My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with.
I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.
I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters.

Vinny, Vinny, Vinny, you really had me scared for a minute there.
Given how he was portrayed in the previous books, I really expected it to be worse than it was. Sure his horn-dog ways were constantly there, but after he met Annalissa, there was no one else to him.
Still something that was really getting on my nerves was his constant thing of "I can’t remember the last time I had (this or that) with a woman". Ok, we get that he fucked and left them, so never had a normal relationship, with normal things like, I don't know, have a CONVERSATION with a woman, but enough is enough. I don't want or need that every time he does something with the h, to read that it's the first time for him doing it. I'm a clever enough person to assume that it's a novelty for him, after reading about it once. Normally I love to see it written, so that I feel that the h is special, but in this case, the repetition just degraded the act, and reinforced is past über manwhoring ways.
And his promiscuous past was always being rubbed in your face,
and in Annalissa's,
and I'm a bit tired to always point out that "less is more", even if the author chooses to portrait a H with a manwhoring past, please don't force the subject on us so many times, either in H's thoughts or speech, and especially not with so many obnoxious appearances of OW, rubbing his past in h's face. You can still have the trope without crossing the line to disgusting.
At least he had the decency of being ashamed about it, and I think that's why it didn't bother me as I thought it would. That and the fact that it was all before meeting Annalissa. After that he flipped a switch and became Mr. Devoted and Loving.
All in all, it was a lovely read, again the subplot was envolving, although I could go whithout all those swimming lessons, and the rest of the Alvarey Security gang showed what they do best: their inconditional support to each other. OMG, and the Epilogue was just wonderful and adorable!

He stammered, realizing how pathetic he sounded. Suddenly the joke from his buddies about being a fuck ’em and leave ’em guy did not make him very proud. In fact, he felt rather ashamed. He peered into her face, seeing a look of misery. Oh Jesus, how do I make this right?
“It was only ever physical. Just two people acting on a physical need. Never, ever did I feel an emotion with any of them.”
At least he had the decency of being ashamed about it, and I think that's why it didn't bother me as I thought it would. That and the fact that it was all before meeting Annalissa. After that he flipped a switch and became Mr. Devoted and Loving.
“What I feel for you has nothing to do with games. You’re strong and funny. You’re beautiful and sexy, without even trying. You make me feel things that I’ve never felt. And all I want right now is to kiss you. But you gotta do it. It’s gotta come from you.”

“Okay, baby. Here it is. I want you and I want to see where this goes. You stopped being a job to me, but wanting to make you happy and wanting you with me, is my mission now.”
Thoughts of all other women fled from his mind. There was no one. No one for him, but the beautiful woman in his arms.
“Because I never cared about anyone before you. Because I’ve fallen in love with you. And because the thought of anyone else seeing a part of you that’s only for me, makes me crazy,” he confessed nervously.“You...you love me?” she whispered, forgetting to breath.
“Yeah, but I know a man like me doesn’t deserve someone like you,” he said, his eyes gazing deeply into hers. Give me a chance, baby. Please. He watched her own eyes tear up. Stepping closer, he reached his hand out to touch her cheek. “Breathe, baby,” he reminded.
She gasped as she leaned her face into his hand. The warmth of his touch melted into her.
“Tell me I’ve got a chance. I know I’ve live wild and rough, but please tell me that you might feel something for me too.”

All in all, it was a lovely read, again the subplot was envolving, although I could go whithout all those swimming lessons, and the rest of the Alvarey Security gang showed what they do best: their inconditional support to each other. OMG, and the Epilogue was just wonderful and adorable!

Vincent "Vinny" Malloy has just been giving a protection escort detail assignment for a musician but not given any detail on the musician just on what needs to be done. He is surprised when he is taken to the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Still not knowing who is escorting he listens backstage and sees a beautiful woman playing the harp and the music she plays stirs many feelings within him including a old haunting memory. He is then taken to the dressing room of his assignment to wait for them to get off stage and is again surprised when the person turns out to be the Harpist.
Annalissa O'Brian is being jostled back to her dressing room. Her team begins to overwhelm her with all their talking and is saved from having a panic attack by the good looking guy in the back of the room. She learns that he is her escort detail order by her father to see to her harp's (which is named Easnadh) safe return since it is a expensive piece as well as Annalissa.
They both think nothing major will happen since this is a very simple assignment but things take a turn when the plane ride gets sidetracked and they discover that the harp is being used to smuggle drugs. The people who planted it are determined to get it back and wipe out any witnesses. They are now after the couple and they must now try to get back home without being killed. The thing is as they are on the run to get home the attraction they feel to each other can't be denied but Vinny wonders if Annalissa will be able to accept him for his least than stellar past and Annalissa wonders if Vinny can want someone like her for long.
I loved this story. I loved the on the run part of the books because it always reminds me of Romancing the Stone. I love the heroine and the hero. He was a alpha but so sweet to the heroine and she was sweet and shy but also someone who gained so much as the story went on. I have friends who will love this and ones who won't. It has a manho hero and virgin heroine. It has some OW drama. But it also had a hero all about the heroine and a sweet heroine who finds her voice. I loved it more this time on my re-read since it didn't have a couple fighting the relationship but more going for it even when issue came up.

Better than the previous book (Tony's book), esp the threat was closely related to h.
I just didn't understand the repeat of H's thought about how he wished to wake up every morning at the sight of h sleeping by his side and didn't want to look back at his man-whore life style…etc. It was nice to read he found how in love with h he was the 1st time, but when similar sentences repeated again and again whenever there were morning scenes, I just wanted to skip them.

I loved writing this book!! It is the 3rd in the Alvarez Security Series, but we first me these wonderful men in Love's Taming (the Love's Series). Vinny is Gabe's twin. His character was more laid-back than his brothers-in-arms. He liked the women willing, his beer cold, and his music loud and rocking. Never expecting opposites to attract, he was bowled over by his mission assignment...escorting a quiet, shy, symphony harpist. But when danger followes her, they begin a cross country trip toward safety...and love! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have enjoyed creating these wonderful characters.

I was lucky enough to have received an author copy and let me say this is by far one of my favorites. Maryann Jordan has given us yet another captivating story. We already have fallen in love with Vinny from the glimpse in the previous books but this book just makes your heart beat a million times more.
Vinny a former special forces officer works for alverez securities. Well one mission puts him on a soul changing path and it's one that will have you on the edge of your set. He is a total alpha male, protective of what he sees as family and HIS. But then we see the sweetest Man Underneath it all but don't be fooled by the panty melting smile because he has no problem handling his business.
Annalissa is a Celtic harp player who loves to play her music but hates the publicity and press of it all. But unable to voice this she allows those to run her life. That is until on tall hunk of a man is tasked with providing her safety back home.
But trouble lurks, and those whom you thought you could trust you are now questioning them. But fear not because our Alverez crew is on the case.

But the problem is she's in danger, but she's unsure why or from who. That's Vinny's job to find out. These two must work together, and keep their attraction on the down low before it is all too late.
This book was really well written and very interesting. I enjoyed the plot line, and suspense. As well as the romance. However, it seemed to drag on at times, and that got a little frustrating. But other than that I really liked the book.

These books are totally guilty pleasures for me. I love the total caveman approach with shy timed heroines.
This was a great story. It was interesting, fun, sexy, charming, cute. I mean I could go on and on. All you need to know is Alpha male, shy, timid heroine and people out to take advantage of her that the H will not stand for.

As I said before I have enjoyed this author's writing very much. It is always simple , to the point , easy to read. There is always drama , heartache , hot sex and beautiful stories of love. I enjoy how the stories cross over and all of the characters past , present and future make themselves known. I knew Vinny's story would be great because he is known for his womanizing ways so I couldn't wait to see him get knocked on his behind when he finally fell for someone !! This book took a different approach , we got out of town and went on a little road trip , an adventure !!
Annalisa is a musician but where Vinny is expecting to find some hot as sin rocker chick he is pleasantly surprised by the super talented harpist. Almost immediately smitten Vinny sets out on his mission to transport this special harp yet he insists on protecting Annalisa just as much. When trouble strikes the real adventure begins. Smuggled drugs , overbearing father , manager and publicist make for great suspects in this mystery of who put the drugs there , why and for how long. I love how despite not being written in characters POV's we get glimpses into every character good and bad. I love the little clips in between , wondering who the heck it is and when we will find out. Vinny and Annalisa develop a bond , they may succumb to desires not suitable for this mission but they are yummy and make for a great distraction. Reading these men all working together again to protect those they love gives me butterflies !! Such amazing men and such great stories they all have. One of my favorite things about these books is that the prologue gives you the stories of their pasts , when they served together , when they were fighting for freedom and sacrificing a little of themselves each day for the safety of others. You see how it started for them and why their bonds are so true. Even just those little pieces we get help you to understand why they are the men they are today and helps you to connect to their struggles and wish the best for them !! Look forward to what Maryann has for us next !!

Ugh. 2.5 stars, and I'm being generous about that.
I really wanted to love Vinny's story, but this was not my favorite.
Vinny Malloy, the twin brother of Gabe and former special forces, is loving life. He's got a great job, a healthy family, and all the girls he could want. With a perfect body, great face, and charming persona, he picks up a different girl every night.
So when his boss Tony sends him to LA to help a musician safely reach Richmond, he's shocked to find the most beautiful girl he's laid eyes on.
Annalissa O’Brian, a concert harpist, hasn't been able to live much of her life. As a child prodigy, she's been playing concerts professionally her entire life. With her father financing her life and a team of people managing her every move, she's never just been able to live. So when the sexy agent sent to protect her brings out a side of herself she never knew existed, she's determined to find out more about herself.
However, the trip doesn't go as planned. After finding drugs inside her precious harp, the instrument Vinny was sent to protect, he knows someone is after her. Determined to keep her safe, they leave on foot and have to find their way to Richmond without anyone's aid.
This story was so cliched I was rolling my eyes. Jordan has been so good about balancing romantic tropes while creating new storylines we haven't seen before. This was every lame trope in existence.
Man-whore? Check!
Blushing virgin? Check!
Man-whore willing to give up man-whore ways for blushing virgin? Check!
Insecurity over lopsided sex life? Check!
Heroine depends on every man to take care of her? Check!
Hero wants to wait, inevitably making insecure girl thinks she's not good enough for man-whore? DOUBLE CHECK!
Obvious villain? Check!
The only thing that saved it was the ending. That had action and intensity that the rest of the book was missing. While I figured out who was behind everything very fast, it was still enjoyable to read the last several chapters.
Definitely not her best and worst for the series.

This is such a great series that when the time came for this one I was more than ready for it. This series has offered up some great suspenseful stories with characters that drill into your heart. I was also curious to see if it could get any better than it already has been. It opens up with a foundation that is riveting and informative to help give insight on more of what makes Vinny tick. Having already known he was a twin I feel though he is the more intense of the two. So it tells of some of the broken that lay inside of him. He is also determined that he is only a one nighter and not long term when it comes to women. Now when a special case came along as a escort to a musician he is kept in the dark about whom, but he is picked because he will give his all. Talk about how he will be blown away in a different sort is when he meets his detail. It would also take someone as intense as him though to knock him out of his notion about woman and the special qualities she will need. Not sure why he is to do this he thus meets Annalissa's and her Celtic harp and the journey begins. This author will compose a journey with the "three of them" that will be not quite any other so far of the men in this security team. This will deal alot also of the depths of the heart while they are running from danger after they find that someone has planted something worth a whole lot and retrieving it means death could happen if unlucky enough to be in the way. While they work as a team they will discover each other while love builds between them, healing magic being the adhesive at times. The danger will be so intense at times you could cut it with a knife but it also will be alittle different than the previous two. By the time you reach the conclusion in this one Vinny if asked I think would be singing a different tune also, plus this author has given her best yet leaving you spent from the rollercoaster ride. She too will have found her voice and the courage to pair it with love.

When I stumbled across this author's Love series, she completely captivated me and since then, I just keep coming back. Her alpha males fight hard and love even harder. And one thing you can expect is when they fall, they fall so hard that they will do anything they can for the woman they love. This book is part of a series and is a standalone but I promise you will want to read them all.

When I stumbled across this author's Love series, she completely captivated me and since then, I just keep coming back. Her alpha males fight hard and love even harder. And one thing you can expect is when they fall, they fall so hard that they will do anything they can for the woman they love. I was lucky enough to have received an author copy and let me say this is by far one of my favorites. Maryann Jordan has given us yet another captivating story. We already have fallen in love with Vinny from the glimpse in the previous books but this book just makes your heart beat a million times more.
Vinny a former special forces officer works for alverez securities. Well one mission puts him on a soul changing path and it's one that will have you on the edge of your set. He is a total alpha male, protective of what he sees as family and HIS. Fantastic third book in this series. We get Vinny in this one. If you have read the previous books you will know that Vinny is the twin brother to Gabe. He is a man whore a man who never sees a woman more than once and not ever takes them to his place. He is sent on a mission to escort a musician back to Richland. Tony Alvarez his boss gave him very little details. Well Vinny is blown away by the woman he is sent to escort. Her music is what first moves him and then when he lands his eyes on her he is hooked. The writer does a fantastic job of giving us just enough action, suspense and romance to wrap it up neatly. I cannot wait to see who is next in this series. If you like strong alpha males, and equally strong females then this is a great series for you to read.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, compassion, suspense, and heartbreak.

Maryann Jordan did it again! I LOVED this book! It had romance; it had suspense; it had love! I absolutely loved the characters! The story line flowed perfectly! The pages kept turning as I got deeper and deeper into the story! Maryann writes in such a way that you feel you know the characters. You can picture them and feel like you are right there with them. I love books that take you away from your world and immerses you in someone else's life.
Vinny is the ultimate playboy. He is all about one night stands. He NEVER brings a girl back to his place. He goes to their place for a fun time and leaves before the sun comes up. He likes his music the same way he likes his women. Hard rock with a banging beat is the only way for him. That is until a specific security detail comes up. He is assigned to escort a musician from California back to Virginia. Just another mission, or so he thinks. Who is the musician that rocks Vinny's world? How does this mission turn into something more? What dangers lie ahead?

Mmmm, it was fine. Nice to read once but I don’t find myself wanting to read it again. Nothing wrong with it and it’s not bad but it just didn’t captivate me. I liked the plot but the characters didn’t blow me away, I think there was just too much a case of instalove. There was no excitement in seeing them fall in love, it was like they had a little fight and then they fixed it and boom, that was it, they were both in love with each other without saying it. It wasn’t boring by any means, but it just went too fast in making them a couple and didn’t show the fun part of beginning a new relationship and developing those jittery cutesy moments of getting to know someone.
I guess I know what to expect from this author by now. She writes good books but I’m totally fine reading it once and not picking it up again. They’re too cheesy for me and the terms of endearment come way too fast and honestly bring the book down because after the first time they use it, it’s all the freakin time and that seems to solidify that they’re together and serious. It’s hard to explain because it’s not that I don’t like them but I don’t love them either. There’s just something missing in this author’s books for me that I get from other books. I think it’s the lacking of relationship building because her characters aren’t boring people but it comes across like that. I’ll leave it at that though and hope that the “Saints” series shows improvement in her writing. Now on to the last one...

Vinny's story is the best of the Alvarez series. Annalissa O'Brian is a concert musician, playing a Celtic harp in concerts all over the country. She is somewhat shy and self-effacing, but can assert herself when it comes to the protection of her instrument. It is a special harp, having been found as a broken antique and been restored by her music teacher.
When Vinny hears her play, he is healed (as he tells her later). When he meets her and realizes he is assigned to protect her, he is totally consumed with keeping her safe. When her beloved harp becomes the center of some intrigue (Think hollow sections in the frame) they are forced to flee from the usual methods of travel. On the road, besides facing danger, they face their feelings and fall in love. Vinny is determined that nothing will harm Annalissa or her harp. However, her entourage seems to be working against them. They have to be smarter and more determined to make their way. Good one; still minus one star.

As Vinny and Annalissa travel across the country trying to stay one step ahead of danger. Their chemistry becomes so strong that the began to act on their feelings. This is the first book that I've read from Maryann Jordan and it won't be my last. She knows how to write a book that grabs your attention and doesn't let go till the last page.

This is the third in the Alvarez Security series and my favorite so far. Vinny and Annalissa are opposite as can be but when circumstances throw them together their chemistry can not be denied. Vinny is hired to keep her safe and what started as a simple job turned into much more than he expected. This story is full of suspense, twist and turns and some steamy sex scenes as the two travel across the country trying to avoid danger and keep Annalissa safe. This book had me hooked from the start and kept me on the edge of my seat all the way to the end.

Soul changing
There really is no other way to describe it. I can't believe how Ginny and Annalissa became entwined with each other so quickly but it was a beautiful story! I just love the Alvarez Security Men. I don't think I say enough about how each of their women so profoundly belong to them. The women are equally as strong as the men and they hold their own with their men. I love how the men are so serious about protecting their women and the women let them know that they are not sniffling little girls who can do nothing for themselves! Great series!

I'm so blown away by this book. Maryann Jordan has written such a beautiful story that you are for sure going to love. The emotions in this book are written so well that this story fills your heart. Vinny and Annalissa start out as a mission but the music makes the love grow! I love the twists and turns and the suspense keeps you flipping the pages. I loved everything about this read. I would highly recommend this to any suspense romance lover.

Another awesome book by Maryann Jordan.
In the previous books. I had wondered what kind of person Vinny would fall in love with. I was glad that the person he fell in love with was a musician. Annalissa and Vinny together worked so well. Loved the way he said her music was soul changing. She needed him to have someone to let her be her own person. The things the did and how the story ends is wonderful. Love the epilogue, then the story in the future. Great job Maryann!!

Talk about another amazing read courtesy of Maryann Jordan!!! I can't get enough of her alphas and the sweet women they fall for!!! There is so much love from the gentle giants that I literally swoon with most things they say! But hey it's not all rainbows and ponies, there is also the thrown in suspense and something going on! I couldn't out this down and absolutely loved it! I know when I'm picking up Maryann Jordans newest book I will not be disappointed!!!!

Once again Maryann has written a very amazing book. Vinnie and Annalizza's story is like no other. Very romantic and intense in all ways. Just enough to keep me drawn in and hanging on to every word written. I highly recommend this book to all my friends. Now with only Jobe remaining I am in anticipation of it. Nail biting Agony.
