WARNING: Winter is the second book in The Sunset Beach High series. It contains mature themes, sexual content, and profanity. If you're not a fan of those things, this isn't the book for you. But if you like serious stuff mixed with lots of bad words and some sweaty sex, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU. It is the second in a four book series.
This second book was even better than book one. I did notice that the author gave little summaries of things that happened in book 1, so technically you don’t have to read the first book to read this one, but I recommend it anyway, they are both good books and I liked knowing everything that led up to this book. The romance between Presley and Trevor is going strong at the beginning of this book. They are in love and he was her first. Things are solid with them.
Both Pres and Trevor have their group of friends and this supporting characters are extremely well developed and play a large part in the story as do the bullies. Two are left over from book 1 and play a minor role, and two new ones are introduced. One is an ex girlfriend of Trevor’s that moves back to town and is determined to get him back. The parents of the main characters also make reappearances in this book.
The writing is well thought out, the storylines work nicely and aside from a few grammatical errors and a missing word here and there, the editing wasn’t too bad, but could use one more sweep. Overall, I am just really liking the story and the characters and will no doubt continue reading the rest of the series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Overall, even though this book is getting a 3.5-star rating, I still would recommend it to readers that enjoy High School Bully Romances and Young Adult Contemporary. Here's hoping that Presley gets to enjoy her Senior Year in High School without some crazy drama, but I know the next two books are going to involve some even more excitement. Here's hoping she gains her trust back in her friends and Trevor.
I like that the heroine did not easily forgive the hero. I hope he grovels in the next book. I still don’t trust the hero especially since the ex-girlfriend came back to town.
OK this serie is so good! I'm 100% in the story and I'm losing my mind everytime something happens. These books are BAD for my mental health, I'm telling you.
I swear I'm too invested in this story. Even had some heart flutters in the end. But one thing is for sure, those girl Presley calls her friends should have done way more groveling after treating her like that before she even considers forgiving..

Reading this book it was definitely predictable, as soon as you read the epilogue, You Just KNOW who is going to show up in the book and I was exactly right. Good read, but it was definitely obvious to what was going to happen.
Will I be reading more of this Series? Absolutely! It’s still a great series! I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book! Will I Read more from this Author? Yes! :D
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I am so in love with Presley's character. I love how strong she is. And of course we have more bullying going on again but from a blast from the past from Trevor's life. Poor Presley.....still l0ving the storyline and can't wait for the next installment. I highly recommend this book and series. Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis
You have to read Fall first!!! Or you will be lost!! So many twist and turns!!! I can't wait to read the next one and how Presley heals from all the drama! Love her character!
Presley & Trevor's story continues. Presley is a great character. Lots of drama. Wish I could be a bit more like her. Can't wait for the next book. Am voluntarily leaving an honest review for a free copy of the book via booksprout.
Quick read with lots of drama. I am giving two stars due to editing issues, the fact that this is a high school romance where birth control isn’t addressed and the nature of the bulling with no true consequences. Bridget is referred to as Brenda in one scene. Some words are completely left out or in the wrong order. A condom was mentioned in book 1 the first time they had sex but nothing has been mentioned since. I am glad the FMC is strong and fights to fix things herself but the pictures, video and attempted rape are serious current day issues that should be addressed more strongly. I hope the FMC follows through with talking to her Dad about everything in the next book and there are real consequences.
Again, the cover is great. I love all things ocean & surf related. This book picks right up where the first one left off. This book was even better than the first book. Trevor and Presley are now together as boyfriend/girlfriend. They are in love. Presley lost her virginity to Trevor.
There's still a good bit of drama between these high school kids. But we meet Trevor's ex-girlfriend, who teams up with Sunset High's main mean girl to plot revenge against Presley. They do something criminal, but Presley chooses not to report it. After a video circulates, all her friends and Trevor turn on her.
This book was pretty good and easy to read. I did find a few grammatical errors, but if you can ignore that...its an interesting read. On to book #3.
I still really like Presley. There’s just something about her. I just want her to be happy.
I thought her and Trevor were great together. They weren’t clingy and he is just perfect for her. I really like Brett too. He’s got this brotherly relationship with Presley that I think she really needs.
I cried towards the ending. I just couldn’t believe that everyone turned against her and then they think an apology is going to solve everything? They literally ditched her when she needed them the most. Did they not know her at all? After that photo you’d think they’d at least hear her out! I take my hat off to her for forgiving them. I don’t think I could speak to them.
The story is catchy and addicitive, the kind you want to keep reading because you want to know what will happen next, and not because it's a great story. It's more of the high school drama we got on the first book. Presley and Trevor are now a couple but there's a new player in the scene trying to break them apart. If there was a theme to this book it would be trust. Who you can trust and who trusts you. The level of maturity is what you expect from high-schoolers, and if you are looking for a light read, it delivers, but if you are expecting something deeper, you won't find it here.
I loved this book as much as the first one but it puts me in the mood to blame the whole world ... Athena really is a bitch and poor Presley .. she's the strongest person i've ever read and i'm so invested in her story i kept my kindle glued to my hand all day and all the night. I hope Trevor will show his love and show her that he wants her to come back more than anything. I can't wait to read the next book!
I am generously giving this book 3 stars for the 50% of it that I read. I was obsessed with the first book so dove straight in to this one which I should of known better than to do…… it’s so rare that the sequel is better or just as good as the first book. It was apparent that the 2 main characters would continue with their poor communication and rollercoaster relationship so I decided to just wrap it up where I was at! It looks like the 3rd and 4th books are much of the same so I’m good 🫡
Honestly, the storylines don’t really make sense. They are entertaining though, however, why would everyone hate her? Just doesn’t make sense. Especially the whole thing with Athena and Kane, if she wanted Trevor back, that’s like the last thing to do. She comes into the story with a mission and yet never once does anything to get there. I don’t know however, it’s entertaining it was really quick to read. I feel like one and two could’ve just been one book.
Oh, don't miss this exciting, rage inducing story of love and deep betrayal!!!😍😍😍
All this drama!🙄 Trevor and Presley just bleed drama even when they try so hard not to. This installment will make you shake with rage and indignity. The trouble that finds our girl is astounding! 😕 And the friends in Sunset Beach are becoming part of the problem, aren't they now?! Can't wait to find out what grief finds these well written characters in the universe of hurt.😘
It was completely frustrating reading this book, due to the bullying and jealousy that flipped Presley's life upside down. I loved this book, because no matter how hurt she was, she had the strength to fight back. This book should be read because it's showed that bullies can be taken down.
Book Two in the saga. I remember the days of middle and high school and kids so similar to sone of these characters. It is scary to think that with today's technology someone could possibly do something like that to my child. A must read. But you need the entire series to see what happens first.
I’m disappointed at the ending of this second telling of Presley’s story. It is an emotional ending, though. If Trevor acted as he did in “the situation”, I believe he would do “it” again. I don’t want Presley to forgive him…for a while. I’m being cryptic, I realize. I love this series. Thank you for sharing your imagination. On to the Book 3.
Flip this book was even better then the first one! I can't believe what happened to her, Presley is so powrful and strong! She handled that like a proper adult! I would've lost it! I really hope everything goes well with Trevor, I trully love him and they are so perfect for eachother! Gosh people can be so disgusting, that Kane guy makes me want to vomit! And Athena was the least of my worries at the beginning, she just turned into a total witch by the end! If this ever happens to me, which I'm sure it won't, I want to be able to handle this situation like Presley. She did it with dignity and respect.

Life as a teenage girl is brutal in general but when you throw in mean girls and jealousy it’s down right vicious! This book is so good and the feels are insane! Another definite recommend
The heroine is supposed to be strong, yet always a victim. She wants to stand up for right things but can't open her mouth unless she is fighting back or bullying others. Why is birth control not addressed? No condoms are used here, hello? This is so backward, I am done with the series.
