Cammie LOVE, TRUST, FATE, AND A HAPPY EVER AFTER? Yeah, not something this girl believes in. My life has shown me that love is just another thing that holds you down. That you need to be there for yourself and fate can screw you over faster than a used car salesman. I wouldn’t have survived my mother and her many men if it wasn’t for my best friend, Gage. The only person I have ever trusted and even that took a while to do. I was alone in the world, no family, just me and Gage, until they showed up. Turns out I have a twin brother and my dad's alive, well f*ck me, and they’ve brought along a guy who I can’t seem to stay away from. Turns out they're all shifters, werewolves, whatever you want to call them, and I’m one as well. This strange pull I’m having to this new mysterious hot guy? He’s not only my mate, he’s my fated mate, and that alone could kill us both. Yeah, whoever said love can conquer all can kiss my a** MASON
A MATE, LOVE, BEING VULNERALBLE, Yeah, sorry not this guy. I’ve seen the destruction it can do and won’t let it pull me down. I’ve seen my friends and family in my pack become mated and it’s become their downfall. Hell, it’s the reason I became Alpha so young. So, wanting a mate and all that love bullshit, yeah, no thank you, don’t want it, don’t need it. Then my best friend Cameron finds his twin sister, and my wolf doesn’t give me a choice, no matter how hard I try to fight it. She pulls me in, we’re too much alike, neither one of us want this, but can’t stay away. She’s from one pack and I’m from another, it would be perfect, then we find out we’re fated. Well, there goes my theory that being mated will be my downfall, because now we’re screwed. A fated mate means being vulnerable in a way I’ve never been, and it could kill us both. I guess whoever asked the question ‘Is love worth dying for?’ was a fated mate, thanks dude.

As a mother to 3 kids(4 if you count my husband!)I'm kept on my toes all day long. I love to read anything I can get my hands on and would rather spend my nights curled up with a good book. I live in Southern, MD and enjoy the quiet life that it provides. When my head isn't in a book it's in my computer.

First off, idk what is wrong with the formatting in this book but it was awful.

In addition to that the paragraphs were not broken up properly so it was all just one full page of words. The spelling and grammar was bad, quotes were in the wrong place the whole thing was a mess.

The whole time I’m reading it I’m thinking this had to have been written by a 15 year old, but nope an adult with teenagers. I was shocked.

It was really just some poorly written YA fanfic lol

Female mc is raised in an abusive home, runs away with her bestfriend, discovers she’s a long lost twin to an alpha wolf, discovers his friend a diff alpha is her fated mate, discovers she’s a rare female alpha.
Anyway she was one of those awful “I’m not like other girls” female characters. Her personality changed nonstop.

In addition to this there was SOOO many plot holes or things that just didn’t make sense, or were in general ridiculous. Like the entire story of why she was given away and then suddenly oh were family it’s all good everything is normal in 1 paragraph lol.

I’m not finishing this series lol

Cliffy alert
I didn’t realize this wasn’t a standalone. I wasn’t loving it, but pushed on because it was short. (under 100 pgs), Argh! It ended in cliffy, and now my OCD is making me reach for book 2, which is more than twice as long. Fated follows 17-yr-old Cammie as she discovers she’s a shifter and grows into her new position/pack. I’m assuming this is a fairly new author, and the book has a few of the common issues. There’re numerous formatting/grammar/typo issues, and long, run-on sentences missing punctuation. The writing style is wordy with padded sentences, and has an immature/dramatic feel to it.

Cammie is a strong h, but borders on being just too much. She’s pretty full of herself, and it shows. Mason isn’t developed very much, and is pretty flat. There’s plenty of action, and a smidge of OW drama.

Bottom Line- These “indie” shifter reads are hit and miss; this one wasn’t terrible, but not really my thing. It’s a bit inconsistent; Cammie is 17, but is drinking at a bar, and talking about sex like an adult, but her reactions and behaviors show her age. I personally like my shifters to be grown-ups; I think it’s hard to balance YA (kids being kids) with ripping people’s throats out. I also didn’t really “feel” anything/emotion from the characters except anger. There just wasn’t any real depth or development, and they felt flat.

Shifters, fated mates and the potential for some angst - first thought was yes please and I happily downloaded the novella, but sadly I ended up DNF at 26% - the plot and characters just did not work for me. The writing just isn't drawing me in. Everything is just very lacklustre.

Great concept...

However, the delivery needed to be cleaned up. I loved the premise of the story. I liked the characters... but it didn’t feel as if an adult wrote this. A great editor would have been tremendously helpful in story telling and cleaning up the long paragraphs.

What bothered me:
-The way that her family and mate go about explaining whom and what they are, as well as her, and her being just peachy- mostly- about it all? Not believable to me.

-I also didn’t like how easy it was for her dad to just let her go with the mom and never see her, nor tell her brother about her. Granted, he probably thought she was dead....but that felt like a cop out story plot that made no sense, seeing as the dad never checked or confirmed this was the case.

However, there is a plot twist I actually loved, as well as figured out way early on, that would be the issue for the next book.

So- as much as I felt like it was written poorly, I’ll still check out book 2 just to finish it all up.

Cammie Finds Herself

First off, one star for not saying part one or book one in blurb. Would never have gotten this if I knew it wasn't a complete story. Writing was all over the place. A 17 girl can drink at a bar? Not sure I'm going to read the next book of this series. No real depth to the writing.

DNF - 18%

The concept for this book is good. Girl finds out she has a twin brother and that she's a shifter. Her newly discovered twin's best friend is her fated mate. It had potential.

BUT the dialogue and the lack of distinct paragraphs and chapters made it too difficult to keep reading. Everything feels choppy and nothing feels thought out.

Cameron feels a pull to someone like he did with his mate, but that's never explained in detail. Cammie is repeatedly called 'short stuff' by her best friend even though she doesn't like it, but that's not even the issue. The issue is that he says it every time he talks to her. No one calls someone by a name or nickname every time they talk. On top of that, the pacing is so fast that you don't connect with the characters. It feels like someone is telling you about a book instead of reading it. Gage is referenced as her best friend multiple times in the part that I read. We get it. They are friends. You don't have to keep telling us.

There's more I could get into, like the fact that she's graduated early so she could move out of her mom's house, but on the next page it says she's working on doing that. The timelines don't match up. But overall, this book doesn't live up to its potential. If the author decided to rewrite the book, I'd give it another try, but for now, I can't finish it.

Interesting

Cammie grows up in a messed up home and pretty much the only one that was ever there for her was her best friend Gage who is over protective of her. Then there is Cameron son of the Alpha Sam of the Hallow pack who feels a strong pull and has dreams and needs to figure out why. And brings Sam and his best friend Mason who is the Alpha of the Gentry pack. They find Cammie and figure out she is Cameron’s twin sister and about to shift for the first time and help her through it then take her home to Tennessee. Cammie learns she is a Alpha female. And Mason and Cammie learn they are fated mates. Which all of that puts them in danger especially Cammie. Gage finds Cammie but she doesn’t realize he has always been a wolf and wants revenge on Cameron and Mason. As well as Gage feels like Cammie is his since he has known her for so long. It ends with Cammie being kidnapped.

There were some grammar and punctuation mistakes but if you get through that it is overall a good book.

There's a better book potentially hidden somewhere inside “Fated” - a lot less stream of consciousness, some concentration on punctuation and grammar, and a strong edit would have improved it greatly.
Cammie is a Shifter but she doesn't know it. Since her recent 17th birthday she's been getting migraines and they are getting worse.
Something else she doesn't know is that she is a twin. Her brother, Cameron, has been experiencing something odd, a strange and growing pull towards … well, that can only be discovered by travelling to the source.
With that mission accomplished Cammie comes into her own, only to find that she's been hit with an unexpected double whammy, she's an Alpha female and the Fated mate of another Alpha – something unique in Shifter history.
And then, just as it really gets going … it ends, almost in mid-sentence! I'm not a fan of cliffhangers and this one is particularly annoying.

The Kindle version of this book was difficult to read. There were long run-on paragraphs with speech in them that should've been separated. Spelling errors, grammar errors, words missing...just so many things that made it difficult to read. It was as though no one proof read this before it went to print.

The story idea is good, but given the intimate scenes, the characters should have at least both been at least 18. The main character just turned 17 and the author is describing sexual acts with her as if she is much older. Having the character age in the back of my made reading those scenes very uncomfortable.

Honestly, I loved the concept of this story, I even liked how the story developed and you were left with a cliffhanger at the end. Sadly though, the writing let the book down. I didn't feel a smooth transition between scenes. Cammie just accepts everything too easily and doesn't question half of the things happening. I feel that the writer could work on making the book more natural and believable when it comes to the characters' interactions, also scenes could be more developed as the story felt rushed. This made the book hard to read and if it wasn't for my love of the concept I would have given up.

Would have been a 4-star if they had give a CLIFFHANGER notice

I hate when books don't warn you that it's a cliffhanger. I don't mind if the next book is available, which it was, but warn a girl. I took a star away for that.

Super short, and super packed... I felt this book could have been twice as long.... it needed some down time. While I enjoyed it, I had a few questions... who leaves their best friend and doesn't call at all... how does Mason spend so much time away from his own pack. Overall, enjoyable read.

✅Fated mates

Cammie has grown up in a piss poor household and only survived that long because of her best friend Gabe. While Gabe’s at his parents for the weekend, Cameron, Sam and Mason bust in and she learns she has a twin brother…

For starts I’ve never heard of two alpha wolves not being able to mate before I feel like I need more background on why that’s a bad idea when clearly Cammie and Mason are meant to be. Not to mention the formatting threw me off a bit😅 I’m hoping the next book improves. I kinda wanna see how things end

Short, very short…

This is a pretty average werewolf story, with the FMC not knowing she’s a shifter. She’s been living with her mother in a very abusive lifestyle. She turns 17 and goes to stay with her best friend, a guy named Gage.

Her father and brother, who she knows nothing about, start to feel a pull, and it turns out that they are being pulled towards her. The brother’s best friend is the MMC.

Gage turns out to be an enemy, and the FMC is abducted…

KU read, and this is only about 60 pages. There’s a part 2 but I’m fairly certain I know what will happen…

I'm sorry, too trite and too many typos

I like the idea, but the execution is lacking.

A lot of spelling mistakes (check instead of cheek happened a few times), many sentences and paragraphs that could have been better structured, and just the story telling is kinda grating (not quite "he said" "she said" but reminiscent).

Would read later versions of this authors work. Especially if they had been edited/proofread better.

Could've been better

Ok so the Blurb sounded interesting, however the book just was all over the place. Cammie is 17 and leaves her mother to move in with her Best friend temporarily. He goes away and her long lost twin, father, and fated mate shows up.

She has her first change, turns alpha female and is suppose to be a gated mates all with a very short time. Just doesn't make sense.

Just okay

The premise of the story wasn't bad and I don't mind reading books that continue or leave off with a cliffhanger but the formatting, holy moly, not good and then there was a fair amount of grammar error. Check used in place of cheek throughout most of the story. The story felt rushed or just shortchanged in places to explain away what I felt should have been key point.

Surprise

XXX! Adult content, reader discretion advised. Cammie had lived with a druggie/drunk of a mother who constantly put her in danger. Since 6th grade Gage has been her only friend. At 17, Cammie was able to graduate early and leave home. Gage was letting her stay at his place until apartment was ready. Then three strangers turn up on Gages front door while she has the flu. Turns out it’s not the flu and the three guys are not strangers exactly.

I’m shocked this wasn’t written by a man. Or a teen. The FMC physical description was so cringy.

It’s okay to replace a proper noun with a pronoun when it’s clearly established who’s referenced. No need to say Gage 15 times in one paragraph. He’s literally the only other person in the scenes.

I was looking for a quick read between long series but couldn’t even give it the couple hours estimated. DNF

Ok

Lots of typo's. Distracting, can't concentrate on the story, wondering what that word was supposed to be. Some words aren't even a word just a letter! What's up with that? This is a to be continued book, FYI. I really wish authors wouldn't do this. Three stars because it really is a good story.

Stilted

The flow is SO choppy, stilted, and almost robotic. To say nothing of the terrible punctuation and grammar. I hung in there to the end only to find out she wrote it as a cliff hanger. Are you kidding me right now? I'm going to invest in the sequel to crap? As if. I gave it 2 stars for effort because that deserves something but not much.

I picked this book up hoping it was a new series. But it ended on a cliffhanger. N book 2 is the follow on. I think it would of been so much better as one book.

The story was good. I liked Mason and Cammie although Cammie did not come across as a 17 year old she appeared older.

Mason and Cammie had chemistry and their attraction was instant.

Where are the paragraphs?!?

When I opened the novel to the first chapter, all I saw were enormous blocks of sentences and no paragraph spacing at all. I checked the rest of the book and discovered it was all the same. There's no way I'm going to subject myself to that.

Returned after reading these sentences.

I have so many thoughts, it’s a fine book. It has lots of stupid plot holes! I can’t get over this one: apparently only your alpha/family/mate should be able to have a mind link with you but during the battle by the lake, the wolves are all able to communicate with Micah despite him being a rouge and having no alpha and none of them being his mate or family.

Good story. Poor formatting

It was a bit difficult to follow the storyline because of the incorrect paragraph format. When a new speaker is introduced in a conversation, you are supposed to start a new paragraph. By making the entire conversation in one paragraph, it kind of feels like a run on sentence or a ramble. I like the premise but it failed in style.

The premise of the story was good, but the formatting was awful it read like a run on sentence, she has all this knowledge then the author decides to let us ln on how she learned it like an after thought, Mason's mood swings gave me whiplash, then all these characters just happen to appear with whom Cammie has full on friendships with its a mess.

Fated

The storyline was interesting and kept me reading to the end. What I gave three stars for was the dire need for editing. So many grammar and spelling mistakes. The use of to instead of too in a published novel makes me cringe.
I did enjoy the story though so if you can overlook the errors it is worth reading.

This book was really disappointing. There are so many typos and grammatical errors that it's really distracting. It's also very cliché, and not in a fun way. Plus, why is this what happens with Gage? WTF???
