First stop—Lynchburg. We have a long road trip ahead of us, and there are three things on our to-do list: 1. Put together the map. 2. Improve the sword. 3. Kill Kenneth. This isn't an easy task. Is it dangerous? It is, but I don't care anymore. There's nothing left to lose. Or is there?
This was book 7 which was absolute kick-ass. I could get the feel of impending danger right from the get go. And I was right. The order was out to get them. And Nicky and Nate had to rush to prepare for the war.
There were travel and action. There were dreams and reality. There were punches and spells. Author Lana Melyan didn't hold back this time. Nicky as the protagonist grew up. She was bold and dignified, she took precise, knowledgeable risks. Confidence grew in her and even after a shocker and loss, she rose strong ready to fight the villains. I loved her spells, they always brought the storm with it. This book had the perfect vibe of action and adventure.
The book was a precursor to the finale, and nothing could stop me and Nicky to get there and save the world.
Seventh book and we are reaching the finale. Things are picking up for Nicki and her friends and not in the way she would have planned.
More secrets are revealed that could destroy them and test Nicki and Nate’s relationship. They pull their strength together with Connie, Logan, Sam and Brian and together carry on the quest of finally destroying Kenneth and his dark legacy.
Fab instalment with an unexpected twist which just makes the story even more exciting.
The sacrifice by Lana Melyan. First stop—Lynchburg. We have a long road trip ahead of us, and there are three things on our to-do list: 1. Put together the map. 2. Improve the sword. 3. Kill Kenneth. This isn't an easy task. Is it dangerous? It is, but I don't care anymore. There's nothing left to lose. Or is there? A brilliant read. I loved the story and some of the characters. I love this series. Action packed. Can't wait for the next book. 5*. Highly recommended.
This is the seventh ‘episode’ in the YA fantasy series from Lana Melyan. Another enjoyable quick read for an accomplished reader and a less daunting novella for a less confident child/YA. As with most of the series, the story is structured to have a calmer start with character development and generally a little romance, building to an action-packed crescendo. The cliff-hanger ending on this one will make you particularly keen to get your hands on episode 8, if you are a fan of the series!
Just completed episode 7!! Absolutely loved it. I started the series yesterday only and completed the whole thing In under 24 Hours. It's was addictive and can't wait to pick up the next one..!!
It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This is Book (Episode) Seven of The Weight of Magic series. This is a fast-paced, easy and short read, perfect for a quick jump into an exciting world of witches, high school, vampires, and danger. This novella series is an exciting ride with unexpected turns and twists; it's like a TV show in a book form. You're one click from starting your binge-read.
First stop, Lynchburg, and they have a long road trip ahead of them. There are three things on their to-do list, put together the map, improve the sword, and kill Kenneth; this isn't an easy task. Is it dangerous? It is, but she doesn’t care anymore, for there's nothing left to lose, or is there? So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. It’s a must read. I highly recommend to everyone.
Lana Melyan has just released The Sacrifice, episode seven of the zeries The Weight of Magic continuing the story of Nicky Callahan, a young witch and her friends, Nate and Connie, two more witches and Logan, a vampire. In the first episode Nicky has just had her powers unbound due to the deaths of her parents and by The Sacrifice she's definitely learning what to do with them. She has her fathers grimoire and the immortal Nate to teach her. Reeling from the outcome of battles with members of The Order, the group set out to find pieces of a map needed to prevent The Order prevailing and bringing Kenneth back from the dead, though he's been dead for many many years. By the end of this book Nicky is becoming the powerful witch she is destined to become. Another great installment from Melyan, roll on The Last Secret, episode eight in the series.
With a long trip ahead of them they have a list of things to do, getting all the map pieces and putting them together, improving the sword and killing Kenneth. It’s dangerous but Nicky just wants it to be over now and just wants to get it done. There was a feeling of impending danger from the start, The Order are out to get them, and they need to prepare.
Nicky has grown a lot since the first book, she is stronger, more confident and wants to be involved. Bold and dignified she isn’t hiding behind Nate anymore and is ready to fight. The spell scenes are exciting and intense, they are well described and exciting to read.
As more secrets are unveiled there is more strain on the relationship between Nicky and Nate and could destroy them. They pull their strength together along with the rest of the coven to vary on the quest to destroy Kenneth.
This is the seventh book so just the one more to go,we are leaning more and more and are coming to the grand finale i am enjoying these novelles from this author. We learn more of the secrets that have been kept from Nicki and Nate, but with the help from there friends Connie,Logan,Sam and Brian they are getting closer to all the answers to put this curse to a end. I enjoyed this book and there were a few twists to keep us all guessing how this is all going to end, can't wait now till the last book to see how this all comes together.
I am loving this series and was excited to see a new one has been released. I picked it up this morning and quickly dove back into where the last book had left us and was keen to keep reading.
I found the pace a bit slow in the first half of this book but lots was happening and things were being explained then it was like bam and a real gear change and I had to keep reading to see what would unfold on the next page.
Another great addition to this story and as it all starts to pull together I can't wait to see what is planned for the next book and how this will end for Nicky and her friends.
Review: We're rockin' and rollin' now, events are coming to a head and there's less time for sitting around which really helps the narrative. Predictably Nate gets taken and predictably Nicky goes after him but then she does the thing that we thought she might even though she said she wouldn't. I know it says spoilers but I don't want to give away all the spoilers lol. I would have happily read on and was a bit disappointed when I got to the end of this episode because I don't have the next one yet.

They are getting closer to the end goal and the order does not like it. They are hot on their heels. I definitely recommend this series (episodes)!
I received a copy of this book from TBC Reviewers request- Thank you This is the 7th book in the series and to follow the action you really need to have read the previous books. Because the books are so short there is little time for the author to recap what came before. Another excellent installment which shows the characters developing powers and relationships- I look forward to the last book in the series to see whether it ends as I think it should
Nikki has given everything to the mission that is her family legacy. Now she's given her chance at a normal life for love. Loved this book of the series. Its almost the end of the mission for Nikki and her friends. But so much is still going on. This book is gripping and a real page turner for this reader.
I started this series on June 14th and only just finished the series on June 16th. It a definite page turner since you really want to know what happens next. Which is why I didn't do a review when I finished the first book but after I finished the series.
This book moved fast! Poor Nicky, so much sorrow for one character. I don't think I have read any other character to have to give up so much. Can't wait to read the next book.
