Writing Our Love #3

Paper Snowflakes

Rate this book

Who knew a white-out could bring two men clarity?

Cameron - There’s something about an older man that drives me wild, but when he’s an amazing father too... swoon-worthy. After avoiding my secret crush for months, Mother Nature steps in and gives me a nudge—the question is, am I brave enough to take my shot?

Ryan - Raising a kindergartener at forty-eight leaves me no time or energy for emotional attachments, just random hook-ups. At least that’s what I think until I get snowed in with the luscious—much younger—teacher.

While snowflakes are falling, there’s a dog to be walked, a snowman to build, and a fire to snuggle by. Maybe finding forever isn’t as complicated as they thought.

Paper Snowflakes is a standalone book in the Snowed In - Valentine’s Inc. series, which are only connected by the same writing prompt.

Sammi Cee was raised in a family of readers. Summer vacations consisted of a good book while sitting lakeside from as far back as she could remember. After growing up and having her own children, her appreciation of how the written word could transport you on an adventure, bring you to tears, or give you hope, took on a whole new meaning.

These days Sammi is watching her children develop into fine young ladies while doing the things she enjoys most: drinking coffee, eating chocolate, and writing her own stories.

An adorable, mushy, fun, love story ...

Completely adorable, a short Valentine story that feels longer. Teacher Cameron, 25, watches over Stuart, 5, until he’s picked up from school in a blizzard. Big silver fox, Ryan, 48, and Stuart end up at Cameron’s, and snowed in for the weekend. This is sweet, funny, heartwarming and fanciful. We see surprising reveals and happiness galore. It’s a Valentine story in a new set that has different authors for each tale. The blurb says it is less that 30 minutes, but that is incorrect, because it’s about two hours long and worth every minute ! Mushy, yes, with an “over the top” Valentine’s Day, and epilogue.
Enjoy !

This is a sweet story, and I liked the main characters - especially the scenes including Ryan, Cameron, and Stuart. The author does a nice job showing the connection between these three.

Sadly, for me, the story looses momentum around 75% and a few things just didn't work for me. Cameron's bestie and Ryan's ex-wife? And their 'operation' to snag the hot daddy bear? It just went on a bit too long and took too much focus away from the romance, which is a shame.

However, as a super nice May/December with a child bopping around? It's a strong 3⭐ read.

Super cute addition to the Snowed In series! I really adored little Stuart and his personality. And, of course the sweetness between Cameron and Ryan was swoon worthy. Recommend if you like low angst, age gap and a hea that’ll leave your heart melting!

I loved this little story so much. Stuart just made this book so much better and Cecelia and Katy as well. It’s so funny and sassy, snarky and just good hearted romance. I had such a good time reading this.
Cameron has always been a little wary of Stuart’s Pops. Not that he’s a bad man, but because he ticks every box that Cameron has for a man. So, he’s done his best to avoid the man before he embarrasses himself. But on this day, he’s had to wait with Stuart because of a early dismissal due to a snowstorm. A snowstorm that wasn’t supposed to turn into a blizzard. And because of the snow, Cameron didn’t want them to get hurt in a wreck, so he invited them to stay until it was safe to travel. And his every dream came true that weekend. But as they are getting to know each other, they find out some things that are causing Ryan a few problems. Mainly, that Cameron is two years younger than he son would be if he was still alive. A few others are causing issues, minor ones, but Ryan’s ex-wife and Cameron’s best friend are determined to get them together. They just have to figure out if that’s what they really want or if they just want to move on.
Stuart, Ryan’s grandson, is a 5 yr old who you would swear was 35. He’s so wise for his years. And his snarkiness and just down right kid speak logic, just makes you laugh so dang hard. He’s just so point blank dead on in things he says. And you can’t argue with what he says most times, because it’s dead on. It’s just downright hilarious. And it’s even funnier because everyone is trying not to giggle at him but it’s so hard. But what I love too, is that Cameron, once he gets Ryan in his grasp, as shy and nervous as he is, he doesn’t give up. He knows what he wants and it’s Ryan. All Ryan. And he loves that Stuart comes with the package. Yeah, he gets highly embarrassed by Cecelia and Katy’s antics, and even more so when Ryan is figuring things out. But he’s still determined for Ryan to be his. But he’s scared. Because he isn’t for sure what Ryan wants and Ryan’s already made noises about being so much older than him.
It’s such the sweetest little story. I loved it so much. It gives you such a romantic feel with such joy and laughter to go with it. It’s just perfect.

I don’t usually give such short stories more than three stars, but these are so darn sweet. I love an age gap story. Cameron (which is my middle name) is such a sweety and Ryan is such a silver fox. I love Ryan’s bossy ways and how responsive Cameron was to being bossed around. Although I had trouble thinking of Stuart as 5 years old, I still love a story with a precocious child. This story even has a dog. I skipped the second book because I don’t like 3 ways. I prefer my men one on one. If you don’t mind 3 ways then I recommend the second book as well.

This book seriously needed another round of edits. And I swear the author has never meet a 5 year old…chemistry between the two characters? Couldn’t find it here. The second half of this book was just constantly reading the word Babe✌🏼barf
2 stars for the dog tho

This is another good little read. Cameron has a huge crush on Mr Hill. Luckily Stuart isn’t in his class so he manages to avoid Mr Hill. That is until they get snowed in.

Stuart or C.M. is old beyond his years. And so cute and adorable.

A sweet cute romance with a young teacher who lusts after a silver fox.

4.5 stars, rounded up.

This book checked all my romance reading boxes. There’s an age gap, a child, humor, and an outstanding cast of secondary characters. Of course, there’s an amazing romance as well.

Stuart is five. He is the most intelligent child I've ever seen in a book. But he also has the childlike innocence of a boy that age. I absolutely loved that kid. I'm a sucker for kids in books anyway, but it's so rare to come across one like Stuart.

Then there's the main couple, Ryan, who's forty-eight, and Cameron, who's twenty-five. I'm all about substantial age gaps so that was perfect for me.

I loved almost everything about this book - from Stuart, Ryan, and Cameron, to Cameron's best friend and Ryan's ex-wife. Those women were amazing. No token bitchy females here.

Excellent read. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Yet another deviation from my TBR piles, but again, this series (Snowed In) is linked to the Valentine's Inc series, much like the Cruises series. The second book in this series is titled "Paper Snowflakes," and it's by Sammi Cee.

This book was soooooo damn goooood! Like it just flowed, and they just meshed, and it was just so damn sweet! And when the book title came into play? Tears. The relationship between Cameron and Ryan was sweet enough, but add in the kid and Ryan's family and Cameron's friend? So. Many. LOLs.

Literally one of the best books I've read in a while. My only critique? A little more steam.

Operation Honey Trap

First thing, I have to share is Stuart is adorable and is 5 going on 35. He definitely has C.M. potential. I especially loved his conversation about "the good stuff." Second thing is Cecilia gives the best advice, she’s fantastic, and what a twist. Third is I am awed by paper snowflakes in all ways.

Ryan is high-handed but has a vulnerable side. I love him. Plus he’s so sexy; I’d volunteer to get snowed in with him and let him boss me around any day. Cameron is adorably awkward with his rambling and I love his nickname for Ryan. He’s feisty, kind, silly and amazing with children. I’m also willing to bet he’s beautifully lethal when he pouts.

“You come here.” Those may just be the hottest words in history. I’m so happy Ryan’s bossy nature extends to all aspects of his life. He and Cameron have sizzling chemistry and are so good together. They make my heart flutter and belong together like a bear with his honey. Stuart stole my heart but Cameron and Ryan should make “a tract between gennelman” to never change as they’re perfect just as they are. Gah, this book made me laugh, cry and it took a piece of my heart as I fell in love again and again.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:
A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series
from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year),
it's like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok)
It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the
whole line, dismissed, repeat the class

Paper Snowflakes, Sammi Cee's contribution to the multi-author Snowed In - Valentine's Inc series, is wonderful.

Ryan's background, which includes his ex wife, his son, and the reason he's raising his grandson, is developed in a great manner. It's a serious storyline, yet it's handled without any angst.

Stuart is a fantastic character; absolutely entertaining and adorable. I enjoy that he's a large part of the story, as it's completely realistic and relateable.

The writing is great, with intriguing characters, a sweet storyline, and some tender romantic moments.

My favorite scene is that which reveals the significance of the title. It's beautiful and memorable.

Paper Snowflakes is a perfect read when you're in the mood for a feel-good, angst free romance. You won't want to miss this sweet and tender Sammi Cee read.

Wonderful

Paper Snowflakes! When Cameron was left at school to see the last little boy off, after an emergency winter school closing, he had no idea that Stuart’s father was really his grandfather. Ryan had lost his son and daughter in law and became the legal guardian over Stuart. When Cameron’s car was covered in snow, Ryan had taken him home, only to be snowed in at Cameron’s place. For three days it was just the three of them. This story was written well. I really need more of them. It was sweet, adorable, loving, and let’s not forget about making “tract between two gennelman”. That was just the most precious thing when I first read it. This book will make you smile. I just love it. A 5 star ⭐️ book. 💜

These books are short and enjoyable

I so agree with another reader, it was great that the ex was a part of there life still and was not portrayed as some evil person like 98% of books. Its was so refreshing.
This series is easy to read no drama full of love just nice stories. The cover to loving Logan is the best cover of a book ever. Couldnt read the 2nd in the series as its a m/m/m, I am sure its great as they all appear in book 4 but I am a one on one person not into sharing.
Great reads

Operation Honey Trap is a success!

I’m enjoying the Snowed In series and this is a sweet edition. In addition to Ryan and Cameron being an adorable couple, the side characters Stuart, Cecelia, and Katy round out the story and give it life. Operation Honey Trap not only brings Ryan and Cameron together, but also combines two chosen families into one.

The Grandson!

When a Primary school teacher is waiting for the last Parent to collect a child from the school due to a severe weather warning, he realizes that they will have to travel home together and stay at his place due to the snow coming down worse than forecast. There begins interesting events.

A charming age gap romance

Ryan and Cameron have wonderful chemistry that leaps off the page. And Ryan's grandson, Stuart, is completely adorable and irrepressible.

Sammi Cee does a fantastic job crafting this sweet and sexy love story. It's an age gap romance that's well done and completely satisfying.

Started out strong

I liked the premise of the book. The writing was decent. But then the perfectly understanding exwife and annoying best friend showed up. Coupled with a five year old written like a stupid 16 year old and it goes downhill from there. Skipped a bunch just to finish. Can’t recommend.

This book is a age gap between a teacher and a grandfather student (yeah grandpa, but they got their son young on this family)
I didnt really enjoye that short story, it was short and sweet. A past time to read but nothing more for me. But I may be biased since I already knew that age gap is not my favorite. Great value and sweet relationship with the ex wife, husband's wife and everybody.

These just keep getting better and better. Stuart is such an adorable young man especially with his ‘tracts between gennelman,’. I’d love to see the kids in this series get their own books. My heart hurt for Ryan and Cee but I’m so happy they each got their own HEA’s bc they all deserve it especially Cameron and Ryan. 🖤🔥💘🔥🖤

So good

Another amazing cute, sweet short story. I absolutely loved it. The only concern I have is with Stuart. In the book it says he's 5 I believe but he talks and in some ways acts older. I know it says he has intelligence but even with it just seems like he's older. But all in all a good book I would definitely recommend

so sweet

There isn’t a book by this author I haven’t loved. Each one I think yep, this is my favorite. Ryan and Cameron were the sweetest couple and omg little Stuart was adorable. Even Katy and Cecilia were great side characters. This was a short read but so fun to sit down and read in a few hours.

Cute but choppy

The editing on this seemed to go downhill from about 50% on. Even just some page breaks to show a transition would have helped. I wouldn’t make a big deal but it really did make me have to go back and see if I missed something. It’s a cute story and I have no problem with the plot or sweetness, just the editing.
