Discover the remarkable life of Amelia Earhart... Free BONUS Inside!
Amelia Earhart was a legend—but perhaps an unlikely one at that. You see, Amelia Earhart was not always the dashing heroine that most of us associate with her name. She began life as a rather shy girl, who often found herself having to hide from her troubled upbringing. As her family life spiraled out of control, Amelia Earhart was forced to move from state to state, town to town, never getting the chance to put down roots. The high school she graduated from was one of many she attended, and a caption by her photo for that semester’s yearbook seems to have said it all. It read, “the girl in brown who walks alone.” But even as her peers scoffed at the girl in brown slacks who walked a lonely path, Amelia Earhart was charting a course for a tremendous destiny.
In this book, we will follow all of the hurdles that this heroine surmounted in order to become one of the most famous pilots of all time.

I have admired Amelia Earhart ever since I was a teenager. Amelia was a woman who had important things to accomplish and succeed in many of them. She broke records and showed women that they could do anything they wanted. I enjoyed getting to know more about Amelia's life and her unfortunate death .
What a brilliant read. Amelia is truly deserving of the accolades, hero, icon and trendsetter. Amelia truly was, and still remains so wonderfully inspirational to all women and men alike. She pushed herself to the ultimate limits, and sadly paid the ultimate price. This book truly reads like a best selling fictional adventure novel, which adds a lot of credit to this author, but so much more importantly to the impeccable Amelia Earhart herself. This is a powerful MUST Read.
Don't expect an in-depth biography, this is more the highlights or cliff notes version. Even with that being said, it was a good read. I learned more of Amelia Rather d's early life than I did before. For a short read, this gives a good grasp of the highlights of Amelia's life.
I enjoyed this book so much. I think the stories about Amelia Earhart are very interesting and an interesting part of history. I have several hourly history books including starting to read about our Presidents beginning with George Washington. There are currently 24 and hopefully 22 more will be written soon - although there are 3, I really have little interest in reading - although I probably will simply because I said I would read all of the biographies - not because I have an interest in those Presidents. Can you guess which 3 I mean?
Amelia Earhart’s life and tragic disappearance holds a fascination to many. I found her life story riveting. She was fearless and ahead of her time. She was the first person to fly solo nonstop across the United States and the second person to fly solo across the Atlantic.
I enjoyed reading about her upbringing and the events that led to her love of flying. The book is concise but informative.
I saw the movie about Amelia Earhart that was very good. So I decided to buy the book today to read about her I even brought an audio book to listen to it.
The book was good so I think the ratings should be a 5 stars! I will recommend to anyone that wants to read about Amelia Earhart!
Amelia Earhart was one of the few female pilots of her time. She set about breaking records and disappeared trying to fly around the world in the late ‘30s. The mystery of her disappearance has never been solved. I didn’t know much about her life, and this 44-page biography about a true adventurer was interesting and concise. I hope they solve the mystery someday.
Earhart was a feminist before that was a cause. She never hesitated to go after what she wanted, even though she was a woman. This book was a quick look at the highlights of Amelia's life, and her ultimate disappearance. I recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in history. It was a good read.
Lots of excellent information about Amelia Earhart's life and her accomplishments. This book covers as much as could be said in the amount of pages allotted. 80 years since her disappearance and still news worthy. I can't wait to read more about this remarkable woman.
I love these short, concise history books. They give you the information that you desire without a bunch of fluff. I wish history books were like this when I was in school, I know I would've been a better history student and might've even developed a love for it.
So, two more people vanished. That is scary. How does this keep happening?
I've discovered from reading longer biographies and Wikipedia entries, that about this length is the best. I don't want to know what grade they got on their English paper in 3rd grade, but I want more than a couple paragraphs. This takes about an hour to read, which is about perfect. Kind of like watching a special on TV but with no commercials.
Well-written and easy to follow the life of Earhart. Ups and downs of her life, as well as what I'm finding is the success of one from a broken home, and a loser father.
I hate the conspiracy theories, but understand the need in this material.
I’m really enjoying the Hourly History book series. Enough details to pique your interest without being overly complicated. In this book we have Amelia Earhart, the legendary pilot that disappeared while attempting the last leg of her flight around the globe. An inspiration to all!
A quick & interesting read. One has to wonder what additional greatness she would have achieved had she not disappeared when she did. The author writes just enough to keep the reader flipping the pages rapidly and quite disappointed when the last page is finished.
Though I've heard about Amelia Earhart probably since my earliest school years (late 1950s), this is the first biography I've read about her. It was very interesting.
This was a well done book about Amelia Earhart. There was so much good information. Even though she died to soon she set good examples for other people. I really enjoyed this book from start to finish.
A fair telling of the story, over simplified. The 'Friendship' transatlantic part was very confusing. No initial mention was made that it was a seaplane. Perhaps passable for children or young adults.
The book is a quick read, but very interesting. Reading about her upbringing and life leading up to the last flight was informative. Very much enjoyed it and plan on reading more about Earhart in the future.
I needed this book. Without realizing it I had developed a slightly negative view of Amelia- perhaps due to various video presentations. In any case, I got a better picture of this woman away from the planes. Good book.
A quick read about one of the most famous women of the 20th century.I learned a few things I hadn't known before. I also liked how they mention the various theories about her disappearance, while not convincing the reader to subscribe to any certain one.
