Forbidden Miracles

Rate this book
In this unforgettable sequel to her best-selling autobiography, Miracle of Miracles, Mina Nevisa tells the forty-year saga of her father, the opulently wealthy son of an Iranian ayatollah, who at age 77 has a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ.Overcome by his miraculous revelation, Mina’s father is released from a lifetime of religious oppression—only to face perils of an altogether different sort. The imprisonment and torture of his youngest son; his own clandestine, dangerous meetings with other Christian converts; his fight to find and to restore his relationship with his daughter Mina, whom he had disowned for apostasy—all this takes place against the backdrop of the vigilant and powerful Islamic police.A daring and compelling tale, Forbidden Miracles masterfully exposes the lies and deceptions of Islam. You will marvel to read about cruel kidnappings, pulse-pounding rescues, intriguing testimonies, and a powerful love story. This is a wake-up call to Chris-tians, Muslims, and people from all walks of life facing persecution or longing for religious freedom. In Jesus Christ there are miracles! Mina Nevisa and her husband were born to fundamentalist Muslim families in Iran. After both were miraculously converted to Christianity in the early eighties, they were forced to flee their homeland. While living in Europe, they founded Touch of Christ Ministries in 1991, and they now reside in the USA. Their joy is seeing Muslims embrace the Lordship of Jesus Christ and become equipped to boldly witness about His saving, healing power. Their ministry also oversees operations smuggling Bibles into numerous Islamic-controlled countries. Their testimonies have moved thousands. They accept invitations to churches and conferences throughout Europe and the USA. Mina is frequently interviewed on radio broadcasts in relation to Islamic-Christian issues. Security concerns have restricted televised interviews.

With this sequel to Miracle of Miracles, Mina Nevisa continues her amazing story. Again, the story told within the pages of this book touched my heart. I cried more than once reading this Or perhaps I should say her father’s story as the bulk of the book centers around him, his history, and his conversion to Christianity, as well as the aftereffects experienced by others in the family. As with her first book, I loved how she put a human face on individual Muslims. Islam as a religion is violent and dangerous. Any religion armed with a political objective like Sharia law is dangerous. Islam more so since it encourages a militant outlook birthed by Mohammad’s life and that of his earliest followers. It is good to be reminded that so many living in that darkness need our prayers. And, like Miracle of Miracles, I would have given this a five-star rating, but the editing left much to be desired.

After finishing Miracle of Miracles, I knew I needed to read Forbidden Miracles. It was absolutely heart-wrenching -warming -breaking. The book is an incredible testimony of a leader of Islam who met Christ. This emotional testimony proves that God truly works all things for good.

Sequel (published in 2019) to "Miracle of Miracles", which was written in 2006. My lasting impression is that God is always at work behind the scenes and in Jesus Christ there are miracles!
