loose ends so well and the story could have ended with and they all lived happily ever after. The twists to the plot kept on coming till the end too making this a very enjoyable read. I love the cast of characters and really loved seeing them all evolve and change to become who they really were meant to be, with Wynter being the glue that held all of her friends together. It was great seeing the Prince take Wynter's side over that of his father, the King and I loved the way the romance progressed too. All in all this series was all about friendship, loyalty and courage, full of magic and forces of good against evil. It also showed that everything could be overcome when there was fate in what one believed was right, and set out to accomplish. I loved that Wynter managed to finish what her parents had set out to do so many years before, but she only managed to do this because all her friends those of Reverie and Aubade, and those of the lower realms, and her dearest friend Lucian stood by her all along, even when all their lives where at risk! Sometimes one just has to believe!

Marisa Mills and Drake Mason do it again!!! A lot of multi-series books start out brilliant but then become boring. Not this one. The Scourge of Magic has even MORE twists and turns than the previous books - something I did not think was possible. I started and finished this book in one sitting because it was so fast paced and exciting that I could not put it down.
Book 3 picks up where it left off. Reverie is in pandemonium after the events of Book 2. Wynter and her friends have to navigate their school life and also figure out a way to save Reverie, the demons and all the other Kingdoms. There are political maneuverings to deal with, friends and family with seemingly ulterior motives as well as Wynter's own insecurities, pain, and feelings of attraction towards Alexander. She is being pulled in different directions all at once.

Oh thank goodness. If you're reading this then you've likely already read the first two books. So why would you even need someone's opinion? You know it's good but you are frustrated that you don't yet know how it ends.
Well things heat up much more in book 3. Far more action and violence. Everything seems to explode at once and very fast. The kingdoms go to war and they are going to fall....if someone doesn't save them. And neither side is the good guys or the bad guys.
Thankfully in the end it all wraps up nicely and you aren't left wondering 'what about.' Your questions will be answered. I loved the series. And it was worth the frustration of having to read it all in 3 separate books. I think this one might have been my favorite. All my questions were answered. And while it all didn't get perfectly at the end it ended well.

Another great exciting & action-packed read in this brilliant series of floating cities, trapped demons, mages & magic. More secrets, betrayals, gains & losses face Wynter & her fellow mage pupils in the floating city of Reverie. Great writing again that take you along with their triumphs, battles, discoveries & heartache. Roll on book 4 to find out if peace can ever reign between the kingdoms, mages & demons. You'll get to love (& sometimes hate!) all the characters. Who'd ever thought you could be on the side of a demon! Love Lucian, Wynter, Dorian et al! Brilliant adventurous read & a highly recommended book & series.

Nice and tidy
I thought this was a conclusion to the series, but at the last page the author mentioned another book. However, this book was a nice ending of the series at least so far. Wynter has grown into a strong and confident woman. The other characters were great assets to the series and I hope that the next book brings the gang together again. It would be nice if there were some HEA for the other characters too.

Cute and intense
The end is goid. Some bitterness but mostly sweet. I was a little disappointed with one character although he did redeem himself some, i wish he would have had the chance to redeem himself more. Overall this last installment was intense with gruesome battles, huge victories and sweet scenes. Overall no profanity and the romance was clean. Appropriate for all audiences.

The Academy of Falling Kingdoms series is a grand adventure. The world building remained the best part in my opinion. The characters showed growth and the relationships were a real key to this story. Some parts of the story were not overly surprising, but other parts really had good twists.
I do think this series is worth the time. I'd certainly read more from these authors.

Another thrilling magic filled PNR for the series that is fast paced, action packed, having twists, surprises, threats, danger, revelations, and family drama, not forgetting the promises that need to be kept. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

This is a fantastic read. That is fast paced and action packed. This book has a lot of twists and turns I didn't see coming. I love the world building. And how the Author brings out the Characters. This is an epic read that is a real page turner. I definitely recommend.

I loved this book, just as I did the previous two. I recommend it to anyone. With her uncle sent off to war with the neighboring city, Wynter must try and save her city with the help of her friends.
