I'm going to be real honest here, I didn't actually enjoy it as much as I expected.( I did have quite high expectation so thats all on me.) But that might also stem from the fact that I had absolutely no idea what happened. Reading it in thai was hard enough, combine that with all the chemistry and police stuff...well, let's just say it was quite a wild journey for me. Nonetheless, it was still pretty thrilling. The fact that the mysteries just kept thickening as you read, while confusing as fuck, was pretty much what kept me going the entire time. I quite liked the dynamic between the ml and the mc. While Yan Xie might not be hte kind of ML I usually prefer, his charms did work on me. He was hilarious and adorable. Yeah, toxic masculinity was ooooozing out from him but I'm not giving up on him hahahahaha. (He was described as มะเร็งชายแท้ and ooooh how I loved that. 100% accurate.) His character development and him realising that he's, in fact, so down bad for JT, are going to be quite interesting. (And I might be biased here cause if he wasn't the ml, I might find this guy annoying as hell.) I liked Jiang Ting. I have a soft spot for a calm and mature mc so naturally, I was attracted to him from the beginning. And boi was this guy SMARRRT. He was so hawt for that even though I was kinda like 'what the hell are you talking about how did you come up with that' 90% of the time when he figured something out. But hey, I gotta fake it until I make it, right? LOL. Aight. Second book, here I come.
Ps. I went into this book blind so I so hope that I'm going to enjoy the second one a lot more now that I kinda know what is going on here. Time to use my tiny brain I guess.
