Allyson Lindt has been telling stories since before she could put the words on paper. She was lucky enough to marry her muse and soul mate. Their cats are their children, and when they’re not spending way too much time gaming, they’re building new worlds together. She loves a sexy happily-ever-after and helping deserving couples find their futures together.
Allyson Lindt's "Hard Flip" is the first book in the "Ridden Hard" series. "Hard Flip" isn't your typical skater boyfriend book. It isn't your average billionaire romance either. It's also not like other fake engagement stories. This is Allyson Lindt, so nothing is ordinary! The characters are amazing and there are great sex scenes, as usual. The plot elements combine in a new and interesting ways. I can't wait to read #2!

I’m a longtime fan of Allyson Lindt, having been reading - and loving - her wonderful books since the very first one came out. No surprise that I was (figuratively at least) jumping for joy when Hard Flip (the first book in her new Ridden Hard series) came out. Also no surprise that this was a fantastically enjoyable billionaire romance tale that demonstrates just how great a story teller Allyson Lindt is.
That, in a nutshell, is most of what I typically write in a review, other than noting if the leads have good chemistry (it’s superb here between hunky former skateboarding champ Mischa and his leading lady Ash), and how strong the cast, plot and writing are (all topnotch), etc. I’m going to do a bit more here as the publisher’s blurb isn’t really fair to poor Ash. She’s pretty special, and pretty altruistic both in how she takes care of her 14 year old sister Kelly (despite being out of work) and in the very act that brings her together with Mischa. Rather than breaking into his database she noticed problems with if while online looking for database administrator jobs and reports it to Mischa’s company. Admittedly she tried to get a job out of it, but that’s normal enough (even if it led to a misunderstanding)
All in all a great book with a nicely steamy romance that’s actually believable and fun.
I'm usually not to picky about the frame of a hot love story as long as it doesn't contradict something i know tof seem too out there. I was going along with this one fine until were finally got the details, and then they stayed to fall apart. . .Spoilers . . . I just don't see how it would be possible to have Kelly full time and not be her guardian. She wouldn't have been able to register her for school, which might have been fine if she stayed at the same school her dad registered her at, but would have fallen apart at junior high. She wouldn't have been able to get her medical insurance, and if something serious happened, would have had zero rights. Maybe this wasn't an issue for some reason, but if so, I would have liked to see acknowledgment that they were lucky or contacted dad for help or something.
I just did not see how donating part of the building block helped anything in the situation. Maybe I misunderstood and all it was was an FU that dad would get everything but that one building. But instead I just felt uninformed. I thought maybe the terms would make this a loophole, but that's never explained, nor does it explain how this will ultimately affect Mischa financially. I can't see how he'd keep the buildings but need to sell other assets as suggested.
rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. we meet Ash, a twenty smtg taking care of her younger sister whilst looking for a better job to support them. we meet mischa, real estate developer and former skateboarding champion who needs to sell a bldg. Ash is at a skate park with her sister when a handsome stranger comes to the park and she tells her sister who he is...and still has no clue. mischa is surprised by the blonde beauty..esp that she has no idea who he is. a little flirting and a coffee leave a lasting impression. they meet again when mischa gets a resume and screen shots from his website with security flaws and he is not impressed. he goes to find this guy and it turns out to be Ash...what are the odds plus he thinks ash is going to blackmail him. ash can't get over mischa at the door and what hes insinuating. fastfoward to a nasty fall, broken arm and Kelly calling mischa from the hospital. life can't get better for ash until mischa asks her to pose as his fiance and for her and Kelly to move in. mischa wants to impress some big wig and thinks ash can help him. drama, exes, secrets and scandal are everywhere but can mischa handle ash's biggest reveal?
I’ve read a few of these “fake” relationship books and some are entertaining and it doesn’t feel like women are such losers and men are winners and hot and successful and smart and get all the breaks and are heroes. I DNF at 23% but then skipped to 24% and cut my line when she received the eviction notice. At that point I was bored to death with the story and the characters. I was also insulted that a female author would continue to use her words and platform to create such a pathetic female lead. From the beginning of the story to the point were I stopped I can tick of 5 terribly negative and awful situations the female lead lives with and/or faced. The worst thing that the male lead faced was his origin story coming from Russia as a boy and that he didn’t have the family image his investor/partner wanted. As for romance…? It’s sophomoric and nonexistent. A kiss is shared and then this weird dislike that I’m sure the author thinks is sexual tension but is just poorly written tension between two people. Throwing this one in the trash.
When I read the blurb for this one, I'll admit that my first thought was 'another fake romance'. But, Allyson Lindt has surprised me before, so I cracked it open and dived in. Once again, this author has given readers a well-written, engaging romance that kept me turning pages. I absolutely loved Mischa with his big heart and determination to go after what he wants. Ash is typical of Lindt's heroines with her quirky personality and put it right out there attitude about her geekdom. She does have her secrets and a big self-esteem issue, which I usually don't care for in a heroine, but in Ash's case, it all works. She is a hard nut to crack and Mischa is just the hero to crack that shell. This author never fails to put together two characters who couldn't seem more different, yet they fit perfectly together. This first Ridden Hard book is a solid start to the series and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book to what's in store for Victoria and Tristan.
This was a totally surprising and wonderful book to read. Ash is unemployed and trying to support herself and her 14 year old sister, Kelly but things just don't seem to be going their way. While at a local skateboard park she meets Mischa who happens to be Kelly's idol but who's life is totally unknown to Ash. Integral to the storyline is how their lives become intertwined through several seemingly non related circumstances. There are so many ups and downs and things that kept me wondering if there was any way out of the mess they each seem to be in and I think you will enjoy the book as much as I did. The only downside of the book was the ending that was kind of abrupt and ends in a cliffhanger of sort prompting you to want to continue with the next book but does allow enough of a closure that you can read Hard Flip as a sole book.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
HOLY CRAP!!! OMG! Wow! This is one amazing read. If you're looking for a fast paced, action packed, easy to follow, smooth flowing read that captures your attention from the start. Congratulations my friends you've found it. With a whirlwind of emotions and unexpected surprises that kept me captivated until the last word. Oh man what an exciting and intense tale. A strong storyline that takes you on a wild ride. The characters were intriguing and complex. Following them along mesmerized as their personalities transformed and blended. Twists and turns abound with unexpected surprises around every corner. Your total focus is on the pages and your rear on the edge of your seat. The scenes were so realistic and believable with such graphic detailed descriptions that brought the read to life before my eyes. Yep, this is one hot number. Lindt did a phenomenal job bringing this read together beautifully. Fantastic job Lindt and thanks for sharing.
Mischa is a skateboard nerd and construction design mogul! Ash is a self taught computer geek! When they meet at a local skate park sparks fly! Little do they know the resulting heat will move to a new level! Out of desperation she applies for a job online pointing out a security breach in their web site and how she can fix it! This is the start of a new exciting and sexy series sure to be a hit with all geek loving readers! Sassy back talk and witty dialogue keep the story moving along at a good pace! Angst and self doubt are the spice that keep the heat high! One cheerful hero worshipping fan girl little sister keeps things real! This story has a lot going on but the flow is smooth as silk! The reader will be hard pressed to set this book down for even a few minutes!
This was less ‘geeky’ than I was expecting it to be. It still contains several random, wonderful pop-culture references and the heroine is a database administrator, so it does meet my nerd-girl qualifications. Mischa is sweet and charming, impulsive and sometimes clueless, but those just make him more human and more lovable. Ash’s history is painful and occasionally difficult to read without feeling her pain. People I know and care about have been affected by some of what she’s gone through and I connected deeply to her because of this. I loved watching this pair grow from the tragedies of their past to find their way together. I’m really looking forward to Tristan’s book. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
This is my first read by this author and I am so glad I gave this book a try! As a huge fan of this genre and Billionaire Romances in general, I'm always a little skeptical when a new one comes out because, let's face it, how many can you have, really? Well, this book is living proof that you cannot have enough! This story is flawlessly written and keeps the reader riveted to a great story, with well developed and intriguing characters, both ones you love to love and ones you love to hate! There are no let downs in this book anyway you look at it. A+ in the romance department, easy to follow storyline and leaves you wanting more stories involving Ash and Mischa. Read this book, you won't be disappointed!
Hard Flip is a a new fun sexy geek lovers series that follows Mischa Dozniyov three-time X Games Skate boarding champion & commercial real estate business owner & Georgia Ashleigh Taylor (Ash) a computer tech geek who's sweet & sassy with a bold personality. The witty banter between these two keeps you engaged. The background stories of the character's bring unexpected twists that are intertwined with secrets from their pasts that will keep you captivated until the end. I am looking forward to reading the next novel in this series which is Tristan Hough & Victoria (Mischa's ex.) I volunteerily reviewed an advanced reading copy of this book.
What a great story, I loved Ash and Mischa's story. He's a former skateboarding championship who now is the owner of a successful commercial real estate business. He's trying to overcome his wild reputation and clean up his image in order to appear more professional. He meets Ash who is taking care of her younger sister who is a skateboarder and sees Mischa. Their chemistry is strong and he convinces her to be his fake fiance. Lots of drama, miscommunication, family problems, and more drama. It's a well written story with great characters and a good story. I read an advance copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.
I absolutely loved Ash and Mischa's story! It was a very enjoyable read!
Mischa is a total charmer, and all around good guy. Ash has had a hard life, but is doing her best to make a good life for her little sister, Kelly. There isn't anything she won't do for her, including agreeing to a fake engagement.
Their story is full of passion, drama, jealousy, humor and so much more. You can't help but love the characters and want what is best for them, want them to get what they want, and when things go their way, you can't help but feel so happy for them! I got sucked into this story so much it felt like I knew them! A definite must read!
Absolutely loved this book. Mischa is a former professional skateboarder who now is a Real Estate Developer. Ash is trying to find a new job while raising her 14-year old sister, Kelly, since their wealthy father didn't seem to care to do the job. The two meet at a skate boarding park and although Ash had no idea who Mischa was, her little sister did. Sparks fly from first glance. Buy this book and go on a wild ride full of humor, hot romance, facing demons, outwitting your opponent, starting over, family, friendship, love and healing. Opposites do attract! Cannot wait for the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Another well written Allyson Lindt story that flowed effortlessly from the beginning to the end! There was a good blend of angst, conflict, and some steamy romance. Ash was her own worst enemy – conflicted by her past and struggling with self-doubt in her present. I loved Mischa and Ash as a couple, but could she overcome her insecurities enough to allow a real relationship with Mischa? I’m looking forward to “Hard Pack”, book 2 in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Love this book. Hard Flip is a fake fiance story with some page-turning twists. The dynamics between Ash and Misha are hot and steamy from the beginning. The plot and story arcs are well developed and flow smoothly...always a good thing. There is a lot going on in this book, between the relationship with Ash and Misha, Ash's sister and father, and the business drama. It all blends and overlaps seamlessly, making for a fun, intense, steamy, heartfelt read. I have no qualms about recommending this book. I received this book as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I received an ARC for an honest review. This is a great start to the series and can't wait to read more. I liked Ash and Mischa’s story. The sparks flew when they first met at a skatepark. Ash was applying for a job and noticed some security flaws within the website. Along with her resume, she sent screenshots of the security flaws. Mischa thinks the guy who sent in the screenshots is blackmailing him, so he goes out to find him. He’s surprised when Ash answers the door. It’s a great story and definitely worth the read
Well I’m sad so I’m not gonna be productive. And therefore, I read trashy romance books because I can’t focus on anything else. This actually wasn’t that bad, it lagged a bit in the middle. Also I’m done with the whole fighting thing in romance books, we all know it’s just to have a conflict for the climax. It doesn’t add anything, it’s just added drama for no reason. Also I don’t care about the characters who are gonna be in book two so I’m not continuing.
2.5 stars. Frustrated with the main character and her inability to open up and share her life with someone else. Yes, I get it. She has scars from her past. But when it come to telling others about it, she shared two things, leaving everything else to either be interpreted or simply forgotten.
How can you connect with a character when you can’t relate to the way they suffer, process and come to terms with their own demons?
This is book 1 in the Ridden Hard series and an amazing read. This book opens with a tattooed ex skater and an unemployed down on her luck girl who is raising her younger sister, theirs is a chance meeting that is life altering for all. A fast-paced hot and steamy, well written story. I can't wait to read further books in this series!
Falling for these characters. I love that though hey have baggage both Ash and Misha know how to adult. They have instant attraction but have to really work for the relationship. This book draws you into their lives. It is so easy to read I couldn't put it down. The strength in both of these characters just bowled me over.
I love Allyson Lindt stories, as their always fill of geekdom, subtle nerdiness, and the characters are strong, no matter what life throws at them. And, this story is no exception.
Now that I'm finished reading the story, my heart was shredded and put back together so beautifully in this story that I'm sitting here in awe. The amazing talent Allyson has to weave a story that is relateable, is phenomenal, and I love each of her stories. If this is your first glimpse of her work, grab them all, because I don't think you'll be disappointed!!!
Please note that I did receive an ARC of this book, and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
This is the first book by Allison I've read. Absolutely love it. Misha and Ash and both a little nerdy and alot of fun. I love how well she got us in to their feelings and showed us the things of the past that were affecting then and that they were able to over come to find love. can't wait to read the next book in this series.
Ash is a geeky and sweet girl with a side of feistiness to her. When her sister tells her how excited she is to have met Mischa, former world championship skateboarder-turned-real estate mogul, it's fun and steamy times at its best. The dialogue was engaging and lively, and their chemistry was so hot. Great job with this geek and billionaire romance!
Loved the story between Ash and Mischa, what amazing characters these are. She is struggling with trying to raise her sister and he is struggling trying to figure out where his life is going after the xgames. When they meet the chemistry is there, and with one tiny lie they become much more. These two have face a few obstacles trying to be and stay together and one is Ash's own mind.
