The Beastmasters are dwindling. The Mekanics are growing bolder. Everyone's desperate for the next magic bullet.
With no more Chimerics arriving, there's only one way to make more Beastmasters. Me.
I'm not against making baby Beastmasters with the hotties on my squad. The problem is that they're not telling me everything. The last time they tried this, things got pretty ugly...
All hell's breaking loose. Secrets are spilling left and right. Even my alien cat Zoe can't keep all the facts straight. And everyone wants a piece of me.
There's this new robot girl, too. She's a stalker. Certified crazy.
But she could be the key to ending the War. She's also a total babe and can do this trick with her hands you have to see to believe...you know what they say about the crazy ones?
Warning: May not be suitable for all audiences. This book contains a blend of anime and western style harem themes and gamelit/litrpg mechanics.
I'm a long-time fan of fantasy, anime, and video games with a special interest in the growing genres of LitRPG and GameLit. In 2018, I left an unsatisfying industry and started writing fiction novels to see if I could reach people in my own way. Whether you're tired, hurting, or just searching for the next good tale, I hope my stories can make you smile and forget your worries for a little while longer.
Hm. I shouldn't have read this book, I didn't enjoy the 1st one that much, but I was mildly curious and they came as a package and it was near the bottom of the too read pile.
Like before, I don't really know much about the genre, so maybe it's typical, maybe it isn't but... I didn't like most of the characters, everything is rough 2d. It's been long enough that it took a long time for me to remember who the seperate girls are, besides that they all want to sleep with him for some reason, including being hit on by the older dr. MC turns down lots of opportunities - not that I blame him, everything in this book is just one uncomfortable possible sex then fighting scene after another.
It's short, so that was good. Also, compared to at least a couple of books I've read recently, I did finish, it doesn't have many obvious editing problems, and the book holds together (for what it is).
As with the first book, a surprising mix of creativity, fast paced sci-fi action with a cup of romance, it kept me turning the pages. Now, yes, some of the spicy moments may not be for everyone, but honestly most romance books have things ten times more risky than what’s in here, so yeah…and did I add that it’s got a good bit of comedy too? Well, it does. While I enjoyed the first book better for the tensions at the academy and more psychological angst, this was still a solid piece … but probably the last of the series as I haven’t seen any more from this author for like 6 years. Which is sad as there’s clearly a lot more story! But what can you do? I think, for me, I’ll rate it 3.5 out of 5 alien invasions and round to 3 glowing eyes.
Dustin and his hot teammates try to get a handle on how deep the alien penetration into the war effort goes. What they find is confusing and frightening. I like the action, humor, and tentative romance. Everyone wants a piece of him but he just isn't sure who he can trust. Will he finally hook up with the girls? I look forward to another book.
A truly engrossing and unique fantasy, science fiction series!!! To good to put down!!! Really love the characters and how they interact. Please more!!!!!
So I find the book well written and full of action except not to much meaningful. Our hero, maybe call him that, is not much for proaction or even action(girls). A lot like anime. Lots of girls who want to and a dork who doesnt. However the story is the same he and the whole team are backsliding and hopeless. No proactive moves only helplessness. Not my favorite type of story. Hopeless fight against overwhelming odds only so survive by a hail Mary. I much prefer protagonist that DO something. The former is IRL and I got that no need to read about it. I also don't see the litrpg portion very much but hey it's there enough to slip into the genre. I hope in the next book our boy grows a pair or backbone and takes it to the ememies.
kory has finally delivered a 2nd installment to the beastmaster series and it's a great addition to the series. The story progresses and plot twists pop left, right and front centre. A cliffhanger ending rounds out the story. Character development continues to build and the relationships between the squad and Dr Hill continue to grow and build. Can't wait to see where the series goes from here.
Ok for a book that has the potential to be extremely good the author did not have that happen. The MC was not very interesting and was less entertaining in this book compared to book 1. The female characters are ok but still needed some fleshing out. The middle part of this book was so boring I almost did not finish it.
I've been waiting for this sequel. And it delivers with a bang. Plenty of action, the harem ramps up, and the plot twists deliciously. I really hope we get a part 3.
