I'll build an army to take back what is mine. Revenge may harden the heart, but I'll gladly suffer the consequences. I've lost my family, my best friend, and the men I love. The little Walker girl from Galla is dead. Now, all that's left of her is a girl willing to risk it all. They call me Queen of the Walkers.
Author Coralee June has always been passionate about storytelling and impressed by the influence it has on people and the decisions they make in life. She loves engaging with the projects she works on, diving headfirst into developing real, raw, and relatable characters that are equally flawed and beautiful. Coralee lives in Dallas, Tx with her husband and two daughters. She's been known to frequently indulge in boxed red wine and day-old pizza. When she's not writing, June is reading or substitute teaching at the local middle school.
Ash and her harem were split apart at the end of book 3. She and three of the guys are hiding out in the wastelands just trying to survive while the other three Dormas boys are being held captive by the new emperor. Jules eventually shows up and convinces Ash it is time to return to the city and rescue the others, but the plan is dangerous for everyone involved.
Alright, well given that everyone was split up, this book was necessary to bring everyone back together. I think I might have been bored by the plot, except the intimacy factor was finally cranked up and since we've been waiting for 4 books for it, I was completely distracted by it finally happening. I think the next book is the final book. Everyone seems poised to take action to free the empire from the newest tyrant and solve the problem of the plague that is affecting everyone. I look forward to seeing how it ends.
Oh, hello little book. It has been a while since I've read 1-3 but hey - I'm here!
Revenge of the Walker has some redeeming qualities in it. Ash kind of stepped up from her usual self but the beginning was making me worry a bit. Thankfully, her character got a bit better in this book and didn't annoy me as much. Speaking of annoyance - Jules was a bit better than her character in the previous books as well. Key words: A BIT
The reason why Jules didn't annoy me that much this time around is because of her relationship with Ash. At first I thought Tallis was going to make her more likable but I honestly have no comments about that character anymore. Basically disappeared on us.
Ash and the guys are just so freaking likable. I want them all back together and to have a little reunion but Ash needed to be a little bad ass in this book. I was all for it too. Plus, I'm just waiting for this whole relationship to spice it up. Dicks flying everyone and all around her. She can't choose and she doesn't need to - she has all of them and they have her.
Um... so I didn't dislike the book, but it was something off about it. I think I am still a little hesitant with Jules being the hero. I don't see this as Ash being the hero of the series, for the last two books or so it seems more like Jules being the victim/hero and getting her chance at redemption for what she did to the family with her lies. I might be making too much of an issue with how important Jules character is.
I did enjoy that we finally got some sexy times with Ash and her guys and by the ending of the book, I could see Ash coming into her own, but at this point it seems a little too late for that.
I am going to read the final book because I want to see how it ends and I really do want Ash and her guys to have a happily ever after.
Oh goodness. I don’t think I can continue this series. Ash did redeem herself somewhat at the end of the book. And the relationship finally hit the next level! But I still don’t like Jules, I don’t like Tallis (he kind of faded away tbh) and Madam, she’s just as bad as the Emperor’s!! Both of them...
In a world run by fear, everyone is willing to backstab one another. Everyone will do whatever it takes for them to survive. I’m generally okay with that. The only reason I’m not okay with this in this series is because of Ash. She still clings to her innocence (bless her) and I love that she’s still kind and thoughtful but the girl has no poker face. She will get hit with some hard information but instead of setting it aside until she’s safe, she lets herself drift and not pay attention. She has sparks of leadership here and there but mostly it’s other people setting her up as a figurehead because she’s easy to control. She isn’t a badass heroine that takes charge, learns to lead, learns to survive, and doesn’t need a man to save her. Being backed into a corner is completely different than standing up and taking charge. I do like Ash but I don’t see her as a leader, she’s more of a foot soldier. Ash hasn’t grown up, the other characters have but she’s still the same. She’s changed from the first book but she hasn’t matured.
Not too sure if I’ll finish the series. Sad because I liked it.
Wow. Totally and completely blown away. Our meek and submissive little walker has built herself up through pain, loss, guilt and love. I was seriously concerned for how she would rally a revolution in the aftermath of when she had to leave Jacob, Cy and Mav, but she persisted. She pushed outside her comfort zone and made her guys love her even more for it. Absolutely cannot WAIT to read the next book.
As the above says NEXT ONE PLEASE! I seriously am in love with this series and I can not wait for the next. I’m probably going to be in a book slump after this but so worth it. This series is so well written. You would think with all the main characters, it would be hard to follow but it is not. They are all so different and I’m in love. #whychoose
Spoiler Alert!!! X X X X X X X X X I’m alllll for a slow burn rh story but Jesus Christ. If you are writing a slow burn with grown ass adults and no one gets THE D by book 4, what the fuck are we doing??? I like this story. And these characters. But i think I’m done.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I have absolutely adored every book in the Walker series but this one is by far my favorite. We get to see Ash transform the most in this book. We get to see Ash hurt and just trudging through life and then we get to see her fight for what she wants. I am just amazed by this story. I cannot wait to see what happens to Ash, her men and their world in the next book.
This one still felt long even though the books aren’t more than 300 pages. I feel like it’s this jumbled mess. They keep allowing too many people to know their plans, too many variables for it to go wrong. Some of the things work out too easily for Ash too. The ending felt too easy in some ways, and in others I felt like Ash, Jules and the guys were too trusting of everyone. Madame B is shady AF.
Ash had a dream when she “died”, and couldn’t remember it throughout the book, but then remembers it when Cavil does.
Ash’s showdown with Cavil was good, but also somewhat anticlimactic. How would she have gotten the drop on him? Some of it is unbelievable but I’m probably going to finish the series to see how it turns out, that and bc I can’t stop thinking about the books/characters even though it’s not the best imo.
There are not enough stars to give this book. It was absolutely amazing!!! I have cried, screamed, been angry, happy and laughed. Ash has become so strong and has shown her love for all her men. They are the reason for her strength and I love her character. Jules has suprised me. That ending left me wanting even more.
I kept reading this series hoping it would improve but it hasn’t. It’s remarkably average.
The FMC is a wet blanket, she’s not badass and honestly she’s quite boring. Her ‘romantic’ scenes with her lovers lack chemistry and passion, she’s not a horrible character I just find her unlikable.
The MMC’s are besotted with her, but don’t inform her of any plans and never include her in decisions, their personalities are also lacking.
I’m finding the plot to be so boring and so so so slow moving. What was the point of the memory of Dominique if it wasn’t going to do anything until the ‘villain’ unfolded his plan for the FMC to only then remember her ‘memory’ - so pointless? Also how did jules survive the rejection and the strange vaccine?? Nobody knows. I also don’t like that a 16/17 year old is the leader of a resistance, I just find it hard to believe. Also maverick studied A LITTLE medicine not loads like his father yet he’s supposed to create a cure and understand genomes is just a little far fetched.
Well I'm a little speechless after that ending! There is a lot of unanswered questions at the end!! Who is Ash now?? Will the pills do damage?? Will they make it out together?? Is Payne safe?? Will we see more from the brothel group?? What about Jade?? These questions are gonna drive me mad until the next book drops lol.
I enjoyed this book the most so far, Ash is growing into herself finally! Shes become stronger, and the fighter we have needed her to turn into. The heat has been turned way up!! Hux, who is my fav, has finally stopped fighting his feelings. We are getting a deeper look into the guys and how they feel and what makes them tick. I missed having them all together this time for sure, but that voice modulator had me laughing, even if it makes me sad at the same time. I'm looking forward to the finale, I think it's going to come with a big bang, and of course I'm hoping for that HEA.
This series just keeps getting better and better and I don't know how CoraLee June does it! This world she has created in The Walker Series is so intricate and expressive, but it feels like it could be a real place in the way that CJ has set it all up for us. I love the intricacies of each of the characters, whether they be a primary or secondary or background, they all have their own characteristics and backstory. The way that things progress feel like it could truly happen, with things occasionally going right and things occasionally falling apart needing a fast brain storm. I love that we get to see some intimacy progression between Ash and the Dormas Leaders, but not at an "all in" rate, more of a natural one by one at this point. So glad I don't have to wait long for End of the Walker, but not liking that this series is soon to be over.
Oh what a way to end a book but not the series!!! But first, I can’t explain how much I loved how this has come together. The charter development of Ash has truly been brought full circle. In the beginning, she was Ashleigh. And her name has even developed with her. Ash has quickly become her new persona.
The perfect amount of spice, action, development, mystery betrayal and revenge! And boy ,this revenge has been coming. Cavil finds new way to piss you off and wish him the worst death possible.
Ash becomes closer to all her men and I can’t wait to see where this can go. The Slow burn in this series is YUM!!!
I love this slow-burn RH series. After the last book Ash has to face the fact that her men would always put her safety before them and although she is angry with betrayal she grows stronger and more determined to get Cy, Mav and Jacob back. The resistance is here and the world as they know it is changing. This book is well written and left with a cliffhanger ready for the next and last book of the series. If you haven’t read the first 3 books give it a try. Love and solidarity conquers tyrants!
So, Ash bashed in dudes face. Is anyone else really happy about that? I'm still mourning the loss of Josiah (Yeah, I know he was kind of a douche but he loved her, okay) I'm really excited for the next book. I'm hoping things chill down just a little for Ash and her men, though. I still want to see them kick some major ass with the rebellion, but I also want to see what their relationship looks like out of the storm, ya know? But anyways, Coralee is a genius and she could write a story about tree bark and I'd still read it. Loved this book. :)
It got real in this book! The heat was turned up ! And I mean literally, lol. Ash finds herself dominating this new resistance and refusing to let decisions be made for her ever again. The characters have changed so much since Cavil took over and although it seems like a lot of change in little time I had to remember that it was 5 months in between since the last book, which is reasonable. Can’t wait to see what the Queen of the Walkers does to save her people next .
This review is for the series. I really like the premise of this, especially because it's mirroring the pandemic of the world in an interesting way. It has all the dystopian earmarks; class system, race for the vaccine, rebellious factions, power hungry dictators, unrequited lust and all consuming love. Whilst it was a very slow burn with the harem it was still spicy at times. Whilst it was mostly proportionate to the story line, the relationship development was too slow come book 3. The story was great and nice twists, I can see this playing out as a netflix series.
SPOILER ALERT~~~~~I just love how Jules is ok and has her man. And oh my when Ash broke the bed post... I was so excited for her to take him out!!! And now finally others are realizing the fact that she is bad ass. No more people telling her how it's gonna be done in her life, or should I say them taking her choices away from her. Can't wait for the next one!!!!
Oh this series is so great! Here we have book 4. Gah, I thought my heart would explode! This has been a very shadow burn RH but I loved it! It flows so smoothly! I’ve come to love these guys and Ash. I so badly have been holding out hope for them! It seems like right when I think everything is going to fall into place, bam! Something happens! We get a few more bombs that I never saw coming! I’m so ready for book 5!
In Revenge of the Walker, Ash deals with the grief of missing a few of her men. Sadness, guilt, anger... She bottles it up and even the men who are still with her barely manage to get through. But she manages to man up and join the resistance.
I felt like this book was darker, probably due to the fact that Cavil is an evil and twisted man. Just a heads up: This book ends in a major cliffhanger.
I hate not finishing books or series so I will finish this but it’s getting hard. The MC is all over the place in terms of persona and emotion -it’s annoying. The main male characters went from having some distinct personality in the 1st book to all just being lovey-dovey over Ash. I’ll read the last book but it’s more out of obligation to just see it to the end at this point.
So much happens in this book that will lead us to the inevitable conclusion. Ash does a lot of growing as a character and while still timid and unsure at times, she’s starting to come into her own.
We get to see how her relationships with her men withstand trauma and separation. There is also drama, steaminess, and plots for rebellion. It’s a fantastic addition to the series and the anticipation for the final book is real! 4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Yet another amazing book by CL June. My only question now is...what happens next?? Things finally progress, relationship wise, in this book. She no longer is holding back and all I can say about that is, well it’s fire. It’s so worth the wait. Put down what you’re reading now and read this!!!
I love this series! I literally stayed up for two days staight devouring the entire seires. In Revenge of the Walker things heat up, Ash grows up a bit more and is sure in herself. I love the dynamic between her and the guys, however Cy is mine, I licked him, so he's mine. But seriously I can't wait for the next one!
Have read all of the walker books and must say they are absolutely fantastic. Original gripping and forever changing in u expected twists. Await with baited breath to see if ash and her guy's get their little piece of heaven, and if Payne becomes the hero of the tale.
I love how Ash takes charge in this book. She has been so timid, which I understand, but she finally takes charge of her life and stops being a damsel. I kind of knew she would be the one who really took care of the issue, but how it happened, is a little bit unbelievable. Although, this is a fake world so I guess anything can happen right?
