I think a part of my heart will always have a place for unique vampire stories. The mystery and main character were both intriguing and I enjoyed the relationships Abigail built and her growing confidence in her new vampiric lifestyle. A few times I felt a scene was overdone, but vampires are eccentric creatures. I also have lingering question on more specifics of the nature of these vampires, but seeing as this is part o a series, I anticipate for more to come. Keep the mystery going! Also, I think the cover is gorgeous!
So, the first thing I want to say is I am really glad the story got to the interesting elements early on as I tend to find the mundane parts of stories that happen early on can leave me feeling far from engaged. I don't like the bits of stories when characters first discover the extraordinary elements so I am glad this story got past through the discovery of vampires quickly. I also adore the fact the Vampires each have their own powers as opposed to all sharing the exact dark gift. I also think it was a well written story though, and this is purely personal taste, I do think the dialogue came off as quite modern for something set in the 1700s. But again that is just me and otherwise it was an absolutely wonderful read especially for those who want to get into the story sooner rather then later
I actually enjoyed this a lot. It was a fun quick read with likeable characters and an interesting easy to follow plot. The world Whitcomb created in this novel is exciting and sexy. It's an overall good, interesting read and it's not as Heavy as most vampire novels, which I found very refreshing. Definitely give this a read, you can knock through it in just a few hours, perfect for an entertaining afternoon read.
I really enjoyed this book, as I have a thing for vampires and the dark side. This story was engaging and left me turning pages to explore more of this world. Look forward to seeing more from this author in the future.
