Snow Daze is book four in the Snowed In – Valentine’s Inc. series by Pandora Pine. This is my very first book by Ms. Pine. This is a M/M instalove romance.

Beckett “Hyde” McGrath is an ex-marine who was forced to leave due to his injuries. He is now suffering from PTSD. As a way to try to help himself heal, he has taken a job at a beautiful resort in the mountains of New Hampshire, Black Mountain Inn. Where Hyde used to be a cheerful, friendly man, he is now gruff, introverted and angry.

Greer Jefferson is a biologist who is working on his Phd. Two years ago Greer was left at the alter by his fiancé. The pain was overwhelming. In the time since, he has devoted every minute to working on his thesis, which focuses on his lifetime fascination with moose. He has traveled to Black Mountain Inn so he can spend time in the woods studying their local moose population.

Image result for moose in the snow

The minute Hyde saw Greer standing at the check in desk, he felt the pull to him. But he had no interest in pursuing his interest. He could barely handle having a conversation with him, let alone more.

Greer is instantly smitten with the huge man that calls himself Hyde. He wants to know more about him but his rude attitude keeps him at a distance.

When a dangerous blizzard is approaching, the inn is evacuated. All except Hyde to take care of the Inn, and Greer, who stayed behind. Now these two are forced to get to know each other and face the chemistry that has been sizzling between them.

While this book started out with a riveting prologue the rest was just okay for me. I’m still giving it four stars because it was sexy and sweet. But I never felt the chemistry like I wanted to. There were no butterflies or swoons. I did enjoy seeing the impact Greer had on Hyde and it had a very sweet ending. I just wished I had felt more of a connection.

Wonderful tale of a big, burly, bearded Marine, Beck/Hyde, who survived Afghanistan, working at a snowy resort, who meets a PHD. Moose nut, Greer, who turns his normal upside-down, in a good way.
The blizzard is on it's way, but Greer doesn't leave like the other guests. Greer, 25, was left at the altar, and is concentrating his life forward with his Moose studies.

Code name Hyde, Beck, is hiding from life with his survivor's guilt, and wallowing in misery.
Snowed in together has the men sharing stories, being attracted, and each is longing for more. Neither has felt this way about anyone who crossed their path. Hot sexy times, where Beck shows how he excels in giving orders, and Greer is loving it.
We hear the horror of war that Beck experienced, and Greer's hurt-filled tale of being abandon and cheated on. Just when they are connecting, and having the best sex ever, the storm ends and the guests are coming back.
That's when Beck opens his mouth and ruins the feelings for both of them. Greer can't fathom that the passion wasn't real, because he felt it, too.

Marvelous characters, and an excellent epilogue.
ENJOY !

This was such a good story but a hard one as well. I don’t want to give too much away in the story, BUT I do want to warn people, it does deal with a Marine who went through combat and lost friends and had to save some with severe injuries while dealing with his own. He has severe PTSD and survivor’s guilt. If that is an issue, please be careful. His past is not a pretty one.
The thing about Hyde, is he was living up to part of his name. Just a different spelling. After all that went down overseas, he was hiding away in the mountains, taking a maintenance job to try to get away from the overwhelming feelings of failure to his men and his PTSD. The problem was some days it worked because he was so busy, he didn’t have too much time to think. But for the most part, it was going away. And he wasn’t getting better. When he sees a beautiful man in a red parka, he’s in instant lust. But he knows he’s no good for Greer and automatically starts pushing him away, by being hateful and rude. But Greer tries to deal, until Hyde goes too far. But when a blizzard leaves them stuck together, they have no choice but to be in close quarters and end up finding things out about each other. Hyde expects Greer to run away from him after he hears Hyde’s story, but instead he gives Hyde a different perspective about his situation and maybe a moment to breathe. But once the snow starts clearing away, real life invades again and Hyde is back to his grumpy self. And again, goes to far. Now he has to figure out how to apologize and make it right or lose Greer forever.
Such a hard story to read. It really is. Anytime you deal with PTSD from military, it’s not usually an easy battle and ends up with a lot of people in pain. In one way or another. Hyde really doesn’t mean to lash out and hurt people, but he’s in so much pain of his own, he’s terrified to let people too close to him. But somehow Greer got under his skin anyway. And that terrified Greer even worse. He didn’t know how to deal with feelings and emotion. He was a closed off person. A one and done kind of man. But Greer made him want to be better. Want to strive to have a better life. No matter what it took to do so. But yet, I understood Greer’s point of view too. With his own bad past, thanks to his ex, one can only stand to be pushed away and hurt by words so much before too much is too much. So, it’s hard for both of them. And almost seems like an impossible situation.
The one thing both had to learn to do, was communicate. Period. Whether it was to warn the other they need space or something, they had to learn to communicate and listen. And communicate correctly. Not harshly or hurtful. But honestly. It’s not an easy thing to do with a lot of people. It makes them vulnerable. And no one who’s been in battle, especially, likes to be vulnerable. But if you truly want to change, you have to take the steps necessary to make it better for yourself so you can be better for others.

3.5 stars.

I enjoyed this but man I had a problem with Hyde. I sympathized with him. He even made me teary a few times. My problem was that he was a jerk just to be a jerk. Greer was too nice of a guy for that.

There's an epilogue that showed a different side of Hyde. He was very sweet and very loving. I wish I would have seen more of that particular version of him before.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. I just wasn't a huge fan of Hyde.

Pandora Pine's contribution to this series in the Valentine's Inc world is quite remarkable. Hyde and Greer's story is a quick read, yet it's packed with scene setting, character building, snark, heat, some familiar faces and a metric ton of feels!

When we meet them Greer and Hyde are dealing with very different issues that have left them broken, whilst also lending each character both strength and vulnerability. The snowy circumstances of how they were thrown together set the scene perfectly for the two of them to find out very quickly that healing and love can find you in the most unexpected of places. And did I mention the heat? Phew...

My only (tiny!) issue with Snow Daze is that it's a novella...I could've gotten used to having Hyde and Greer around a lot more.

The author provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another tale in the Valentine Inc. world. This time Pandora Pine tackles a former marine who has had his life torn apart and looking for peace and a moose hunting younger man who needs to move on from the situation he'd been placed in. What better way to do it than stuck in a New Hampshire hotel alone, snowed in together? There was snark, there was heat and there was a Lennox and Granger sighting. Ms Pine always finds a way to sneak a known character or two into her most recent books and I love the subtlety. "It all started with Hyde being snow dazed, now it was ending with forever. One click and see how Hyde ad Greer survived the storm and what led up to their meeting.

Great read

I really enjoyed this winter read that was full of emotion. Beck and Greet were both hurting and unsure, but they were perfect together and for each other. I totally loved the ending.

Sweet, emotional, wonderful story of overcoming and moving on

I absolutely loved this book! I went into it a bit skeptical as I had read a couple other books in this series and the “snowed in” plot device just came across as so forced. That was absolutely not the case in Pine’s contribution to the series.

The book grabbed from the very beginning. It opens with a scene in Afghanistan as Hyde is thinking about the fellow Marines on his team. Pine writes in such a truly evocative way that you just know, beneath the seemingly recitation there is impending doom. My gut was roiling as I read. It was such a visceral reaction and the scene was so well done I could picture everything so clearly.

The book the flashes forward to a year later and Hyde is working as a maintenance man at a NH resort. I loved Pine’s description of the states making up New England as Hyde had to despise where to move to as he started his new life. After we meet Hyde we meet Greer, a Ph.D candidate studying moose and getting ready to finish his dissertation who is staying at the hotel.

I loved the dynamics between the two, the unexpected elements of their personalities. I felt like we really got to know the MCs despite this being a shorter format. I thoroughly enjoyed the cameo by Lennox and Granger who we know from previous works by Pine.

The crisis moment is heartbreaking and then uplifting. The message of the power of one person’s belief in and impact on another is a beautiful one. Hyde’s ability to work through his guilt and anguish is powerful and hear wrenching.

It’s a quick read but will leave you so fulfilled. Highly recommend.

Yet another deviation from my TBR piles, but again, this series (Snowed In) is linked to the Valentine's Inc series, much like the Cruises series. The fourth book in this series is titled "Snow Daze," and it's by Pandora Pine.
["Needing to escape the horrors of war, Beckett “Hyde” McGrath takes a job at a posh resort in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. He’s hoping to put his scarred past behind him and start fresh.

Moose biologist Greer Jefferson checks into the Black Mountain Inn in hopes of working on his thesis and getting up close and personal with his target subjects. What he finds instead is a mountain of a man with a bad attitude and lips to die for.
When the blizzard of the century strikes, and the hotel is evacuated, a certain moose aficionado is left behind with Hyde. Will sparks fly between them, or will Greer be left out in the cold?"]

There were a lot of dark moments in this, but all of the fluff and the steam and the chemistry shined through. In the beginning, it was all hot, angry sex while hiding secrets and protecting yourself. As they got to know each other and shared secrets and accepting a bit of vulnerability, it turned sweeter and softer. A definite recommend.

Another really enjoyable addition to the Valentine's Inc series from Pandora Pine.
Right from the start, the prologue hits you right in the feels as it's Hyde's last day in the marines.
We jump a year ahead then as Hyde is working as a general handyman at a hotel in the White Mountains, mainly away from the general public and allowed to live quietly with his guilt. At least until Greer, a moose biologist, arrives and the attraction between the two sparks hot. They don't start under the best of circumstances and getting snowed in together, alone, at the hotel when a blizzard comes in forces tensions to build until there's nowhere to come but together.
Hyde just tugs on your heartstrings with what he went through and is now dealing with. Greer had his own emotional turmoil in his recent past and Hyde is the first man he even contemplates anything with, let alone the connection and heat that ignites between them. Greer allows Hyde to be himself, either leaving him in peace or offering compassion and an ear when he needs it whilst Hyde shows Greer how much he deserves after being treated so badly in the past. When the two men do come together it's explosive and hot and though a short story, it's a story packed with strong emotions from both men, positive and negative.
A great recommended read from a favourite author and I am a big fan of the Valentine's Inc series'.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Snow Daze, Pandora Pine's contribution to the Snowed In - Valentine's Inc series, is a wonderful quick read.

Hyde's an ex-military man who's in New Hampshire seeking a reprieve from reality and responsibility. Greer's just visiting, but he's also a broken man who's looking for more from his life.

It's a story of forced proximity, a snow storm, and an intense connection. Theirs is a story of painful pasts full of guilt and grief. It's a story of forgiving oneself and finding someone who brings you back to life. It's a tender story of finding a friend and a lover.

This is a serious story, definitely tough to read at times, which I wasn't expecting. The writing is great, with well developed characters who's feelings jump off the pages. I enjoy the way the plot develops and that the storm doesn't bring any danger, but rather a setting that's perfect for romantic feelings.

As for Greer, I adore him but I certainly can't relate to his love of moose. lol

Snow Daze is a perfect read when you're in the mood for a sweet romance. With the combination of snow and Valentine's Day, you'll want to just cozy up under a blanket to read this one.

3,5 *

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:
A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series
from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year),
it's like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok)
It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the
whole line, dismissed, repeat the class

Absolutely loved this. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read by this author and so far I’ve really liked every Valentine’s Inc book. While this as the others just have a minor mention of that in these newer series I still love this concept of a loosely connected series by so many amazing authors. This round all featured forced proximity by virtue of snow storms. I had no idea I needed that in my life until I started reading!

In this particular story I felt like there was a lot of depth for a moderate length book, well written and developed. Hyde’s experiences gave him a lot of intensity in his emotions and feelings even when he had to work through some things. Greer was so different but ultimately so perfect for Hyde. Their connection moved fast but fiercely and hit all the perfect notes emotionally. Their physical connection was off the charts with sexy intimacy and equal intensity.

I recommend this-and you should definitely give the rest of the connected series as well as this author’s other work a try if you haven’t already!

DNF at 20%. The insta-lust was too much, I could overlook the oddness of a “moose biologist” if he didn’t say “holy moose balls” the whole prologue was unnecessary intro of a whole bunch of characters that either die or aren’t part of the main story (and the reason vet MC is playing toxic masculinity “I need to punish myself by not taking my meds”) plus masturbation was referred to as a “selfie” which 🙄 I noped out of this when the other MC doubted there were “even a million candles in *all* of NH” and idk why that was too much but just so dumb and not worth 3 paragraphs of complaining. Can’t do it, maybe the style that sounds like it’s making fun of itself without actually being funny at all works for some people, but if you can’t even make me laugh by being bad on purpose then it’s just bad.

This is a sweet, fun, sexy and quick read with great characters and a beautiful setting. Hyde and Greer are complete opposites but they have an instant connection and smoking hot chemistry. They both have a lot of baggage from their pasts but hopefully they will be able to see that they are exactly what the other needs. Hyde's grumpy and prickly exterior is a mask for the incredible pain he is living with and Greer is a sweetheart who wants to help Hyde anyway he can. I love how their relationship develops even though Hyde is determined to remain aloof. The ending is great but I really wish that this story was longer as I fell in love with these characters.

Winter romance with two flawed men and a snow-storm creates a fun read.  The character development was exceptional and the story-line was engaging and well crafted.  The details of the story really created a living experience for the reader.  Forced proximity is one of my favorite tropes and this story does it so well.

Hyde and Greer are really different men, with different experiences, however their differences create the foundation of true connection.  I enjoyed how both men slowly let down their walls and really connected.  This is a rewarding story to read and enjoy.

This is book four of the Snowed In - Valentine's Inc. series and can be read as a stand-alone book.

I was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my honest opinion and review.

Greer is a moose researcher and Beck (Hyde) is a recovering soldier blaming himself for the deaths and injuries of his team when an IED gets them. He’s surly to the max and when a storm causes the hotel to evacuate, Greer decides to stay and he and Beck are trapped in the hotel without power. It doesn’t take the long to get down and dirty and Greer starts to get over being jilted at the alter until the power comes back and Beck turns back into an asshole.

I understood that Beck had guilt issues, that’s fine, but he was just generally mean and surly and I didn’t have much connection to him. I thought Greer and his moose enthusiasm was fun and appealing. So may just depend on whether Beck rubs you the wrong way or not.

It all started with Hyde being snow dazed… and a red parka.

This was a bit emotional. Both Hyde and Greer had things happen in the past that they were affected by differently, but it was pain all the same.

I really enjoyed this story, but I have to say that I was a bit confused about the connection they had after them being intimate the first time. I personally didn’t feel it and I didn’t really feel the connection between the two until they played out in the snow. Even then I had a hard time feeling their connection at times.

It was still a sweet story that held my attention. I thought both Hyde and Greer were really nice guys and both deserved to find happiness.

Snow Daze is a quick read, but still full of heart. It's opposites-attract and forced-proximity, with one very grumpy MC who can't help but fall for the adorkable moose biologist who happened to get himself stranded at the resort. Greer and Hyde were both well-developed characters, and Hyde especially, was so closed off and broken that he wasn't really living. It was heartbreaking watching him come to terms with his past, but being his charmingly adorable and caring self, Greer just made everything better.

OMG! Emotive, funny and all the “adorkable” feels you could want!!

I loved this size difference, lust at first sight, miscommunication style romance. From the opening Prologue, I was in tears; to the introduction of Greer, I couldn’t help but smirk. I loved the injected wit and humor while respecting the PTSD and scars of the troubled past of both characters. I loved Hyde and Greer and read their story in one sitting!! A fantastic short read from a favorite 1-click author!!!

I also loved the added cameo of Lennox & Granger from Kissing Booth!!!

Snowed in hotel? Falling in love was required

This book in the Valentines Inc universe hit every button. We had grumpy Gus and the smol sunshine and they were snowed in.

The characters had depth to them despite the novella length. You felt for Hyde as he hid away and the big personality of Greer’s well you know that was a cover up.

Pandora’s writing is fun and exciting. She can make you feel the weather and cry along with the men.

If you want to try any of the Snowed In, this is a good gateway book.

Snow Daze is a sweet, funny, romantic book. Hyde and Greer are stuck in a blizzard together. Hyde is very standoffish because of what happened during his military career. Greer is a moose biologist that has no idea about the dangers that are in woods. They both are attracted to each other from the moment they meet and once they are trapped together they get to know each other. It's another great book by Pandora Pine.

This was a sexy and intense novella, and I really enjoyed it. Hyde made me angry several times, though I understood how much his history made things difficult for him. Greer was adorable, understanding, and incredibly patient with the big man he was growing closer to. These two had chemistry for days, and the times they got together were fiery hot. I'm enjoying the multi-author Snowed In series, and this is a great addition!

A great read that is a wonderful addition to this multi-author series. Hyde and Greer are wonderful characters who have incredible chemistry that explodes whenever they get together. Hyde carries around a lot of guilt and pain which has caused him to build walls around himself. It was great seeing the patience Greer has with Hyde and seeing Greer help Hyde knock down his walls little by little. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Oh my heart!!! Despite his gruff exterior, I fell so hard for Hyde/Beck. My heart hurt for him and I loved watching Greer bring him back to life. They were so damn sweet together (when Hyde wasn’t being a grump-lol). Greer was such a sweetheart. I loved his moose tracking and his ability to ground Hyde and his calm demeanor. I loved this so much.

Brilliant a must read

Didn't think I would enjoy this book but loved the story. Greer is such an adorable character who has had a solitude 2 years since his fiance left him at the altar, and Hyde is an ex marine who has lost too many friends due to the war and blames himself . With Greers help and love he can start to live again.
Would recommend will bring tears to your eyes and love for Beck and Greer

I loved the setting and I loved the MC’s and their backstory and the sexy times were very sexy but the insta-love at the beginning was a bit of a struggle for me. I need more than instant physical attraction, so I would have loved more interaction before they got together.
So it basically comes down to the usual: the story being too short for my liking and the whole insta-love/lust. So it’s completely me and not the book!

Wooly and his boy

This is the first thing I've ever read from the author. It was good, it was tightly written and I liked the characters. The sensual scenes were perfunctory, like they had to be there because of what the book was not because they were necessary.

Hyde and Greer were great and their story seemed short but only because I wouldn't mind spending some more time with them. Not a bad read at all.
